Sweet! We needed a new one of these, this is super helpful. Thank you! I'll be trying it out tonight.

Thank you , it works perfectly

Excuse my ignorance. How do I remove the one from my Velvet 5G phone? It's not rooted and it's on Android 10 and it's from AT&T. How do I extract my own KD?

Could this method be used to create your own rom?
Does anyone have any additional guides for creating roms?

can i extract abl files using this??

[Q] convert .zip to .ftf

I have download firmware in .zip format. in my pc i have install WINRAR. this shown only zip. if i extract there i not find .ftf file. i try to rename but its shown zip. how i change get .ftf file. plz reply me
an .ftf file is just a zip-file with a different extension, just rename it, right-click on it and change .zip to .ftf
I believe you have not open the option to see the extention of your file. open it in your windows, then you can change it. or, just use mobile phone explorer to do it.
c3poyoda said:
you are not suppose to change the file. zip is zip, not ftf. It is like you changed cloth but you are not becoming to another person.
If you do need ftf format, download only ftf, not the zip.

Hi,
The flashtool didn't recognise the file after renaming it as described by you. Is there another way to get this done?

The built-in Windows Archiver used to zip folders doesn't use the proper format for files that need to be flashed. You should use Winrar or 7-zip if you have unpacked the zip-files.
If you've just downloaded the files without unpacking them, just rename them to .ftf without unpacking. Because your browser recognises the .ftf's as .zip-files it renames them on download-completion, simply renaming them back will solve your issues.

Sometimes you download a zip, you have to extract its files and then, create the ftf file with flashtool, using the option...tools/bundle creation. Try doing that.

KDZ Modification.

So there are quite a few applications out there that can extract, browse, modify and repackage a KDZ file.
Has anyone had luck or even attempted to try one of these programs?
I know with the program UpTestEX_mod2_marwin that we use with windows enabler gives us the option to decrypt the kdz.
The output becomes a wdb file, but from there I'm lost. Tried LGutils but kept getting errors.
Got a lot of info from here: http://code.google.com/p/arenoid/wiki/KDZExtractPack
Hopefully someone can use this information better than I can.

For LG L9 also (tested ok), Anyone can create FLS+BIN from KDZ with this Amazing Tool by SpyRosk...
[TOOL] All-In-One ToolKit v5.0 |KDZ FLASH|ROOT|Repartitioning|SmartFlash|DualBoot
Have tested this perfectly on all KDZ of L9. And if you could figure out the code in Batch File, you can easily create wdb file.
If you are talking about decrypting KDZ, that is possible on Linux machines only, I may be wrong about that.

I extracted KDZ file (on win7) into two files:
LGP765_V10E_00_AP.bin - firware itself
LGP765_V10E_00_CP.fls - baseband file (AFAIK)
So my question - if exists any possibility to modify .bin file? I can extract from there boot and recovery partitions, but i want to modify system

What tool did you use? I never heard of .hrf files in allwinner's images. You should get .fex files using ImageRepacker

How to extract Ozip (Oppo ROM Zip Files)

Credit to http://www.aitaoji.cn/
Download your offical Ozip file from the oppo website.
Drag and drop the Ozip file on to the ozip2zip.exe (attached)
Profit.
Hello Friend:
through your application is it possible to extract after passing a rom to zip? Can it then be flashed with Qfil or Qpst?
Or do I need something else?
Surely with Qfil it will not be possible because files will be missing for Qfil to recognize.
Thank you!!
it can be extracted though i would imagine it would needed to be modified before you could then flash it with another program.
Where's the attached file?

Why do I get ARBONA2 file instead of .dz when extracting kdz?

I am trying to extract an OEM LG V600TM kdz file using an LG Firmware Extract tool. I have tried four different ROMs, and each has a file like "V60010x00user-signed-ARBONA2" file where the .dz file should be. If I try to extract the ARBONA2 file as if it were a .dz file, the program immediately aborts and the entire window closes.
I have searched for hours for "ARBONA2 file" with no results, but I can't believe I'm the only one who has run into this. I've added the ".dz" suffix to the file name with the same results. Does anyone here know what this ARBONA file is, why it is in the .dz file location, and/or how to work with it to extract the rest of the ROM?
Thanks for your help.
