Otg problem on sony z5c - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys hope ur all doing well.
I have problem with my Sony z5c,when I try to connect the USB otg don't work but when I connect it in recovery it works perfectly. Any solutions!?

Hello,
Are you on stock Android? If not, which ROM or version are you on?
By the way if you are on a ROM, it would be better to reply to that thread.

After some (I don't know which) release of Android, you have to enable USB OTG from the quick settings before plugging in USB devices.Looks like this:

If it isn't showing up try finding it in the edit (pencil) button.

Sorry for the late reply
It could be the OTG connecter's problem, as they are often cheap and fragile.
Have you tried using it on another phone?
(Or used other OTG connecters on your phone?)
I'm on lineageOS 18.1, but 17.1 should work better.

Yes I used it in another phone and it works
And also I tried it in many custom Roms and still the same problem.

OK I'm running out of ideas
How about doing it in this order:
1. Plug your USB device onto the connector
2. Enable USB OTG from quick settings
After that, you should see a toast saying "Starting USB OTG Detection for 30000 milliseconds"
3. Plug in the USB OTG connector
That's what worked for me. For reference, the toast looks like this:

OK I will try

[Q] USB connection Problems

Hi.
I have an sgs 2 and when connecting it to my laptop it works fine and then my class fellow asked me to root his sgs 2 as well but upon connection to my laptop it says :
USB Device Not Recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistence in sorting this problem click this message.
Clicking that only shows a list of usb ports and nothing more.
I am 100% it is his sgs 2 that is faulty but just wanted to know if u guys have a solution to this problem

His SGS II spec on unrooted stock rom :
Android Version : 2.3.3
Baseband Version : I9100XXKE7
Kernel Version : 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555 [email protected] #2
Build Number GINGERBREAD.XWKF3
Try a different pc as a first. Why don't you go over to his place with a usb stick full of the stuff you need. I'm guessing his SGS2 works on his pc.

CROMBi-kk Rom usb otg adapter problems

Hi guys,
I just installed the CROMBi-kk Rom from the relative thread in my ASUS TF201:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773812
It's very fast and smooth...I confirm camera problems but this is minor problem for me: my camera is affected of "green screen" bug..
My problem is the USB OTG ADAPTER that I use to connect pen drive or other externals disks:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
With stock JB Rom the adapter above worked very well: I connected a 160Gb Hard Disk Drive without problems.
With this CROMBI-kk Rom the system not mount the external memory that connect with the adapter. In Settings-Memory I may see that the USB options are enabled (and when I pull out the adapter becames disabled) but "Install SD Card" command does nothing.
Is there a solution for this issue?
Thanks in advance
PS: I found others theads in this forum but not for my ASUS Prime
FYI
On Google Play I found an App to solve this issue...
It work well and with an helper is well integrated in the system
Look for "Usb otg" on the market
I have never had that particular problem, it had always recognised and auto-mounted any attached storage :/ could be a bad flash?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I just flashed Crombi-kk and I have this problem. On stock 4.1.1 OTG cable worked great. Now I it doesn't . Chainfire Stickmount didn't help either.
update1:
When I connect thumb drive to the dock it is recognized and is working, but with cable not anymore, even though the thumb drive light is blinking so it must be bug in Crombi-kk. Everything else is great.
update2:
In order for USB thumb drive to work, you cann use
1. Total Commander with USB Stick Plugin-TC., or
2. Nexus USB OTG File Manager.
The other USB OTG apps didn't work including Chainfire's Stickmount. Hope I helped someone.
I hope in the future Combi-kk version that USB OTG will be corrected including slow transfer speed. Speed transfer is maybe 2-3 times slower than on stock JB.

[Q] LG d686(MT6577) bricked. Any idea?

Well, KK has a few bugs on this device and I thought about downgrading to JB using LG Flash Tool. At 80% the USB cable just broke and the device just turned off (the battery was at 100%) and I wasn't able to go into Download mode again.
But, when I connect my phone to my pc (through a new USB cable), i can see my phone in Device Manager:
So I suppose the motherboard is not dead.
What can I do to revive it?
Could a JIG or this (I'm asking about this one as I don't have any factory ROM backup, and it will be hard to get one) work?

Update BT module to read BLE devices (Bluetooth Low Energy)

Hello community, I have a PX5 unit with and I need to connect with a BLE device (Bluetooth Low Energy), is there any way to update the module or connect via USB a dongle to use a BT module that can do it?
As far as I know there's no way to update BT module.

Any news on this topic?
I have had success with a Bluetooth dongle that is supported by the Linux kernel.

There is a special menu for factory settings. I will try to go through the process I went through and get back to you.

I can confirm my FYT type 116 (not MTCD) supports BT LE, successfully connects to my V1Gen2.

Usb debugging is under the developer settings. And this menu is greyed out when you open it while the device isn't connected to a pc. Your cable may be faulty, or it could be the drivers in your PC.
Hope that helped

Not the cable, it's tested with various cable and the regular original cable is near brand new and work well, I have had the motorola mobile drivers removed, repair, reinstalled a few times, the issue is something else and that's why I ask before pulling my hair off ...
@spikemcc
You have to enable "USB tethering" too.

Checked a little furter, seem a drivers issue or similar, I have the motorola drivers but maybe the device act like another, either pixel drivers or universal drivers might help ...
I seem motorola adb interface but an usb mtp device is still shown, probably the moto e6.
