Fake Battery capacity oneplus nord - OnePlus Nord Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello everyone, I've been using a oneplus nord for the last three days and the phone is brand new. One thing I noticed is that the battery life is not that great considering it has a 4115Mah so I took a look at Aida64 battery stats when charged to 100% and it looks like the maximum capacity is 3500 Mah. I found this a bit weird since it's impossible that the battery degradated so quick and so much most of all. So I wanted to ask if you re willing to share a screenshot of aida64 of the battery capacity at 100% just to make sure if it's a single device problem or a common issue. Thanks everybody

I guess you have gotten a defect or the app is reading incorrectly since I just checked on mine and it's 4115mAh

If you're getting 8-9 hours SOT every cycle I wouldn't worry that much about stats. Those apps can be off, even accubattery needed an update because it couldn't handle the battery of the 8 series.

You tell me lol

Mines almost WiFi only, I don't get out much and I don't play graphic intensive games. So if your almost full on data it's not bad imho.
EDIT: you could try accubattery and see if it's more accurate after some charge-decharge cycles?

My is 1396mAh when fully charged. So I googled, and found this:
"On many devices the standard Android Battery API is inadequately implemented, and fails to provide proper charge counter information for the battery. If you want, you can hide the incorrect charge counter information from the Battery page by unchecking the charge counter option in the AIDA64 Settings."

I had roughly the same value. Maybe accubattery isn't reading the values properly? There was an update regarding the 8 series because it couldn't reed the values of "2" batteries. Maybe it's bugged for the Nord too?

Accubattery thinks that my battery is 6879mAh. And that is after several charges. So yeah, I think we can safely assume these number don't mean s****.

I'm testing BatteryGuru now and it shows it right...

[Q] Will an everyday battery charge harm my phone or my battery?

Hello dear members
I'd like to ask if an everyday charge will harm my battery.
It's my first week with my phone, and I can't keep my hands off it
As a result, battery runs out every day!! So I charge it...
Will something happen to the battery?
thanks in advance
This phone has a litium ion battery. They don't have a memory effect but in the first time they need some time to become the full potential. So it doesn't matter if you charge the phone every day.

Thank you so much!!!!
It's a relief
To maintain better battery life it might be a good idea to make sure that u dont fully drain the battery
That shouldn't be a problem the most battery's should have electronic inside to prevent this but I can't guarantee it. You can read also the Wikipedia article about lithium ion batteries it's quite interesting.

It is better for you to charge daily and often when the battery still has charge and not leave it until the battery is totally flat.
Thanks so much everyone Point taken
I'll never let it fall under 10%.
Well, Battery is average. If it weren't for the 2.3.3 bug, it would rock! In order for it to be normal, I keep ****ting Services.(under Services menu) like Voice talk, SocialHub(which drains a lot of battery) etc
Anyways, thanks to everyone

Isn't it actually opposite, I mean somewhere I heard that if a Full charge is given after a Full drain then the battery gets conditioned (optimized I think), can't remember the source but I do remember the fact.

I'm glad this thread exists. I'm so used to running a battery down to the minimum before charging it that I probably would have been in that habit for my SGS2. I'd actually come here to ask the same question now I've been through my first four or five "full" -> "red" -> "charge to full while off" cycles.
Is it confirmed both from the SGS2 & LION technology point of view to now keep it charged up, even if using only half/quarter charges etc to do so?
My battery is giving me around 40 hours a time so not too bad but I'd like to keep it running as well as I can.......

Nope. Li-ion batteries these days prefer constant top-ups and full drain actually kills it faster. Totally opposite of what people have been taught over years of NiCD battery use that I've got friends who absolutely refuse to charge their iPhones unless it's at 10% or less. Their loss.

No that's only good to do once in a while. Full discharges daily put stress on the cells and wear out li ion batteries quicker.

Yes it's common for all lithium ion batteries to charge as often as possible. Its true for all phones on the market today and quite a lot of discussion on this is all around the web.
Also a replacement stock battery for any cell phone today is around 20 dollars, so really you can't do much wrong since its so cheap to buy a new OEM battery replacement.
Thanks for the replies. I think this will catch a few people out so hope the thread doesn't get missed amongst all the other battery ones!
Looks like I'd better change my charging habits!

Battery suddenly worse as well as charging time

I recently charged my phone overnight and suddenly the battery has gotten worse. I thought it was an error with the ROM possibly so I updated it and to no avail. On Ampere the battery health is good but the actual speed of charging fluctuates from 10ma to 1830ma (but it also peaked at 4880 so take that with a grain of salt). The battery has also been lasting a lot less than before. I'm running the default Global ROM. Any help is appreciated as currently I'm charging it fully to try and calibrate it.

seemingly rooting & deleting battery data file is the only solution. I'm hoping to recalubrate it naturally by totally discharging & recharging it to 100 upon normal usage don't know if it'll harm my battery though :/

Does your phone charge quickly again? I'm following a guide I found on Android Pit and I hope it helps.
yeah I've noticed bad battery on last 2 updates, 7.3.6 and 7.3.7 global rom. Looking in installed apps, runing, I can lots of processes stuck on restarting all the time.
My battery was actually charging normally but the max amount of usage was like 4 to 5 hours SOT and in normal use one day and a half... This happened to me after flashing CM13, though i don't charge the developer for this "Problem" as it might not be the dev's fault but mine...

but anyway, i think i jumped the gun on saying the problem was in 7.3.7 as well, as today's testing seems to show is back to something like normal again.. but I'm still going to keep an eye on it over the next few days

Question related battery

Hi,
My S9+ is two days old now. But as per "Phone Info - Samsung" app it is showing battery health as 94.14%.
It should be 100% or near to 100%, is not it?

They can't be taken as accurate, accubattery makes a reasonable attempt to estimate based on charge current and battery wear averages but still isn't great, as you can see there is a difference between the two apps.
That said accubattery showed my health at 92%, I reinstalled and it's now at 99%.
Only way to be sure is to take it to a Samsung store

Your stats look pretty standard to me, it's probably a bit better than mine, especially as you're playing games (I've attached some of mine) - you can't trust a lot of the screenshots that show 48 hours with 8 hours SOT
In regards to accubattery, I'd suggest doing a number of charge cycles before making any judgement based on it. Also it is an estimate so not going to be exactly accurate

Battery Drain and heating after Color OS update for August Security Patch

Does anyone facing this problem of battery drain and heating of device after August Color OS Update.
Standby drain is 4-5 % per hour and screen on time is less than 5 hours.
I checked all the settings uninstalled all apps and checked the network settings, rebooted, checked in airplane mode also but the battery drain is the same.
Even while charging it is going more warm than before. If anyone is facing the issue please respond.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has very less reach to people and Oppo is not bothered about its device.

When I got the Mobile the first thing I did was update the patch.....so I am unaware of before and after stuff.....but It got heated only once while downloding and charging simultaneously (41°c). Also it gets a bit heated while charging when the AC / fan in the room is off(I guess that's normal).
From my past mobile experiences, a reset could help u out (take backup of data before reset).
U could also check in Battery setting which app is consuming more power.

I have did the reset and checked, and while charging only its getting heated up which I think is normal. But what about battery drain?
Can u check what is your standby battery drain, my previous Oneplus 5 has drain less than 1% per hour with AOD but Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is taking 4% per hour and that is huge.
Hello anybody please respond about standby drain of reno 10x zoom.

Yes and daily its different app and just which app i use more thats only showing
And also when i check whole days power consumption , highest is whatsapp with 11 percent and the total mah used is 218mah for a whole day.
So, if 218 percent is 11 percent a whole day and consider i charged once fully, total for 100 percent is around 2000mah.
So where the rest 2000 mah is going, and its going when the screen is off.
I dont know what to do.
I have worse problem than this. Battery is draining at 10% per hour rate. And strange thing is that even if I switch off mobile, it will drain battery with same rate. May be hardware problem.

I have a non-rooted S20+ and looking for an app to tell me specifically what's running and taking up what battery drain. I used to use better Battery Stats back in the day when I had a rooted device, so hoping there is something relatively similar that I can use. Any suggestions?

Any other suggestions in case this doesn't do what I'm needing? I'm definitely having some rogue app draining battery, have only started having bad draining issues within the last 1-3 months...

It is well known that the Exynos overheat and manage the battery less well than the Snapdragon.
If it heats up a lot, don't use it while charging, it will recharge faster because beyond a certain temperature (it seems to me that Samsung has set it to 42º) the charge is cut off.
I use "Battery Charging Monitor".
