Does th S-Pen fall off? Easy to lose? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

I just ordered the S7+ and am extremely worried about losing the S-Pen. It hasn't arrived yet, but am I being paranoid? Do I need to get a folio case to keep it from falling off? It will be sitting on my lap, the kitchen table, carried around in my hand, etc.
How well does the pen stay attached to the tablet?

The magnet serves only to guide the stylus into position. It lacks the strength to hold the stylus firm. Without a cover you'll easily knock it loose.

That stupid SPen
It sticks pretty well, but I scrape it off the tablet almost every time I pick it up or set it down, unless I'm really careful. Definitely getting a case.

You absolutely need a case that holds the pen or store pen elsewhere. Biggest flaw on this and the s6

good point. Give one away and make it so easy to lose.
I love this tablet, but I have to say it's obviously not designed to be used without a case. It's slippery, feel a little fragile, and the pen falls off. The s6 felt far more useable without a case.

Well that settles it. Looks like I'm buying the Keyboard Cover Case.

I use a case, where the pen is not secured add. from the case.

Need help selecting Tilt 2 case

Ok, so I'm a tweaker. I'm constantly messing with my phone: installing new apps, flashing ROMs, stuff like that. So, with all my tweaking, I freaquently have to perform manual soft-resets (eg pushing the red button).
Obviously, to do so, I have to remove the back cover. With the case I have now, though, it is a royal pain to do that!!
Is there a rubber case for the tilt 2?
Regards
Smith
I'm really considering drilling a hole through the battery cover and a matching one in my crystal case to perform resets without removing anything. I will do it carefully with a dremel, just an idea.
thats a pretty good idea, but then i would have to buy another back for my phone for warranty purposes :/
i really want a rubber case lol im gonna search harder!!
considering???

Hell, I went ahead and drilled away, just be careful with the Tilt 2 since the hole needs to be quite close to the edge of the back to be of any use. Sooooo much easier though....
have a look at this guide.
Hope it helps.

Those are really nice and I want one, but they're expensive
Just bought this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/HARD-RUBBER-CASE-COVER-F-HTC-Touch-Pro2-Pro-2-Black-/180500606568?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item2a06acae68
And it's really cheap at less than 5 bucks including shipping..
It says 'hard rubber case' though is it flexible? Like, you can bend it in half without it breaking or damaging or anything?
Besides, that's for Touch Pro 2, not Tilt 2
OtterBox makes tp2 protective cases.

Yeah I have a TP2 T7373 and no, I don't think it's flexible at all. Bad description. But I like my cases to be solid and stiff, not flexible so it's ok. Will drill this one to perform easy resets. A matter of taste definitely

I have one of these cases and it works very well. Sturdy and fits snug while also not being too hard. I would highly suggest getting it. The back also looks pretty sweet too.
I want one so bad, but don't have $20 dollar lol I'm broke

In the thread orb3000 listed, it is mentioned there is a hong kong seller on fleabay that has them for slightly over $12usd shipped. You just have to wait two+ weeks to get it.
For the OP and to confirm what some of the others have said about those cases... this silicon case is well worth it and makes it EASY as pie to remove (literally 2 seconds or less) when you need to do a soft reset or battery swap. Just as easy to put back on in a few seconds. Much better than the body glove hard case, etc I have tried in terms of ease of removal/installation.
*dupe post, my apologies*
well worth the money.. I have one and love it, only complaint is it does make the unit seem much thicker.... but for the protection it is worth it.
The Verison Touch 2 case listing by ittrimming on eBay for around $5 is thin hard plastic shell snap-on with rubber coating for feel/grip.
The Tilt 2 camera button has to be trimmed out of shell (easy task). The left and right edges of case need thin foam strips added to keep shell from contacting resistive screen edges (nasty responsiveness otherwise). Less easy task, BUT still worth effort for great handling cased phone.
I love my otterbox!
Otterbox is a bit expensive, but if overlook that, well worth the money.

Can be had for around 30 shipped on amazon. Only downside is how hard it is to press the power button to turn the screen on and off.

Yeah, just that not everyone wants to spend that for cases and I was one of them, with previous phones. But when I got this phone and found it to be sleek, I decided it deserves better.
And I did have problem with that before when I first got it. Now that I got used to it, I don't mind it too much. I think of it as child-lock. Also, I had problem with some of my previous touch phones where they were easily turned on accidentally while in my pocket. Then more touches and usually ended up calling people and that really annoyed me.

Spen traces in invisible shield

I noticed that when I use the spen on this protector I can see the traces on it. As a matter of fact I can still see today the traces from the first time I used the pen close to a month ago. Is anyone having the same problem with invisible shield? What screen protector are y'all using that is not having this problem and where you got it?
Thanks!
I was using a BodyGuardz (similar to the Zagg) and was seeing the same thing. That style just isn't made for a precise point pen like the note has.
I've switched over to an SGP Glass-t and could't be happier with the decision. There's a thread in the forum all about it - but it's basically a glass screen protector and after a short while using it - I wish I would have found them years ago.
i had one on mine (which has since been sold for a white one arriving tomorrow) and it does show traces, but only if you look at it from a serious angle with light reflecting off of it.
the zagg's are made to change shape, etc. which is one of the reasons why they are so durable.
i honestly didn't find any fault with the traces, as i had to truly look for them. a cursory glance wouldn't reveal their presence.
that said, i have ordered a glas.t to test it and see how i like it. i'm a huge fan of zagg and i cannot stand any other type of screen protector.
I hated the traces at first as well, but I only see them when the display is off and at an angle. It doesn't affect the function of the S-Pen or visibility at all. I wish it wasn't quite so "tacky" when drawing on it - I really hope it doesn't affect the durability of the pen's nub in the long run. But for me, protecting the display with something so durable and with a lifetime warranty (and free replacement and application through Best Buy) is worth it.

for reals. i love the feel *EXCEPT* when using the s-pen. i hope they release the HD and smudge-proof versions as they may help alleviate that (though i don't like either as much).
i've put on untold thousands of them in the past 3 years while working there :]

Here's what I'm using. Probably the best SP you can buy once you get over the price. There's no feel to it and it doesn't interfere with the S-Pen or touch.
Spigen SGP Ultra Crystal
Absolutely phenomenal.

I want to try the Glas SGP that modmyphone posted, but the "one shot deal" installation scared me. As well as I don't think my case will fit with.
If it protects my phone I won't care if it's $99, lol
I'm quite happy with the one I got from Ebay seller 'rdstore'. Clear as a bell and the pen doesn't leave any marks. Also, $1.49.
Any of the softwer type ones are going to do this. I just peeled off my ArmourSuit to send back for a new one (life time replacements) but dont know if i'll paply it since it'll just happen again. I love the wet type ones bc they are so easy to apply and zero bubbles. Plus I've grown to love the rubbery feel of them. I will continue to use them for the back of the phone as the rubber texture provides a grippy surface to prevent phone from sliding around, but will have to get one of the thinner nonremovable crappy ones as DrawSomething has left my screen saver looking horrid.

Recommended: SlingGrip (ThingSling), great for small hands!

Hi guys!
First off, no, I am not affiliated with, nor being paid by SlingGrip to write this. But I do want to share this great little product since I haven't seen anyone else mention it for this phone.
When I first got my Note 3, I wanted something to supplement the one-handed mode that would help me use the phone with one hand. I looked at a few different solutions, but the SlingGrip caught my eye because it was pretty inexpensive and made in the US. I ordered a purple one and waited while it and my case came in.
All the SlingGrip is, is a small elastic strap that you can hook your fingers in to give you a more secure hold on the phone. I got it, peeled it off the card it comes on, and stuck it right to the back of my case. It holds very securely with a 3M glue strip. It does add a fair bit to the thickness of the phone and keeps it from lying flat on a table, but this was a non-issue for me. The plastic and elastic strip feel pretty good, and it's such a simple combo that I don't forsee it breaking under normal use.
This was a godsend for using the phone with one hand. I ended up not even using the one-handed mode on the phone, with this I can reach the entire screen without feeling like I will drop the phone!
I just ordered a three-pack since I got a new case, and I highly recommend checking it out!

Nice. As someone with elfin hands, this looks quite useful. Looks like I'll be doing some cheapskate crafting later :3
Approximately how big is the mounting square for these things? I'm really intrigued by these add-on holders (sling grip, iring, flygrip, etc) but the UAG case I have has all kinds of funky grooves and designs on the back. :x
Yeah, I was turned off by the grooves on the UAG case for just that reason. I'm guessing that the slinggrip is longer than the center part where the logo is...

I feel like you'd be much better off just getting a lanyard. There are cases that allow lanyard attachments and they're a lot easier to use, just throw it on your wrist.

Lanyards don't help with holding the phone at all. All that does is catch the phone when you've already lost your grip.

imatch OnePlus 6T case

This case looks promising, but I don't know. It has no reviews anywhere, and was only featured for an old Samsung s6. If anyone on here has it or wants to try it let me know. It comes with glass screen protector, and it's apparently all screwed in. The pricetag is also sort of hefty so idk.

Id be worried about cell reception with all that aluminum. If you get it be sure to do a before and after signal test for us.
Learned my lesson with aluminum cases, it ALWAYS affects signal.

I'm actually sending mine back this week. It's just way too impractical. The screen protector it comes with is very cheap so I didn't bother. It's also one of those cases that covers the bottom speaker and routes it to fire forward. I don't like that. You have to unscrew everything just to put the phone in and out and the metal frame, the way it rests on the phone, it doesn't give me a lot of confidence. In fact, I'm afraid it could help put enough pressure on the display to crack it with the way it's designed. Maybe I'm being too paranoid but it's not worth the risk, IMO.
Also, the little pin/lever thing on the side that's meant to move your volume slider? It doesn't work. I have to use two fingers to move both ends at the same time but it doesn't move the slider. Only the plastic pins move. So forget about being able to adjust the volume slider above the power button.
The case in general is just too bulky. I'm a pretty big guy and this case still feels too bulky and awkward to hold. It reminds me of the early days of Otterbox cases when they wanted to promote this "tank" protection-level mentality but today as you can see they've slimmed down and become more practical.
They're keeping about $7 for returning it, regardless of Prime or what return method you choose. FYI.

Best case that can also take the M pen

Just wondering if there is anything better than the official smart case with the window for the M pen to be carried as well.
This is the only one I've found that takes the pen.

Don't make the mistake I have just done which is to get the official Smart Case thinking that it takes the pen. It doesn't. Bummer.

Ok I'm back on with this mission. The Momax case leaves the sides exposed to potential damage.
So does anyone know of any other case that can take the M Pen as well?
Exposed sides is a bit worrying to me.
I thought about whether some sort of protective film could be used on the sides but can't see any cases like that I could chop up a bit. I tried with a standard silicone one but despite it being very thin it was too big to allow the phone to be seated in the Momax case.
The search continues....
