OK, i managed to install your S912/LPDDR3/LAN100/QCA9377/ltm8830 Rom succesfully on my M8S Pro L(Q)
Didnt work to install via Burn Card Maker but worked after flashing via Burn Tool!
Boots up correctly and so far seems to work fine, Wifi and remote control is working fine on my box.
If i find bugs im gonna tell you. Thanks for you work

The OTA Update Is Attempting To Install The Latest Official Mi Box Firmware, Ad Due To Our Devices Not Being A Genuine Mi Box the Update Fails (And if it did work it would brick the box due to different RAM ,SOC, DTB & Bootloader Once I Obtain The Latest Official Update.Zip I Will Manually Update The Firmware Images, If You Have A Copy Of The Lated Update.Zip Can You Please Upload? Or Tell Me How You Extracted The Update.zip?

I just tested it and Android starts fine when I choose 1024MB RAM. I also have Windows 8 Pro x64 (8GB RAM).
Maybe try restarting and try again.
cant wait to try this bluestacks sucks. is it rooted already or can it be?

I'm running Windows 8 Pro x64 w/ 8gb ram as well, and it crashes whenever I try to launch the emulator as well.

Did you give it time to start up? It will be a black screen until it boots.
Will give it a go later but you still get a thanks for this. I could have used something just like this when I was still deving on Moto devices.

yup.. about 20 times now. never works.. sdcard not exist down the buttom. on pressing start it changes to SDCard mount. Thinks for about 20 seconds then comes up with a dialog saying ERROR SD Card does not exist.
After that it will boot though still no SD Card. and i guess not having the sd card is causing the APK install to fail.
Would be nice to Play Store installed so we are not reliant on apks.
And superuser would make this golden!
/worked it out.
If running it from the Desktop of Win7 it does not have permission to create the SD Card. Moved it elsewhere now all ok. Funnily enough still cannot install apks..... (though can via adb)

1-Only 6 external app can be installed on Qin 2 normal version, 12 on PRO
2-It doestn't have a store for apps
3-limit app background
HOW TO INSTALL APKMethod 1:
Restart the phone in safe mode: press and hold the power button, in the menu that appears, press and hold Off, in the dialog box that appears, click OK.
The phone restarts in safe mode, all user applications are disabled, however you can download the apk from apkmirror (Architecture armeabi-v7a) using the integrated browser and install them.
Installed applications can be used after a reboot.
Method 2 via ADB command line:

HOW TO UNINSTALL SYSTEM APPS WITHOUT ROOTATTENTION! the remote control app will not work if you uninstall the weather app.

Not at the moment. We are waiting for a release of recovery and global rom with google services.

just bought qin2 chinese version, really like it, i dislike big screen phablet, sadly nowadays this "phablet" things is becoming the new normal.
but i got problems with my whatsapp, it keep shutted down when i put it at background, i think i have give all permission to whatsapp, data saver is already off, background data and unrestricted data usage is already on, developer options > don't keep activities is also already off.
do you guys having this problem on your whatsapp ?

Yes I have the same problem, I try to manage the battery settings and keep the whatsapp on non restrict mode.
Try to block the app in multitasking by swipe to right and you see a lock in the corner of the app.

woow, thanks a lot man :good:, it solved the problem. after i check, whatsapp is defaulted as marked in Battery > "Close app after screen lock" settings. after i turn it off, so far it is not closing anymore.
I just got this phone over 3 months after I originally order it.
I got a series of OTA's after I took it out of the box, which eventually got me to FW 1.2.6.
I imported my contacts from Google Contacts via vcard as mentioned in the first post. If this does not work for you, check your contacts for invalid entries. You may end up doing it in groups until you can isolate the individual contacts that have a problem.
I have been able to side load apps without difficulty. Direct DL from apkmirror, or transfering by USB, and then installing.
I installed Google Play and Google Play Services, but the play store won't open, so I remain Google - free for the moment.
The phone is stable and smooth -- especially concidering the limited processor power and RAM.
Looking forward to the International firmware being available.

If you have one of these devices that really struggle taking any custom ROM, sometimes these are MXQ devices (there are so many clones of these devices) and they may have a locked bootloader or it needs a DTB that isn't common or known, there are some ROMs that have saved some people before, these are only if no other custom ROMs will work for you and are a last resort

I'm not sure, I would say no but from what I saw s905 just lacks hardware vp9 decoding so if your feeling brave

i just haven't been able to get it working correctly yet, still learning a lot about the android ROM structure ect... only started this a few months ago as a mission to make my own s905x box usable and actually bearable to use i would ideally like to have it pre rooted with the switch in settings actually working, but so far have been unsuccessful, It is possible to flash magisk with TWRP on my ROM (TWRP IS PRE INSTALLED BOOT WITH TOOTHPICK METHOD)

Sorry ignore my ramblings about recovery, seems my reset button n my 1GB RAM box is flaky, flashed it at least 250 times past few weeks haha,
Sorted now just have to apply extra pressure, as it worked on my 2gb box
Boot into recovery and flash Magisk.zip
Test its installed correctly by running Root checker.apk

Yes just flash with TWRP recovery
never got as far as testing adding root with magisk but yhea seems to work, and my aim is to have it so stable that root is mostly unnesicerry and to make it as user friendly as possible ans will be using my firmware when i set up boxes for people in my area

Thanks for your fast reply. I can´t post links in the forum( i am a newbie) with detailed information. In the picture below you can see the board . Perhaps you can idenfify the wifi module. The stock firmware can be found in h96tvbox site.

hi, the problem with these boxes there is so many clones, lookalikes ect you really need to look and see, i think i have worked out the what chip it might be but would be awesome if you could look, the WiFi chip always is close to where the WiFi Arial attaches to the logic board

hi, every box has a diffrent remote, ive included as many as possible blindly, i would need a file from a working rom, i wouls suggest flashing a few roms until your remote works and i can try to addthe remote.conf file
Also if you have a USB keyboard you can use that to get through the set up, then go to settings and enabe HDMI CEC (This allows your tv remote to control the box if your TV supports it)
Oh and game controllers, ps3 USB and Xbox one bluetooth (Maybe others untested)

I'm trying to get v7 going on a TX3 Pro (may be real, may be a clone - Nanya DDR, RTL8189FTV WiFi), it's 1G/8G S905X. Aside from TX3pro-specific firmwares, nothing works on it - most do not get past the bootloader stage (red light). It's the same case for yours; however, using the AMLogic tools & overwriting a few files extracted from a working TX3pro-specific firmware (I believe I overwrote UBOOT.USB, boot.partition, bootloader.partition, DDR.USB, image.cfg, and removed _aml_dtb.PARTITION), I was able to boot yours to the boot logo - but no further.
The stock firmware in question is here.
The bottom of this thread contains a few more.
This one was also successfully tested.
Would it be possible to create an adapted firmware? A pointer to the backend steps involved in doing so would also be helpful, I'm quite motivated in experimenting with this device. I will solder up the serial header for further debug output shortly. Thank you!

Ok i have a couple of my older roms that were were my earlier attempts at a decent ROM, they have diffrent base roms and wifi might work, I could then try again or port my ui, apps ect to that rom and it would be a specific build for your wifi chip

I needed a way easily change the DNR (Denoiser) so I could improve video quality on apps like Disney+ and I needed a way to get Auto Framerate Switch to get that smooth playback, so I found this Mecool KM1 ROM (yes, with S905X3) and I was able to boot it on my S905X device.
The performance of this ROM is great for me, DNR and Picture options are available, there's an easy way to ROOT it and you can justinstall AFRD app to get Auto Framerate Switch.
Hardware Support
This is where it gets tricky, my box has a S905X CPU with a QCA9377 and works perfect here. For now I don't have any other boxes to test but I'll be working hard with my friend @aidanmacgregor to bring more support, I also need your feedback to figure things out.
How To Install
Use Amlogic USB Burn Tool with a Male to Male USB Cable to flash the ROM, connect to the TV and wait until it boots up.
How To Root
Download the Temporary TWRP and Super SU files linked bellow and copy them to an SD Card or USB Drive.
Enable ADB Debugging on developer settings. Find your box IP Adress, for this you can go to the About Settings page and about.
Use a tool like "Minimal ADB Fastboot", connect your device through ADB and use the command "adb reboot recovery" to go to the recovery.
From this recovery install the temporary TWRP zip, after that you'll be booting to TWRP, from there you need to select USB or SD card, from there you just select the SuperSU zip.
Restart the box and you'll be rooted.
What's next
You can expect updates to this ROM.
I have plans to bring ROOT and AFRD pre-installed if there's popular demand for it.
I'm also working on getting Android 10 to boot on S905X when I can get some more free time out of college.
Considering using Telegram so we can exchange some ideas together.
I also really need your feedback and opinion.

have to make a rom compatible with tv box HK1 TV S905X3
Thanks for the ROM. I have tried successfully on an x96 box with 1G/8G. Both the wifi and remote works well. The problem is when I tried to root the device - I can't seem to connect via adb (I have developer option and USB debugging enabled). My computer does not recognise that the device is connected (via male USB-A to male USB-A cable). It would be fantastic if you upload an image with root pre-installed.
Actually ignore the last request. I have managed to root my device after muddling through the adb over network. Thanks again for the fantastic ROM

hi, i believe this device ia actually manufactured by ZTE and just rebadged as fibrehome, i think this device wont work, seems to not like generic roms

Now my HG680P is running Marshmallow (rooted)
What can i do to upgrade from marshmallow to Pie or at least Nougat..
UBT process stopped at 7% (after "download meson1" then state "formatting", and fail/stopped right there)
As my friend have a HG680P unit which is running stock Android Pie (from manufacturer)..
And is already run rooted Pie now..
We do cross-check both device, and it's turn out both device is identical..

there are several versions of this device v1. v2. v3 v4 etc, with diffrent hardware inside i think

Tested on A95X B7N (905x 1/8 Realtek 8616 or 8618 - can't recall), some observations:
1. Performance is quite good
2.Wifi does not work
3. Original remote supplied with box does not work. However a generic remote from a old S805 MXQ box (512 ram) works perfectly
4. EAC3 Audio does not output anything through Plex, regardless of Sound settings (incl. Advanced) or Plex settings (common for my box at least, workaround possible).
5. HDR works.

I've the same box and had the same experience .Great tip on generic remote ,works a treat. Tried atvxperience beta v5 ROM all good but again no wifi

tried, and yes, this rom can boot coreelec (adb reboot update), and we can even dual boot coreelec on internal memory using "ceemmc -x" !
rom looks ok, but live channels crash immediately when trying to use PIP.

rom nice but no DD, DD+ and DTS sound via HDMI passthrough in manual and auto mode, there is only stereo sound, can you fix it?

I am sorry, I forgot about this ROM. I can't update it anymore, my S905X box's eMMC storage died last year and I bought a new Chromecast w/ Google TV, so, I have no way to test and develop any s905x ROM's anymore.

Update, Android TV booting, Tried with Mi Box Firmware but this has a freezing issue decoding wmv files, also tried mecool (km1) and MINIX Neo T5 ATV firmware, i will upload some testing versions soon

someone else reported only the usb c port worked, they used a OTG adaper to use minix USB remote

The USB flash drive does not work, it can be recognized, but it indicates that the USB flash drive is damaged. But I don't know if it's an isolated case.

I think its broken NTFS, the same fix i tried before didnt seem to work, i still want to convert the stock firmware to android tv, this should result in far fewer bugs but not managed to get it working properly yet

hi, it is an awesome device and stock firmware is solid and works very well with great video decoding capabilities, my rom is based on the stock firmware and mi box firmware port, means its always posible to return to stock, im learning as i go about all this

Yes I know OTG adaper is working I managed to maneuver firmware V7 s912 but still cannot turn on and off. Can you manage to do a little adjustment on your firmware.for The Minix Neo U9h s

There is a way to ROOT your firmware, it is only to install apps as if they were from the system, like YouTube and Google TV (or Google play movies in my region)

i suspect there are going to be some audio decode issues, im still learning and is somthing im working on, i dont haveany surround sound to test on either so feedback would be needed

First thank you for all your work , i successfully update an old Tanix T9( with your other rom).
I own a Odroid N2+ and i would like to test this version on it, but when i want to burn the .img with Etcher, it simply do not work and when i try the Amlogic Burning tool with OTG on the N2+, the device is not recognized.
It would be interesting for me because i currently use Voodik atv version (which works well) but without some codecs its difficult (e.g: Disney+ , 6play).
What can I do to make it testable?

Hmm look like this device uses etcher to flash, i havent seem this before, if you can find some way to unpack the rom you have, take system.PARTITION, product.PARTITION ANd logo.PARTITION From my rom then replace in yours, rickys toolay work, not sure if odrood have a diffrent firmware format
