SM-G892A v5 bootloader is root possible? Downgrade to v2? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just as my topic states i need to root my sm-g892a (ATT galaxy S8 active). I am on v5 bootloader tho.... I cant seem to find an available root. I also cant find a way to downgrade the bootloader to v2 or v3 one that has a root.
Could you guys please help me, point me in the right direction, or tell me it isn't possible.
Thank you so much.
Much love and respect.

Read my friend read. There are multiple threads with the instructions on getting root with a locked bootloader. but life is so much easier with it unlocked.
[NUT]'s posts are a good place to start, and the guides at the top od this section

I'll come over to your house and we'll get it rooted. Just joking and I must say there is a lot of outdated info even in the stickies. It took me a lot longer than it should to figure out what was currently correct.

I appreciate the guidance, but I, like the OP, would like to know if there is another way of doing this w/o having to downgrade... no need to belittle the question, after all this is a forum, where by definitions questions are expected...
BTW, anybody has found a way to root 4.4.4 w/o downgrade? Thanks!

Despite all the negative feedback you've gotten by asking your question, YES there is a way. I found it and then created a new thread with the step-by-step.
Unfortunately, it does require unlocking bootloader and a few other tradeoffs such as losing X-reality and your warranty.
For full details: ROOT without downgrade

E2306 Bootloader Unlock not allowed --- is there any way to still Root this phone?

Newbie at this, but i've read several of the threads on here from start to finish to try to figure out how to Root my phone.
E2306 on Marshmallow
File system version 26.3.A.0.131
Either i'm getting mixed info, or just getting myself confused, but I'm not clear whether or not it's possible to root the E2306 when it says Bootloader unlocked: not allowed.
I saw an old thread saying it was possible with Lollipop [link here].
If it's not possible to do with Marshmallow on E2306, can I flash Lollipop onto the phone (as an example, or any other firmware recommended) to be able to either get the Bootloader unlocked allowed, or just to straight up root the phone.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Flashing other firmware will not give you to unlock your bootloader if it's bootloader unlock allow: NO.
You can downgrad to lolipop and then root. There is no yet easy way to root on Marshmallow on locked bootloader. Some guy wrote some explanation about, how to root on locked bootloader, but it's not easy if you are a newbie, and for a lot of people it doesn't seem to work. I also tried, and i ended in bootloop. Maybe i did something wrong, or who knows. I don't have time for testing and trying, because i work a lot.

Forget my previous message. I successfully downgraded to Lollipop 5.0 and it is working fine.
Now, the link for the rootkit for Lollipop 5.0 E2306 appears to be unavailable
I found 2 threads which included this file (see below) but the links to the rootkit indicate that the account has too many downloads against it and has been temporarily disabled (https://www.dropbox.com/s/edse0h6b02...E23xx.zip?dl=0) [it appears to be cubeandcube's account.

Please and thanks.

Can't find it now, but here is this comment. About the same thing, but with less details. Still, it can help, you just need to do a little research.
"Downgrade to lollipop, root, make pre-rooted MM zip with Prf creator, and flash it via recovery. Hey, presto rooted mm with locked Bootloader.

Bump, the Lollipop rootkit for E2306 is unavailable for download at https://www.dropbox.com/s/8icz6059kt3ztws/rootkitXperia_E2363_26.1.B.1.85.zip?dl=0
(says too much traffic on the account, so dl is disabled)
Does anyone still have a copy of the Lollipop E2306 rootkit from cubeandcube? I tried a couple other methods to root the phone and they're not working.

Oppo A57 custom rom needed

OH developers please port a rom to oppo a57
its an awsome device its got 3gb ram snapdragon 435 and 720 p display please guys port it colour os sucks help needed
OP, I know you posted this in the find5 thread as you wanted them to port the rom from this phone but since it's for the a57 I assume this technically isn't the right place to do it, anyhow:
From what I can tell Oppo has restricted access to the bootloader on these phones and we still don't have a working root method. Until either one of these circumstances changes it is unlikely that any development can begin for these phones.
If any senior devs out there have skills in reverse engineering, I would be more than happy to donate to the cause or maybe even flash your betas because at this stage what I have is a well spec'd phone that's as useful as a brick thanks to Oppo's abhorrent ColorOS. I just want root or an unlocked bootloader.
I'm offering $25aus as a starting point and I'm sure others would get on board with me since we all spent the equivalent of $300aus for a P.O.S phone.

Can confirm rooting method works but it seems like it corrupts your NV partition. Make sure you've taken a backup of yours before proceeding. Check back as we nut out a solution.
I currently have my phone rooted and TWRP installed but the bootloader still needs to be unlocked or a tool similar to magictricks.zip needs to be made to enable/install fastboot binaries on this device.
Anyone here familiar with doing this?
I can provide you with backups of the file system.
Let's get these phones free, next stop roms.
Phone you are using?sir

From what I've read, there isn't a high likelihood of us getting fastboot. The main reason bootloader unlocking was possible with previous models was due to Oppo's release of 'project spectrum' firmware.
Our best approach is to make our voices heard on the Oppo forums and/or learn about reverse engineering bootloaders to create a solution.
I'm grateful that we have root (at a cost of signal), it's an excellent starting point at least. Have patience.

Question Can i get the bootloader unlocked of sm-s906u

So basically i got the usa variant and i wanna get this phone rooted is there any way at all that is possible i can pay but free would be cool
No! There is no root, bootloader unlock for United States Snapdragon. Np oem unlock toggle..can't downgrade firmware if bootloader increases.

100% can't, all Snapdragon devices are bootloader locked.
Locked not possible
Can I install 906U1 over 906U though? If I don't need root or something like that, just wanna get rid of the bloatware.
Did that with my s10+ a while ago.
To answer my own question, just did.
Used bifrost to download an appropriate U1 unlocked firmware and a patched odin to install it.
