Hello, can someone try a USB-C to HDMI adapter with Motorola Razr 2019 please ?
It should work because official specs on motorola.com/us/smartphones-razr/p shows it has a USB 3.0 version but still no proof if it works with USB-C to HDMI so can someone confirm it's working ? It would also be cool if it works so Motorola Razr 2019 could get an update with Motorola " Ready For " desktop mode

Well, I just tried with both Razr 2019 and Razr 5G, to no avail... Sorry, not working! I have tried with a cheap plain USB-c to HDMI adapter (bought on Aliexpress) that works fine with LG Wing/Velvet and with BB Key2.
Also tried with different USB-c Hubs that I have, doesn't work, or at least not out of the box like it did with the above mentionned phones. If you know of an app that I could use to try it out, let me know. Usually the apps that pretend to do it only win money with the adds they contain...

USB-C to HDMI support on smartphones requires 3 things :
1)A SOC that supports DisplayPort over USB-C, for example Qualcomm mentions it on their Snapdragon SOCs specs, not all smartphones support it like low-end Snapdragon 4xx or 2xx series but here Snapdragon 710 specs mention DisplayPort over USB-C support https://www.qualcomm.com/media/documents/files/snapdragon-710-product-brief.pdf
2)The smartphone must also have a USB-C with USB 3 version, USB-C to HDMI doesn't work on smartphones with USB 2 version, which can be ok on low-end smartphones but sometimes happens on "high-end flagship" smartphones like 1300$ xiaomi mi 11 ultra withUSB 2
3)HDMI out must be enabled by software in Android by the smartphone brand. It already happened that a smartphone had a SOC with HDMI support and USB 3 but HDMI disabled by software like on older Sony Xperia XZ1 or LG G7 and then enabled it with software update but still happening on pixel phones on which google doesn't want to enable HDMI out.
Another proof that USB-C to HDMI can work on Snapdragon 710 smartphone is that HTC U19e with Snapdragon 710 works with USB-C to HDMI adapters (USB-C 3.1 with DisplayPort mentioned on official specs here https://www.htc.com/hk-en/smartphones/htc-u19e-spec )
So back to Motorola Razr, the question is : does it really have a USB 3 port or is it only a USB 2 version ? If it's USB 2 then HDMI can't be enabled, but if it's USB 3 then it has been disabled by software by Motorola and could be enabled with software update (Android 11 update ?)
Do you have a USB 3 cable and a computer with USB 3 to transfer a big file like a recorded 4K video to check transfer speed of Motorola Razr please ? USB 2 transfer speed is around 30-40MB/s and USB 3 is at least 100MB/s. But most USB-C cables included in smartphones boxes are only USB 2, I think only HTC and LG include USB 3 cable in the box.

Thanks for all this updated information. Since my post above, I ordered 3in1 micro-usb/Lightning/USB c to HDMI adapter cable from Ali for a friend's iPhone that requires an app to work. I haven't tried with the RAZR yet but it works on my Realme 7 and on the surface duo, so I don't see a reason it shouldn't work on the RAZR. I don't have the 4G model anymore, but I will test it soon on the 5G model and will report it here.
I've read on the specs of many of those adapter cables that it would work with YouTube and personal files but wouldn't work with protected content like Netflix and so on, at least on iPhones. I will test this for andoid too.
So, I tried my adapter and it works with the downloadable app. As I mentioned, protected content (HDCP) doesn't work on the second screen. For example, Netflix app works, but when you want to play something the image stays on the phone only, black on the second screen. Why do they keep doing this? I'm paying for Netflix! YouTube working fine.
Well, all this to say that it's doable on the RAZR 5G for standard content.

You find the link with the QR code appearing on the screen when you connect the HDMI side to your TV/monitor.
I had to restart my phone and reconnect the cable after installing the app and you have to accept drongscreen app to start recording you screen (China spying..?), but beside this it's working fine. I have to find out if there's a way to have the sound through HDMI as it was coming out of my phone when I tried it. Drongscreen app sound level is appearing when I hit the volume buttons, but no sound through my HDMI.
Edit: but sound is incredible on the RAZR 5G mono speaker, loud and crisp!
Edit2: the RAZR will also be recharged through the cable, as you have to plug this cable in a USB power supplied plug.

I always want to use my flyer to connect with projector to support my presentation . Now I already have official Flyer hdmi connecter (with this cable you can use hdmi cable to connect with your HDTV see attachment for the picture)
and i found this cable on Ebay which is convert hdmi male to vga female (see another attachment for the picture)
Can i use this 2 cable together to connect with VGA male from the projecter?

I think you need more than a cable. You are having to convert from digital to analog. I use this http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Compon...XVBC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1317658374&sr=8-2 and have been able to connect my Acer Iconia W500 and my Archos 70 to my computer monitor through a KVM switch using this converter. There are some cheaper ones out there, but I know this one works (using it right now, in fact).
There are some unknowns in there: I don't know if the Flyer supports HDCP over HDMI. If that's the case, protected content probably won't play over the VGA adapter.
The bigger question is: does your projector have a DVI connector? If it does, you're best off using an HDMI-DVI cable.

Most of the projector in my meeting room never have DVI port It always have only vga(It be like this every meeting room in Thailand)
It sounds like it ought to work, but you really can't know until you try it. Assuming the adapters work individually, I don't see a reason this can't work. The only thing I'd be concerned about is trying to play copy-protected videos, but if you're just using it for PowerPoint type of stuff, I'm guessing this will work... but you really won't know until you try it.
I know that's not very helpful, but it sounds like not a lot of people are doing what you want to do.
If you do get that adapter, please let us know what happens. If nothing else, someone may be searching for an htc flyer vga adapter and stumble across this post. Letting the world know how this solution works will be a nice gift to the future.

When you connect the HTC cable your Flyer's speaker will not work so you need to use other speaker to connect with aux port on the HTC cable.

Any converters to Video Out Red/Yellow/White ?
Anybody tried connecting their Galaxy Mega 6.3 to HDTVs via MHL cable? The MHL cable for my original Note doesn't seem to work with the Mega and I was thinking maybe because it's MHL 1.0 and the Mega has MHL 2.0. Based on my internet search, MHL 2.0 needs 900mA while MHL 1.0 needs 500mA. Any thoughts? I'm using a rooted stock ROM.
EDIT: Upon further research I found out the MHL for galaxy phones from S3 onwards (Note 2, S4, Mega) uses an 11 pin MHL unlike the S2 and original Note that uses 5 pin MHL. You may buy a 5 pin to 11 pin adapter for older MHL adapters to work for newer phones.
Got the MHL cable today and did some testing. My results:
* Tried 720p MKV and 1080p MP4 and they played smoothly. Too smoothly actually as the frame rate was too high that they have the 'soap opera' effect. This was solved by adjusting the HDTV settings, I turned off high frame rate setting in advanced setting of our telly.
* Most games worked well except Need for Speed Most Wanted which had noticeable lag though it's still playable. I think this will run smoothly if I could change the telly setting to 720p rather than 1080p.
* There is no way you could adjust the output settings on the phone itself so you can only manipulate the output via your telly. Each TV brand will have different setting so results may vary.
I paid £4.75 for the cable from here (choose the green one) and it has the USB power supply cable and HDMI out connected to the adapter directly so you don't have to look for some.

Quality of output is superb
High graphic games may lag a bit but most will run smoothly
Just bring the cable anywhere to watch movies while traveling or at a friend's house
Well that explains why my adapter didn't work, I was also using an older one from my Note 1.

I did not do anything, just plugged in the adapter and connected the USB to a power source. The phone will start charging and then a message saying 'HDMI connected' will appear on the phone screen when you plug the adapter to the TV. Did you plug the USB for power? Are you switched on the right input source in the TV (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc)? Try wiggling the cable to see if it is loose.
Interesting... When I plug in the cable to the bottom of the phone and then plug the usb end of the cable into the wall adapter the phone does not charge.
I am running the rooted kernel, maybe that is broken in the kernel...

Im using the original kernel over the rooted kernel so I still have root. It should at least charge when the USB power cable is connected. Anyway, check if the MHL plug that goes into the phone has 11 pins, here's a photo comparison of my 2 MHL adapters/cables:

We are on the same boat. I have RocketFish's adapter, and it includes the 5pin to 11pin adaptor. I tried both 5pin and 11pin, but none worked. I am suspecting rooting as the problem. I remember a galaxy mega review page says some DRM protected content will not be mirrored onto TV. In the same logic of that controlling software, a rooted device will have nothing mirrored. And indeed, after unrooting my i527, the Setting->About Device->Status->Device Status still says "Custom".
I was all wrong. The 11pin with the RocketFish's adapter worked out great after I got a little frustrated and pushed a little harder on the plug. It "clicked" with a little force. I thought I broke something. I did not. It gets that extra push to make the proper contact. And voila, the screen is perfectly mirrored.
I used to have the original Galaxy Note and I mirrored it to HDMI TV quite a few times. It was utterly unsatisfying because any non-factory rom would not mirror.
Now Galaxy Mega is super.
On green adater. Does it charge mega faster than it consume power? And I still cant get the following - how the hell any adapter for mega's 11 pin microusb can work with different samsung custom s3's microusb socket at the same time? Then what? Mega's microusb is wrong too?
Finally my laptop smartphone docking station is finished! A lot of planning and work stuck in it! I have used an old Acer 17,3 "laptop for it. I removed the mainboard and all electronics from it and installed a good full HD panel. The panel is connected with an HDMI to EDP converter board with the smartphone. I installed some voltage transformers, a 2x3 Watt audio amplifier for the laptop speakers, a charging board, a 5v fan and an USB Hub. The smartphone is connected via USB C (mhl) cable and for sound there is an audio cable. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to run the original keyboard and the touchpad. That's why I installed an ultra flat Bluetooth keyboard with TouchPad.
A battery is not installed yet. This is the next thing I want to do.
So... I don't need a real computer any more!

Nice one man... it is very awesome.. i am sure you can still modify this and make more reliable by taking the mobile at front.. there are some other laptops like this from there you can get some design inspiration...

So I build in a 4s 2650mah lipo battery in it. It seems to work fine. The DC DC converters that I build in , can handle the 4s (14,8V) battery very well! Even phone charging is working?? I will upload a small video in the next few weeks.

I have an Atrix lapdock, it will load dex, but the screen resolution wont handle the output from the phone, it overloads it. At least thats what mine is doing. So instead I use it for my Raspberry pi for now.
How to "Gaming Dock" AKA:"Lapdock" (like motorola)
is 1 LCD inverter + USB(or ps2 to usb) pins into IO.
-> Screen = li-ion power cell to DC lcd inverter.
use any laptop shell. lcd will be DVI over HDMI

Anyway to clear you out any doubts today I have also tried an actual USB-C to HDMI cable to connect the Motorola One Zoom to a Monitor and again it worked perfectly so 100% there is HDMI over USB for our phone, yay!

I tried usb-c to hdmi (via Microsoft dongle) did not work.
I used a Dell docking station with USB C, it is made for laptops, but it worked without any problem. It outputs video to both plugged monitors at the same time, as well as sound. I don't know if you can use double monitors for anything else than mirroring in Android, or if in makes sense otherwise. Usb mouse and keyboard work, as well as fast charging.
But it works.
does it has a desktop mode like dex?emui?
Today I've tested usb-c connection to monitor.
Android 10 works very well. It's possible to split apps, basically do everything - screen will be mirrored to a monitor.
If they're speakers built-in in, you'll also hear sound from monitor. Watching videos from camera becomes even easier.

No it doesn't. It's just a screen mirroring, not a screen extension or a particular mode.
I tried a micro USB to HDMI (with a usb C adaptor) and didn't work
I just tested USB-C to HDMI hub and it works. To be exact its ABASK adapter. Also charging while child USBs are connected is working, so this makes a nice work station. I'm surprised why Lenovo isn't adverising this feature.
I wonder what are the requirements for the cable to make it work.
I hesitate to buy Motorola One Zoom, because official Motorola support told me by e-mail, that none of Motorola smartphones have HDMI-out compatibility. That seems odd, as it's not the only model that users confirmed to make it work. HDMI-out is the only requirement for a new smartphone for me.
Did you use standard USB-C>HDMI cable or some adapter / docking station that has female HDMI on the way?
Is there a list of smartphones with HDMI-out feature somewhere on XDA forums?
Sorry for double-post, but I wanted to update this thread with my experiences.
I finally bought Motorola Zoom and it works with HDMI-out. I used multi-port solution from Natec (has female HDMI and male USB-C).
I had some problems with disappearing screen on the monitor, that is connection was sometimes broken and then came back, again and again. After many tries of trial-and-error I found out that the source of my problem is LTE Internet. Everytime my phone started to use LTE, it disconnected active HDMI link. Switching Internet to 3G (or using airplane mode) solves the problem permanently.
I wanted to share it, if anyone happens to have the same issue in the future.
Has anyone tried the desktop mode on the V60, or at least confirm that it has one? I've seen demonstrations on the V50 when it got the Android 10 update and that would do me.

Thanks so much for that, I've asked in a few places and this is the first answer I've had. I guessed a desktop mode would have there but you never know.
The V60 looks like a good replacement for my Note9 later in the year. I just need to be able to buy one in the UK.

It's the same as the V50 & G8X, so a proper desktop mode but not as advanced as DeX. I have a NexDock 2 and use it with Samsung DeX and Huawei Easy Projection all the time. Looking at videos of LGs desktop mode it will do a reasonable job, which is all I need. Once Linux on DeX went away and Samsung dropped the 3.5mm headphone port I realised that I needed something different for my next device.
Can someone give a short how to?

(Though the magnetic port does support connecting to a computer with USB). You get a desktop, and can use the phone itself as a trackpad. If the hub has power in, you can keep the phone powered.
It is really too bad about the magnetic port, since I like to keep the phone in the dual case, and am afraid that too much in and out of the case will damage the UCR port of the phone...

So I have the same concern and never take mine out of the dual screen case. Could it be the cable used doesn't have all the pins needed internally and this may work? I can't see how it would work to a computer and not a TV.

never mind. USB-C is 22 active pins. That explains why the 12 pin magnetic connector doesn't work for HDMI.
