Huawei Mate 20 Pro Emui 11 beta downgrade - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi all! My device is LYA-L29 C432.
Is there a way to downgrade from 11.0.0.118 beta back to 10.1.x.xxx? I have tried using HiSuite but on the update tab the update to older versions never shows up. I have also tried downloading multiple LYA-L29 C432 full OTA 10.1 packages and extracting UPDATE.APP file to dload folder on a USB and trying to force update using *#*#2846579#*#* but after the automatic restart it says that update failed. Tried different USB stick. Am I doing something wrong?
Can you please help?

I always thinked that leaving the project from beta app has as conseguence the downgrade to previous version

[Guide] : How to use updates packages already downloaded

Hello
If you have already downloaded the updates packages, you don't need to redownload them via "System update"
Just copy them to Internal storage and follow the video
(In my case I need "update.zip" and "update_data_full_public.zip" and "update_full_VIE-L29_hw_meafnaf.zip")
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4nOXgsic1o
I have all the three files, but in my case the "System Update" option on the settings just not appear. How should I procceed?

The same as mine, lol. VIE-L29C636 running B370.
I've tried most of Firmware Finder's compatible versions B382, B384, but none of them work (through deload folder and 'forced' update).
The only one which works is the 81131 (VIE-L29C636B370).
have you tried to search in setting
also check in Setting -> Apps if they are the "System update" apps
I got b384 on system update ota
I search in setting "system update" appear but its not work, in setting->apps not appear
I'm not sure, but I think that when you have update to B370, the additional pack have not been installed.
try to download this pack update_full_hw_spcseas.zip and flash it with twrp

i flash this in TWRP and now i cant boot to device, please help me
I downloaded rom b384 to copy to internal storage and install by twrp but not, is there any way to install rom from twrp
@vurobben, as long as I know and read about, there's no way to install it unless trough the System Update.
If your mobile is not booting, you've to download the version that allow you to update trough dload folder (in my case, the only one which do this is the 81131 - VIE-L29C636B370). Then, you've to install via TWRP the files that @xzanium said.
In my case, I'll try to do it at night. I've tried to locate the Update on the settings, and also in the apps.
And now my phone no os, i just boot in twrp recovery. Can you make a backup file in twrp and up to google drive?
sorry, my phone is VIE-L29C185
to fix your problem you must download the rollback package(C900B300) and firmware package (C636B190) from this page : http://consumer.huawei.com/kh/support/downloads/index.htm
(search for Keyword "P9 plus")
then install rollback package via 3 buttons methode (vol+ , vol- , power)
then the B190 package
I'll try to updload the files tonight.
I'm trying to do this rollback. Acually I did not know how to do it. I'll try the way @xzanium mentioned.
just extract teh zip file, then copy the dload folder to sd card
shutdown the phone
press all 3 buttons
It kind of did the trick. Now the Build Number is VIE-L19C900B300, but the EMUI is still 5.0 and Android 7.0 (Nougat). I think it'll solve @vurobben boot looping problem.
But.. the System Update option still not appear, and the clock does not work also
I'll keep trying.
Now I'm going to update for 370 (dload), then install TWRP and flash these ZIP files: 1)update_data_full_hw_spcseas, 2) update_data_full_public and 3) update_full_hw_spcseas.
[edit]
Mine is not woking anymore..
I've tried to flash the 'update_data_full_hw_spcseas', but it's in a bootloopping also. Tried to roolback again, but didn't work this time.
Now it enters in Huawei eRecovery, try to get the recovery from the server but fails..
[edit2]
I've installed the Rollback (dload), then I've downloaded the "HUAWEI P9 Plus Firmware (VIE-L29, Android6.0, EMUI4.1.1, C636B190, Thailand, Cambodia, Nonspecific)" on the same site that @xzanium mentioned and installed just after the rollback. Everithing is working now.
I've just checked and I'm on EMUI 4.1.1, Androind 6 (M) and Build VIE-L29C636B190. The goodnews is that the "System Update" is workind now. Tomorrow I'll try to update to Androin N and get everithing fine there also.
Thanks for the help.

when rollback bootloader unlock or relock?
I could not verify yet, but I thing it does lock the bootloader again, because the bootloader option is enable under the developer settings again.

Mate 10 ALP-L09 C212 EMUI 9 dload method

Currently on EMUI 8 and looking to update to EMUI 9 but I still haven't received the update. Looking to use the dload method maybe.
I'm on ALP-L09 8.0.0.137 (C212) but it's a custom version I believe. It says "Custum version: CUSTC212D001"
I was wondering if I could download ALP-L09 9.0.0.159 (C212) from FirmwareFinder (Says it's not approved for installation even though it's the same region, probably because I have a custom version from my cellphone provider AT&T Mexico) and install it via the dload method.
Would this brick my phone and how would I do the dload method exactly?
I'm on the same boat, and 159 has been in FF for over a month now only in FullOTA. Pinche ATT nunca aprueba rĂ¡pido las cosas....

You can't install regular updates as dload. You would need service firmware from androidhost.ru

Extract the downloaded zip. Go into the Software folder, copy 'dload' folder to the root of a micro sd. Put micro sd in your phone, reboot while holding vol up + down. This will put you in dload mode where update will start (takes a while).
Alternatively you can open dialer app and enter:*#*#2846579#*#*, this will open Projectmenu. Tap on Software upgrade, SD Upgrade, 'yes'. Phone will reboot to dload mode and start update.
@ante0 i have usa version and it doesnt have microsd slot, i was able to download full rom from ff along with data rom as well, i extracted update.app, now do i have to flash each partition seperately or just system and i have no clue what those commands are, i have tried it with usb otg and dialer pad method but it said install failed, i also registered it in ff and tried erecovery method but my phone does not boot to erecovery only regular recovery, i can boot to fastboot fine, this phone was never bl unlocked, any ideas on how to proceed.

It doesn't work with firmware from FF. Those are online only.
What happens if you boot device and hold volume up after the Huawei logo?

No, you can't just download and install it that way first off it is not approved which means your stock recovery won't install it, second there is no "dload" method for upgrades, that only works for service ROMs, and third, if your phone has a carrier provided ROM that is customized, updates will come from the carrier.

Nope, doesn't work that way, to use a different region ROM you would have to rebranding your phone to another region.

dload firmware has a sd_update.zip in it. That one you don't extract.
regular update.zip will not work with dload.

Hello everyone,
my Mate 10 Pro BLA-L09C55 always boots in recovery mode after HiSuite update. Now I've tried all recovery methods and didn't work, even dload method.

Hi, if I may ask, what firmware have you tried?
You can flash via dload Service ROM only.
I've tried lots of service firmwares from androidhost.ru, for lots of different mate 10 pro modes, but without success. The only time when install started and then failed at 5% was when I renamed a 9.0.0 for BLA-L09 in BLA-AL00, I think it's because I made a mistake installing a BLA-AL00 emui 10 firmware

HELP! Brick after update to mismatched EMUI 10

Similar with many other soft brick problems, I updated my Mate20 Pro (C800E18R1P16, Softbank, Japan) to a mismatched version LYA-L09 10.0.0.154(C432E7R15) from post https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/help/lya-l09-emui-10-firmware-t4021495. However, without any luck, update failed. I got message "Your device has loaded a different operating system". I seems the emui10 rom still not ready in my region... :crying:
I have tried several solutions, but all failed.
1. tried other mismatched EMUI10 ROM (rename and w/o rename). Failed, of course.
2. tried matched EMUI9.1 ROM to rollback sys. Failed.
3. tried mismatched EMUI9.1 ROM. Failed. <- this is how i update from 9.0 to 9.1.
All this solutions are OTG style. Since my bootloader is locked, I cannot try fastboot.
I think I'm stucked here. Please help!
Thank you so much!

So you are with
EMUI10 base
EMUI cust undetermined version
EMUI preload undetermined version
At first, cust&preload just need to be at emui10 version. DC-Phoenix could help force flash cust &/or preload both to some EMUI10 any vendorcountry which would succeed.
Then in a second time, once booting to normal mode just fine, you could fix them to proper vendorcountry hicloud's cust&preload by forced patched hisuite process (proxy/dns).

[Q] How to reset to stock firmware (force upgrade) Huawei Mate 10 Lite (RNE-L21)

Hello,
I wanted to flash Lineage OS 15.1 on my Huawei Mate 10 Lite (RNE-L21). I have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP 3.1.1-0 (OpenKirin Edition, from here: Link).
Unfortunately, when only wanting to do a factory reset prior to the Lineage OS install, I accidentally wiped my system partition. Now Lineage OS won't install, as it is lacking the stock system (checks the system prior to the install, see XDA-LineageOS15.1-Link).
Now I want to install the stock firmware, in order to install Lineage OS. For this reason I checked my phones region and fastboot getvar vendorcountry returned vendorcountry: hw/eu. So I guess I am on C432? Please correct me if I am wrong. So I downloaded the RNE-L21C432B304 firmware from here. The downloaded update.zip folder with a fairly huge UPDATE.APP file (>4GB) I unzipped and put on the external-sd card in a folder named "dload". Inside the dload folder there is the UPDATE.APP file among some other files (folder META-INF, new_filecontext_system, ...). However, when I now enter the software upgrade mode (power + both volume keys) the install breaks at 5%. It seems that it either can't detect the UPDATE.APP file, or it is the wrong one. I also tried to put the dload folder into /sdcard/, but the outcome is the same. Also if I don't add any files (so no dload folder), the outcome is the same, it breaks at 5%, so I am not sure if it is even checking the UPDATE.APP file.
I hope somebody has a hint for me.
Best, Felix
P.s.: I also tried to flash the OpenKirin EMUI 8-based Build LineageOS 16.0 Build 2 using their guide (OpenKirin Installation Guide), which wasn't working. But as they state you need to have EMUI 8.0 installed, I guess the problem is that I don't have any system installed at the moment.
I finally figured it out. I was on Android 7 before deleting the system partiton. I didn't know there is such a big difference partitionwise between Android 7 and 8 and I always tried to flash an Android 8 image. Flashing an Android 7 image worked. Then I could update to Andorid 8 via stock Huawei tools and afterwards flash a custom rom.
