Mi 10 vs S10 - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
my s10 gives me only 4 hour of SOT with under 4 hours usage and 13 hours idle. Is the mi 10 a good replacement for it?
I don't care about camera, but I want a lot of screen on time AND low passive bettery drain and good performance CPU wise, which seems to be fitting.
Did anyone have an s10 and could give some advantage/disadvantages?

Compare the specs and you'll have your answer. S10 is almost 2 years old....

specs don't tell me anything, and I already said the specs fit. I want to know about the battery life and passive battery drain.

I'm ok, I'll do as I please but thanks for your input.
Do some research as all the info is already in the threads. You'd know this if you checked.

Yes, thank you for your concise, yet completely worthless contribution to a question being asked. Once I've managed to trudge through the million or so posts, I will form an opinion if said thread was even remotely useful.
While your extreme enthusiasm and talent in pointing out things that are obvious are appreciated, I would actually like to request information pertaining the stability and whether you have tried it. Since you have not managed answer either question with any one post, I suppose you have failed three things; to answer the two questions I've asked in the OP and at life.
To anyone else reading this, I'm merely berating a neanderthal with near catatonic grasp of the linguistic requirement of reading; please answer the OP question as best you can.
Lolwow, that actually made me laugh, seriously, totally talented phrasing there.
On the matter of the OP:
I haven't tried myself yet (I hope that doesn't rule me out as a potential "may reply guy"), but from what I have gathered so far it's flagged "experimental".
UI stuff mostly works, some other things (like making a call) sometimes work and then don't again.
Definitaly not "daily use" capable, but a very good impression of the work that is already done and to see that work is heading into the right direction.
They say they'll be "stable" around Jan./Feb., so being a coder myself I'd rather think of March / April (NOT meant badly, I just know the countless unforseen reasons a project gets delayed!).
And if you are not as lazy as some of the members here you should aleast read the Op or the first and last 10 pages of the thread you worthless dumbass.. You're so lazy you won't read atleast the OP or last pages to see how it is? I was just telling you to look at the f**cking thread because an immature dumbass child owning a smartphone like you wouldn't have read atleast the thread pertaining to the fuc**ng topic dumbass..

Thanks for the honest answer. I was interested in CM9 mainly as a daily driver, since I only have one phone.
As for the Q1 timeline, I have heard from Cyanogen himself and from Samsung that their timeline is similar. I am, of course, near morbidly curious about hardware acceleration on the UI without a Samsung-based kernel.
Please excuse an old man while he brushes up on patience.

Here's my summary of the OP after I have read it:
1. Experimental.
2. Install using CWM, with addons.
3. No bug reports; dev not bothering anyway.
4. Logcat, or GTFO.
That should cover the basics.
Last ten pages summary:
1. Volume problem when headset connected.
2. Volume hack presented, although quite "dirty" as represented by the author.
3. Various other complaints/answers and going off-tangent.
I suppose there are other issues I might add, but the first two points seem to discuss this issue quite a lot. Also, the OP was updated to include said volume hack.
Of course, your answers were quite rage-induced, so I'd like to ask you to calm down and think about what you're saying. Even my twelve-year-old son does better than calling others "immature child" and using the f-word when he feels threatened. That is despite me allowing him unfettered access to Call of Duty multiplayer.
Yeah yeah was not in a good mood already and then i read your somewhat sarcastic reply.. Sorry for what i said and you should'nt answer people like that.. I did reply to you answer (1st one) in a proper way and not a sort of know it all read the op etc type.. Anyway, a new leak will be out this new year (from sammobile) and maybr devs can work on it to minimize the bugs so i'd suggest to wait for the next version..

this is not a good way to start
people may just never going to reply to you with this attitude.
anyway, to answer your questions:
1. i tried the second built, not the 3rd one (just downloaded)
2. it's almost usable, but still a lot of bugs here and there (volume when you connect the headphones, signal lost on some networks, default sms app crashing).
If you don't mind an "almost working but amazing" phone, then go ahead, else i would suggest you to wait another couple of builds at least.

Well, something I've learned here: Didn't you read this entire thread?
I've read the CyanogenMod 9 thread, have proven that I've read it, and I believe it is impossible for any sane person to have read the entire thread. I'm here seeking opinions, of which yours is entirely unwelcome especially considering you didn't provide any. Why don't you try to get on a horse before talking to me, so that I don't have to stoop so low?

Sure.
If you don't want my opinion, how about one of the (currently) 1,125 posts in the relevant thread, of people who didn't feel the need to create a new one?
What if the several hundred people in there each decided to post an awesome thread like your own? What if they too didn't like or want the opinions of the others in that thread, rather specific people who have tested it (wait, what, isn't that what you're likely to find in there?).
I have indeed read this thread, and I stand by my answer. You were given the most useful answer in the 2nd post, which was to look at the relevant thread. In case you're struggling to find it, lemme help you out

Sure, I'll read it once you have gone through all 1,000+ posts there. I'm sure we'll all gain some insight, once you've gotten past your passive-aggressive inclinations and complete ineptitude when it comes to answering questions directly and keeping silent when having little to nothing to contribute to a discussion. I'm sure you're a well-adjusted person if I should ever meet you face to face and you enjoy great success in life.
By the bye, I would also like to congratulate your abilities in stating the obvious when providing the link to the topic. I'm sure I couldn't have found it without your assistance. Great effort.

Obligatory TWSS here. Thanks for the laughter.
On a more serious note, I have suddenly realized that the current generation of internet users couldn't discern point blank sarcasm or is a masochist.
I would make a Nandroid backup and give it a go, I;m flitting between this and 2 other backups, and i found it to be quite stable, a few niggly bits here and there but overall it was usable.

New Idea for Guide

Thinking about a guide like say "links to common problems and tuts",
where there is links to every common problem of the forum in those threads. users can post more. so everything is there and its not very messy or long.
op's would get more views and thanks.
Kindly use the vote too.
is this idea good?
I think the stickies already enough (In my own opinion)
I guess we have so many stickies, should be enough

I think the idea is a good one. A bunch of the recognized contributors are trying to do something along those lines, but based on a FAQ. The idea is for most devices to end up with a FAQ with short answers to the common questions/problems. Since the answers are short, they almost always link to a longer guide/tut/resource.
fma965 put one up for the Xperia Play today, it is here if you want to take a look.
Is there any way to share op title or at least have an option for more than person to edit a post? And watch over the thread etc etc.
Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro
I think your idea is not bad but I think I already made a FAQ thread for it You can always PM me or tell me all kinds of your idea to improve it. I'm trying to make it as much helpful as I can and if you put your effort too, i think that guide can be extended to a greater level
Best Regards,
AJ

At the moment no. I think that people have asked for this in General - About xda forum. I seem to remember that it was going to be looked into...but it could be a while.
I don't think you can ever have too many guides as what you may find in one you might not find in another, but as already said it's pretty much covered in the guides/sticky department, and most of the solutions to common problems should be found by following Rule Number 1 anyway.
No offence, but the search tool of xda isn't quite up to the mark.
Quoting a person from the alternative to 10 post rule
Dblfstr said:
Agreed, but it IS an alternative. And I might point out that the search function is not the best. Case in point, I received a thunderbolt a few weeks ago, and while I was able to find what I needed to root it quickly, there things I needed to know that were no where to be found. As an RC, I knew better than to "just ask", but after I could not find my answer (although I'm sure it was here somewhere) I had to pull a n00b and ask. Of course, I was treated like a n00b with the typical "read the OP, search first" responses. NOT HELPFUL.

Google works perfectly, which is why its so frustrating when People say they've searched but not found what they're looking for, because most of the time typing a thread title or their question into Google finds it straight away, or is in one of the stickys they clearly haven't read.

Juice defender ultimate vs. Snapdragon battery guru

Here are my questions. Has anyone tried both? Which is better for a heavy user? Also can you run both at once or should I disable one? I tried Googling these things but im having trouble finding any info. Sorry if this is a total noob question. Any help is much appreciated.

hello all,

btw, although i like all the information i see on this site, i HATE the idiotic image verification prompts, as most of the time you can't read what the letters are yourself!!!

Read the Sticky collections & FAQ in the Q&A section, that will give you anything you should know before rooting. After that try out different roms, no one can answer you what is the best one (and btw it is not allowed to ask).

Something weird happened at official MIUI Forums

I have just created a thread about how you'll be hunted by mods if you criticise Xiaomi for not announcing their plans about Mi4/Mi3 upgrade. I'll attach screenshots below and if you're an MIUI member, access the thread through this link(en.miui.com/thread-151298-1-1.html) and drop your views because it is more about us getting an update and less about me.
Below are the images. Click on them to enlarge.

Lol, this is nothing new. Everyone that's been on miui forum knows this. It's their way or the highway - that's why i chose the highway.
+1 to the arguments m8. Else I don't see people putting the effort in arguing with them as it finishes in vain.
Anyways left a comment on MIUI thread xD

But our fight is not with those mods but Xiaomi. We have xda developers news portal and they have always talked on issues such as these. Can't we make a thread and rate the hell out of it to grab their attention?

Thank You, mate. My main intention is that a news portal grabs it, but the mod moved the thread to complain section. All in all, I just want a reply from Xiaomi about their plans with these two flagship devices. Share it if you can.
I've been saying a lot of times to other people there that Xiaomi doesn't really care about updating their Android Base. All they care is about their "OS", which we all clearly know that MIUI only exist because of Android. You buy a Mi device for MIUI not for Android; BS. Xiaomi peeps should put that as a warning label below their boxes. xD Well, its been a nasty, ugly ride with Xiaomi, I've hammered that last nail, its time to grab those greens(well blues here in the philippines) from my buyer and go with a different OEM.
Guess what it happened with me also. The forum is full of buggers.
Now you guys are learning why no real devs will work with devices from this OEM. This has been their way of doing things forever.
