Google play store downloading app issues - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Title says everything. I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. I tried searching for this topic before posting but didn't see anything. I'm having trouble downloading games and apps off Google play store.
The game I'm trying to download is the gi joe war on cobra. I've had it downloaded and working before, but when I tried to update for the game it simply wouldn't download. So I tried removing it entirely from my device and re download it in its entirety again. Now it just gives me errors everytime I try to reinstall, this isn't the only time I had this issue, but its becoming annoying, cause I see it from time to time again on some apps and games, I'm trying to figure out a solution as to why, I was hoping someone out there knew the cause of this issue.
The device I have is a note 10 plus, android version 10 and its all up to date on its security and patch as well as software version. I have already googled this topic in which I'm asking for help with and have followed tutorials as to how to resolve it, but they proving not to be the solution to the root of the issue, such as.
*Restart device.
*Clearing both data and cache of the app store
*Removing the Google account.
*Force stopping the download manager and then resetting device.
*Checking storage for space (i have about 200gb left on board and like 500 sd)
*Cleared Google play services.
*Uninstal and reinstall Google play updates
Any advice or solutions to fixing this would be nice, it seems to be an issue with my device, but I'm not certain on this.

[Q] Google Maps crashing when opening

Does anyone know how to solve this? I have been searching things for hours and I can't find a solution. There are lot's of threads around here posted, none with a solution.
The problem in a nutshell is that something becomes corrupt after the application is updated. After that, Google Maps no longer opens.
When you try to open the application, it opens for 7 seconds and then closes. The interface loads, but the maps do not show up. I have cleared the cache, uninstalled it, rebooted, even gone as far as deleting the data manually as my phone is rooted. Even after that, and re-installation, the application's state does not change. It still crashes after opening.
This is very frustrating, does anyone have a solution that works? I've even read that formatting the SD card "should" help, but it doesn't.
EDIT:
Figured it out. Looks like the application "Chainfire3D" is to blame here. Just having it installed without any configuration causes the Google Maps / Sky Map application to crash.

Bump? I still haven't figured this out.
Could you please posrt which ROM do you have first?
Also, have you tried doing a complete wipe and reinstall to see if the problem is fixed?
I'm using stock ROM. I'm pretty sure a complete wipe would work. But I'd rather not do that, that shouldn't be the answer to everything here. There must be hundreds of threads out there with no solution posted.
Bump? *sigh*
As you have found no answer besides the obvious one .
As it is the answer to many problems due to the fact that removing an app may not result in a broken file getting removed or some other part of the OS that is corrupted being fixed .
Choice is yours continue sighing and searching > take phone to a service centre who will in the first instance factory reset it or do it yourself .
Alternative might be the Google maps team .

If it's just a corrupt file that needs to be removed then in theory; it's just a matter of deleting the files. I need to make sure it's completely uninstalled, somehow..
Does anyone know where android stores cache files and application data?
I just noticed, "Google Sky Map" doesn't open either. It has the exact same issue where the map data does not show and then the application closes.
Figured it out. Looks like the application "Chainfire3D" is to blame here. Just having it installed without any configuration causes the Google Maps / Sky Map application to crash.

Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped, appears to be location related

I keep getting this error and it seems to only happen when accessing location. I have a Tasker rule to have location turned off and it only turns on for certain apps that require it (Maps, Google Now, Espn apps, etc), every time I open those apps and the rule gets executed this error pops up. I've searched this problem and tried every suggestion, wipe cache/data, uninstall updates, factory reset, reset app defaults, install previous version, nothing seems to work. Version 5.2 seems to not give me the error, but certain Google apps won't function without the updated version, and even if I live without them, Play Services just updates itself (despite turning Auto-Updates off and detaching it from the Market in TB). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, it's an irritating error to frequently receive.
Same problem
I have this exact problem and like the OP have tried everything. Nothing seems to work. Any help would be much appreciated!

I finally figured out what was causing it, I had a Location Consent Disabler mod that was causing it. The new version of Play Services lets you select not to show the pop up again making the mod obsolete. If you have that mod, uninstall and it should go away
Hey I too had the same mod. thanks for point it out.

Error with Google Play Services and the Play Store

Hello!
I just upgraded to Lollipop using a pre-rooted zip. It seems to be working well however I have hit a significant road block. When I first booted I had a notification instructing me to update Google Play services, however no progress was being made within the Play Store app. I have other pending updates that will not update as well. I have tried manually downloading the correct Play Services and Play Store apps however I continue to have issues (updates are hanging at "downloading"). I have noticed some wonky behavior in general which I believe is related to Play services not working correctly. I have attempted to Force close them and wipe the cache and data for each, including Framework and the Download manager, but this doesn't seem to have fixed anything. I also attempted to remove my Google account and re-enter it.
Does anyone have an advice before I factory reset? I am really trying to avoid this. Thanks in advance.
Update: Welp. I couldn't figure it out and so I thought a factory reset would fix it. WRONG. I have no idea what is going on but I have factory reset the phone and I am still having this issue. I am seriously at a loss.

[Q] Problem with play store. FC + No connection.

Hello people!
I've been through alot of solutions and i still couldn't fix it. Hence this thread.
An hour ago i started my regular update run, updating 6 apps. After updating the first app, play store force closed. This didn't happen to me for ages, so i thought let's start by clearing the cache of download manager and google play store. This didn't work, so i tried uninstalling the updates. and rebooting the phone.
At this point play store worked again, so i tried updating another app. But after this updating, the fc was back. So i repeated the cache clearing and found somewhere that if i did that with google framework, play would probably come back. But it didn't.
So after this i rebooted again and started google play. And it started. But now things got worse. Google play gives me a no connection retry since then. Even after clearing dalvik and rebooting again.
So i guess my question is clear. How do i get play working again on my phone?
Thanks in advance for answering!
P.s. I also found a solution which said to remove and add the google account, but on my xperia z1 with 4.4.4 i can't seem to find that option?

No more download progress notification on Adroid P

Hey there,
I already posted about this issue on Samsung forums, but since nobody could help me there I'm asking here, maybe some of you have an idea.
After just installing the Android P beta over Android O without wiping anything, this problem doesn't occur. Just since doing a full wipe I have this issue:
When installing or updating any app in the PlayStore I don't get a download progress shown in the notifcation panel anymore. Also I don't get notifications about finishing updating apps.
I could read that many OnePlus 6 users had this issue on Android P, but the solutions that worked for them don't work for me.
I tried things like wiping Download-Manager, Google Play Store, Google Play Services, Google Services Framework and even wiping the whole system multiple times, nothing worked.
This issue does not make my device unusable, but still it's very annoying, so I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi there, I'm having the very same issue, even after updating to February build...
It's worth noting the problem concerns available updates notifications as well.
I reached out to Google Support via the help button in the Play Store app, but they weren't able to provide help (only told me to uninstall play store updates, thus reverting the app to its factory settings, without success).
Hope someone figures this out, it's annoying to have and go check for possible updates.
Since doing everything possible (even wiping system) did not work for me I can't really help you I guess. For me a system update fixed the issue.
