Question MIUI Global 12.0.5.0(RKGMIXM) update removed miui optimization option? - Redmi Note 10

I just updated to 12.0.5.0 on my redmi note 10 and i noticed theres no option to turn off miui optimization anymore. The changelog only mentioned security patch so im not sure if i ****ed up something or its part of the update

They removed it on purpose I think. I updated to 12.0.5 as well and it is gone from my phone.

what exactly does it do?

how can i get it back some site on xiaomi miui eu forums said this terminal command can help # setprop persist.sys.miui_optimization false but it hasent worked for me on mi10i miui 12.0.10 or something

If the DND or some miui stock apps not working probably anymore, then this update removing and turned off this option.
Anyway, it's a stable-beta build not stable release.

that means we can't turn off optimization anymore. we have to forget many applications

This is downright weird

in "Developer options", tap several times on "Reset to default values" item in "AUTOFILL" section, and
"Turn on MIUI optimization" switch will reappear.

In miui 12.0.2 not works..
I turn off miui optimization, just to try AOD setting to always on (not just 10 second) on MUI 12.0.1
But, when i update to 12.0.2, MUI optimization was gone, and i can't turn back AOD to standard (just 10 second)

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro - Full phone specifications
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Android smartphone. Announced Apr 2020. Features 6.67″ display, Snapdragon 720G chipset, 5020 mAh battery, 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM, Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
m.gsmarena.com
You have an IPS LCD screen, which consists of an backlight as a whole and a liquid crystal panel. When you use always on display, the whole backlight will be on and it will drain battery like crazy, so aod is disabled through software. Hence, long story short, your phone is non-capable of always on display at all.
As an alternative, you can set a completely dark photo(on Google) and set it as your lock screen wallpaper, and set screen rest time as thirty minutes/never, although it will still drain your battery, it will be emulating always on display.

Poco F1 Keyboard issue

Good day everyone.
Is anyone else having issues with the Poco F1 keyboard? On my unit, letters would randomly switch around no matter what keyboard I download and use (Gboard, Touchpal, Cheetah, Swiftkey, Go Keyboard, etc). I would disable prediction and remove other languages other than English but the issue remains. This started fresh out of the box.
It owuld look smoething liek htis when im tpying
I almost texted a few wrong numbers because the numbers would sometimes switch around too. Not sure if this is an Android issue or something that just happens to the Poco F1.
MIUI version 9.6.22.0 (OEJMIFD)
Any help is much appreciated!
This is a known issue. Vote and comment here for them to fix it: http://en.miui.com/thread-3746297-1-1.html
Thanks for the tip mate, I'll add in a comment and hope the devs provide a patch then :good:

I've just read that the devs prefer, if you send feedback via settings-user feedback. It sends more technical data for them to help them debug.
And for this particular problem they also require us to do the following:
You can help us by providing more info. Here's how you do this:
1. Go to Settings > About phone and tap "MIUI version" 7 times to turn on developer options.
2. Go to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > INPUT and turn on "Show taps Pointer location".
3. Start recording your screen with the Screen Recorder app.
4. Use the phone and wait the screen touch issue occurs.
5. Dial *#*#284#*#* to get the log.
6. Later you'll be able to find a bug report in Internal storage/MIUI/debug_log
7. Stop your screen recording.
8. Upload the screen recording and debug_log to Google Drive.
9. Send the links to us in the comments under this post.
We hope this will help us locate the issues you reported.

Haven't had this trouble on the MIUI 10 beta version 8.9.20...
Just be aware though, if you do go to the Global MIUI 10 beta you can't go back to the "Stable" MIUI 9 release (on unrooted phone)...

Hello ultramag69 - please confirm that you 100% HAD this issue on 9 stable prior to updating to 10 beta, and the update to 10 beta fixed it for you? I might consider trying out the beta rom in that case.

Don't bother. The beta ROM doesn't fix the issue nor does the latest stable release.
Use swift key keyboard and turn on floating option and drag it up, doesn't totally fixes the problem but a tempirary solution to help typing a little better, attaching screenshot for keyboard placement.

I wonder if this issue imght be a consequence of the "Ghost touches" issue reported on some Pocophones?
Again I have been lucky to not have this issue ...
If you do have it surely you could get a warranty fix...
Try downloading a multitouch test app off the app store to test this...

[UMIDIGI F1] Android P customizations, dark theme, gesture navigation

The Umidigi F1 is supposed to come with stock Android P; however, it seems that some features have been removed or disabled.
I can't find how to enable the Android P Dark Theme.
I can't figure out how to enable full screen gesture navigation or how to swap the back and recents buttons in the navbar.
I'm sure there are other things as well.
Can I use adb to enable those settings?
Is there some other way to re-enable these basic Android P features?
Swapping the back and recents buttons are in the Smart Assistant option in Settings. There you can also find the Umidigi version of navigation gestures.
As for Dark Theme, I have no idea, myself. The option's for sure not there by default.
I'm hopeful that someone will develop some custom roms for it, myself. The stock rom is not as smooth as I know vanilla Android is, and you can't turn on the battery % on the notification bar. Screen size is not adjustable, either.

I've randomly experienced a kind of dark mode in the notifications and volume control but can't consistently replicate it. It seems to be triggered by a dark wall paper. I have a dark wall paper and have dark volume control, but pull down notifications/menu are still white.
Download a cool little app called Powershade from the store. You can style your notifications/menu to whatever you like. You'll need to enable Powershade in Duraspeed to prevent it being stopped.
The stock Pie pill gesture isn't there, only 'slippy' gestures which constantly kick you back the home screen when typing (aka Sloppy gestures). This could easily be fixed by reducing the active area to one pixel, it currently sits over the space bar.
That, along with:
- Not supporting launchers
- Issues with photos being completely messed up (masses of low resolution duplicates)
- Constantly backward facing GPS indicator
- Unable to send images via whatsapp
- Power and earphones plugged in creates unbearable interference
...have made this phone unusable for me. Updates are too slow to depend on them and have so far just caused even more issues. Its such a shame, it could have been a great value for money phone, but turned out to be too good to be true.
I'm returning mine to Amazon. For a few pounds more I can get something I'm not constantly battling with.
Took this from an Umidigi forum, it works
:As for quickstep issue, all you guys have to do is to remove the package and it'll work flawlessly, even with custom launchers(I'm using Nova).
This is only temporarily until you factory reset OR OTA update the device.
1) Download minimal adb fastboot package from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754459552
2) Go to Settings > System > About Phone and tap on "build number" about 8 times. You should see a message saying: "You are a developer now"
3) Back to the previous menu and you should see now a new item called "Developer options", go there, find and enable "USB debugging".
4) Now connect the phone to the PC via USB and select "Transfer files" on the phone.
5) Open a command line and go to the directory you extracted the adb tools to.
6) Run the command "adb devices", your device should shown. If not, you need to check the drivers.
7) Run "adb shell"
8) Run "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.launcher3". It should show "success".
9) Reboot the device and you will be able to multitask until either factory reset OR update.
I just got two of these yesterday. Getting mine setup this morning. I have no problem with the phone charging through USB and playing music out my headphones- the audio is perfectly clear. I also installed whatsapp and had no problems sending a photo to a friend, and she got it. I see my gps on google maps just fine and it seems to work as intended. I've not tried any other launchers, yet, but I REALLY like this phone for the price point. Sad there isn't more activity on here from folks who have them.

That would be pretty nice to have, but I think phones that support DT2W have to have hardware support for sensing the taps while off like most LG and HTC phones have. I'm using Glimpse notifications to get the screen wake for notifications like every phone should already have stock Yes, even though it's not AMOLED, it's got a 5150 mah battery FFS! 5 seconds of screen on a few times a day won't cost anything noticeable. And it hasn't either for 2 weeks I've been using it.
I too wonder if they'll ever get any kind of theming going though. That would sure be nice!

Miui 12 update Redmi note 9s in US

Updated today to MIUI 12, for Redmi note 9s in US. Downloaded global ROM from XDA download miui 12 links. It said it is a recovery rom, but when I chose it as update package from system update, the update process went flawlessly. Gestures were buggy initially, but working well after reboot one more time after the update.

I agree. Battery life is good. So far major changes observed were control center and improved animations. Feels like IOS.
Cellular bug and chromecast issue still persist in MIUI 12
I also updated my device to MIUI 12
Unfortunately for me, I am still experiencing the same cellular network issue from MIUI 11 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-9-pro/help/cellular-problem-redmi-note-9s-t4114705
I think it is safe to assume that it is a permanent bug
Also the native cast function (not the built-in cast in youtube/netflix) is also still not working with chromecast in MiBox 3
I see they haven't improved the battery usage stats page, still totally pointless

Hi, please go to settings, display, notifications and control center, and change to new control center.
White bar at the bottom can be hidden by going to settings, full screen display and chosing to hide the full screen indicator.
Post MIUI 12 update
Full charge, battery life to 50%. Granted, this is pretty unintensive usage as I have been on wifi the full time. Usage is couple of hours of YouTube, general browsing, messaging.
I feel like battery life has definitely improved, feels a lot like when I first got the phone and the 'just cant kill the battery' feeling.

Question Dark Mode individual Apps list - MIUI 13/ Redmi Note 10

Why no apps appear in individual Apps list under dark Mode settings, even though dark Mode is forced by miui in those apps? Any solution for this? Anyone facing similar problem?

I can confirm - totally not working. Running MIUI 13 on Mi10T Lite. Totally regretting updating to the new version. MIUI 12 was faster, stable and working like a charm. MIUI 13 has tons of bugs.If i could, i would downgrade
Have you tried swiping up on parts of that screen? Around the "Individual apps" text
I upgraded my Mi 10 lite and have the same problem - no list of apps for dark mode - dang!
Hopefully it will be fixed soon xiaomi are aware of the issue.
However now at least when I talk into my phone for voice recognition typing it doesnt beep as loud as Big Ben
at start and end. In last version rom the beeping sound was controlled by ringtone volume so the only way to fixs it was to turn the ring volume down - meaning missed calls etc etc.
Same here, still no fix
me use miui eu 13 on mi10t pro also have this problem
I just recently got my RN10P Max with memeui 13.0.1 and also have the same bug
I had the same problem in my Redmi Note 7 Pro (Violet) with MIUI 12.5
You just have to ❝turn off Wi-Fi and Mobile Data❞ , then go to Settings>Display>More dark mode options. Now you can see your desired individual app based dark mode options.
this trick not work on redmi note 10 pro miui 13.0.3

Force Doze Mode Force your phone into doze mode to save battery. (root only)

STANDARD DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any damages caused to your phone. Use the mod at your own risk there is no warranty or guarantee.
Version 5.3
Force Doze Mode will force the phone to sleep 1 minute after the screen turns off. Google will want to change it back to the default. So Force Doze Mode will check every 30 seconds to see if Google changed it, and will change it back. Force Doze Mode will disable all motion sensors, so even if your phone is moving it will still be sleeping. Force Doze Mode will put your phone to sleep for a maximum of 24 hrs each time the screen turns off. The phone will wake up from doze 5 minutes with a multiplying factor of 2.0, then phone will go back to sleep after 1 to a max of 5 minutes, so you will get your email push notifications. After the 24 hrs are up the motion sensor will be enabled but the phone will sleep for another 24 hrs if not moved. In order for the script to work correct Magisk must be excluded from battery optimization, Force Doze Mode will automatically exclude Magisk.
Version 6.0
Force Doze Mode will force the phone to sleep 1 minute after the screen turns off. Google will want to change it back to the default. So Force Doze Mode will check every 30 seconds to see if Google changed it, and will change it back. Force Doze Mode will disable all motion sensors for 30 days, so even if your phone is moving it will still be sleeping. Force Doze Mode will put your phone to sleep for a maximum of 30 days each time the screen turns off. The phone will wake up from doze 1 hr with a multiplying factor of 2.0, then phone will go back to sleep after 1 to a max of 5 minutes, so you will get your email push notifications.
Theoretically version 6.0 should provide better sleep time because the phone is not waking up so much from doze into maintenance mode. But the down side is you may not get your email push notifications for one hr then two hr's and so on. Force Doze Mode will automatically exclude Magisk.
Benchmarks are on second post down below.
Requirements
Android Nougat or higher
With Google or without, like LineageOS or a DeGoogled phone.
Magisk 20.4 or higher
Update or Downgrade

Thanks, you can just flash in Magisk and reboot. If you wanted to you can always extract the service.sh script and place it in /data/adb/service.d/ folder and reboot, that would work also. That is if you have Magisk installed. If you don't have Magisk installed I am not sure were to place the script at.
Update: I forgot to let you know you need to make the service.sh file executable 755

Do you use both, Light Doze and Deep Doze, or like Tsungi "casual Light Doze or limbo Light Doze" ?
Perhaps you could show the part of your output of "dumpsys deviceidle" where to see the global settings.

I am only using Light doze because you can disable the motion detector in case the phone is moved. But for the most part light doze and deep doze are just about the same.

I edit "force-idle" "location_acuracy";
Until "min_time_to_alarm"is it YOUR script.
Works good so faar.
