[Guide] Install ANY CUSTOM FONT! - Works in One UI 4.1 and older versions. - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Guides, News, & Discussion

In this updated guide I'm gonna show you how to install any custom fonts you like in your Samsung Galaxy device WITHOUT ROOT. It works in all One UI (Android) versions; even in One UI 4.1!
ALL CREDITS TO @sathishtony 's #mono_ app and @__TrungDK__ 's method!

Video tutorial:
Steps to follow (updated in 2021):
1. Make sure you are signed in into your Samsung Account.
2. Download and install #mono_ v2.1.
3. Launch #mono_ and allow the permissions it asks.
4. Install Samsung Sans through the #mono_ app.
5. Change your device's font to Samsung Sans.
6. At your phone's Settings, go to "Accounts and backup" and then to "Back up data" under Samsung Cloud.
──
6.5. If you can't find the Back up/Restore options due to carriers hiding them:
I. Download Activity Launcher from the Play Store.
II. In the search field you type "Cloud".
III. In the Samsung Cloud submenu you will find the Back up/Restore options.
──
7. Select only "Settings" and back them up.
8. Move your custom fonts to the "ttf" subfolder inside the "monofonts" folder (Internal Storage►monofonts►ttf).
8.5. If your font is not a ".ttf" font, then you may convert it using any online tool.
9. Go back to #mono_ and tap on "Load TTF". Select the font you want to change to.
10. Under the "Load TTF" button, tap on "Install". Uninstall Samsung Sans.
11. Tap again on the same "Install" button. Install the "fake" Samsung Sans.
12. At your phone's Settings, go to "Accounts and backup" and then to "Restore data" under Samsung Cloud.
13. Select only "Settings" and restore it. Don't delete the backup.
14. Android will be tricked into thinking that it's applying again Samsung Sans but it will actually apply your custom font!
15. You may repeat this process from step 8 or 9, for every other font, now.

Unfortunately not. Apps use the system's font by default.

[MOD][XPOSED][4.0+] PerAppFonts v0.3.2 (BETA) - Apply custom fonts on a Per-App Basis

Per App DPI, Per App Settings, Per App Color.. Time for something NEW!
PerAppFonts
(Apply custom fonts on a Per-App Basis)
This module allows you to use your own custom fonts not only without flashing a zip, but also have individual fonts for each individual app. However, due to Android's system permission, there is a catch. Changing fonts for apps will work WITHOUT a reboot, BUT a reboot is needed to LOAD the fonts.. (See important point below)
There are 8 options you can choose from even though you have no fonts. They are bundled in the app.
System Default (aka. Turn off changing fonts), default system Monospace, default system Serif, default system Sans, Roboto Condensed (from kitkat), Storopia (Gingerbread's lockscreen clock font), Rosemary (from Galaxy S3 flipfonts), and Roboto Slab (from Google Keep). More fonts can be added by placing it on your internal/external SDcard and choosing the folder in the preferences
Requirements:
1) Have Xposed Framework installed.
First Install Instructions:
1) Have Xposed Framework installed
2) Install & Enable PerAppFonts in Xposed Installer
3) Download Fonts on your internal/external SD card(if you haven't already)
4) Go to Preferences from the main screen of PerAppFonts
5) Choose the Font Folder
6) Reboot.
7) Start customizing!!
IMPORTANT:
• If you change an App Font, NO reboot is needed, just kill the app and launch,
• If you change your Font Folder, a reboot is required.,
• If you add fonts to your font folder, a reboot is required.
• If you eject your SD-card, the loaded fonts will continue to be usable and changeable until reboot.
• It's recommended you do not store more than 500 fonts on your font folder if you have a single core phone.
(Don't make the same mistake I did. Lag hurts) (**** you READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission)

Great Thanks to:

• Tungstwenty & rovo89 for their open source App Settings.

Changelog:
Version 0.3.2 (04 January 2013 / 1710 / GMT+8)

For Developers
PerAppFonts is open-source. The source is found on my GitHub.
If you would like to help in the development, you may leave bug reports and development tips in this thread or (better still) fork and send pull requests.
PerAppFonts might be compatible with Gingerbread in the future. All that is needed is to change the ActionBar related stuff to Menu and TitleBar. (If anyone wants to do this, Great! Less work for me.)
If you want to integrate anything in my module into your own ROM, no need to ask for permission, just mention me so I can keep track.

Oh.. Sorry.. A Minor Bug if the folder is non-existing.. Updated the app to v0.1.1 . Also, since the folder is not existing, I guess you forgot to select your font folder.
Another amazing work bud. Even if you say you're not amazing, you're indeed:laugh:
Thank you so much for your Xposed Mods, @zst123!
They are all so awesome! This one also works great on my Galaxy S3!
Great work
In my case , I created a folder for custom fonts . but the fonts were not applied any where.
Rest every thing is fine. Thanks for this unique app.
Request to add some more fonts as all the included fonts are almosts lookwise similar.

Did you click on the "X" button beside the launch button to kill the app? Also, some fonts are not compatible with Android but the system will not show an error, but just show the original font (Roboto).

May I have a logcat? Does it happen when there's a single font in the folder? or happens after a few fonts were added. What I can think of now is either the fonts are too large to handle (Very complex fonts) or you placed too many fonts (probably a few thousand to even force close like that).

[ROM][RK3066][SD] Custom KitKat 4.4.2 by 4pad.ru (RK3066)

Below is a link to some custom firmware form 4pda.ru
https://yadi.sk/d/AzvtZZSkcn8RC
And a translation of the description of the changes :
Just want to warn that this is only a BETA VERSION, so to me very much not happy.
For those who are not satisfied with a set of programs or unhappy that you have something not working, You're not forced to use this firmware and you can install an alternative firmware. And whatever you do, you do so at your own risk.
The basis from firmware Android parts for KLD version of Android part 4.4.2
What added,changed remotely:
1. In the firmware embedded ROOT,is Manager for ROOTа SuperUser (SU) (excellent updated from Play Marketa), busybox.
2. After installing the firmware, the default is English, time zone GMT +4 (Moscow),you can put a third-party application.
3. Section for program installations with 1 GB increased to 2 GB
4. Removed icons when the reverse speed, because personally to me they only interfered with.
5. Added in the Settings Menu Startup folder.
6. Fixed the inaccessibility of some programs in Play Markete (Yandex Navigator,Radar Arrow and others)
7. Added Google services ,CHROME updated to the latest stable version
8. Added file Manager ES File Explorer
9. Added file Manager Root Explorer
10. Added Titanium Backup Pro full
11. Added ® Xposed. You will need to log in and activate Xposed framework (be sure to restart your device)
12. Added XposedMTC. You will need to first run the program Xposed Installer framework itself(see paragraph 11) and activate it XposedMTC the Modules section (be sure to restart your device)
13. Removed standard Musik.apk (system MTCMusic)
14. Removed Chinese and Japanese keyboard.
15.Added in Settings-Screen-traffic Management. Where you can enable, disable, change the display color of traffic in the door notifications.
16.Added in Settings-System-screen Density. Where you will be able to install the appropriate density of the screen. My advice, install 200-220 dpi
17.Added in Settings-Screen-enable the application bar in the dummy notifications.
18 Changed the style of the watch and blinds notifications.
19. Other fixes and additions.
On the photos there is a button to shut down and Restart, I did not add...it made.
And a link to the pre-rooted 1024x600 that Estimilo wanted, done on 4pda.ru (he went on there and got someone to do it !):

Thank you for this release. I have it installed on a T230nu and so far my initial impressions are pretty good, it's weird about the resolution...I kind of don't like it but in a way I do.. The font is soooooo tiny, I mean very, Very!!! Tiny, this can kind of be changed with the app settings xposed module, but honestly I think the factory resolution fits better, I use gboard swipe typing and it is kind of hard to do at this resolution. On the t230nu their is also a no service notification that is constantly there. On the recents menu the task manager and close all, is kind of cluttered and you cannot see what they really say. The ROM runs great though and I love how bare bones it is, I'll definitely keep track of this thread, and once again thank you for the work on this.

Thanks for the update. For anyone wondering this ROM really runs great and it's a nice balance between performance/battery. A thing to note though, some apps that will install on normal smt230 ROMs will not install, for example, Instagram. A easy way around that is too install yalp store , so no big deal.

Thanks for the feedback.. do u have any screenshot of the installing apps problem.. i think i can fix it
It's not a error, when you go to play store to install it, it says device is not compatible,on other roms it installs fine. If that problem was fixed and if you could turn off the no service thing, and disable more of the cell phone stuff I'd say this would be top pick of roms for this device.
Did you clean install or dirty flash the new rom? I had it happen to me a while back (maybe 10-12 versions ago of this rom) play store would not allow me to install basic apps that I had just installed before the flash. I would follow the directions, wipe & reinstall the rom. By the way Enzo2001, the version numbers are all screwed up again, making it very hard for a person to 1)download an update, because they are the same name, 2)during install of rom in TWRP, it shows a different name compared to the filename, 3)settings/about has different name than install name. It going to get confusing for all, including you

It was a clean flash, I never dirty flash a rom.

Enzo2001, you didn't read my post. The title of your thread is "pixelized Rom v1.0. the 1st download link, the room is called pixel_light v1.0. then someone complains of the text being to small, you give a link to a new version called pixel_ light v1.0 which is the same as the 1st version. Then in twrp it says you are installing a different name Rom, and finally the settings/about. Please clean it up so people don't install the wrong one. For example, I used a file mgr, I looked at download time and date to know which to use, but in twrp/install, it doesn't show the date & time

Actually it will be very 1.3. You already have 2 downloads. 1) the original in the beginning of this thread. 2)the update to enlarge the screen font. Thanks, I'm only trying to help, I am not trying to be picky.

Glad to hear that !
Haven't tried new build yet but was wondering is the standby cell process really draining that much battery?

Product Sans?

Hello,
Anyone knows if it's possible to get Google Product Sans preferably without rooting or flashing anything? That'd be really great! Thanks in advance!
There is an easy way!
1. Download the attached file and rename .zip to .hwt
2. Copy to Sdcard/Huawei/Themes
3. Restart
4. Opens themes app and select customize -> Fonts. Select the font.
This is not my own work. Venom007 has a thread about this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/themes-apps/noroot-font-styles-updated-02-09-16-t3453559
It doesn't work
It doesn't work. Followed all the steps rigorously and it doesn't appear in the fonts. I'm on a Mate 20 Lite on android 8.1 with emui 8.2, could you please tell me how to make it work? thx. I just noticed its a theme itself, but can't apply it, could you tell me to set it only as a font? not as a theme.
I fixed that, you have to download any font from the Huawei store, then the system creates a new folder named HWfonts, now you go on this folder, and copy the name of the font you have download from the store, now you put this name to the font u want to import, exactly the .ffs file, now you move it to the HWfonts folder and replace the store's font.
Sorry for my explaining I don't know much English...
Basically, you make product sans the theme. Then go to customise, you will see that it is now a text style aswell. So you switch the lock screen style to whatever you want. And the text style will remain product sans. Hope that helped.

Download, unzip, place the .hwt file in Huawei/Themes on your internal card.
Go to Me in the theme app, select my text. And you will see it. Apply, done!
Go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Themes > scroll to bottom to find Product Sans > Select > APPLY
Fix fonts. Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Icons > Select EMUI 11 default fonts > APPLY

Themes / Apps / Mods Custom Magisk Module Mod Maker-ADB and Zip Installers

The purpose of the ADB installer is to generate for you a custom module that you can flash in Magisk App. The Zip Installer actually installs it for you on the final step and is done thru Magisk app instead of your pc.. Both will have all the mods that you have selected from the installer menu-folders. You need root and of course you need to be attached to your PC. On first installation of systemui base, a pop-up asking to give ADB shell root permission will show. Please do so.
Zip installer is installed from your phone, not your pc. You will install the mods through Magisk app. Unzip the Zip Installer onto your internal sdcard. Like ADB installer, start with a SystemUI base. Do not reboot between selections as Magisk as shows after flashing selections (options are found inside the numbered folders). Hit the back button to make your next selection. Do not reboot thru Magisk until after you are done with your selections and have flashed the "Complete Installation" zip.
Custom clocks (date, etc) and internet speed indicators do not change colors due to light-dark background colors like the statusbar icons do.
I'm also including my Pixel Launcher mod below. Also a ADB Installer. You can change app drawer background-text color (separately for light mode and dark mode). Change the number of hot seat icons on home page (and size) as well as change the number of columns in the app drawer.
ADB and Zip Installer Instructions-Root is required
1. Flash a SystemUI Base First. It provides the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work.
The difference between color base and stock base :
Color Base:
You have to flash a color in order to change the color of the QS tiles (default is blue). You have a choice to leave the "OFF" QS tiles as a inverse of "ON" QS color or you can change them to Gray. You also have an option to change lockscreen colors. Color base doesn't always work nicely with light theme. Nothing horible. just some text in places that is not as bright as it needs to be.
Stock Base:
This is the one most people need to use. To change the color of the QS tiles for stock base you go to settings/display/device theme and select the color you want. The "OFF" color tiles remain gray. You have an option to change settings/notification/volume bar backgrounds to black. The background accent also works with Color Base. There is no option to change lockscreen color with Stock Base.
2. FLASH ALL THE MODS YOU WANT. ONCE YOU DONE WITH EVERYTHING, FLASH THE "COMPLETE INSTALLATION" Option. This will create a Magisk App flashable zip in a folder on your sdcard called ozop (for ADB Installer). Flash that to install your selection of mods. Flashing it for Zip Installer will install it as a module and is your final step.
Root required
ADB Instructions.
1. Unzip ADB Mods Installer Files.zip on your PC
2. Run TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat (Give ADB Shell Root Permissions. If missed on first opportunity, turn on in magisk manager, superuser)
3. ADB debugging Enabled
4. Flash the SystemUI Base First. It provides the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
5. Go through the other options selecting what all mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
6. Once finished with selections, run "Complete Installation" at the bottom. This will generate your mymagisk.zip module in a folder called "ozop" on your sdcard.
Root required
ZIP Instructions.
1. Unzip Zip Installer onto your internal sdcard
2. Flash thru Magisk app. Flash the SystemUI Base First. It provides the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
(Do not reboot between selections as Magisk shows after flashing selections. Hit the back button to make your next selection)
3. Go through the other options selecting the mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
4. Once finished with selections, flash "Complete Installation" at the top. This will install your selections as a Magisk module.
If you installed the color base version, once installed and working, go to settings/display/Device theme and reselect the QS/accent color you chose from installer menu.

If anyone needs more help, here are the steps that worked for me:
1) Make sure device is rooted.
2) Enable USB debugging from Developer options.
3) Plug device into PC.
4) Device should have Android launched and sitting at your home screen.
5) On your PC, open ADB from command prompt, and call "adb kill-server" and "adb start-server".
6) Open on TulsadiverModInstallerStock.bat.
7) Type 1 and press Enter. Select an option and press Enter again. You should see a quick flash of text, which indicates failure in this case. Look at your device and you should see an "Allow USB debugging" prompt, so accept this.
8) You should get a Superuser prompt at some point here on your device. If not, go to Magisk > Superuser and enable "Shell".
9) Retry step 7 and it will work this time. The app will take some time to generate the base file. You can ignore any errors that show up here, as long as the creation process continues.
10) Follow any intermediate steps you want. These will be very quick.
11) Complete the last step. This one will take some time.
12) Go to Magisk > Modules > Install from storage, and install the module that was just created (found in the /storage/ozod folder).
13) Reboot.
Hey, it seems very interresting !
2 quick questions. When using full screen gestures, does removing navbar/set height to 0 break things ?
And is it possible to add things like : Double tap to wake (instead of single) // Double tap to sleep on launcher and lockscreen. Thanx !
Unsure about double tap. In regards to navbar, I don't remove it to 0 dip, but to .5. That seems to eliminate breakage. That being said, I'm currently redoing this mod as I've found multiple bugs.
I've identified an issue that causes the navbar to scroll off-screen when the notification panel is shown. First I turn off my screen by pressing the Power button (but phone still kept unlocked by Smart Lock). This causes the issue to start. Then I select the Lockdown option to lock my phone, and this fixes the issue:
screen-20211101-082000[1]
Watch "screen-20211101-082000[1]" on Streamable.
streamable.com
This creates a problem for many apps that have content which is aligned to the bottom of the screen, as it resizes the app's content. It's especially problematic for list content, since the list scrolls up a bit when this happens and the scroll position stays that way:
screen-20211101-081102
Watch "screen-20211101-081102" on Streamable.
streamable.com
EDIT: Wait, is this a problem with stock Android 12 when not using gesture navigation? It still happens even when I disable the Magisk modules. It doesn't seem to be a situation I can even replicate in emulator.
February update has been uploaded.
A new ADB installer has been uploaded to update the "NavbarGone" option due to the 2nd generation February update. That is the only thing that needed updating. Another option would be to replace the "nav0" folder that is inside the "navbar" folder with the attached.

I just added one for 12.1
April update for 12.1 has been uploaded.
Used ADB install for RC/battpercentgoneswap and flashed waterfall28.zip separately. Working perfectly and very easy to install. Also works alongside HideNavBar and USNF. I was banging my head trying to stack the standalone mods.
Thank you for the great work, and thank you for being patient with users like me. So glad to have my battery and time looking the way I expect. You never know how much you miss something until it's gone. The mods really make it so much easier to glance that information.

Glad you tried it and that it worked for you. Also, thank you for your support.
Mods for April update will work on May update.
I uploaded the old firmware. There were some changes, apparently. Please hold off for a while.
The services.jar and SystemUI has changed. It's going to have to be updated.
June update has been uploaded.
June update working and easy install! Think you could incorporate waterfall28 into the ADB installer so it's a one-stop shop? Right now I have to reboot and flash them separately, which is fine. However, I have been using your mod for many months and intend to continue for even more. It would be a nice convenience.
