Refined Note 8 7.1.1. (Exynos) [UPDATED] Stock SamsungCamera7 ver. 1.2 now writing 60fps - Galaxy Note 4 Themes and Apps

Health to all ... I don't know English well, so google translation.
On a stock camera, MediaRecorder is used to record video. For various reasons (can be read on xda-developers in ananjaser1211's firmware thread), since Android 7 MediaRecorder cannot receive data from the HAL camera data buffer. Therefore, a transition was made from MediaRecorder to low-level MediaCodec and MediaMuxer.
Be sure to backup the system before...
Spoiler: SamsungCamera7 for Refined Note 8 7.1.1 ver.1.2
- video recording fullHD (1920x1080) 60fps;
- normal video recording with stable 30fps;
- SlowMotion - video recording at 120fps, playback at stable 30fps;
- HyperMotion - implemented video recording at 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, playback at a stable 30fps.
Spoiler: SamsungCamera7 for Refined Note 8 7.1.1 ver.1.1
- fixed SlowMotion video recording. Used by 1920x1080 instead of 1280x720 on the Note 8;
- fixed HyperMotion video recording;
- removed or reduced the limitation of video recording by time, depending on the mode
- reduced threshold for turning off the flash when the battery is low to 1%;
- improved jpeg quality from 96 to 100;
- Auto mode: fixed the brightness slider (exposure);
- Auto mode: the selected filter effect is fully operational in the videorecordg (swipe from right);
- PRO mode: fixed manual exposure change for PRO photo and PRO video recording;
- PRO mode: fixed work of manual change of white balance, incl. on a scale of color temperature, for PRO photo and PRO video recording;
- PRO mode: fixed manual ISO change (Samsung Note 4 ISO 100-800) for PRO photo and PRO video recording;
- PRO mode: fixed work of manual change of color tone (filters-effects and manual adjustment) for PRO photo and PRO video recording;
- PRO mode: fixed the work of manually changing the value of the exposure time to 1 second. The shutter speed of 2,4,8,10 seconds did not work;
- PRO mode: no Camera API 2 - no manual focus change in PRO mode.
Spoiler: SamsungCamera7 for Refined Note 8 7.1.1 ver.1.0
Only simple videorecording in Auto mode. Writes up to UHD (3840x2160)
Bugs:
-not yet able to achieve 60 frames per second;
-files with a resolution higher than 1920x1080 are shown in the gallery as broken and cannot be played by the stock player. They are played by players such as MX Player or on a computer.
While I am thinking how to solve these problems. Plus a few problems with photo modes...

First of all, that isn't anything new about video recording.
Second - why post this here instead under the orginal thread dedicated for the rom?

Voytec83,
First of all, what does the phrase "that isn't anything new about video recording" mean? Samsung stock camera in rom Refined Note 8 7.1.1 can record video? Samsung officially released only android 6.0.1 for Note 4.
Second - the principle of video recording has been changed. Changed apk. As far as possible and with enough time, I will correct errors in the camera so that it is fully functional. So posted in the topic "Galaxy Note 4 Themes and Apps"...

this is a huge step, thanks a lot to you and ananjaser1211 himself, this thread made my day, bravo

I got SM-N910L by chance less than a year ago, so I didn't install N7FE port. This is not my main device. I cannot allocate too much time for different ROMs. Judging by user reviews, Refined Note8 7.1.1 is more stable. Fingerprint dont work. In N7FE port what camera: SamsungCamera6 or SamsungCamera7 ? If SamsungCamera7, then you can take from the archive file SamsungCamera7.apk and copy to folder priv-app\SamsungCamera7. Then reboot. And clear cach, dalvick-cash.
I will try to release a new version before the New Year. Now fixed record slow motion and hyperlax, fixed work of slider brightness (exposure) in auto mode. Now I'm trying to finish the modes in pro mode: color tone, focus mode, shutter speed, exposure change, ISO, white balance. Half of them are already working.

I'm on 7.1.1 mate

Hi to all, me again. So I found some bugs on v1.1 release of this awesome mod!.
1.- There is 4 photo modes that doesn't work at all, I really don't know if those modes aren't supported by our Note4 or if aren't terminated yet. Those photo modes are: Rear Cam Selfie, Shot & More, Dual Camera, Sound & Shot & Animated Gif.
2.- I think Slow motion isn't working at all because framerate isn't chaning during the record and then, when you finish the recording video editor crashes...
3.- Almost every resolution in video recording mode are working. Exept FHD 60 Fps, it records at 30fps with a choppy framerate.
After all of those notes... Let me say thanks againg to the developer of this awesome mod!

[PORT][19/12/2015][V 2.14][Mi3/Mi4] ColorOS Camera

Hi Guys,
ColorOS camera is a really good camera app coming from oppo find7 device. It include a lot of features using plugins.
Actually a port for 1+1 device exists, you can install this port but you'll get really low resolution pictures.
So I took this port and modified it with the help of the original dev @BOOTMGR (a huge thanks!) to fit Xiaomi Mi3/Mi4 camera resolution (13.1MPx instead of 13MPx).
As Camera apps with custom roms gives bad quality this app improves photography experience a lot!
Working features :
-Video (480p, 720p, 720p slow motion, 1080p, 4K)
-Some plugins (Double exposure, Expert mode with manual controls -except manual focus, still working on it-, GIF camera)
-Front Camera
-Incredible fast burst mode up to 60 pictures (keep shutter button pressed)
-Changing resolution
-HDR now thanks to @linuxxxx
Not working features :
-Some plugins (50MPx shots, Panorama, Beautify, Slow shutter, RAW Capture, refocus mode)
-Tracking focus
-More than 2s exposure with Mi3 (Hardware limitation)
To do :
-fixing improper preview that is 16:9 with 13MPx instead of 4:3 (really hard) that shoud fix incorrect thumbnail size (thumbnail are deformated)
How to install? :
Install OppoCamera2.xx.apk as normal apk
Install plugins as normal apk (I'll provide only working plugins, and some that I'm unsure)
Inside camera app if plugins are not present clic on the circles (bottom left) and add them within "Camera Shop"
Changelog :
2.14
-Finally totally get rid of the camera autoclose setting
-Added a new version for Ivan's AOSP Marshmallow rom as max resolution was different than lollipop, previous version lead to 170x146 output picture size (Correct capture preview size/ratio)
2.13
-Removed auto close setting as it wasn't doing anything
-Set default auto close to 24H (as 3 minutes was not enough for a time lapse)
-Added Timed Shots steps ( 1000 2000 3000 4000 pictures and removed some small numbers, just kept one that can be useful for group pictures and added higher values for time lapse)
-Added Time Delay (to allow long exposure time lapse, example 9s for 8s exposure)
-Creating a new apk that set jpegquality to 85% for both normal and fast burst shot filename is OppoCamera_2.13_jpeg85.apk
2.12
-Fix crash that was occuring when you close and reopen the app.
-Removed denoise option as it wasn't doing anything
2.11
-Bug Fixes from Infinityplus
-Added Wavelet Noise reduction toggle (need some tests)
-removed redeye reduction toggle as it’s not working (always double flash even when disabled)
-removed chroma flash as it’s not working (took comparision with MIUI chroma flash)
-change ZSL (Zero Shutter Lag) toggle comportment to work without closing and opening the app again. Now it need just a dumb capture to disable or enable the option (can’t do more)
2.1
- Rebased to latest ColorOS app
- UI tweaked for smoother response
- Added latest changes from andriman's app
- Added a few fixes from bootmgr
- All plugins updated to latest versions.
- Filter plugin preview bug fixed
-Tweaked ProfessionalCamera pugin with option for ISO 3200 (previous was only 1600 max)
2.04
-Max burst mode capture set to 60 pictures (speed is around 6 capture per second)
-Default back camera resolution set to 2Mpx to avoid small output resolution on Mi3
2.03
-Chroma Flash toggle added (testing)
-Tap shutter toggle added (tap screen to focus and imediately capture a picture without touching shutter button)
-Set jpeg quality to 100% for normal capture mode (instead of 85% wich is system default value) and fastburst mode (instead of 75%, tested it doesn't makes fast burst slower), pictures are bigger but better quality
-Removed some useless icon (like ISO HJR)
2.02
-Switched to @infinityplus port from @andriman tweaked Oppo app : http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/themes-apps/coloros-camera-port-t3034148 More option, more toggle in quick setting, smaller apk
-Added some resolution for front camera
-Antibanding Feature
-Video quality setting
-More effect
-Record audio from external microphone
-And so on
2.01
-Fix impossible to change capture resolution
-Added iso 3200 option
-Not working video record option removed

GDrive folder
For latest Marshmallow rom users HDR might not work anymore with this app, you can flash this zip (and each time you update your rom) to get it back working with this app and Snap Camera (it will break AOSP camera and Marshmallow google camera, but still work on Lollipop google camera.
This zip also detete ZSL forced off for other shot than HDR, so you can use this setting again.
Here is the link : GDrive
All credit goes to @BOOTMGR for this thread and his very appreciated help.
@andriman for tweaked version and @infinityplus for porting it and helping me .
A special thanks to @marko94 for testing it on Mi3!

Btw I'm still a newbie with app edition.
Edit : can someone else test and report. I may have made a bad modification in one translation file.
Edit 2 : try to change your system language (exact English, from us, UK...?) . And tell me which one you're using. I may know where error comes from.

I just flashed the v7 of this camera and as for now it seems to be a much better camera apk than the snapdragon apk.
I like how many features it has, especially the EIS.
The only bug I've found is that if I enable the "Power button as a shutter" then I have FC all the time (have to wipe it's data then).
Zooming isn't good with this camera as objects become way-to pixelated when zoomed in. Tried to do this same thing with cyanogenmod's default camera and the object was much more clearer and less pix-elated. Plus the use power button as shutter button makes the app crash all the time.
Edit - While focus works nice in both front and back camera, it doesn't show the focus ring in front camera.

Well, there's no focus mechanism in the camera, so what kind of focus are you expecting? The face detection?
---------------
I just did some low light tests.
Tbh, there's no difference in the noise amount. Both pictures look ****ty + the pictures from this camera are all white, I mean like there's almost no color in the pictures. The stock camera wins in the color reproduction in those conditions easily.

Im taking about touch to focus. It doesn't have touch to focus when using front camera, whereas cyanogenmod's default camera has. don't know about miui default camera.
It takes bright pictures in low light, but It's just too white in normal condition!
Plus,stock camera has better details. Slightly better.
One more thing, there is no 120fps slowmotion for HD resolution. and I don't know if 60fps FHD works or not.
Worse than Snap Camera included in latest CM13 build (balika). The chroma noise reduction is worst...
v22 works on miui. will be glad if you can upload latest updates here
Well this is like dream come true. For video shooting, this is the best camera app for redmi note 3 atleast. It has features like video stablisation, h.265 encoding and the best of all, it is able to save the video to sd card. (I previously tried an apk of camera next from apkmirror and it was not able to dave on sd card) . And for still shotss also, it has denoise feature, which I missed back then in camera next. Thank you so much. Now there is no need to go back to miui any more. You made my day.

CAMERA FLASH\RANDOM REBOOTS FIX:
-INSTALL NITROGEN OS
-DOWNLOAD SNAP CAMERA HDR
-ENABLE IN SETTINGS FORCE HAL1
-REBOOT APP
-ENJOY YOUR FULLY FUNCTONIG CAMERA
FOR VIDEO:
-DOWNLOAD FOOTEJ CAMERA
-MAKE VIDEO
-- don't make videos with snapcamera because won't work.
Its important for you (until you answer to me: camera is working dude, even with api2.0 blablalba) that api2.0 are INSTABLE. They work for limited times, and 80% of times you get no flash, no manual ISO, reboots etc. Camera HAL1 will make your camera STABLE again, with flash synced in EVERY photos you makes. Only Videos won't work with HAL1 in Snap Camera HDR.
Also in snap camera you will find some interesting goodies for our crappy cameraphone. Its important that you will enable:
-ZERO STUTTER LAG (your device will capture the image at over9000 speedo)
-LENS SHADING (it gives better image quality in borders)
-MEMORY COLOR ENCHANE (better colors)
-DENOISE (remove the exagerate noise of our thin sensor)
-Sharpness -2 (remove the exagerate noise of our thin sensor)
So yes.. try it, for me its working for 2 weeks now.

Recently I have discovered you CAN record 1080p video at 60fps with stock MIUI8 just needs a few simple mods and specific camera apps.
This mod is only for and tested on the Redmi Note 3 Pro Snapdragon variant (kenzo).
For this mod to work you will need a few things to get started.
--- Select a Camera App ---
1. MotoCamera (MotoCamera_V6.0.62.1_ModV4.apk)
2. In MotoCamera set the mode to 1080 60 FPS in the settings pane (swipe from the edge to access options).
-OR-
1. FreeDCam -
2. you must edit the 1080p video profile in it's settings under 'video profile editor', set/change video frame rate to 60 fps and 'record mode' -> Normal then save, back in settings make sure Camera2 API is selected.
(3.3.147 is the current stable, but has a bug switching from 'pic' to 'video' and back where camera will appear to freeze, that bug is fixed in version 4 alpha but it has another have an issue saving some settings, I suggest starting with 3.3.147 to test it out.)
----
--System Changes---
3. you need to put the modified 'media_profiles_8956.xml' (found attached to this post) to enable 60fps on the device, use a file-manager like MiXplorer or similar to replace the file it can be found in /etc/ (make backups first), you can also just rename the old file to something like '/etc/media_profiles_8956.xml-'.
OR
I have also created a Magisk script for systemless modification., if you don't want to change / modify system files and happen to have Magisk installed just install the zip file in Magisk Manger - easy.
if you are going the non Magisk route then I suggest you backup your original media_profiles_8956.xml or just rename it to something else just incase you dislike the mod and want to return to stock.
4. reboot, and try it out, [email protected], you do need to be in nicely lit area otherwise fps will drop in low light -
.
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 59fps 16931kbps [V: VideoHandle [eng] (h264 baseline L4.2, yuv420p, 1920x1080, 16931 kb/s)]
-
Pros:
60 FPS 1080p
very smooth such a noticeable difference
media_profiles_8956.xml mod ups the stock bitrate for audio to 320k , and raises video bitrate for better looking videos.
Cons:
Breaks stock camera video recording (camera app crashes)
still has the FPS lag in low light
60 FPS only works in specific camera apps, if you find others please let me know!
I have tested this on MIUI 8 Global beta 7.6.15, I am not sure the results of other OSes or MIUI versions, so as with any mod try it at own risk and make sure you have a working twrp or recovery.
good luck.
BTW there is also a 960P mod for 90fps, but it cannot coexist with the 1080p 60FPS mod .

yeah, if you restore the xml stock camera should work like normal again, just remember to reboot after changing the xml files.
Any 1080p 60fps samples?

This thread is about recording in 60FPS! You miui.eu ROM can record only in 30FPS.
Maybe Open Camera will support

I tried
Open Camera,
Snap Camera HDR (all CameraAPI levels),
Lumio Camera (btw this is another awasome camera, if you want a steady 30fps video with no FPS drops even in low light, just no 60 FPS though ),
Camera MX
but they all record at 30 fps
So far the only ones known to work at 60 FPS are
Moto Camera
FreeDCam
cyngn.cameranext (not tested)
CameraNX (only for android 7.x)
Have you figured out any way to make the camera record stable 30FPS even in low light without any third party camera app? Thanks man, I'll be using Lumio Cam for now. Haha.
Edit: It actually works! Seriously, how can this camera do this kind of stuff?! It actually performs better, but kinda hated the UI lol, at least the video camera can be usable now.
Will it work on Los based ROMs?

for the 60 fps mod?, I have no idea I only tested it on MIUI 8, you can see if the /etc/media_profiles_8956.xml file exists on the LOS rom and try porting the modified settings over and try motocamera out.

Afaik there is no way to make stock camera app record steady 30 fps, I edited kenzo.xml inside of miuisystem.apk and I can enable a few extra options for the stock camera like video image stabilization, 4k video ..etc but still suffers the fps lag in dark, I also dislike the zero shutter lag feature of the stock camera since images come out looking like watercolor (when zoomed in), where if you compare a image that was taken with another camera like SnapCam or Lumio the water color effect will be gone and have more detail for far away objects (but at the cost of shutter delay) ,
btw I can make a magisk script for a miuisystem.apk with the stock camera mods enabled, but you might have to be on the same version of miui 8 (7.6.15) since I am not sure how often that file changes and if it can work across different miui8 versions

What I mean is, are there any solutions like binary patches or any system stuff that doesn't fiddle with the camera app? Or have you found any other camera app that can do stable 30fps in low light?
Sadly, I'm already using NOS so I can't test stuff, but that's a good idea. I don't think MIUI doesn't change it's files that much. Good work man! :highfive:
Just tested, it works like a charm [emoji106]

Just Lumio that I found so far (that can do 30 fps without mods in low light), besides it costing money its pretty nice .
I have heard if you first set a manual shutter speed to a fixed 1/30 in snap camera hdr it might also work in that app, although I have not tried it, I might mess around with it later after it finishes charging

Oh and, as a side note, do not try to apply this mod to any of the custom roms here, it will bootloop the device.

that lumio cam can even record 4k at stable 26fps in low light conditions ( with fraps while playback )

Yeah shame this feature is limited to one app tho, luckily Lumio is a nice all around app with lots of settings, it's a pretty new app so maybe more features will become available with future updates, I think lumio manually controls the shutter speed so it never drops under 30 perhaps that's how they defeat the fps drop, I tried contacting the developers but never heard back sadly.
but still since now we know what this camera can do, it sucks that it's being held back from its full potential by xiaomi, it should work like this out of the box, variable framerate was a bad idea.

Hi, this might sound very naive but I'd like to learn how to port google camera to another phone. I know some basic programming skills. Could you direct me to some resources I could read to better understand the process. Thanks.
THX for this port !
A note, the 60 fps video mode does not work, and records in 30 fps. And the slow motion crash mode.
Also I don't see a big difference between HDR + and advanced HDR +, are there any?

You need to change lens to 64 mp for 60 fps video and slow motion to work
Hdr+ enhance usually works better with high contrast, medium and low light scenes. In a good daylight, hdr+ on (Zero shutter lag) works well

Thanks! However I'm having issues with taking any photo with the Front-Facing camera. It crashes every time I take a selfie.

Unfortunately no, choosing the 64PM sensor and 60fps does not make 60fps video but still 30. The slow motion mode no longer crashes with the 64MP sensor, but the video rendering is really weird, as if there were 1 images per second.
Hdr+ enhance (compare too Hdr+) works great with low light scenes effectively, thx
