Remap Bixby Button - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Themes, Apps

Wassup Guys,
I just installed a custom rom & rooted my phone using latest firmware. Sadly Samsung updated Bixby in that kinda manner, that I am not able to remap my button normally with the appropriate app from the Play Store...does someone know a solution? I tried SideActions, but they actually want money through IAP in orde to get this work.
Greetings

s20 has not bixby button. what do you mean?

OneUi 3.0 has this ability.
Or.. you could wait and rumor has it that a build of LineageOS could be getting dropped today.

Instant Voice Note Button

Hello!
On non-XDA PocketPC's there is a button for making an instant voice note... I am wanting the same on my new XDA, I am using the Special Edition Rom and so have Jogbutton installed, so I'm wondering if there is a command-line option or something like that, to launch Notes and start recording a voice note... or is there some other solution?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

[Q] Will google now replace S-voice in stock jellybean update. s3

I've searched everywhere and cant find the answer to this.
Does anyone know if the stock jelly bean rom will ship with s voice?
Will unrooted users be able to replace the functionality of s voice with google now?
S voice and Google Now are not mutually exclusive: you can have both on the device and both are included.
The default voice recognizer can be set to either.

both are different
Yes sire

The answer is No. S-Voice was from Samsung, and Samsung will remain it our S3.
thanks for the help, i havent been impressed by s voice and im eager to try google now
S-voice isn't that bad, it understands me but is slow and Siri is better. Google Now beats Siri so I'd like to think there was a way of making that the default voice recognizer program (like if you double tap home button it brings up that instead)
Doubletap-Home is a Samsung-Touchwiz feature, not an Android feature. It is thus hardwired to S-Voice.
FYI, hold menu button to open google now
then s voice as usual is double click home button

Other apps such as Skyvi can overtake it though. If you install Skyvi and double-tap the home button, it'll ask you if which app you would like to open.
No, because Samsung publishes their ROMs.. They will Leave S-Voice, and in my opinion, it's good that way.
You just need to give Samsung's apps a chance

So will the double tap menu be available from within any screen/app? or will I need to be on the home screen first Like in ICS?

New software update

The tab S3 received a new 250 MB+ update today. Bug and stability improvements. Also HDR Netflix now works (P.S. make sure you are in cinema display mode for best viewing experience).

Got the update as well. Android 7.0 still and only the August security patch but I did test and confirm that the BlueBorne bug was patched which I am happy about. Still waiting for that patch on my S8 :/
Glad to get hdr for Netflix finally!
But I was reaaally hoping for theme support too, or any way to turn that notification menu dark.
The update is not out for T825 :/
I tested out the LTE version SM-T825 of this tablet as someone said that this version doesn't have the wifi bug but that is not the case, it still has the very same drain issue. I did notice, however, that the drain issue went away when I was at a friend's place using an old integrated comcast router/modem, but that brings little comfort since it seems that most common routers do cause the drain on this tablet. And again in my home with the 2X WRT1900AC, my old Tab S2, S7 and current S8+ had no issues with wifi power drain so this is definitely something in the Tab S3 that causes the issue with most modern routers (tried just the 2.4 Ghz channel, an ASUS 68U and N11, an older netgear and the drain was still present). This on the latest I2 firmware.
Is Netflix working with Magisk? Netflix was installed as a system app on my tablet. I updated the firmware and rooted the tablet with magisk, but Netflix force closes on first attempt to launch it. Afterwards it loads a black screen.
Mine was updated as well but can't see HDR logo on supported titles on Netflix. What's wrong? Am I the only one affected?
I have a 4 screen + UltraHD plan, so that's not the case.
Have you confirmed that it's actually necessary to switch into AMOLED Cinema mode to get the full HDR color space? I was hoping that I could leave the tablet on Basic and that it would automatically switch to the proper mode when an HDR video was played. It would be a pain to have to switch back and forth every time, especially given the number of taps to get to that setting.
Samsung keyboard version on Tab s3
Can you please tell me the version of the Samsung keyboard?
Also, I have a Tab A 10.1 with S pen. There's no update available for the Samsung keyboard. Is it possible to uninstall it and install lastest version? My present keyboard doesn't support some new languages. Appreciate any help. [QUTE=jamesrick80;73947758]The tab S3 received a new 250 MB+ update today. Bug and stability improvements. I downloaded latest v2 series and installed it without any problems on my Tab S3.

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded and installed the apk but unfortunately the list of available languages for download doesn't change. All the newer devices such as my Galaxy Note 8 or your tab S3 have some new languages and my native language is one of them. It's available on my Note 8 but not available on Tab A 10.1 even though now the keyboard version is same. I guess there's no way we can fix this.

Xiaomi Laser projector

Hi, I have recently purchased a Xiaomi laser projector. I like it a lot. It has the same menu as Chinese version of xiaomi mi box. The problem is that the projectors menu is in Chinese as well. I have made a little review on the menu here https://youtu.be/yPDoM2FYekE but I really want android 7, or at least 6 but a European version. Does anyone here knows someone who participates in building these roms so I can ask them??
you can install an English setup app
I am interested in buying this projector too, I saw an YouTube video saying there was a software that you can install to alter the setup setting so that there are in English. If you have not already seen them, I may try to play around with the android version however it may just be easier to attach it to another box such as the android shield TV and use it that way instead of killing yourself with Chinese apps and trying to upgrade Android.
It's pretty easy to change to English and install any app you want. I installed YouTube but you can't sign into an account due to no Google services pre installed. It's super responsive and great picture quality. It would be awesome if someone has a chance to make a rom for it or work out a way to get the play store and a launcher to run on it
I have exactly the same problem.
Although you can install an app to change the language to English, 95% of the ROM is still in Chinese.
This device is not even listed in XDA-developers long list of devices. I am not sure how many developers will spend 1500+$ to buy, develop and test roms on this projector.
It would be great to have an international ROM based on Android TV similar to the Mi Android Box.
Meanwhile, I connect my chromecast to the projector and it works just fine. Of course, this means that I am not using any of the "Smart" functionalities of the device.
hey if someone found an answer I would really love to know too. Got some english which is fine, but the miui tv version 1.3.63 on android 6.0.1 is a pain to have. Bloat ware apps everywhere that just reappear on uninstall.
Also no playstore is an issue. The netflix I have is not really fitted to screen size and also remote does not reach certain parts. so its cut off.
I dare not meddle with it at the moment, becasue I think the software can maybe root and do something about it? But what about the hdmi and av inputs. I am just worried if i meddle with it, I lose these inputs.
HELP if someone found an answer I would really love to know too. The miui tv version 1.3.63 on android 6.0.1 is dead the playstore not work in this version. HELP

You could try aptoide tv which is a play store alternative , you may need to side load it.
Unfortunately I do not have this device to try and create a ROM and I have never created one.
I get the impression its not that hard, I would just make a backup of the exiting Android should things go bad and then try Lineage OS which you can download for free. If I am not being clear I am talking about using a custom ROM with the latest Android Lineage OS.. I did this on an old Kindle tablet and had no issue. Well maybe I am not being completely truthful my first attempt at flashing I almost bricked the device, it took at lot of nerve and patience to make it work. Here a link below with more details on Flashing as I am not talking about an old man in a long rain coat.

Hello everyone!
The 12 september xiaomi will release a version of the mi laser projector for eu with oreo 8.0 and android tv, i have the projector in chinese version, are there any chance to bring the update on my device? At least it would be a simple flash of a oreo rom, or not?
Hi!
I also have Chinese version and would love to install the firmware for EU.
Normally the update should work via the USB with downloaded FW. So if Xiaomi publish the update we can give it a try. The question is whether the FW will check the region or any other thing before installation?
In the meantime, is there any manual how to make a backup or rooting via the Android Development on PC?
Hi,
I have the Chinese version with just a little bit English settings I would love to have the eu rom
what would be needed that someone can help us to get the EU-Rom on the China- Version?

There may be some hope for your request as on Oct 06, 2018 a user @servo386 was able to use abd and TWRP (loaded but not installed) to make a Nandroid copy of his v01 ROM (Chinese version). A few users have encouraged him to post on XDA. He is currently refining the process and trying to install Magisk for full root.
You need to be aware that the Android Oreo full English ROM, for this projector, has some draw backs. One of the biggest is that Xiaomi Oreo likely did a rush software job as they have dropped some very important projector specific settings/functionality. Primary to a lot of users is that 3D is no longer an option and that color correction controls are lacking between the two ROMS. On the other hand you do get working Google Playstore integration.
Also despite the recent success of @servo386 no TWRP nandroid backup of the Oreo version currently exists nor has the method used by @servo386 been tried by a Oreo Mi PJ owner. It's still encouraging news though.
All right, you can see the european version test here : http://www.passionhomecinema.fr/blo...iaomi-dlp-version-francaise-lavis-de-gregory/

Just in case it might be useful, here's an app I made to access engineering menu.
I have this projector and I wasn't able to install Google Services on it. I tried very many versions. Currently Im using it with Chromecast connected to its HDMI port. But I would love to see some custom ROM for it.
Android 8 Dolby/DTS
My international Projector has Android 8. I have problems with DTS and Dolby on the AVR. Here only stereo arrives. Whether Netflix, Plex, Media Server ... Sometimes restarts help. With another Android TV box directly on the AVR it works flawlessly. That is very disappointing.

Here is a more active forum with many owners of this projector both the V1 and V2 (international) models. You are likely to have better luck with that forum's thread. This one is more oriented to modding the projector's OS than Home Theater related experiences such as your describing. At the very least the owners can tell you if they have similar experiences or not.

Having a look on the net for you, I came across this post, if you click on "Jump to solution" The guys says it is possible to do this with Bixby. I am unable to check this as I am on a custom rom with no Bixby installed. Hope it helps.
