Help with replacement screen + mint condition screen for sale if not fixable

I need some advice, I've tried replacing my screen and now it doesn't even light up, let alone display anything...
At the start of the summer I was messing around with a boomerang and believe it or not it smashed at great speed into my v1605 Hermes. Even though I had it in its case, the screen had some cracks and some parts not showing anything. I carried on using it like that for a while and started looking for a replacement screen. I found and bought one on Ebay.
Screen replacement, 1st attempt
The first screen that I received showed only a white screen when booted up. I tried fitting it many times with the same result and when I put my cracked screen back in it still worked, so I presumed it was a faulty screen and sent it back.
Second screen
After some dialogue with the company I bought the screen from, I was sure that the second screen would work, but when I fitted it I got nothing, it didn't even light up... just to check, I put in my old screen and got the same... it doesn't light up or display anything even though my Hermes boots as normal.
Help!
Is there anyone who can suggest what might be wrong and what I can do to fix it? Please?
Screen for sale
It may be that I've completely messed my Hermes up, in which case I now have a mint condition replacement screen, pm me any offers, although I won't be selling until I'm sure I can't fix this problem.
Hi , sorry i cannot help you in this thing but how much is your screen for sale?
The screen cost me fifty euros. I'd sell it on for the same price if I can't fix it... plus postage at cost.
Can't anyone help with this please???

[Q] What did they give me for a new screen?

My wife broke her screen on Friday and we went to a local shop to get the screen fixed yesterday.
This morning she mentioned that she thought the color on the new screen was different. She also pointed out that the buttons at the bottom didn't light up the same.
They practically don't light up at all.
The screen seems a bit dimmer as well. Not as bright and clear.
Is there any way that I can find out what kind of screen they put in her phone short of threatening to bulldoze the shop unless they put the right screen in?
I'm more than capable of dissasembling the phone without killing it and now wish I had but wifey wanted a working phone *today*
Can anyone help out? Are there any part numbers I can use to see what she's got now?
can you take a picture of the phone from upwards, and from sideways (to see if the screen is thicker than it should be)
sounds like it's a regular LCD screen

You can tell if its LCD by how deep the blacks are.

definitely got shafted. you got an LCD screen. i'm pretty sure the local shop orders their parts from eBay or some chinese supplier. those screens are usually LCD even tho some may claim its amoled. the only way to get a genuine Super AMOLED screen is to contact samsung to replace it. i remember reading somewhere than samsung is not distributing their Super AMOLED screens to 3rd parties

I used to be a cellphone technician for a short time and I can tell you that we fixed screens on a lot of touch screen phones... but all the parts are dirt cheap chinese knockoffs!!! There is NO local shop that uses original OEM parts!!! unless u send it back to tmobile or etc!
to answer short and accurate u didnt get the same screen ur vibrant came with!
^$%#
Now I really feel like a total idiot

Top 1/3 of my screen's touch not working.

I had an atrix given to me today from a friend who got a new one.
The screen looks crystal clear and works fine. The phone has no visible signs of abuse. Everything looks good.
The top 1/3 of the screen just will not respond to touch. I tried a factory reset to see if it was an app conflict and it's still the same.
I downloaded a kid's drawing app to get an idea of what part of the screen was out and EVERYTHING is working except for about the top inch.
Any ideas? Is this hardware or some software flaw in the phone. The person still has insurance until the end of this month and I can pay the 100 to get a replacement.
Sounds like a problem with the digitizer so you might need to replace it. The digitizer is a very common issue with the Atrix and MANY people here have had their phone replaced two or three times simply because some parts of their screen stop responding to touches.
Thanks. Was hoping it was a software issue. But as I said, it was a free phone. Maybe I can sell it as parts on ebay. I don't really want it bad enough to pay the 100 replacement fee.
If I were you, I'd avoid the Atrix because there is no guarantee that it won't happen again even if you replace the digitizer or get a replacement. This phone could be Motorola's worst phone, quality-wise.
you can purchase one on ebay.

I am really afraid of this problem. I hope it doesn't die on me before my contract is finished. Atrix will be my last Motorola phone.

Replacement LCD Quality vs. Your Original Screen

For those of you who've replaced your screens either DIY or via LG warranty replacement...please post how your screen quality and viewing angles compare to the original LCD.
I'll start...
1. On my Current G2, I had a perfect screen. Perfect viewing angles and excellent image quality with no defects
2. Ebay Replacement screen #1 had dead pixels and Mira lines.
3. Ebay replacement screen # 2 had horrible color. Almost black and white
4. Amazon replacement screen has great color & image quality but lesser degree of viewing angles.
It's hard to explain but easy to compare to other G2s and phones when you compare side by side.
After all these screen swaps in the last couple months I've decided to keep this screen and use the phone as is.
How does your replacement screen compare to the original one?
I got LG performed a "total refurbished" when I dropped and shattered my screen.
It came back and looked like new, no difference to the original.
After a shattered screen i got it replaced.two months waoting time.now have jdi panel but brightness is very low and have lots of screen bleed around the edges.the repairman did not do a good job but the panel itself is of lower quality.color and contrast ok but luminosity is about 70%of the original...not happy but no money for yet another panel...
Conclusion:dont drop the phone...
After having touch screen issues on my phone (no-touch zone, ghost touches), I bought a replacement screen for my D800 off eBay.
Got it replaced and so far, the quality (colours, brightness, touch accuracy) is very good. I'd say the screen is slightly more yellow than my original screen but it's by no means an issue.
The screen I got for my "new" Z3, is full of problems. It has press marks(areas on the screen which appear brighter/whiter) and the screen "flickers" on high brightness. My friend can't see it well, but I can very clearly see the screen going bright->dark->bright->dark slightly and very quickly.
Dropped mine and got it replaced at a cheap place in Bangkok.
Colours are the same, viewing angles are not as good, but
those doesn't matter to me.
Been 2 months dropped phone again, screen shattert again...
Biggest supprise: Touch is still working perfectly! Seems like the cheap replacement screen doesn't have the NoGap technology like the original ones haha. Seems like win win to me!

Thanks for the responses guys and sorry to hear about your screens.
Made a new poll. Please participate.
I'm trying to make a case that there are different versions of LCD panels made by different manufacturers.
They don't advertise which is which but we're starting to notice now that we're having out screens replaced.
I replaced my LG D800 screen with one from Amazon and the colors are slightly darker but other than that no big deal. I didn't do a good job with the replacement so there is definite light bleed on the edges and after four months of using it im getting ghost touches if I press on the lower portion of the screen. Don't think it's quite worth the $80 replacement to try again and get it right, just something I'll deal with until a new phone comes out and I can get it replaced all together.
Similar experience to laboratik except the repair was done at LG so the workmanship is good. But it is jdi panel and darker than the original.
Thank you guys for the responses. This thread should be helpful to others in our same situation.
The sad fact is that the market is flooded with aftermarket screens made by who knows.
Just compared my screen with the S6 Edge and have to say I'm very impressed with the image and color on this replacement screen however that's where the buck stops.
The reduced viewing angles are tolerable at best. I'd hate to remove this replacement screen send it back all over again...roll, dice pray I get a perfect match but unless I'm removing it from a G2 myself I'm starting to believe it's not likely it'll happen.
Check out this review on Amazon re: the screen I have.
This guy nails my current situation

I got a few of them from eBay, I can link you the buyer if you want, I've sold them and they are close to OEM, they only have one MAJOR flaw, they are thicker. While you'd think this wouldn't be an issue, they are thick enough to not be able to slip into most cases, so it's annoying.

That's the ebay seller I use for replacement parts.
So far the screens have been OEM quality( G2, GPro, AHD) I've bought a few from there, and they all have great quality, except for the thickness, they all seem to be thicker, this is probably due to it not being real gorilla glass, and just a knock off lol.
it looks like my replacement screen for LG service center has slightly lower sunlight legibility than original,
I dont know which panel is this, but brightness is reduced

After removing the Amazon screen and reinstalling the original one, I notice the Amazon one has slightly higher ppi/contrast with a smoother looking picture....WTH
Now if I can have that with the original screen's viewing angles I'd be golden....
Oh well....time to pack it back and return it back...will report back shortly

Hye guys. Im sorry if im in the wrong thread. Right now im in need for lg g2 d802 lcd full assembly replacement but im in tight budget right now. I can afford max for 60 bucks. That one almost certainly looks like it will be a low quality replacement you will be unhappy with.
My personal opinion, if you want a full frame screen replacement....at least get one with the LG logo.
Saw one on ebay for 59.00 last night. The seller claimed to test them before they ship.

Not sure which model you have but make sure you confirm with the seller before you bid
i have ordered my replacement screen with frame from etradesupply.com should be reaching me in 5 days time.. Will report back. Got it for $60.

Pocophone Bleeding Screen

Hi I have recently purchased the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 I got it basically for the price and the brilliant specs.
I knew about screen bleeding reports with these phones so when I got my phone yesterday I intentionally went looking for it and unfortunately found it just at the bottom edge of the phone I can see it when I long press my phone to turn off when the screen is a grey black colour I knew to do this as someone on the XDA forums suggested it.
Should I really be all that worried about this will it get worse one guy on you tube says it is always likely with LCD displays and lots of people are reporting it so it is quite wide spread with this phone so if I get a replacement chances are the replacement will have it also unless they physically inspect it before they send it to me I mentioned it to my sister and pointed it out and she said she really couldn't see much just a little bit lighter at the bottom.
So am I worrying about nothing or should I get a replacement/refund.
Lastly not really related but I would like to know guys opinions on LCD Vs amoled not quality but just purely for your eyes I have had amoled HTC ONE M8 for two years but just been using this Pocophone for a couple of days and it seems to hurt my eyes a bit I do wear glasses.
I took a chance with this phone and ordered from Hong Kong from EGlobal and trying to get hold of them is a nightmare I have told them about the bleeding screen issue but they still haven't got in touch what am I supposed to do if they keep ignoring me cause I don't think they have a phone number you just raised your query through a ticket then wait on them to get back to you in there own good time I think this is a nice phone but between the bleeding screen issue and it hurting my eyes I think I just prefer a refund it may just be the change from my HTC to this phone maybe my eyes need to adjust but this phone really hurts my eyes especially the right one any advice appreciated thanks.
