I agree. Looking forward to it when it comes. Unfortunately they only have it for the OP Nord only, for now. That's why I had to also 'settle' for a clear TPU.

I bought this case for my Nord N10 5G. I really like their modular mount system

The Otterbox case I have seems pretty good:
Black Protective Oneplus Nord N10 5G Case | OtterBox
Commuter Series is the protective OnePlus Nord N10 5G case featuring a soft internal slipcover and hard external shell for on-the-go defense
www.otterbox.com

You need a good case. High G impacts can damage chipsets and mobos even if the external covers and frame rail survive. An impact that can bend frame rail or cracked the display can certainly cause internal damage by G loading alone. A good case spreads out the G loading over more time, absorbs some of the energy and makes the drop survivable.
Many cases claim mil spec drop resistance but a 4 foot drop onto plywood covered concrete isn't the same as a 2 foot drop onto concrete! That's if they actually even tested it, some don't.
Slim pickens for this phone so far, sorry. I use the Zizo Bolt on corner hitting Note 10+. Zero damage in spite of near a dozen drops onto concrete. Zizo hasn't picked up the OnePlus line unfortunately.
Two layer composite protection works best but the layers must remain in place on impact. The flying through the air double impact drops are why this is important. Sounds impossible until you're witnessing a phone doing this death dance bouncing around on the concrete
The Bolts 2 layer case doesn't come apart easily, by accident or on purpose. Look for cases with similar design.

I went with the Poetic Guardian. Good compromise between protection and being able to not carry a brick. I first ordered the Revolution but it was way to big to hold.

Heavy Duty "Active Cases" for Pixel?

Before my Pixel I had an HTC One M8 with a Spigen Slim Armor. I ride a bicycle both on road and off road. I fell off my bike onto my right thigh pocket where my phone was and ended up denting the phone.
In my search the Otterbox Commuter/Defender seems to be the only options for true-heavy duty Pixel cases. If I get the Defender I would have to stop using my glass screen protector. The Commuter seems more reasonable, but ( as for any non-Apple/Samsung Otterbox) has only 2 color options and yes I know I'm being picky now.
Does anyone have any other recommendations for a good impact resistant cases? I don't think I'm ever not gonna carry my phone when I ride my bike, so I want a somewhat heavy duty case that can prevent the phone scenario that I previously described. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I had a Supcase for one of my phones before and I did not like the built in screen protector. When I took it off it ended up scratching my front glass display somehow. Also the back did not feel as rigid as the OtterBox cases.

Ah ok. The Spigen tough armor is great. It's one of my favorites. I currently have the rugged armor and love it

I'd totally recommend the UAG case with a Spigen tempered glass screen protector (If you're into screen protectors). I've dropped my Pixel a few times already with my UAG case and it survived. Used them on my last HTC M9 as well, no complaints!
I agree. The UAG with a tempered glass is a good combo to tackle those accidental drops. The UAG upper lip around the phone safeguards the phone really well. I have used the defender before, somehow the built in screen protector doesn't feel nice and dust keeps coming in. Another option would be the OtterBox commuter as you mentioned

YOUMAKER Slim Fit Full-body Rugged Heavy Duty Protection Cover Case for Google Pixel . It is dual-layer structure of premium shock-absorbing TPU and durable hard polycarbonate provide protection against accidental drops, bumps and shock. It is also belt clip holster provides an easy solution of carrying the device during travel and work.
UAG, Spigen Rugged, Orzly (Fusion, Great impact resistance but case prune to scratches), Have all the 3 cases UAG feels great also looks good on phone (Personal preference), Spigen no choice of colors, unless you buy their other series like slim armor blah blah but sturdy. I keep switching between Spigen and UAG, Use orzly occasionally for it glow in dark rim (Only with White).
I got a Lifeproof for my pixel. Best case out there. From now on when I upgrade phones, the availability of a Lifeproof case will be a strong consideration.
I went for the rhinoshield crashguard. It has impact resistance of 11 foot drops but is a bumper case so it leaves the fingerprint reader unimpeded. That being said, it wont stop bending or impacts directly to the glass, but I use it with a tempered glass cover.
It's been great for me because I feel comfortable filming from my skateboard or bike without worrying about having a wrist strap.

Hi, I've just bought a Lifeproof Fre for my Pixel. The flip camera gesture to swap in and out of selfie mode does not work with this case on, and neither does the "lift to check phone" one. Are you experiencing these issues too? And does the screen go black when making a phone call? (Can't end the call or do anything on the screen during call).

I'm not experiencing any of these issues with this case. Not even sure how a case would effect these things.

What is the most sturdiest transparent case on the market?

Hey folks,
what's the most sturdiest transparent case on the currently market?
I basically want to have the protection level of a Pelican Shield or Zizo Bolt (those are iPhone cases, but basically that's the "protection category" I am looking for), while still being able to enjoy the sweet twilight color on the back of my phone.
Does this exist? Any suggestions?
Also looking for the best glass screen protector to go with the case in order to eliminate the possibility of damage to the screen or phone when dropping it.
Check out the cases that UAG sell, I bought a Plyo from Amazon. I don't use a screen protector with mine. https://www.urbanarmorgear.com/collections/p20-pro
Hello.
I went for these pair from Amazon.
Huawei P20 PRO Case, Spigen [Ultra Hybrid] Flexible TPU Hard PC Back All Round Protection Phone Case Cover

Spigen Huawei P20 Pro Screen Protector, HD Full Coverage, Edge to Edge Protection
/gp/product/B07CGD26Q7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The case has some nice notches on the rear to keep the cameras from touching the surface, although the protector is a few mm short and there's a collection of dust between that and the case but very easy to apply.
I'd paste the full link but I can't I'm sure you know what parts missing mind....
Got the UAG Pylo. Expensive as ****, but here's hoping that it will actually provide protection if the worst should happen and the phone drops. Thanks
after much research, I got the Ringke Fusion, eBay item number 323312202335 - has camera protection on the back as the surround sits higher than the lens instead of being flush like most of the others
doesn't cling to the back of the phone too, leaving the twilight colour looking just as it should, unlike the cheap case supplied with the phone

Finally!! UB Pro for 6t!

Supcase makes a great full protection case called Unicorn Beetle Pro. Some of you are surely familiar with it. For those not, give it a look. It offers the most protection for our phones, at a reasonable price. You can search "UB Pro OnePlus 6t" to find vendors.

I took the built in screen protector when I bought one for my iPhone x. Had a glass screen protector on the phone and it felt so much better. Not hard to take off just take your time going around.
FYI: The case looks like it is the exact same as Poetic Guardian, but Poetic's is cheaper.
Cant speak for poetic. But ive used unicorn beetles for years. Always top notch. Ide pay a few more bux unless i saw an awesome review on the poetic.
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
Used poetic cases on essential and pix 2xl and they were about the same quality as a Spigen of the same build type.
I ordered the Poetic with the clear back while waiting for UB Pro to release. It is similar except they cut a notch where the camera is which means dust ends up behind the screen protector on the poetic also it feels looser the screen protector has some play and the back clear portion fills with pocket dust also since its not tight to the phone either. Also the UB Pro has a kickstand I would say if u dont mind dust behind the screen protector and the back get the cheaper Poetic if you want a tighter more dust resistant case with kickstand get the UB Pro

As a former user of a UB Pro on a Nexus 6P, yes. I utilized a intelliglass/intelliarmor Tempered glass screen protector after removing the built-in plastic cover.
Now, I am using the Poetic Revolution with the OP6T. I did the same thing with the built-in screen cover. Currently, have a tempered glass screen protector for it....just waiting for the plastic one to fall off/peel up.
For removing the built-in plastic (or at least what worked for me), heat up the adhesive a bit to loosen it up and then use a utility knife/blade to slide it under the plastic. Your mileage may vary, so be careful to use the knife/blade away from yourself (cut away) and the plastic case may heat up (watch out for hot surfaces with your finger tips).
For those with the UB Pro case, how is the flap covering the alert slider? On the Poetic, it can be a little bit difficult to switch the slider.
I purchased a Unicorn Beatle case for my Moto g5 Plus over a year ago. Yesterday I purchased a new OnePlus 6T from OnePlus, and after performing an extensive search over the past two weeks to discover if there have been any new rugged cases designed since then that may outperform the Unicorn Beetle Pro, I've concluded the Poetic Revolution is the only one that comes close but the Unicorn Beetle Pro still reigns as champion in my honest opinion. Why? Because it's honestly the best case for those who value the best protection for their phone.
Unicorn Beetle Pro vs. Poetic Revolution
I've never purchased a Poetic Revolution case, but I can share my experiences and knowledge of the UB Pro and the subtle differences I've recognized between the two. Although the two appear to almost identical, at first glance, there are a couple subtle differences I feel give the UB Pro an advantage over the Poetic Revolution. For example, the corner bumpers of the UB Pro are extended/larger to add additional protection, not only from corner impacts but also side impacts between the corners. Inside these corners are larger air chambers to add cushioning protection in order to absorb shock and impacts. These raised corner bumpers also provide additional side clearance that protects the buttons and the side of the device from impacts. Then there's the included holster which is an obvious advantage over the Poetic Revolution package, and it's a good holster. I've had phone holsters in the past that didn't hold up to every day impacts and rubs, and the belt clip ended up easily and unrepairably breaking off, almost effortlessly. However, the UB Pro holster has put up with a surprising amount of impacts and rubs without any issues at all.
The Unicorn Beatle body rubber is firm, yet soft enough to absorb shock and prevent damage to the device. I've had numerous accidental drops throughout the year while handling the device, even down a flight of steps, and the UB Pro has done exactly what it's suppose to do, protect my device. It's never disappointed me.
I don't know what thickness the Poetic Revolution case provides, but I measured various areas of my UB Pro case with a caliper and found the back thickness of the case to be .13" (3.302mm) thick, and it's made of a blend of rubber and polymer. The front protection for the phone screen is what makes the Unicorn Beatle stand out from most if not all of the other phone cases I've seen. Around the perimiter of the device screen is a raised lip which measures a strong .13" (3.302mm) above the device screen. This is the same clearance provided for the rear camera. Many people don't realize the huge advantage this provides toward protecting your device screen and camera lens, far and above all of the other phone cases I've tried which only measured around 0.0393701" (1mm) to 0.0590551" (1.5mm) at the most. Why is this an advantage? So glad you asked, lol. In the event your phone slips from your hand and lands face down outside, there's a good possibility Mr. or Mrs. Pebble (which ranges from 2-4mm) could be waiting in ambush for the opportunity to focus all of its attention on one tiny location on your screen with a kiss, which will more than likely shatter the phone screen. The Unicorn Beatle is the only phone case I've come across to date that provides an additional 0.0984252" (2.5mm) clearance beyond what all of the other cases provide. I believe Supcase has intentionally designed this in because they understand the importance of not only protecting the back and side of your device, but also your device screen from the kiss of disaster by Mr or Mrs Pebble.
As for the built in screen protector on the Unicorn Beatle case, meh. It will protect your device from key and coin scratches, but it allow dust and debris to get between the plastic screen protector and the phone screen (at least with the Moto G5 Plus), which in turn could damage the phone screen. Initially, I installed a tempered glass screen protector on my device screen in combination with the UB Pro plastic screen protector, however, I ultimately pulled off the plastic screen protector built into the Unicorn Beatle frame and cleaned off all of the glue. With that said, I've had no issues with the Unicorn Beatle case causing any problems with the tempered glass screen protector installed on my device.
Best wishes to you. If you choose to purchase a Unicorn Beatle case and holster package, I believe you'll be fully satisfied by the level of protection it provides.
Perhaps if someone out there has the Poetic Revolution case, they can take some measurements to show additional comparisons between the two. Or, I may order one in order to post the differences in here.
Shalom aleichem
I have a poetic case.
I left the stock screen protector on.
The dust part is annoying, I miss the LifeProof case I had on my pixel XL.
Only modification I made was the cut off the USB hinge, as I felt the hinge was putting pressure on the USB cable while plugged in, and therefore putting pressure on the USB internal connector.
So as a precaution, I trimmed it off with an exacto blade, and now it's much easier to plug in the us cable in the car especially.
I already got my unicorn beetle pro case from supcase -- amazon fulfilled the order. I bought mine for 22 bucks.

What Case is everyone going with for their S20 Ultra?

Just wanting to see what all cases everyone is getting for their S20 Ultra. I am debating on getting the UAG Monarch Series case again. Their really good cases and not bulky at all.
I've preordered the Samsung Protective Standing Cover along with the phone.
I've also ordered a Zizo Bolt.
I used to like UAG Monarch, UAG Plasma and Otterbox Symmetry cases, but they offer very little drop protection at the bottom lip, which is loose.
Also thinking of getting the Speck Presidio Grip and Gear4 Battersea.
I work in a factory environment so defender/whitestone all the way...
I'm trying to find one that will a) have built-in magnets for magnetic mounting (want them built-in so there's no bulge from inserting a flat one between the case and the phone so it lies flat on it's back), and b) have those magnets in a place where it minimizes disruption to wireless charging. The only one I was able to find for my S9 was by Pitaka (with their own magnetic mount, which makes sense since the magnets are in a non-standard location), but the case had an issue where the top/bottom/side lips wouldn't extend past the front face to protect the screen from lying flat on it's front on a desk.

Nice- thanks!
Pitaka, since many years, for day to day / office, dBrand Grip case (with custom pitaka plates under the back sticker) as a self made 'Pitaka pro' for days with higher demand for protection.
Using Pitaka in the car daily, so I want that option ti stick it to my magnetic Qi charger in the car.
Latercase for me. Probably the DBrand case and skin also
I'll go with the Spigen Neo Hybrid. Slim enough not to be embarrassing, but offers drop protection. Gone are the days of OB Defender, UAG, etc. Second option would be the SupCase Unicorn Beetle.
I also buy the QuadLock case for the Summer, to use with my bike.
Black leather offical from their site. Although most of the time I don't use a case even though I should. But given the hefty price tag it probably will be wise to keep it on

The (Samsung) black leather case was nice from the S10+ series. Got an open box from Best Buy for $29 in perfect condition although the package looked like Flossy opened it! LOL. The silicone IMO was junk!
The rugged (Samsung) case is great, the kickstand comes in handy. I have one on my S10 5G and Note 10+ and will be picking one up for the S20U.
I may splurge and get the Pitaka for the S20U as the pics I've seen with the phone in it just look plain sick!
I'm gonna start with the Caseology Parallax and Spigen Neo Hybrid for now. Got them both on the way!
Spigen Rugged Armor, already in hand lol
Been using S-view cover on N10+ since September, it does great screen protection job, don't want anything else for my S20 Ultra. Scratch protection 24/7 and a piece of mind when the phone is being put into or taken out of jacket or pant's pockets. My N+10 screen still has a 'mint' looks even after 6 months of use w/o any protective film, I peeled that off right after getting it.

OtterBox defender arrived today. I thought it had a screen protector like the Unicorn Beetle, so returning it. The problem with the Unicorn Beetle on my previous phone was that the cover latch broke over time. This happened to other people I know as well. Also, reviews show that there are issues with using the fingerprint reader with the Pixel 6. Too bad, as otherwise I like the case, even though I had to use a Dremel tool to grind off the holster since I keep the phone in my pocket and it added extra bulk.
Debated on a Unicorn Beetle Pro case, had a great experience in the past with one. But wasn't too sure on the screen protector as the past one didn't have that included. Ended up getting the Caseology Parallax. Shows up today. Was half the price. Idk....second guessing now. LOL
