[Q] Which rom do you use and why?

Hi, guys.I'm here with a question.Which rom(s) do you use?And why? What makes you keep using gb, ics or jb?What do they have special? For instance, I'm sick of lagging ics roms and i installed cm10 and i returned to ics.And what i realized is especially Sony's stock camera app and other portable apps makes me use stock-based ics.(You would know how ugly the camera app of cm stuff is if you tried cm9/10.)'Nuff said. What are your reasons?
I was MIUI ICS for long and changed to pacman 4.1 and CM10 (4.1) all these ROM are not daily drivers. So now just wondering which is best config and Android version gives optimal performance on aging Neo Hardware.
I have Xperia Neo V with locked boot-loader and stock kernel .587. After trying several ROM I have settled on 'Ice Cream Pureness', with a few of my own changes, like Cyber-shot camera 7.1.2, Walkman, stock calendar, etc. This is very smooth ROM, with no bloat ware, and lots of free Internal memory.
MIUI
MIUIv2
based on CyanogenMod 7
I am Using MIUIv2 MultilangV4.6.2 because:
Lot's of Free Ram -> Up to 230 MB
Lightning Fast
Nice Battery Performance
No Errors like FC & etc (Only FC in Sync Settings)
Bright User Interace Easy to use good-feeling
Lot of other reason
I suggest everyone ti try it once;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599516
In my opinion MIUI v2(GB) is houndered times better than MIUIV4(ICS)
I use Codename X by eman
Why?
-Stable
-Fast
-Options
-Free Ram
-Nice design (but keyboard sux)
-And CyanogenMod is comercial for me
For now i using MIUI Australia v 2.11.30
After try other rom,for me this one is the great rom for my device.
Coz not so many custom rom for Neo L :crying:
Hi,
I used Sony ICS on my Neo V and I was all the time thinking to downgrade to GB. Now I have installed CM10 and I am quite happy. It is true that it is not stable and there are some features missing, but I have quite a good performance. I miss mostly the camera features, but there are some apps on the market that are really helpful (Vignette or Pano/360 for panorama).
Mine lol
im using my first rom BRABUS NXT for Neo V based on GB
1) lots of free ram [265mb at first reboot]
2)smooth interface based on Xperia Z
3) great battery when overclockked on stock 1024 gHz
4)nice performance
5) most beautiful launcher/systemUI/framework
try it if you like it
ROM Cooked On My Own. (Basically Stock Based, ICS)
Reasons:
-Able to choose selective apps & mods
-Able to theme the way I want it
-Stock base because it is bugfree.
-ICS because there are more mods & apps available which are not compatible with Gingerbread.
-Finally, don't have to wait for the updates!
Cheers

For now I'm using Gin2JellyBean ROM (based GB 2.3.7) by vokal1992. All I want just stability, no lags, music, and camera. And I think I got thats all in this ROM :victory:
Using Legacy Xperia 10.1 (2013/09/08 release)
1/ Its stable, havn't had any FC or restarts.
2/ The ROM is nice and smooth / no lag issues.
3/ Its Jelly Bean - maybe its a personal preference but I tend to like JB better than ICS.
4/ Quite a good amout of free storage and no issues with RAM either.
1 con is that my battery tends to last me about 12h I feel that the battery drains rather fast even with the screen off. However so far the above pros does negate this one for me.
I have been using the ZellyCream 3.0.1 with Stock ICS Kernel
Pros:
1. Nice look and feel
2. Install Apps directly to SD card - built in feature
3. Kill apps via back button, 30 Step volume, Skip tracks via volume key and many such small but useful features for day to day use
4. Very much stable for daily use
5. Good battery life
Cons:
1. Initially used to give quite a lot of free RAM, but after a few days and installing the regular apps, the amount of free RAM went down
Xperia Ultimate HD 5.0 with Alliance kernel.Fast, stable with unified and pretty design. Before this one I used Gagan's Zelly Cream 3.0.1 as my daily ROM,that one was good too but UHD 5.0 is faster and prettier.Dont like Jelly Bean ROMs because they have crappy camera and are often buggy.
I use CM 10 ... I used to run on MIUIv4 ... but sice I ve tried JB everything has changed ... ICS is slow for me and GB is old. I think it s worth of HDMI and 720p recording.
I just moved from STROID to Xperia Z Jelly Bean purely for 'beauty' reasons. I installed the ROM last night and have been really impressed by its beautiful GUI. I don't plan to play a lot of games so I don't know whether it can perform well for heavy games.
It's always a question of Performance or Appearance
I use 4.2.2 Mike's rom with few Xperia apps to get stock feel it's pretty stable also latest rom we can enjoy latest features... Only thing i'm missing is camera quality

[Q] Boeffla Kernel VS AGNi Kernel vs ArchiKernel

*I have posted this in the Galaxy S III General Forum, i didn't know where to ask.
I'm getting a new ROM and it has options for which kernel i'd like to have, so i'm stuck to what kernel to choose.
Can anyone tell me whats the best one and why?
Just a heads up, people hate/lock these "better than" threads as it's offensive to developers time and efforts.
Look at the descriptions in detail, they all work on different kinds of versions/releases of roms, some are older versions of Android, some are stock S3 Android, some are for ported Samsung firmwares. And some, like Boeffla, provides many for all of them including CM, Samsung and older versions.
Personally I'd choose Boeffla as it generally always workes for whatever rom I use and has everything you can imagine, the best thing is perhaps the downloadable "Boeffla Config" app, which provides far more configuration features than any other kernel tweaker I've seen.. by far.
AGNi has some cool unique features, like additional filesystem support and a few niche features. Nothing to sway me personally.
ArchiKernel really only works with ported up-to-date Samsung roms with no frills or anything, just his usual optimisations which haven't really made an impact on general use tasks and gaming performance as far as I can tell.
Notable Boeffla settings:
GPU overclocking/underclocking. (I suggest not under clocking in the slightest as it brings the system to a crawling halt.)
Change charging rates.
Large collection of CPU governors.
Undervolting of CPU & GPU.
Tweaks presets.
Disabling of logging.
Large collection of sound tweaks.
Kernel
Personally I will recommend u to go for boeffla kernel as it has all essential features including sound tweaks
And if u are in Sensation Rom V6(android 4.4.2 and also for other 4.4.2 ROMS) then in boeffla app
Set ZRAM :-
Number of zram devices -4
Zram total disk size-600
And
set swappiness- 60
And you will get the best of Senation Rom with best multitasking and battery life!

Tweak Android Devices to Faster and Free More RAM with This Mod For GB,JB,ICE,KK

What Is This??
If you got a good phone, it should have good specs. However, sometimes we do not get the performance we expect from our devices and in most cases it is due to faulty configuration of how hardware resources are used or the way the user uses a device.
We all expect good performance and battery life from the smartphone or tablets device we use. And if you think you are not getting that with the default settings of your device, there are ways to make it perform better in terms of speed, faster response, reduced lag and better battery efficiency. Thanks to the brilliant developer community we have as Android users that there are always some or other solutions to fix such things.
If you experience lag on your phone and think it’s not performing decently, you should give a try to the YoPro-Script mod by ShivaY. The mod targets various issues that usually concern users. It fixes low RAM issue, improves battery performance, reduces lag, adjusts CPU and GPU frequencies to the optimum, and so on. Below is a detailed list of things the script works its magic on:
Prevent Leaked RAM/system memory
Makes performance smoother
Lag fix
Better battery life
Balanced mod (gaming & multitask)
Net optimizer (responsive surfing)
Seeder (increases Entropy to reduce lag)
GPU Rendering (HW 3D force enable)
I/O Database Optimizer (SIO/Deadline : auto set. if there sio, sio will enable..if no, deadline will enable)
Storage Speed/Write Optimizer
CPU Governor Optimizer (Smartass/Hotplug/On-demand: auto set, if there Smartass, martass will enable.. if no, hotplug or on-demand will enable)
Touch responsive
Zipalign at boot (reduce footprint & optimized RAM usage)
Sound noise fixer
More…
Download YoPro-Script
YoPro-Script_v2.6_GB_JB_ICS_KK.Zip
Requirements
YoPro-Script mod has been tested and found working on a range of Android devices including the Nexus 5, Xperia Play, Huawei Honor, Galaxy Note 3 (with CM11), Galaxy Star, etc. The mod works on all Android devices running Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat. Needless to say, you must have root access and a custom recovery (CWM/TWRP) to flash it. You also need to install the latest BusyBox. And yes, make sure you are not using any other custom scripts already. Another thing, we highly recommend you try it on a custom ROMs with init.d support.
How to Install
Download the mod file in zip from above and copy it to your phone.
Reboot your phone in recovery mode.
Make a nandroid backup first.
Then install the .Zip file and reboot device.
Thanks

pie rom for redmi note 4?

What is the best rom pie to redmi note 4 snapdragon at the moment for fluidity, speed, battery and customizations? and what is the best audio and camera configuration? Which magisk modules or recommended apps to add? Can I install some miui apps like notes, qr etc?
go for arrows os i am using it from a month no problem so far smooth and bugfree and weekly updates via updater and a great battery life it has decent customization not like hovac and crdriod but they are useful ..... for audio u can install viper and for camera go for arnova latest... u can install google keep for notes and any qr scanner from play store:good:
i'll say pixel experience is best in my opinion. its not customizable.pure stock anroid feel.
i dont know much about sound and camera config.
i use greenify, system accent theme for p, xml pack, google lens enabler magisk modules

Best custom rom??

I've been lingering around the forum and lineage seems to have broken more things recently. Please don't attack me i just read the last few pages.
And cr droid is having signal spoof.
Best recommended rom if any?
Lineage would also work i just want to confirm
Well, for the best possible performance with fewest bugs I suggest MIUI developer ROM.
If you want a non-MIUI ROM, I can suggest Syberia OS, or Pixel Experience. They are also good.
Ultimately, "best custom ROM" is completely subjective because everyone has different usage habits and therefore will have different requirements.
Learn to flash, get comfortable flashing, and try all the ROMs.

Been flashing for like 2 years. Not used to tons and tons of pages to read through but thanks for the response. Will try syberia.
My requirements are minimum bugs and good battery. I barely play games.
Will try.
Thanks
I've been using Pixel Experience as my daily driver for the month.
No complaints.

PE has the least number of features among all custom roms i tried and miui. eg:
1. No call recording possible in any way.
2. No option to turn on torch with power button when screen off.
3. No advanced restart options.
4. No network speed meter.
5. No ability to change fonts on the fly.
MIUI exclusive features (no custom ROM has these):
6. Native app lock.
7. Flawless native long/scrolling screenshot capability.
Lineage OS 16 exclusive feature:
8. Privacy guard (this feature alone is enough to justify selecting LOS over others)
Not all roms have all of the above features but PE is the only one which doesnt have ANY of them.
MIUI has the maximum number of above features.
hands down for Lineage 16 and Nitrogen OS

Yeah. Will try after syberia i guess. Thanks
Ouch - was pretty set on PE, but the lack of call recording, advanced restart and speed meter are big nonos.
My main concern with using the stock MIUI is privacy related - Xiaomi seems to collect far too much info.
PE is great if you want vanilla experience. If you like to tinker, tweak this and that, change the settings every two days then PE is not for you. Maybe NOS is the most stable right now.
