JOB!-Make a Lollipop ROM for Galaxy KZoom SM-C115.. I Will Pay You! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I need 5.1 or higher to run in my Galaxy Kzoom (SM-C115) that is stuck with Kitkat 4.4.2 from lack of Samsung support. I also need to keep my Kzoom since in the 7 years since its release there is no other phone at any price that can take pictures as good as it does.
Unfortunate and lame (Come on manufacturers!)
I know that a Note Neo 3 has the same chipset: Exynos 5260 Hexa and can run higher versions so maybe porting one of those ROM's is the best approach.
Rooting has been worked out for Kzoom but no ROM 5.1 or higher:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-galaxy-k-zoom-katkernel-3-4-104-005.2798321/
This person pulled off a slim KitKat ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...custom-rom-for-samsung-galaxy-k-zoom.3172166/
Let me know if anyone with MAD Skills can pull this off as its beyond my abilities and I am willing to pay for a stable Lollipop ROM.
Thanks

Challenge accepted. PM me!

Seems I am in the same situation as Freedomfliyer1 - loving my Galaxy K zoom for its camera and hating Samsung for neglecting its updates ;-)
Since Android 4.4.2 stupidly does not enable the implemented TLS1.2 by default, many apps stopped working. And now my beloved offline navigation went to Lollipop as minimum requirement.
Thus I would love to get hold of a custom ROM based on a more recent Android version for the SM-C115 - and would put some money in a crowdfunding hat for it, or contribute as a beta tester, or in some other way....
Let me know what's neeed to jon the bandwagon.

|Idea| bring htc sense on SGS2

Hello,
I already heard so many time that the sense of HTC is the best Android interface, and it really does.
so... while Samsung released the source code of SGS2, please developers, can you bring the sense interface to SGS2 ? is it possible ?
not just the launcher, but whole the interface (with dialer, sms, e-mails, and etc.)
examples:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Moved to Q&A as a suggestion rather than development itself.
It will be nice to have the variety of another ROM on the SGSII but i can say for 110 percent that Sense will never be ported. This will be due to the high level of complexity getting samsung hardware to work within the sense rom. Even harder as Samsung doesn't release a full source code, it holds some things back like source for proprietary drivers...
Nexus S port = yes but not functional
samsung GS1 = yes but not functional
SGSII = No and will definitely never be functional.
TW4 is fantastic, im a big sense lover but i have now learned to let go of it and embrace TW.
The only thing we will get if anything is a special version of CM
And we didnt need screenshot examples, most of us know what sense is dude
JD
I really like this idea. I know its hard but it works. If the milestone with it's locked bootloader can run sense 2.0 then SGSII definitely can. it just needs the right developers.

Do you know another cell whit this specs to make a ROM (CM, MIUI, AOSP) port?
I have made a CWM 6.0.x and some Modified roms like a DEODEX, SG3 ROM (just the look), etc Based on STOCK ROM...
ZTE wonts release the kernel source code, stock rom and the tools to flash to work on it!
Do you know another cell whit this specs to make a ROM (CM, MIUI, AOSP) port? or can i make a build of another version whit the same kernel? The version of Kernel is "3.0.21"
I need the source code to make a tweaks because some applications close on their own I think it is, by the mismanagement of system RAM (we always have to use the task manager to close applications and leaves us free 184Mb maximum, otherwise, leave us free from 47 to 78Mb). thanks in advance...
Sorry for my bad english! i´m learning now! xD

[Request/Poll] KDE Plasma-Mobile ROM

With this thread, I like to give my (and maybe your) request and wish
for KDE plasma-mobile ROM, for our device!
I'm making this poll, to make visible if there's interest in this ROM. Means,
maybe find a willing dev to code it.
Note: This ROM is still new for phones, but KDE is in strong
development
About:
For those who tried Linux's desktop enviroment KDE,
they will probably know how awesome KDE is.
When I first read about it, I was truly fascinated (https://www.xda-developers.com/plasma-mobile-is-a-fully-open-source-smartphone-os-from-kde-e-v/)
You may check out their site, if you're curious: https://plasma-mobile.org/

- Would love to use it, KDE is awesome -
PS: I am no dev, and I know this will probably first be possible, when kernel sources are released next month.

Samsung announced a new feature with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, the ability to access Samsung Dex on a Windows or MacOS device. This in my opinion was a game changer as it could allow users to use the insane power of their Galaxy Note 10/Note 10+ devices on inexpensive hardware. Samsung released a client for MacOS and Windows but as usual left us ChromeOS/Linux users out in the cold. It turns out that there is a way to hack it together using nothing but open source tools (no Wine). Once I got this working on my Ubuntu Desktop, getting it to work on my Chromebook was trivial (not x64 only with Crostini). You dont even need to have your phone rooted.
What Works
-Keyboard/Mouse
-Shared Clipboard
-Drag and Drop of APK files to install them
What Does Not Work
-Audio does not route to the desktop
-Right Click does not work

Awesome endeavour
Your work is highly appreciated. I was planning on buying a note 10+ or 20 then discovered LoD was discontinued. Do you believe your method "could" work on the note 20? Really glad to see this as I was about to buy the note 9 and run it on pie(9). I use Linux primarily and my laptop just died. Having LoD would be awesome when this pandemic clears. Again much appreciation Keith.
Edit: after a reread I'm back to the note 9. Still no LoD.

Question S22+ OTA update to UI 5.1 !?

Did anyone here manually S22+ OTA update to UI 5.1 !?
PLEASE, Leave your comments. PROS & CONS after you have updated UI to 5.1

Nah, having it for some time already. Not a lot of improvements but regarding battery life, it is back in the line with One UI 4.1 maybe. 5.0 was pretty bad for me at least (Qualcomm version here). But with location enabled, the drain is still considerable. I am considering making a full wipe to see if it does solve the lags over the UI that it shows from time to time. The least important things (animations), improved. I'm still trying to understand the reason a company like Samsung (or even Google) put so much effort to a truly worthless features like animations. I really don't care about things flying around, I just need my applications running as quick as possible, preferably without redraws...
For reference, a factory reset helped to restore smoothness, battery and even small lags the phone was presenting occasionally
