Late reply, but yea, there's a A4, an A40 and an A42 forum. Not sure why there's no A41 forum.

and is there any Custom ROM for this model or is it better to forget it?
I was using different search engines and tried to look on 4pda russian site and some german site with no luck

i also have this model and want to root it. i've found a few sites that have a how-to but i do not trust them.

Seems like A41 and A51 are taking off here, I know at least 5 people with them, they got them last year, but yeah, not much on the techy web about it.

Are you rooted now?
It is pretty easy with Magisk.
Base thing is to have original software, that you can download from https://www.sammobile.com.
BTW:
Some folk, me included, requested to add this device to inventory but so far not much success.

I'm not rooted, I've not found a reliable guide on how to perform this. Can you please link me to one, if you have it?

Installation
The Magic Mask for Android

It's John's stuff and he maintained it pretty smooth.

In the end I did not do this. I've gotten a new phone, sorry.

F

I drive my rooted A41 since months.
If something is not broken - don't repair it - this is my rule and I don't have time to follow all new trends.
Besides - I have other, backup Galaxy, M12, which was rooted with help of this forum, too.

How to root A41?

Reading this forum to learn.
Everything I did was taken from here and while I don't have it till hands as rooting happened months ago surely all this is here, newer software & ROM hints including.

I have built a kernel if anyone wants it @F308
Also TWRP has been developed on Telegram and waiting for testing

Samsung noob looking for root advice

Hi there,
as I'm totally noob on Samsung and I don't know really nothing about their devices - my brother in law gave me his business S3 (GT-I9300) for his vacation with the order to get him the current rom flashed.
Now, as I'm a HTC fanboy this is really pain as I'm currently trying to figure out what is needed to flash a custom rom.
I know an HTC needs to be unlocked/ s-offed/ rooted - but what about a Samsung?
Heard somewhen some words like Kies and Odin and am trying now a noob proof tool named SkipSoft Toolkit
I really lost overview here because all specific Samsung relevant words and explanations are like Alien language to me....
If someone could just point me to the steps I'd follow like
1. Unlock with ____link____
2. Root with
3. Recovery
4. other steps
I'd really appreciate your help!!
an HTC fanboy
Go read the sticky thread in general forum.

I suppose development is halted

Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy J1 Prime Mini?

So I just inherited a J1 Prime Mini 2017 model (SM-J106B), previous owner finally decided he has had enough with very limiting storage and upgraded to a Xiaomi RedMi 8. Any chance of porting Android Go to this device? I'm willing to try doing it myself in my free time, but I have no idea where to start - while I have been messing with Windows Mobile images back in the days, I've lost touch of my inner programmer and I can't work out head or tail on how to start with custom Android images. Due to the sorry size of the storage (~8GB), I'd like a firmware without all the bloat and contains just the barebones Google Go stuff.
@blakegriplingph any advice?
Has Samsung released the source tarball to this device? Also, is there a TWRP for this?
There is a sub-section on XDA found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/galaxy-j1-mini I looked it has a TWRP version etc
Necroing because I need space on the device more than ever.

Well, I see that the thread has been moved to the right forum. I see that there's a TWRP for it, but how do I go from here? How do I get an image of the flash on the phone, replace the stuff, and put it back? Sorry for sounding like a noob but as I said I've lost touch with my inner programmer and am having trouble digesting all the info.

TWRP needs to be flashed onto your device using Odin. But you can find that also in this sub-forum.

This link is for SM-J105H is it compatible with SM-J106H ?

Rooting question please

Hello again guys right I have another question and I know its more than likely been answered a million times but I am truly a newbie my question: Rooting does it let you put the latest or recent android os on old android tablets? Like for example my archos 80 xs which in another thread which I need help on as Its going nuts atm! Which if you check my other thread you'll see what that's about. Anyway I look forward to your answers and thank you in advance .

Rooting it or not is not essential to that but you should need two main things in order to do this:
- Your device´s bootloader need to be unlockable or is unlocked by default or as in old times happened with some devices doesn´t matter if it is unlocked or not (prior to KitKat)
- And of course that it is a custom ROM available for your specific device.

S918N is possible rooting with out know security issues

Hello, I am a person who lives in South Korea and wants to root. Perhaps because of s918n's n, all community methods fail frequently. Even the installation of twrp has not been successful yet, but the note 9 that is playing at home succeeds in less than an hour after starting work..
I'm too beginner, so the current factor I figured out is that each region in the world has a different model, and as an identifier, n means South Korea, that is, it's impossible until twrp and rom suitable fo
r phones with n come out..
I am wondering if my analysis is correct. Oh, and currently, as far as I know, my model does not have a rooting method.. Is this correct?

Are you trying to root your phone or install a custom ROM?
I have failed all the methods on the s23ultra bulletin board. Please give me the address where I can download the twrp and rom files that have been verified to work on the current s918n..

I don't quite understand what you want (Sorry, language barrier), but to root your device follow Magisk's official Installation Instructions. I beleive there are currently no custom ROMs for your device because your device is so new. Let me know if you have any questions!

AnswerThank you so much, I finally succeeded. I'm still not sure what exactly happened, so I don't even know why it happened, but...
First of all, I succeeded in obtaining superuser privileges, and I am enjoying all the privileges after rooting, such as installing the Majisk module. First of all, I was determined, but in the end, the point that the banking app and the Korean multifinancial integration app called TOS are not open after rooting is more difficult and nerve-wracking than I thought... First of all, since I have entered the world of rooting, I will enjoy a little and identify the cause later...
Thank you so much for your interest and help

Nice! As for banking apps, there are plenty of threads here on XDA about getting those to work. Good luck!
