Can you flash Canadian Firmware (SM-F707W) on an ATT Carrier-branded Z Flip 5G (SM-F707U)? - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G Questions & Answers

My friend in Canada bought a US AT&T Model Z Flip 5G (which is SIM unlocked). His carrier is Telus and he's missing some Telus features.
Can he flash his Z Flip 5G with Telus (TLS) SM-F707W firmware or if needed flash the Unlocked (SM-F707U1) firmware then flash the Canadian Firmware onto this ATT Flip?

I am also looking for the answer. Last month I myself bought an AT&T Z Flip 5G from the USA (SM-F707U1). I want to flash the european firmware (SM-F707B) onto the phone. I am also willing to at least try doing it, but I won't do anything until i know the risks. What I DO know is that flashing to CSC to something else won't do any harm (like triggering knox or any kind of anti flash boobytrap by samsung). I hope someone knows anything!

My friend went to a local shop and they successfully flashed the Telus (sm-f707W) onto his Flip.
If I am reading the specs about the International Flip 5G models, they also have Snapdragon Processors so flashing sm-f707b firmware might then work. I'm not 100% sure so you better do some further research to be sure.

[Q] Which ROM's are compatible

So I bought a galaxy note for my mom, because she broke her other phone and her contract is up in a month and didn't want to extend it with Rogers. My question is that the person whom I bought it from had it 'unlocked' to work with all the cellular providers here in Canada. So I assume he flashed the AWS bands onto the phone. Leading up to my question, which rom should I flash onto the phone without risking that the AWS bands be "de-flashed". The phone currently has T-mobile ROM on it, so my natural intuition leads me to assume that I can flash T-mobile ROMs onto the phone no problem. But please enlighten me if weather I assume right or wrong.
P.S: The reason I want to flash any ROM onto the phone is that she is used to Vanilla Android and doesn't care for, in fact hates, Touchwiz.
ROMs won't affect the modem/radio unless you install a stock ROM with Odin.
And even if you change the modem/radio the SIM unlock sticks no matter what you throw at it.

sm-g9650 hong kong firmware to usa?

I've been reading up on firmware options on here but can't figure out a straight answer. I have the hong kong version of the s9 plus 256gb with the snapdragon chip. My question is can you use odin to flash USA firmware to it? Without getting a hard brick.
Like the fully unlocked firmware for us models that isn't tied to carriers. Thanks.

i have the same question...any answer?
I do not know, but it would be great if you would upload your firmware to https://androidfilehost.com
Also, would you please tell me if you are able to use the native call recording functionality that Samsung pushed out in May with your phone
Sorry for no punctuation my keyboard is screwed up for some reason
Thanks Very Much

Based on what I've reviewed this look to be the best option to do so once you confirm the firmware is compatible.

It is the unlocked model sold directly by LG in the USA, so it is non-carrier firmware.

Hi there,
You can try this website.
https://lg-firmwares.com/
or
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmq710ulm-firmwares/#tab=firmwares
since your phone is network unlocked I think it might be safe to reinstall the firmware.
However, if you have your doubts feel free to search it online or ask LG directly.
Sincerely

Thank you. I found out that they never released the KDZ for the factory unlocked phones (region USA). So, the only way to update my phone would be to flash carrier firmware, which, is kinda risky, since it would technically be a crossflash. I would likely lose certain features, such as Wi-Fi calling and/or VoLTE. One of the few firmwares that supports wi-fi calling is the T-Mobile firmware, but I wouldn't flash that firmware because it is different than the hardware of my phone (their model has 2 GB of RAM, mine has 3 GB of RAM, etc...

Hi there,
Yes, while I was researching it online I found two firmware for this phone for the US region. But anyways have you tried using a PC suite from LG to reinstall the firmware. Or have you tried going on to the recovery mode and just reset the whole device. Or better try to install a custom ROM, to be honest I think it might be okay if you flashed a Europe region firmware, but make sure you back up the current firmware. I flashed a Samsung phone which was used to be locked and then I unlocked it after that I flashed the carrier firmware and it didnt carrier locked my phone. But anyways try your best.

Flashing SM-G9650 (Brazil) into SM-G965U1 (US)?

Hi. I want to flash a Brazilian firmware (dual SIM) into my US hardware (single SIM). Both are Snapdragon. Reason is that I want to use the Brazilian Samsung Pay. Bough the phone in the US but I live in Brazil.
Can I flash THIS ROM without problems? Will it trigger Knox? Any loss in functionality?
Thank you all.

not possible. also, is there not a CSC for your area you can flash instead?
I don't know why these guys say it's not possible, maybe it isn't with your model. I also don't want to give you any bad ideas or anything, so use your own discretion & research.
My phone was unusable when I did this, so I had nothing to lose when I did this (It worked though).
I easily flashed my canadian note 8 with a us firmware using modified odin (must be same version bootloader).
It has warranty status 0x0 (aka, Knox is NOT tripped).
AGAIN, I'm not advising you try this with your model, unless you know what you're doing. I just want to make the information available to you.
Edit: I'm just waiting for someone to upload snapdragon beta 3 one ui 2.0. I'm going to try the same method to convert my Canadian s9+ to USA version.
Edit 2: I can confirm this method works on my Canadian s9+ aswell.

Yeah I don't think it'll work on mine, since it's a single sim phone, and the ROM I wanted was for a dual sim version. Unless of course the hardware is the same and the second SIM slot is present. I could try, but I don't want to risk it. Maybe later when Sammy stops updating the phone.

Unfortunately not. The SM-G965U1 is the US unlocked version. There are only CSCs for American carriers.

if its truly unlocked, then you should already have the U1 firmware on it. Get modded Odin and the U1 firmware, flash it in Odin and go from there. I never looked back after ditching the carrier junk on my phone
Sometime ago I did somethinh like that on my Arabian S7 Edge that I bough in Paraguai, it was Dual Sim model and i flashed ZTO CSC via Odin, and the phone was working well, but i'm not sure if the reverse works, and even the models were similar (F vs FD version) in your case u have 965U vs 9650, I would not take that risk, i thing that a korean or chinese model is 9650 too
look at this picture, US version has more bands so the modem could be different, you can try but you're risking your phone

yep, they are different phones that just so happen to use the same processor. Different bootloader, same chassis for whatever reason. Anyways, there have been threads talking about converting the 9650 to a 965u, but ive never seen anyone confirming that it indeed works. Big risk, but as long as one can get back to Odin mode, one should be good.

Question New S23 Ultra TMO Variant - Flash Non-Carrier Specific FW?

Hey guys,
Is there an easy way to flash the Non-Carrier specific firmware on this TMO S23 Ultra that's still locked since it's under a payment plan? I did it on an older VZW S21 and seem to remember the XAA version of the firmware meant just the Samsung release with no carrier specific apps, etc., but I can't find that to download at samfw.com. I don't want or need it unlocked per se as I'm staying with TMO but I just want to get rid of the TMO splash screen and some of the bloat. Oh and bring back just the straight spam protection from Samsung as this T-Mobile Spam Guard thing doesn't really work very well.
Do we know if that's possible yet this early with the S23 Ultra, or do we have to wait for a couple OTAs to hit first?
Thanks in advance for anybody's input or advice!
The phone is brand new. It normally takes a while for the firmware to come available. I have seen a thread with links for firmware but I don't remember what versions they were.
SM-S918U S23 ULTRA/918U1 UNITED STATES FIRMWARE FLASHING
Most of us already know how to flash firmware with Odin. Here, anyone can post available firmware for everyone to use as well as general discussion. U firmware can be flashed on a U1 device and U1 firmware can be flashed on a U device using Odin...
forum.xda-developers.com
It is possible and is thread linked in the post above is your best resource to get that done. Just be aware that flashing to the U1 firmware will not remove the SIM lock on your device and if you ever choose to have the SIM lock removed, you will need to be on the full TMB U firmware to do so.
