TVision HUB - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

I couldn't find a specific forum thread for the TVision HUB but wanted to know if anyone here has experience with it and whether it has the ability to sideload apps?
I know it has ChromeCast capabilities and it's used for the TVision channel stream lineup but outside of that I know nothing else.
As a T-Mobile/Sprint customer, you can purchase the HUB & the remote for $49.99
I'm not interested in the TVision service as of yet but the device itself seems interesting (if it can be tweaked like a Chromecast or Firestick etc)

Thanks I just want to know if apps can be sideloaded and / or whether it has access to the Play Store?
Sure there are other devices out there, but what I like about the TVision HUB is the remote

You Should Be Able To Sideload Apps On This, And The Google Play Store Should Be Installed (The Tv Version)

This may be a newly released device from TMobile but it, being an officially certified legit AndroidTV device, shares all the capabilities of other devices on market. Google, Verizon, Xiaomi, Dynalink, nVidia et al all have similar products that are very popular and that share similar capabilities. That's what standards are all about. 99% of core features are replicated with a few minor variations added along the way.
As to your sideload question, of course you can sideload phone/tablet apps. Bear in mind, non AndroidTV apps sideloaded won't show on your home screen. You can access them under apps menu or you can tweak system by installing sideload launcher from the playstore. This will allow them to appear on home screen/desktop of your device.
You may consider /r/androidtv forum on reddit.com as it focuses exclusively on the official androidTV variants of tv boxes
Good luck

yes i have the device, bought it from tmobile. it has a play store and you can remote in with ADBLink and add files. Id suggest going into the play store to grab a file manger and then you can explore the device directories. the service itself is actually very good. we canceled cox cable.

So with Tvision ending and Youtube TV not working on this device, there is an alternative, but that is if we can get this to actually work correct. Here at Xda developers Project Slimbox is for Amlogic devices and I believe they have a device working with the S905Y2 processor. it would be nice to see if we could actually get that working on this device. Tmobile told me that they will be giving account credit for each person that purchased one of these devices.

I was able to get the block names, but as you know there is no external sdcard so it makes it difficult to backup partitions or anything else. I was able to connect to it via adb wifi with no issue.

[Q] Feeling like a red-headed stepchild

So has this happened to anyone else?
You're exploring the handful of apps on your 3D that you haven't even gotten a chance to look at yet, and you find several that seem really cool, albeit a tad repetitive (here I'm thinking Dock, Media Share, Connected Media..etc.) and you think "wow, awesome, I can stream movies from this phone to my other devices" or "wow, awesome, I can transfer HDMI video from this phone to other devices"....
..and then you realize that to do ANY of these cool things, you'll need either for the other device (e.g., your PC) to be DLNA compatible, or else you'll need to go out and buy an HDMI cord...or else a docking station.
I guess this post is 1/2 complaint and 1/2 question, but to be fair I should ask the question before I complain too much: do I HAVE to have a DLNA/HDMI cable/Dock station to do some/most of these cool functions? I mean obviously I can copy/paste files onto other devices--or even doing so wirelessly using bluetooth, Samba, etc..---but it seems like the coolest functions all require stuff I don't have, and I guess I'm especially confused about DLNA since my laptop is a dell from last September...seems new enough to have supported DLNA...
Alternately, is there a workaround for DLNA? A program or device or add-on I can use to make my laptop compatible?
OK I guess that's my rant, sorry and thanks for listening...
I'm no DLNA expert, but I think that any PC/Laptop running Windows that has WIFI can support DLNA, I'm pretty sure its just a matter of having the software.
Also you should be able to send data to your TV through a XBOX 360 or Playstation 3, I believe they both support DLNA.

All you have to do to make your computer work with DLNA is to go into windows media player, make sure WMP is in full screen, then in the tool bar click stream, then make sure "allow remote control of my player" is selected, and "automatically let devices play my media" is selected. then click" more streaming options" and see if there are any devices found, then make sure none are blocked. Now your done.
EDIT: make sure your all your devices are on the same wifi network for this to work

There's really only two major services for streaming, Airplay (Apple) and DLNA (Everyone else). You've got plenty of options as mentioned above including any windows device, ps3, etc.
Awesome ill try once my power comes back on ...thanks!!

Scotbot this is great! Now I can stream my media from my phone to my windows media player--very nice! I followed your steps, and then went into media share and enabled certain folders to be shared, and voila!
I guess the only better thing would be if I could actually use "Connected Media" to share with WMP--b/c then the phone would be the controller from what I understand. As it is, Media Share simply lets WMP access my phone, but Connected Media actually lets me play a movie on my phone that then automatically streams to other devices...I'm guessing that actually requires legit DLNA...?
Thanks for the post! I can now send 2D videos and photos to my laptop and my Samsung LCD TV! Works great!!!

UPD: I found a translated description of this TV box here
I think it is quite good TV Box.
Hmmm 1GB ram & 4GB rom don't bother with this there's just not enough memory to do anything + way over priced too.
The remote looks cool though I would say this is ment for the Chinese market
got it yesterday and was my biggest mistake to buy it,i would not recommend to anyone this one cause is in Chinese language and there was no warning at all on gearbest.com that this item does not have English lang, going to take it back and order another one and better
can change to english very easy
i recommend tis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-6qkn6awJQ to change to English. go to http://assets.sfcdn.org/apk/com.shafa.market/236/d4b163f/com.shafa.market_4.5.6_international.apk copy to a usb drive and follow the youtube video. if you manage to change to English use the baidu keybord with eng .i hop this will help you. i have in stall kodi on this box its not bad i think.

Nice. I just bought one of these units but I'm worried about a firmware update wiping out the ability to root when I connect to wifi. Can we disable auto-updates?

I have lost root before, with auto update of my MIBOX ( I have earlier 2GB version) than I rooted again, installed Play Store, all my apps and I purchased Super User app Pro version it has ability to keep Root even after update. And now I'm not afraid and update my MIBOX to the latest firmware.

I ordered 2 in gearbest today.
at flash sale 79 u$s each, and 2 xiaomi joysticks for 20 bucks each....
I hope I can change language....
In the worst case, I use a custom launcher.
If it can be rooted, language can be changed with no problem
Hi, you can install apex luncher. Than it will add a new "settings" icon. From there you can choose any language you want
Interesting the new Xiaomi Mi TV Box 3 Enhanced
The Xiaomi Box 3(S905) with one usb port only can also be rooted and works woth google apps also.
you just have to flash the .106 rom, then go setting change the language to English (because the .106 rom natively supports English) and then you can use kongoroot to root it via computer and USB to USB Cable after activating adb. once done you can install Gapps and change the default laucher and disable all the Mi bloatware , this way you can have more space and less ads on the device.

Hi guys
Can anyone who has this tell me if it has an IR receiver? I want to use it with a Logitech Harmony 650. The Logitech site lists it as a compatible device but I have my doubts as I know the remote uses bluetooth, and I've seen conflicting reports. Thanks!
I got one last weekend. I put my sunvell t95 on the top shelf of my closet. This is the box. It only has one USB port, I use a usb hub and a external hard drive, a usb to Ethernet adapter. The true Google experience is perfect on this box. Plus mobdro and kodi. I still want to root to do some build prop editing when someone figures out how to root this. The s905 cannot handle this box. It is the best buy around. Only thing I wish is if it was a Huawei box because they should have done more with there box. But Xiaomi and leeco have past them in the home entertainment market.

There are many android apps that will allow you to watch live channels. but you have to expect buffering especially when there is a pression on the servers. if you want to enjoy iptv. you better buy a subscription. or keep updating and looking for servers.

Honestly don't buy this box. it is running android 4.4. and nowadays many apps require android lollipop. plus the amlogic s802 boxes did not release ant upgrade to force us to buy bew boxes. so leave it and go get a better box. unless you want best quality with nvidia shield

5 Very Useful Apps For Android TV

5 Very Useful Apps For Android TV
Android TV is pretty great when you're using it with YouTube, Netflix, Hulu or if you're casting stuff from your phone. However you might have noticed that it's lacking a lot of interesting apps in its watered down version of the Play store. You'll skim through it really quick, realize there is nothing good and then you'll back out. Before you stick a fork in an electrical outlet due to disappointment, how about I show you some of these useful Android TV apps that don't get a whole lot of attention.
Sideload Launcher - Android TV
Most of us probably find ourselves sideloading a lot of apps onto Android TV to makeup for the lack of ones available on the Play store. Since the Android TV launcher only displays apps downloaded from the Play store, you can only access sideloaded apps through your settings. That's garbage. Fear not, Sideload Launcher takes care of that problem by replacing the stock launcher so you can see all of your apps.

[Root] TV Boot
I don't know why Android TV does not have a restart option. I always find myself in a situation where I need to restart my nexus player, so I have to get up and travel across my seemingly endless living room to unplug it. I had both my legs replaced with some really flimsy hollow plastic ones that collapse under my own weight whenever I try to use them. I should stop volunteering for those medical trials. Anyways the point is that the TV Boot app will let you restart or shutdown Android TV from your phone. That's really all there is to it. This will work on rooted devices only.
Download
Mirror Beta
Ever head of ClockworkMod? Of course you have. You've probably used their custom recovery at some point while modifying your phone. You've probably never heard of their Mirror app. This app lets you cast your Android screen to Fire TV, Chromecast or Apple TV. It also works as a screen recorder which comes in handy. It's one of the best apps for screen casting, especially if you have to use both an Apple TV and A Chromecast regularly.
Download
Notifications for Android TV
Notifications on your Android TV is a great way to broadcast to a room full of people that you're fighting with your girlfriend. This app will let you push any notifications that you'd receive on your phone right to your TV. You can scroll through every notified message on the Android TV in fullscreen mode. You can even change the settings individually for each application.
Download
Santi: Instagram on Android TV
One of the big social media apps that is missing entirely on Android TV in instagram. With Santi, you'll be able to login with your account and browse the photos from the people you follow. The only feature this is missing the is ability to like posts or follow/unfollow users. Aside from that it's got everything you need!

I think what you'll need for that is an app that streams live TV. These apps do exists but they'll only work through your TV provider. So if I have Comcast TV, I can download the Comcast app and get live TV that I can stream to my Nexus player. Check to see if your TV provider has an Android compatible app that lets you live stream TV.

T95 MAX-SCV2 - GREAT playback and stability.but 3gb ram, one dead usb 2.0 port, no clock on front display no DTS audio codecs
What this box deserves is a firmware that has :
Android 7.0, SP6330 Wifi chip support.
This fw "T95 MAX-SCV2.img" from which is this...
For testing the firmwares i use two youtube videos. search youtube for "motion video test"
And
They both test the videoplayback and system interruptions which i find quite appropriate for testing these stream boxes.
i went ahead and flashed this rom this time and again terrible performance on video playback, can anybody tell me what the problem here can be?
Same device, same Vendor , one plays videos like an air tv, other is like from 2005
have you tried both hardware and software decoders if you're using a video app that supports both (like mxplayer or night video player) ?

Yes , stremio 's internal player cant play it , although it(stremio) can on android 9 OS,on the other hand, unlike stremio's player, the OS's prebuild "tvdplayer" can play it fine with sound.
i also tried the firmware : miniH6-public-3Gddr-20181113-update.img
It is And 7 - Very Smooth - wifi bt works but
3gb ram , one dead usb port, no clock , DS4 not pair - bad launcher.
Have not found anything higher than android v7 that can play videos without hitching.
The only common difference between jerky firmwares and the solid ones are the different in base clock of CPU which is only 300mhz higher(1800mhz instead 1489mhz in the jerky ones.)
it is not possible to copy the wifi-bt files from the Jerky playing os to the Better playing os via folder copy paste right? these are all embeded files...
Hi I3ordo
I have the same device as yours. Did you manage to find the fully working Android 7 ROM? Or did you manage to make full use of the device in some other way?
Thank you!
Use this version, found out no issue. Wifi speed test more tham 300mbps (my fiber is 300mbps, not able to test more than it). Bluetooth, 1080p60fps no issue. LAN cable test is less than 100mbps (maybe due to old version of lan port). Summore this version is easy to root and support latest version of magisk (dont ask me how to root, lots of steps in google, so search by yourself)

I have the firmware with working wifi. it's the "TX6_H6_8822-9_4Gddr_20190722 " version which has the wifi. Tanix released 2 variants of TX6 model which looks exactly the same . 1st is "TX6" which is shown in the official website of Tanix with Dual band wifi & BT, 2nd model is budget friendly model "TX6-A", which has single band wifi & no BT.
