Charging info on lockscreen - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Questions & Answers

Hey all. Does anyone know if its possible to show the time remaining to charge on the lockscreen? It only tells me if its warp charging and the percentage.

Charging Battery: Is the following normal?

Hi everyone,
I wanted to explain something about my phone's battery charging:
I have the phone down to 3% charge left and I plug it into the charger I have put
in a wall socket and let the juice flow into the phone.
The red light is solid BUT the battery icon on the Amaze 4G is showing as charging up= green bar fills up battery icon.
My question: Is this normal behavior for charging an almost dead battery?
BTW, The HTC rep I spoke to today said:
"You want to run the phone to next to zero battery life for the first few times and then charge it up."
Is this guy right?
Thanks and forgive the ignorance,

Yup. You want it to die completely and fully recharge it to calibrate the battery. You'll get the maximum life out of it basically.
The charging icon does that. It means it's charging lol. It's a fancy little animation. That's all.

Battery Indicator

Hi XDA'ers,
I have a small problem regarding for the battery indicator in the status bar.
When i was charging it i notice for 4hr still the indicator charging so i decided to
install a battery widget, and i saw that in the widget it is indicate full, but in the status bar indicator still charging.
And idea how i can solve this problem?
I'm using ICS 4.0.3 full version.
Maybe widget shows information wrong, try installing an app like setxperia by inteks and try to monitor battery life from it.both battery levels shown by phone settings & setxperia is same on my phone with stock ics
i do it already, actually i check my battery it says that battery is in good condition.
i notice also that when my battery is 5% i will charge it and it will appear in the battery widget that it will full charge within 4hrs and then after 4hours it is correct, but in the status bar still charging...
may be i made a mistake in flashing?
Try charging the phone switched off overnight, it will fully charge then take the case off remove the battery with the charger in wait for it to attempt to boot then disconnect the charge replace the battery and boot the phone when it boots you'll see the battery level has dropped connect the charger and let it finish fully chargeing.
All your readings should now match if not you may want to replace the battery

The problem you have is not a problem....

Thanks for this gregbradley. but this is not exactly my problem. it is in the indicator from the status bar. it indicates always charging continuously even the battery widget indicator is at full.
Are you sure it's indicating charging and not just being plugged in?

yes dude. when i connect the charger you will see the battery indicator moving in the status bar. but in the battery widget is already full. it's kinda weird isn't?
i found the solution! i will tell to everyone shortly i will just make a compile for this so that if someone have also this problem, well maybe this is also their answer.

it all begins in flashing....
Before this happens, im just looking for an full rom of ICS and i found one in NEO V so i use that one, then using the original kernel. after that i root the phone and make some mod. unfortunately i saw this problem which is the battery indicator.
The solution only is the kernel... hahaha!
I dont know exactly why because im not a hacker or programmer something like that. but i use the nightelf without zram. and all are working perfectly. indicators are 100% working and most of all. from 9am-10:30pm my battery is @ 70% without closing wifi and bluethooth....
maybe someone also have this experience so you can try this kernel...
thanks to night-elf for the kernel...

[Q] Overnight Charging

Is there anyway of stopping the screen lighting up when the battery is fully charged - It's a pain the ass while charging over night, all the room lights up.
And No I don't think turning the phone over is a solution.

why do u charge it overnight? It just needs to be charged for 2-3 hours only. Charging overnight will have negative effect on the battery.

Why?
I've been charging various devices overnight for as long as I care to remember and never had a problem. Modern chargers drop to a "trickle" charge when the device has reached capacity and so just maintain the full charge.

You are both right, however it can have a detrimental effect on the battery over a long period of time. Lithium-ion batteries don't really like to be fully charged, and when they are packing high voltages for long periods of time this can have a damaging effect on them. This is why "bump" charging can damage your battery if you do it often. It is actually much healthier to charge the battery on the go instead of one big overnight charge. Knowing this.... I still charge it overnight, because I simply don't care.

Does that stop the screen lighting up?
Your phone should turn off the screen after 10 seconds when you get fully charged message.

mipad 1 charge control?

How to control charging speed on mipad 1(mocha)?
I think the original charge speed setting of 9v 1.2a is not good for battery, it's too fast. I hope it can be slower.
And I also want to stop charge before full charging such as when it reaches 85%.
Is there any way ? Thanks.

How do I know if phone is fast charging?

My previous phone was saying on the lock screen "Fast charging" and I was able to see two lightnings on battery icon in a same time so I knew immediately when fast charging was engaged.
How is Nokia 7.1 ?
It will display rapid charging.
Well, I don't see rapid charging anywhere using original charger

My bad that's weird mines displays rapid changing under the fingerprint symbol on Lockscreen
Ok I got it as well, it doesn't say rapid charging all the time though. Thanks for the hint
is the original charger fast charger?
When you plug the charger it takes some time for the phone to detects if it is fast charging. Then it displays charging rapidly. And after a certain percent of battery charged it quit the rapid charging i thing (50-60% i think but i could be wrong). As of my knowledge of how lithium battery is charged this is usually done to prevent overcharging and popping the battery as a popcorn. I am not sure if this is exactly the case just an assumption based on my very few times observing the charging (im new with the phone). Never payed much of attention on that on my previous quick/fast/rapid or whatever charging phones.

Nokia 7.1 does not fast charge when screen is on.
