How to change the Contry code (region code), and even more - Huawei P30 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi, I wanted to change the country code to get native support for call recording. I did this, converted my device to C675 (India) and got the native CallRecording_10.1.0.apk, which is now distributed on all Huawei forums.
1. Download and install the Octoplus Huawei Installer v1.2.2 from https://octoplusbox.com/
2. Pay for a license for 6 months, and you`ll receive the activation code to your email. (P.S. I have nothing to do with this site or the author of the program)
3. Run the program and input the activation code.
4. Follow the instructions on the upper left side of the window, put the smartphone into the On/OFF Factory Mode state (the lowest button on the right in the picture). The program downloads some code from the Internet that is necessary for your smartphone model, and the smartphone turns into a temporary brick until you bring it back to working condition on step 7.
5. On the computer, an unidentified "Other device" USB SER appears in the Device Manager, the device does not respond to anything, does not turn on, only sometimes vibrates when you press different key combinations. Use the device Manager to install huawei com1.0 driver (at the bottom of this message).
6. After that, the program discovers the smartphone, and the "Repair" tab on the right under "Actions" becomes active, with almost all its fields active. In the Country code field, change the country by manually entering the necessary letters. I changed it from ru to in, but you can change to any other region, for example, you can convert the device from China to any European country.
7. Again, click On/OFF Factory Mode, the program flashes the original code to the smartphone, bringing it back to life, it reboots, and data is reset.
8. After the reboot, the smartphone will have a new region code, but the firmware is still from the previous region, so you have to flash (to dload) the firmware of the new region. Another data reset occurs, and you get the device from the new region, with OTA working and so on.

Hello there. Change the country code to make all data on smartphones gone?

I do not think there is a need to do these steps. Just download and install one of the attached APKs. One is for EMUI 10.1 and the other one is for EMUI 11 and 12 (version number 11.0.0.109).

[Q] changing engineermode "band mode" settings on S7589 + request S7589 factory rom

[Q] changing engineermode "band mode" settings on S7589 + request S7589 factory rom
I recently picked up a Star Kingelon S7589 from an ebay vendor. This is actually the 2nd one, the first one I had to return due to a hardware failure.
My problem: I'm in Chicago where I had no problem getting UMTS/HSPA speeds on the replacement phone with AT&T as my carrier. But AT&T's pricing is a major burn. So I switched to T-mobile.
But the replacement phone had its own problems. The stock factory rom had problems with the face camera. So I requested an updated rom from the vendor - idiot vendors gave me the rom for an entirely different phone! (an unrelated ZOPO model as it happens. Gave me a nice black screen at bootup while playing what I can only describe as Chinese Video Game Music. GRRR!). So I had to mess around with trying various roms from needrom and other sources. Managed to find a relatively recent rom that flashes using the SP_Flash_Tool at boot time, but I've been unable to sideload any of the mods via adb in recovery mode, though I can get adb working for app installation and shell commands when the phone is fully booted.
Now having switched to T-mobile I find I can only get about 2.5G speeds. I inquire in a few places and learn they only use 2100/1700 WCDMA-AWS for HSPA+ in the Chicago area.
Upon going into "engineer mode"->BandMode,
I find all four GSM modes ticked. But under UMTS modes the only ones selected are WCDMA-IMT-2000, WCDMA-CLR-850 and WCDMA-800.
The rest, which includes WCDMA-PCS-1900, WCDMA-DCS-1800, and the mode I believe I need to use T-mobile, WCDMA-AWS-1700, are greyed out, in addition to a few others.
So next I explored the Android Testing Mode, and selected the option to "Change Radio Band."
On my list I have "Automatic", "EURO Band", "JAPAN Band", "AUS Band", and "AUS2 Band".
No USA Band.
So my questions are:
* On "Change Radio Band," does the lack of a "USA Band" choice there reflect a limitation of the baseband hardware? Or could this have changed when I flashed the phone? (I only learned about EngineerMode and Test Mode after flashing.)
* Are there any ways to un-grey the greyed-out UMTS modes in EngineerMode, especially WCDMA-AWS-1700?
* Is there a utility to query the phones baseband functionality and display the actual capabilities of the phone, as opposed to relying on data displayed in "engineermode" and "change radio band"?
* Finally, on the main EngineerMode menu, beneath BandMode is a greyed out option "BSPTelephonyDevTool". Any info on what this is? Even if its not relevant to my problem I'm still curious.
For what its worth, post-flashing a new rom from needroms:
The face-facing camera DOES work. However:
* the default language is now Chinese. It was easy enough for me to navigate to the appropriate menu to change it to English. But I don't know Chinese. Phone is encrypted and about half the time after a reboot the boot-time password prompt to unencrypt the phone is in Chinese.
* the phone as it currently stands reports its baseband as MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V6.P4, 2013/04/12. (I dont expect that would have changed from flashing.)
* Phone perhaps incorrectly reports its model number as GT-N7102. I say perhaps incorrectly because GT-N7102 roms do not work on this phone. (Im not quite sure what was in this field before flashing, but I seem to recall it was something like S7589.)
* Build number is Star7589-2013/04/20 by laoxu321 .
If anyone has an english language factory ROM image for this phone I'd be grateful.
Also, at this point if I can't turn on WCDMA-AWS-1700, I'll probably offer the phone for sale.
Best,
stimoceiver
From my knowledge, it is a hardware limitation, I have this phone and I use tmobile and it only gets edge network speeds. But with AT&T I get H+ speeds. Amd regarding the rom, the model GT-N7102 shows up because it was put there by the rom developer. They used the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 model number. Also, for roms, you can find them on needrom.com I am using a rom called Saigon or something and it works great

Are you absolutely positive that your 3g was not related to service operator when you were on the stock firmware in question ? Have you tried your SIM card on other phones to confirm the functionality of 3g network ?
Did you check you APN settings :
Dial "*#*#4636#*#*" > Phone Information >Set preferred network type > WCDMA preferred Does it set correctly ?IF not then choose wcdma; press turn off radio then press turn on radio; press home button(not back button). You will get 3g. If not then reboot.
Have you lost your IMEI ? what you see when you dial "*#06#" was it gone on your last non - deodex fw ? what is your phone variation ?
what was your last CSC/PDA/MODEM part , which does support your base band/3g and other things , before you lost it ?
Your country / Region and carrier you are staying too please ,, we might need to flash the only Modem part over Odin to resolve this issue according to instruction i will provide . However you need to be more specific by providing more details such as name of possible custom Roms you did flash. stock CSC/PDA/MODEM details you did try and other minor details will become valuable in this troubleshooting .

Hello, thanks for the answer, the same SIM card worked on with 3g with the deodex rom, and wasn't working before it. I got no 3g with one rom, changed it to deodex and got 3g, changed again and lost, all of this in a few minutes, so wasn't problem with the operator or SIM. I didn't check the APN, I just downloaded an app from my country to try to set it. I don't know if I did lost my IMEI, I have it wrote in the back of phone, but didn't check if is the same after all that changes (and if is possible to change it), I changed the rom a LOT of times, first times with CWM and after with Odin, with the I variation, C and M (trying to go back to original stock). I think the original firmware was an old version of M variation (S5830MUWHKL4 maybe), my country is Brazil and the operator of the SIM card is Claro, the last stock from sammobile I tried was the last one from Claro, tried with and without CSC after splitfus2 it.

I really don't understand how Deodex Rom has anything to do with your 3g/IMEI/APN settings. Because Deodexing is basically repackaging of your APKs in a certain way, such that they are reassembled into classes.dex files.
By doing that, all pieces of an application package are put together back in one place, thus eliminating the worry of a modified APK conflicting with some separate odexed parts.
custom ROMs or APKs are always deodexed to ensure integrity.
Ok so you are from Brazil (Claro) and on C variation of the device, thus splitfus2 and wipe package troubleshooting is not supported for C variation . (Splitfus2 only generates the normal extraction of CSC/MODEM/PDA parts from your single xxx.tar.md5 file, noting more in this case ). Use this pre- configured app for normal parts generation instead with ease .
This is the list of the correct xxx.tar.md5 for your device and you have tried the last update for your carrier from this page ( PDA : S5830CVJMA1/CSC: S5830CZTAMA1 )according to you , right ? and you lost your 3g support ?
I got couple of suggestion for your 3g :
1- Use 2012 tested Brazilian Multi Package Firmware from this page ( PDA: VJLF3/CSC: ZTOLF1/VJLF2) .
2. Check you got the correct Odin and drivers installed on your system ( Odin3.v3.07.Cooperve.exe ; Drivers post ) .
3- Get into Download mode ( pressing Vol(+) + Vol(-) + Power Keys) :
- -press volume up
-Open Odin3.v3.07.Cooperve.exe
-Connect your phone to PC via USB cable.
-Make sure that your phone is detected in "ID:COM" area.
- Put your CSC/MODEM/PDA parts into their respective places . Do not use pit file and Do not tick re-partition though . Factory reset and reboot selected by default >> push the START !
- DO NOT disconnected nor disturb the flashing Nand process , until the process being terminated.
Get into e3 stock recovery and wipe your /data .
Now in your brand new FW :
Dial "*#*#4636#*#*" > Phone Information >Set preferred network type > WCDMA preferred /only and confirmed my instruction in first post has met with your APN settings.
Dial *#06# as instructed in first post ( IMEI box with your 15 diigit number must appear )
CSC is your consumer software customization and it is specified to geographical region and carriers. CSC contains the contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection .
WE can easily change the settings inside our Multi - package we flashed for carrier compatibility etc etc :
Code:
Just type *#272*Device IMEI# at Phone dial pad. For IMEI type *#06#.
Select the CSC that you want.
Click Install.
Phone will be rebooted by itself.
Note –Changing this will factory reset your phone. Do backup before perform this task.
Note – CSC can sometime be corrupt. It may lead to infinite loop. Reason unknown.

Me too, I don't know why the heck just the deodex rom got 3g signal, I flashed the same PDA version, but no deodex, and there was no 3g..
Originally my Ace is an M variation, I bought it unlocked on the internet and came a 5830M, probably with S5830MUWHKL4 rom.
Yes, I got that rom from that page and used the splitfus2 on it. I'm waiting my dad get back from work (I'm trying to do the best fix on the phone so he can use it without problems) to start trying again to put the last rom with your instructions. Also, do I really need to flash CSC? This part comes with a lot of trash apps that is impossible to remove by normal ways, and I don't want to root the phone and use 3rd party programs do remove that things.
Thanks!
#Edit
Also, the PDA from deodex rom has 431mb and the PDA of nondeodex has 185mb (same version of rom), is it normal?

Yes you need your CSC as i have explained it in details ,,,and you have too get root privileges for any removal of your system apk's ( If you are under some sort of warranty , you can use UN-root script or galaxy toolbox to reset the counter to zero for avoiding detection i guess, after you have done playing around with phone ,, rooting and using either manual or script method is recommended for bloatware removals on Odex roms , third party apps like disable service and TB is also advised ). Or Deodexed your Rom and remove bloatwares , but you will loose ~70 MB of your precious internal storage ( link2sd or Universal Cronmod could fix the storage problems ) and PDA size you did mention is quite natural .
Still waiting for your final report mate ,,,,,,,

Stock phone app foolishly removed, IMEI no dissappeared

I bought a new Lenovo A806 (original version android 4.4.2 - build VIBEUI_1432_ST_A806).
There were lots of Chinese writings imbedded in the rom and apps so I rooted the phone and tried to disable some apps and stupidly removed the stock phone dialer and contacts. Then whatever replacement app I tried from the Google play store did not work.
The replacement dialer gives me the message:- “You have removed/disabled Stock phone application, its required to properly functionality.” (pardon the Chinese English)
The phone cannot read the sim card and the IMEI number has disappeared. Following forum advice, I installed “mobileuncle” but cannot insert the IMEI number manually. When I go to Engineer mode, CDS information and try to go into Radio information, I get the message - “Unfortunately, Common Data Service has stopped.” So I cannot even go into Radio information.
I researched on the internet and tried to change the Rom. I installed the required version of TWRP recovery and after trying a few Roms, I managed to get Version VIBEUI_V2.0_1508_7.85.1_ST_A806 installed.
This version behaves better but still no IMEI number. Instead I get a different message – IMEI invalid.
When I try to call, I get this message: - “To place a call, first turn off Airplane mode”
But Airplane mode is off. But at least the dialer seems to be working and I am able to add contacts.
And I can get to radio information from mobileuncle with this version but when I type the IMEI number after the ST.., I get the message: “This command is not allowed in userbuild”
Even with a space between the ST and +, it still does not work and I get a different message, “at command is failed to send” I even rebooted after inserting the IMEI number and still no joy.
However, the wifi seems to be working on both above version and this.
I have a backup of the original corrupted rom so if anyone has a solution for either one, please help.
I installed the rom’s through TWRP recovery which is on my phone. I press volume and on/off buttons to enter into this.
I tried to install a flash tool and all the required drivers on my computer, I am using windows 10. I cannot seem to get the flash working.
Fixed
I managed to get the "SP Flash tool" working on my Windows 10 computer and that worked. Everything fixed. Thanks.

LG V30+ H930DS regional restrictions

Fellow V30+ users and anyone else that has experience with recent LG devices, I have a H930DS from India that I use in HK now. It's the exact same model that's sold here in HK (I got it from India because of the lower price, which a first!).
Now, my problem is with VoLTE here. My carrier, CSL, supports this device and they even confirmed the same on call. It's duly listed on their website too. But, I do not get the toggle to activate it on my unit.
My software version says v10d-IND-XX, which clearly means it's meant for India. That could be the reason HK specific carrier information is missing on my device? This is my first LG device after almost 5 years, so I have no clue how LG does things firmware-wise. Samsung CSC stuff makes it possible to change regions, I know nothing about how LG devices work in that regard.
Does anyone have any information how I could go about fixing this situation? Can I change my region to HK? It's the exact same device, exact same software otherwise.
Thanks in advance!
I have exact problem in reverse, I have an h930ds from HK, using it in India. My carrier Airtel supports Volte but I can't see the volte toggle in my setting.
Any suggestions?

I'm planning to call up LG service on Monday and ask them directly. Normally, it's supposed to check the SIM and region on every boot and get carrier specific information accordingly (if that particular model is supported by the particular carrier of course). That's what Sony devices do.
So I reached out to LG support and after 3 days of back and forth, they came back with nothing. They have no idea if the region can be changed. They asked me to contact LG India, I'm not going to bother with that because I'm more than certain they would be of no help either.
Great news!!
Okay.. I bring good news! You can definitely flash any KDZ as long as the model number is exactly the same. I flashed the HK Reginal kdz on my H930DS from India and I now have working VoLTE and VoWiFi.
In short, get the CORRECT kdz of the desired region for your model number, use LGUP, Upgrade option, and let it do its thing. Simple. This keeps the device official and under warranty.
PS - Please backup all data before doing this. Even though it is just an upgrade, play it safe. Just in case!

Great news, where can I download the software and kdz? Thanks
Here's the link: LG H930DS Firmware Downloads
Please double check your region code (link to code list is at the bottom of that page).
To find the LGUP, necessary DLL file and instructions, check here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75293530&postcount=1
IGNORE the driver linked in that post, see below for driver installation.
PS - BEFORE doing any of the above, make sure you install LGMobile Support Tool on your desktop. Get it from LG's website.
- choose language and region in the program
- select LGH930DS and let it install the correct drivers (do NOT have the device connected while doing this).
- Right after driver installation, it'll pop up two archive windows, install both the files from those windows (one window is right under another, don't be too quick to close out the windows!).
- Restart Windows, then open up the program again and connect your device to USB and let it recognise the device. You need to select MTP (file transfer) mode on your device from USB options.
Now close everything and follow this:
- Connect your device (make sure battery is above 60%)
- Launch LGUP
- Let LGUP recognise your device.
- Select UPGRADE
- Click on the blank space next to the BIN File box and select your KDZ
- Click Start
- Let it finish (You can see progress on LGUP and your device)
- Device will restart
- Profit!

Hello,
I wanted to ask about the warranty of the device. For instance, I get a V30+ imported from HongKong to my country INDIA & if unfortunately the device needs some kind of service or repair, will LG India accept the device under warranty or will I need to get the service done from LG HK?

Hi,
Does your device come with B&O earphones? & can you please brief me about the warranty of the device since it is from HK.
I am kinda confused, I am planning to buy V30+ and I have two options H930DS and V300S, not sure which one should I buy, I don't see enough development for any of these, V300S is Korean version which will definitely have Korean bloat, on the other hand the H930DS is dual sim and I have a very bad bootloop experience with LG G4 dual sim variant, here in UAE the price of V30+ is almost equal to Pixel 2 XL 64Gb variant.

Hello,
I wanted to ask about the warranty of the device. For instance, I get a V30+ imported from HongKong to my country INDIA & if unfortunately the device needs some kind of service or repair, will LG India accept the device under warranty or will I need to get the service done from LG HK?

Xiaomi Mi A3 - Test Menu Problem - EFS:Invalid

Hello , my name is Nikolay Iliev , I'm from Republic Of Bulgaria , i'm writing you this email about the following problem.
I'm using a mobile phone Xiaomi Mi A3 European Variant - Bought from Mobile Operator A1 in Republic Of Bulgaria.
The phone is Running the latest stock ROM and stock Firmware - 10.3.14.0.PFQEUXM with a locked bootloader.
But when i open the Xiaomi Test Menu by this combination of numbers *#*#64663#*#* pressed in the phone application and i press VersionInfo in the menu , it's written EFS:invalid , but in the same moment i have a valid IMEI NUMBER , SN NUMBER , PHONE S/N and a working Cellular and Wi-Fi Connection - But my MEID NUMBER IS 000000000000000 , and it's written EFS:INVALID.
I please you to explain me is this normal for the Xiaomi MI A3 to have the EFS:INVALID in the test menu , and if it's not normal does this message mean that the EFS Partition of the device is corrupted.

By their understanding the device is corrupted
Not sure what's your point, even on 4PDA people told you that it's normal. Default answer of support team is to perform a factory reset, I doubt that they understood your "problem" (as it's not a problem). Friend of mine has HW issue with his Samsung phone (display failure) and guess what support told him, "please do a factory reset".
