By deeply integrating the HUAWEI CG Kit, Cocos can utilize the power and efficiency of Vulkan's ultimate rendering capabilities, which are based on underlying algorithms. This collaboration both improves the Cocos engine's 3D game rendering capabilities on mobile terminals, and helps developers produce great games with crystal clear frames on Cocos platforms.
Developers can utilize the lifelike materials and lighting effects delivered by the optimized CG Kit to craft true-to-life games with incredible ease.
CG Kit is a new open capability released with HMS Core 5.0. It provides Android mobile clients with the Vulkan rendering framework, so they can render plug-ins, and extensions.
CG Kit features:
l A high-performance rendering framework with atom-level capabilities, covering materials, models, lighting, and post effects, which helps developers apply Vulkan more easily when developing games.
l Rendering plug-ins leverage the anti-aliasing algorithm and multi-thread rendering components.
l Extensions including Smart Cache and Pre-rotation, which improve graphics rendering performance.
In the future, this Kit will bring revenue surprises to developers with more cutting-edge AI-powered rendering technologies on mobile platforms, including the super-resolution technology, automatic 3D face modeling, and automatic animation generation.

Huawei Launches Discover the Huawei Mobile Services speech in Android Bangkok Conference

On December 20, “Thailand Android Developers Conference” was held in Bangkok as scheduled. At the event, Huawei Thailand Device Min Uswachoke was invited to attend the event as a guest. This presentation focuses on “Discovering the HMS”, attracting more than 200 developers.
This activity consists of four phases. After introducing the current development situation of Huawei Device in Thailand, Min demonstrated Huawei 1+8+N All-scenario intelligent ecosystem driven by mutually-reinforcing hardware and software to achieve seamless AI life.
The second phase of the activity focuses on on “onboarding and migrating technology”. The first phase is from the AppGallery. Among the more than 7.5 million Huawei smartphone users in Thailand, the monthly active users exceed 2.5 million and the number increases by about 21% each month. Then, Min demonstrated the steps of releasing the AppGallery to onsite developers, helping them quickly and efficiently get a preliminary and clear understanding of the AppGallery.
The last part, which is the most concerned of onsite developers, is related to the HMS Core. To create a new alternative HMS ecosystem, Huawei launches HMS Core, which provides a series of G+H solutions to cover more models. Min introduced the Ads Kit, IAP Kit, and ML Kit of HMS Core based on the most concerned fields of application developers in Thailand.
Monetization is a hot topic for mobile app developers. The HMS Core Ads Kit has multiple advertisement types, including Banner, Incentive Video, splash ads, rollout ads, which can be provided as higher revenue rate for app developers. After the HMS Core Ads Kit is integrated with Comico, the CPM grew by 50% from October to December.

For the first part, Jimmy Kang from HUAWEI briefly described the overall HMS ecosystem and the current development of the AppGallery. The HMS ecosystem aims to build an All-scenario intelligent ecosystem driven by mutually-reinforcing software and hardware by connecting the mobile application ecosystem and hardware ecosystem.
Since 2019, more than 90,000 mobile applications have chosen to integrate HMS Core. The integrated mobile applications have increased by 123% in one year. This makes the AppGallery one of the world's top three application markets, with an average monthly number of 5 million users.
The HMS Core capability promotion focuses on AI and positioning. Li Mingnan, from HUAWEI product department, supports the ecosystem development, and provides remote lectures. The HMS Core application case "Baimiao" demonstrates that ML Kit can help visually impaired persons in terms of text, image, and speech recognition. In addition, the integration case of “SG Busleh” in Singapore demonstrates how AI brings convenience to public life.
Location Kit is a leading position in the industry with its high precision, low power consumption, and indoor and outdoor supporting. Applications integrated with Location Kit rely on the super GNSS technology and pseudo-range 3D model and shadow matching (SDM). This feature provides high-precision positioning capabilities, enabling applications to accurately identify roadsides where users are located. Even in urban canyons, this feature is easy to ride. This function has been tested in 23 cities around the world, including Singapore, Bangkok, Malaysia, Beijing, and Dubai.
In Singapore, ComfortDelGro, a local travel industry integration case, is integrated with the Map Kit and Location Kit of HMS Core. The average weekly download volume increases by 5 times and the industry competitiveness increases by 14%, demonstrating the huge potential of HMS Core.
The lab visit was held in Singapore's DigiX Lab. The lab was divided into 18 screens on mobile phones, TVs, and tablets. Melissa and DTSE of the Asia Pacific Cloud Service Operation Dept based on the topics that developers are concerned about, presented core functions of HMS Core, demos and related solutions focusing on AI, AR, Game Service, Location Site, and Map Kit, and content related to AppGallery Operation & Marketing Support, , attracting great interest from participants.
As the last Huawei Developer Day in Singapore in 2020, more than 40% guests wanted to know more about HMS, and more than 35% expressed interest in monetization.
In Asia and the Pacific region, over 20 guild events were held in 2020 to promote long-tail developers, effectively enriching and improving the HMS ecosystem. In 2021, we will continue to focus on topics that developers are concerned about, fully leverage new capabilities and technical advantages of HMS Core, and deepen the HMS ecosystem construction to improve user experience.
Seems great. Expect it will be launched in more regions.

HMS Core Unleashes Innovative Solutions at HDC 2022

HMS Core made a show of its major tech advancements and industry-specific solutions during the HUAWEI DEVELOPER CONFERENCE 2022 (Together), an annual tech jamboree aimed at developers that kicked off at Songshan Lake in Dongguan, Guangdong.
As the world becomes more and more digitalized, Huawei hopes to work with developers to offer technology that benefits all. This is echoed by HMS Core through its unique and innovative services spanning different fields.
In the media field, HMS Core has injected AI into its services, of which Video Editor Kit is one example. This kit is built upon MindSpore (an algorithm framework developed by Huawei) and is loaded with AI-empowered, fun-to-use functions such as highlight, which can extract a segment from the input video, according to a specified duration. Not only that, the power consumption of this kit is cut by 10%.
Alongside developer-oriented services, HMS Core also showcased its user-oriented tools, such as Petal Clip. This HDR Vivid-supported video editing tool delivers a fresh user experience, offering a wealth of functions for easy editing of video.
HMS Core has also updated its services for the graphics field: 3D Modeling Kit debuted auto rigging this year. This function lets users generate a 3D model of a biped humanoid object simply by taking photos with a standard mobile phone camera, and then simultaneously performs rigging and skin weight generation, lowering the modeling threshold.
3D Modeling Kit is particularly useful in e-commerce scenarios. Bilibili merchandise (online market provided by the video streaming and sharing platform Bilibili) has planned to use auto rigging to display products (like action figures) through 3D models. In this way, a more immersive shopping experience can be created. A 3D model generated with the help of 3D Modeling Kit lets users manipulate a product to check it from all angles. Interaction with such a 3D product model not only improves user experience but also boosts the conversion rate.

Moving forward, HMS Core will remain committed to opening up and innovating software-hardware and device-cloud capabilities. So far, the capabilities have covered seven fields: App Services, Graphics, Media, AI, Smart Device, Security, and System. HMS Core currently boasts 72 kits and 25,030 APIs, and it has gathered 6 million registered developers from around the world and seen over 220,000 global apps integrate its services.
Huawei has initiated programs like the Shining Star Program and Huawei Cloud Developer Program. These services and programs are designed to help developers deliver smart, novel digital services to more users, and to create mutual benefits for both developers and the HMS ecosystem.
