DAC support - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I've recently flashed Pixel Experience on my POCO F1 and I listen to music so much and I use a small DAC that I bought online. When I was on stock MIUI, everything works fine when I plug my DAC but when I was on PE, it doesn't work. It works sometimes and it disconnects quickly. Any reason why this happens? I've been trying to search online what seems to be the problem and I read that Pixel Experience has the better DAC support but it doesn't. I really like the Pixel Experience rom because it's better than stock MIUI. I downloaded the android 11 version.

Best Rom for Kate, Miui is to far behind

Hi all,
I'am quite happy with my Redmi Note 3 Pro SE (Kate).
And Miui is also quite good. Love the battery life.
However,
I run the Global Beta rom weekly, and the version is 7.6.8.
Dating back from June 2017. And it doesn't look like there will be an update any time soon.
So.... I'am looking for an other rom.
But what one to choose?
LineageOS 14.1?
Nitrogen OS?
ResurrectionRemix 5.8.x?
CarbonRom?
ViperOS?
Or... Wait and stay on Miui?
What is important to me.
Stable
Battery friendly
Good Bluetooth (have android wear watch (Huawei Watch) and bt headphones (MDR-1000X))
Good GPS (Sygic)
Good and stable Camera
Good Music
SD card (128GB Samsung Evo+) should work perfectly
4G (LTE) should work stable and fast
Voice recording (in-call)
And ofcourse calls should be good and stable
I don't do gaming, so no interests there.
Please,
Advice me in a Rom to take, and explain why that rom instead of an other rom.
Thanks in advance.
Use Nexus Experience ROM with Radon kernel with performance settings.
For better music use shox audio mod for our device.
For good camera use the HDR and 60fps canera which is recently ported.
Enjoy!
NX ROM with Radon kernel is great (still using Marshmallow though, because of no Xposed on Nougat).

@deepjyoti30 Which ported camera? Do you have a link?
This one

Uploaded today. Pretty awesome. Bdw i think xposed for night is out now.

Bluetooth bugs

Hi guys I have a problem with using my Pocophone F1 to play music from my bluetooth speaker. When i connect it there is no sound coming out of either the phone or the speaker. I know the speaker works because I tested it with other devices. I am on miui global version 10.0.6.0 OEJMIFH if that helps. Also I tested with another speaker and the same issue remained.
I kinda don't want to change to a custom rom like lineageOS because I am worried that there are a lot of bugs on these kinds of software (but to be honest MIUI has its own fair share of bugs)
How are your experiences with custom roms?
Any help would be much appreciated guys.
PS. I am in the UK by the way if that would make a difference.

Should i get one ?

Hello every one ,
Im considering to get pocofone, and i wanted to hear some suggestions from you guys that are actualy using the phone.
Currently i have Mia1 on pie update , with google camera , and ota working , i did it back on nougat and since than i've been quite happy with this phone and still am , so i didn't play with custom roms with it . Before i had a nexus 6 , so i love stock android. My moms S4 jfltexx is dying , so i will give her my MiA1.
And the only phone worth it on a 350$ phone right now for me seems pocofone. Only concern for me is miui but im open to it ,as i've never tried it before.
How has been the experience to you guys. I've seen a lot of reviwes on youtube, and for me it checks most of the boxes, but hearing from users here on xda is always better :victory:
I mostly use my phone for youtube, reddit and xda , and randomly play pubg with friends, no other real gaming. And i love HEADPHONE JACK
Sorry for long post , and thanks for any suggestion.

Go for it, if you like MIUI cool, if you don't flash Pixel Experience rom and you get stock Android back
Better get Asus Zenfone 5z or 1+6T If you can spend a bit more.
I have Pocophone for over 1 month now and i love this phone. Some experience touch issue lag, but i don't, the stock camera is not that good indoor or low light, but you can install google camera apk with night mode here from xda and the image quality will be flagship level, video quality with stock camera is good with 960 fps slow mo, 4k 60 fps and 1080p image stabilization. The screen is good, build quality is good, MIUI is good looking in my opinion and has some extras that stock android doesn't have, before this i had a nexus 5x and i was a fan of stock android.
I moved from samsung note 4 to pocophone and i must say i will never again buy samsung. I love pocophone i think is best value phone , go for it

I'm gonna buy this phone tomorrow, coming from the mate 9, will I like it? =)

How is the headphone sound quality? I didn't like the oneplus 6t. This uses an adapter right?

I use bt earbuds so cant answer that part. It is usb-c only and does come with adapter if you dont have usb-c headphones.

I've never head of it but now that I'm watching the youtube video about it I should have used it for my mate 9. I guess no need to mess around with an audio file and change the settings using a root explorer.
Actually i was just going to tell you about Mi 8 lite sound quality.. I can bet you that after gaining root permission if you install viper4android and dolby atmos you will find a experience like a charm... If you dont want risk it then dont..Its my personal experience..

I'll do it for sure. I've been rooting all my phones since the G1 so I'm fine with it =). I'll look up dolby atmos also. I want things I can forget about and not have to turn on so hopefully these work that way.
Edit: I'm going to install a different rom so maybe I should ask you guys if you've tried any you like. Do you like the pixel experience?

I use custom miui roms. Such as mi-globe and miuipro because I like miui which is half of the reason I purchased a miui device. Far as custom aosp I think the most feature packed rom is havoc OS.
Resurrection Remix the masterpiece of course.
I'm getting an Error 7 so following some instructions on youtube for getting around that. Hopefully it works
Edit: the how to fix video worked perfect. Installed resurrection remix and it's a great rom. So so so much better than the stock mui 10. It comes with AudioFX installed but need to figure out how to get viper4android installed. I did it through magisk but it doesn't show up as an app in the drawer but shows up on a list in magisk.
I suggest you installing Havoc Os
If you like Pixel stock Android with extra options, I suggest you to install Pixel Experience Plus. For me, is the best stable of all AOSP custom roms for this device.

Request: Poco X2/K30 MIUI port for Pocophone F1

Even though Pocophone F1 has official Android 10, its rather an old MIUI 11, which is slow and buggy compared to latest MIUI builds.
Looking at Poco X2/K30 videos on YouTube, the newer MIUI looks much smoother and optimized, when compared to F1, apps opened quicker even though processor of X2 is weaker (730g or 765g vs 845)
Given F1's age (and current situation due to pandemic that slow down businesses), it may be unlikely we get any updates from Xiaomi other than security patch. So it would be great to have the MIUI ports from X2/K30 into F1.
There are many AOSP/stock like ROMs out there which are excellent, but they don't provide certain useful features MIUI provide.
lmao, port rom will be more buggy.
Enjoy ur phone or buy google pixel
Why pixel? You could just use gsi roms and have a phone with headphone jack. But again the useful features of miui will be missing. Miui 12 will probably not come for f1
Why don't you just flash and Use MIUI based Roms like revolutionOS or Mi Room?

Mi room ROMs are out of date and are glitch as is revolution ROMs.......
This is actually a great idea cause Poco's miui is the most unstable one right now
Even the android Q custom roms are buggy
Q is horribly buggy... my experience with POCO MIUI Q is bad SOTs, Poco Launcher lag, Heating up!
Looks like every corporate is the same
The official Miui 11 for pocophone F1 is bad indeed. Anything after 10.3.8.0 has been buggy and unusable for daily use, and get poor battery life.
It look like Xiaomi didn't release any miui beta roms for poco f1. Other phones of 2018 using sd845 (such as mi9) got 20.x.x beta ROMs which seem to include upcoming features from miui 12.
This most likely means we don't get any feature updates, only security patch. However, poco x2 from this year will get miui 12 so it would be great idea to get port from it.

Have you tried crDroid Q? I switched to crDroid (6.4) about a month ago and so far its been very solid and bug-free barring one random reboot. I haven't tried any other Q ROM.

It still has bluetooth problems in PC fan or rgb controlling apps and many more
And the /system is read only
And these are on every custom rom and android Q
I guess it's google's fault
If they aren't gonna fix this it means that Pie is the most stable and full android out there
I'm a total noob at porting, once tried porting Mi8's rom to Poco F1. Sound wasn't working and I gave up. And Mi8 is the closest thing to F1 honestly. Try the ported Q Roms in Telegram, way better than stock miui in Poco. I'll try investigating about porting X2 to F1 though, if anyone wants to help, I'm welcome. I still don't understand vendor/firmware and stuff like that.
