How do you install Magisk on Oppo A9. e.g. without TWRP/a custom recovery? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do you install Magisk on Oppo A9. e.g. without TWRP/a custom recovery?
I understand that maybe a custom TWRP might not have been written for the Oppo A5.
Looking at the instructions https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-magisk/ it mentions a custom recovery or TWRP as a pre-requisite.

If phone's bootloader is unlocked and Android is rooted then watch this video:

twrp

guys, whats the last version of twrp and how can i install it? Do i need to root my phone or can i flash directly one custom rom after i install the twrp?
The twrp functions for rom flashing. There is no root required because it is a system before the actual Android system. You should read some articles about what twrp is and stuff.

Custom recovery for Zuum Sirius (Coppel)

It's a phone sold only in mexico it seems, network unlocked, bootloader unlocked, dual sim. Here are the phone specs:

I want to have root acces and a custom recovery obviously, but there is no official custom recovery (TWRP nor CWM), and, for tools like Easy Magic TWRP Installer to work is neccesary to have root acces. I've tried tools like Kingo Root, but it did't work, and most methods to have root in these cases is to flash supersu.zip through twrp or cwm. I've tried to port a recovery for mt6580 using a method like this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-twrp-3-0-x-mediatek-devices-t3379681 , flashed it but didn't work and stock recovery is still there. I have a stock rom [URL="https://www.needrom.com/download/zuum-sirius-coppel[/URL], and TWRP's official compilation guide says that I need certain BoardConfig.mk file, which I can't find anywhere in the uncompressed stock recovery. Does somebody knows if yuweng's script for compiling twrp with bbqlinux works without root?
Thanks in advance , help of any kind is welcome

Custom recovery and ROM for Umidigi A3 - Android 9

Hello!
Just received my Umidigi A3 - MT6739.
Firmware is Android 9, latest release: N Android 9.0 V1.3_20190610 ROM
I would like to flash a custom recovery (TWRP) and flash a custom ROM - like Lineage OS or Stock Android.
This is not the first time I root and flash an android device, however I am having difficulties finding the right files.
I tried to install custom TWRP recovery both through ADB tool and with SP flash tool.
I initially unlocked the OEM and bootloader using ADB tools, then I tried to flash a TWRP recovery image I found online but it turned out to be for Android 8.1 and not Android 9.
The phone switches on and boots normally - however I still don't have a custom recovery nor the possibility to install a custom ROM.
Here's a list of threads I already looked at and tested:

Did anyone who has the same phone manage to do such?
Thanks!
A3 TWRP Recovery
Hi,
It sounds like you have tried all the available options and since I have Android 8.1 mine is not the same. I can tell you that just in case you haven't seen this page yet, it may help, as it worked perfectly for me.

Do i need to root my phone in order to install custom ROM?

I have a Xiaomi Mi 4 phone. android version is 7.1.2 and my phone manufacturer is not likely to release android 8 update for my model. So i plan to install android 8 using custom rom. I read steps to install different custom ROM's and i have some doubts.
Do i need to root my phone in order to install custom ROM or is if sufficient if i just unlock bootloader and install TWRP recovery? Please note rooting phone is a step mentioned AFTER unlocking bootloader and installing TWRP recovery in order to root phones but i am just wondering if this rooting step is necessary at all if my purpose is only installing custom ROM.

[Q] Root after flash TWRP

I have used one plus and mi till now and rooting or flash twrp is smooth there.
using ODIn and magisk patch flashing is uncharted territory for me. There are threads which are confusing for me. I just want root my device. Flashing patched firmware through magisk seems difficult to me with a fear of getting bricked.
And the TWRP thread of flashing twrp is not explicit if after flash twrp i can just flash magisk.zip. Any one out here who can explain it to me like 5.
I just want a root. I have bootloader unlocked on my SM-T865, 4G INDIA model
TWRP method is the easiest imo. You just use Odin to Flash TWRP, then use TWRP to flash the custom Kernel, encryption disabler and Magisk. There's no need to patch anything.
