1) Video Playback issue... in all apps including Youtube, MX Player.. but not Kodi.
2) Open Youtube app, can't play any quality above 240, hangs at a frame then skips then repeats. It shows libStagefright metadata error in logcats in Youtube and other appications

For this specific video card, please add this command to init.sh in future versions to fix a nouveau bug related to thermal settings causing the screen to flickr badly making it useless, so that I, and other users having the same card, don't have to manually enter the command each time we boot Remix OS.

Hi, I have installed the Remix OS in my HP Pavilion dv4-2170us and everything worked fine untill I pressed the power button (in the OS menu) and selected the ''standby'' option...
That's when the system freezed (but the music still playing at the background), I tried pressing every button, but still nothing happened.. That's when I decided to force shutdown the laptop by holding the power button.
Then I turned it on again, and when the OS finished loading, the first I see is the volume gui showing and hidding over and over again, and the volume going up and down like crazy!... Since then I have been trying to fix this with some ''volume lock'' apps, but this thing keeps happening... The most annoying thing is that when the volume goes up or down, the mouse arrow dissapears, so I can't even do things in peace, I have to fight constantly with the invisible arrow, and the click also works whenever he wants... Please help me fix this!!
Is there a way to disable the volume hotkey or something, or just lock it, or hide that the volume is changing every time.. I don't know, something!!..
I will apreciate it very much.

1. I can not play HIT (Heroes of Incredible Tales)
2. I want to try Gaming toolkit so I install and open HIT, game update patch, intro run, HIT auto quit without any report.

I succesfuly Install Nova 3 on my laptop and there is no problem in single player game but whenver i play multiplayer game online (there is no problem in Local wifi game) Firstly game work like butter but after i get killed game stuck(not responding also stuck play store) it stuck at respawning( sometime it play smoothly 2 to 3 spawning). The only way out of this quit game from taskbar or force quit. and when i try to reopen this game only black screen appears, the other game which work perfectly now shows also black screen.Only Way out off this restart laptop(Clearing cache force stop not working )

as title suggest any way to disable game pad detection on some games.
Because my external keyboard detected as game pad and all on screen buttons gone.
So i cant map anything with mapper .

*This module also works for any another device with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset based, so feel free to test it on another device that have Magisk and recommend for your friends that want a better GPS experience and functionality.
The original gps.conf file present in any version of MIUI is very wrong, it has a lot of bad information and settings for the correct operation of the GPS and A-GPS. But on most Custom ROMs it was solved, however, I believe the changes I've made for a better optimization has the best results.
A little reflection tested and proven by myself: If you have a nice FW version with wrong gps.conf you won't have good results with the GPS, but if you have any FW version with gps.conf file correctly edited, maybe you might get better results.
Then we can finally conclude that, the Xiaomi Mi5 don't have any HW problem with GPS. What happens is that the firmware works in conjunction with the file.
There's not much difference with the default file included in LOS or other ROMs but let me explain about some of my relevant changes:
1 - Now basically the A-GPS data files are XTRA 3.0 files (It provides GPS, GLO and BDS assistance data) served over HTTPS with SSL and without # preceding the address lines while the default on MIUI ROMs was XTRA 2.0 (provides only GPS and GLO) served over HTTP without SSL, this allows an attacker to mount a MITM attack on the network level and modify the GPS assistance data while in transit.
2 - I switched the XTRA_VERSION_CHECK from 0 to 3 because it's obvious that xtra3grc.bin are XTRA 3.0 files.
3 - I included the address servers from pool.ntp.org as the main NTP server because it's global, the system will try finding the closest available servers for you
4 - I set SUPL_HOST google.com as default, before was qxwz.com on MIUI and this is an A-GPS server in China. Google server is more "Global" and can do the job very well.
5 - I updated the SUPL version from 2.0 to 3.0
6 - I changed the SUPL_MODE from 3 (so bad, this option doesn't even exist) to 0x2 (MSA), under normal circumstances, the MSA method is applicable to situation which the satellite signal is poor, to achieve a single positioning.
7 - Changed the value of GPS CAPABILITIES from 0x37 to 0x35 for correctly MSA mode functionality.
8 - Changed the LTE Positioning Profile Settings from 0 (RRLP) to 3 (LPP_User_Plane and LPP_Control_Plane)
9 - Changed the A-GLONASS Positioning Protocol from 0 to 0x4 (LLP Uplane)
The reason for the 8 and 9 changes is because SUPL 3.0 doesn't support RRC and RRLP anymore.
[Step By Step]
It's Magisk install-able, don't install it by TWRP but with Magisk instead!
1 - Go on Magisk > Modules > Click on "+" yellow button > Search and find this "optimizedgpsconf.zip" file (Now this one and only works fine for both Nougat and Oreo and also is correctly replacing the gps.conf file), long press on it and select open and after installed then reboot your device.
2 - Make sure your location settings is setup on mode "High accuracy"
3 - Skirt outdoors, can be in the yard of your house or anywhere else with a line of sight to the sky, download some Compass app on Google Play Store (I recommend the Compass Steel 3D) and then calibrate the compass.
4 - Stay in that outdoor place and download GPS Locker on Google Play Store and open the app and wait for the first time fix/lock. This is necessary and essential because the app will recognize some GPS satellites signals for the very first time.
*Note 1 - Location mode "Battery saving" is gone due to Google's location accuracy is now a binary setting.
*Note 2 - Consider using the GPS Locker app because it is much better than the GPS Test and GPS Data. You just need to open it once and wait for fix, then your gps signal is locked and when you close it the app keep awake running in the background. (press Cancel in "Unlock GPS on exit" message). GPS was made to work on outdoor places. For indoor/enclosed places such as inside of your house don't forget that, it will take a few minutes to fix. It drains more battery, but is required if you're an advanced user that use gps all the time.
Whenever I'm on the street I keep the GPS Locker and Cellular data open because I use Cerberus antitheft, so if I get mugged or if I lose my phone I can track him down and retrieve it.

Just did a diff with the gps.conf included in LOS 14.1; there are some minor differences (I suspect much less than when compared with MIUI) but will try it anyway to see if it makes a a difference. Just for the record, I don't have terrible GPS performance (it takes a while to lock, and accuracy could be better) but any improvement would be welcome.
Just tried your gps.conf; copied it into /system/etc using TWRP, rebooted, recalibrated compass and cleared and updated AGPS (I used the "GPS Test" app). I'm using 7.9.22 dev firmware and LineageOS 14.1, latest build (10.24).
The performance for me was about the same than with the default LineageOS gps.conf, both in accuracy and 3D Lock time; I suspect the change might be more spectacular for MIUI users, so I'd give it a try if I had severe GPS problems. As I told before, my GPS performance is not great, but not terrible either.

Yes, you're right. I made minor changes with the default file included in LOS.
Now basically the data files are served over HTTPS with SSL while the default was served over HTTP without SSL, this allows an attacker to mount a MITM attack on the network level and modify the GPS assistance data while in transit.
I switched the XTRA_VERSION_CHECK from 0 to 3 because it's obvious that xtra3grc.bin are XTRA 3.0 files.
And I includes the address pool.ntp.org as the main NTP server because it's global, the system will try finding the closest available servers for you. However, this is a dynamic IP server, so, a fixed time reference becomes more reliable, fast and secure. If your country have a NTP server with a static IP, please consider adding the address to the file.
But for now you can try to replace the lines to:
NTP_SERVER=cl.pool.ntp.org
NTP_SERVER_1=south-america.pool.ntp.org
NTP_SERVER_2=gpsntplpsc.duckdns.org
NTP_SERVER_3=time.izatcloud.net

Quick update: I was on 7.9.22 firmware before. Just to be sure, I flashed a newer FW (7.10.19) together with your gps.conf, and GPS lock times improved drastically! Accuracy also improved a good bit. Thanks a lot again!

Edit: flashed on Los and working fine, i've installed also gps locker with the autostart setting on the GPS turn on.

I have installed your gps.conf file on my Mi5 running AospExtended ROM with 7.10.12 FW.
It didn't change a single thing. With or without the mod I am seeing satellites but signal is almost null. Only in VERY open spaces I am able to fix GPS.
This is the situation indoor compared to a Galaxy A5 2016.
I also have changed FW to 7.10.19, no profit
If I get next a window, it gets enough signal strenght to fix, but is still considerably less than the Samsung.

Im in the same situation as yours
The thing i'll try to see if i can fix that is to revert back to 6.11.10 that is the last miui7 for mi5 (people says that GPS there is perfect)
if it'll wont work, then i'll try to clean flash with MiFlash some Stable MM roms and see

OK, I've got it installed EUI 6.5 rooted, but I can't seem to get Gapps installed for the life of me. using the script calls ADB, but I can't figure out how to enable debugging in my TV to allow that.. The new UI is just too different to locate what I need to do.
I take no credit for any of this work. I'm just a user who found the instructions vague and confusing. So once I figured out what I needed, I decided to document it here.
OK, I've gone through all the steps. Its kinda clunky but it works. I'll first warn you if Netflix is your thing, this probably isn't for you.
Netflix does work, but you're required to use the phone/tablet app from PUREApk. This evidently reduces the video quality quite a bit.
It was noticeable for me. Felt like I was watching somewhat artifacty 720p. To get there I had to enable settings for video quality to "HIGH" otherwise it showed up in SD which was way worse.
So if you enjoy 1080P or 4K netflix, this is not your upgrade. Also, if you don't wish to be forced to use keyboard/mouse. this is NOT your upgrade. If none of that matters to you, by all means feel free!
Step 1) First flash EUI 6 BIN FILE https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HBiM2WAllOQ43ONI7Jk3Gaey6P8FYDmo/view
To do that you must format a flashdrive using FAT32 and place the bin file on it with no other files or directories. Make sure the file is named LetvUpgrade938.bin .
I used my phone to format the flashdrive. Linux also works. I hear MAC users are gonna have a bad time, as it does something different with FAT32 making it go unnoticed.
Then place the flashdrive in the TOP USB port, completely turn off the TV. (unplugging TV helps)
Then point the remote on the TV and press buttons: SETTINGS, VOL +, VOL-, CH-, CH +, POWER. Pressing slowly, hold each button for 1-2 sec.
the TV should turn on in recovery mode and begin flashing the bin file. This take a while be patient.
You'll notice the TV comes on in chinese. If you need english use the google translate app and camera to convert chinese to english.
Get to home screen, press settings button, go to bottom System Settings, another menu will slide out, then General (3rd option down),
Next go to Time and settings (second option down), Go to right pane and 3rd/bottom option will be language. Select English.
Step 2) upgrade to 6.5 via offline update zip. DO NOT USE THE ROOTED BIN FILE YET, you'll have to start over if you do.
Download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rbov4oeMUh49rSF2hvUPvoTqRXGbThYS/view and place it on the FAT32 flashdrive.
After skipping through the tutorials and jazz, go to the apps pane (press right button a few times) and go to system update -> offline update -> choose 6.5 zip file.
Step 3) Flash 6.5 rooted bin file https://mega.nz/#!GIYCxQLB!V2jBnfH0K5-DzUUWy6_RegDlnhglxpWJhVa8yd5NVKE
Basically repeating step 1, but now with the 6.5 rooted bin file. Congrats, you're rooted.
Step 4) Download the GApps install tool. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DHViq0yJ_-RlV3LQ_BuQsxIKEk2ip7ZB
Be warned, this requires windows and isn't as straight forward as you'd hope. The app doesn't work until USB Debugging is enabled.
Also, you won't be doing this over USB. It'll be connecting ADB over Network. To do this you need to:
Go back to system setting where you changed language, but go down to saftey and enable "Application of Unknown Origin".
Now we need to sideload apps.
download https://apkpure.com/usb-debugging/com.bluedragonfly.developeroptions to the flash drive, and use the file manager to locate/install it.
download also https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687590[/url] ADBD.apk to the flash drive and use the file manager to locate/install it
Open the first app and enable USB Debugging. Then open the second app to enable insecure ADB.
Now the janky GApps batch script should work. You'll want to perform actions 1, 2, and 3.
Sadly, this will factory reset your TV once again, and you'll have to go through the setup, but its no big deal.
Now if you want extra packages I suggest sideloading the PUREApk app from https://apkpure.com/. this will help you install the Netflix mobile app.

on the system/lib64/hw . Then turn off the receiver. Restart the TV... You'll need to know how to use adb to push the file.

Step 3) you may have some issues with Google Play Services constantly crashing. Latest Google Play services needs a newer version of Google play services to be installed .

I have the LeEco 43 in bedroom....so frustrated, it is connected to the internet. I have cut the cable and using apps. Every time I turn the tv off...and then turn on later it will not upload the apps....I unplug the tv for a minute...then turn on and the apps load. I am not that tech savvy and would appreciate any help you might offer

OK, I've gone through all the steps. Its kinda clunky but it works. I'll first warn you if Netflix is your thing, this probably isn't for you.
Netflix does work, but you're required to use the phone/tablet app from PUREApk. This evidently reduces the video quality quite a bit.
It was noticeable for me. Felt like I was watching somewhat artifacty 720p. To get there I had to enable settings for video quality to "HIGH" otherwise it showed up in SD which was way worse.
So if you enjoy 1080P or 4K netflix, this is not your upgrade. Also, if you don't wish to be forced to use keyboard/mouse. this is NOT your upgrade. If none of that matters to you, by all means feel free!
Step 1) First flash EUI 6 BIN FILE https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HBiM2WAllOQ43ONI7Jk3Gaey6P8FYDmo/view
To do that you must format a flashdrive using FAT32 and place the bin file on it with no other files or directories. Make sure the file is named LetvUpgrade938.bin .
I used my phone to format the flashdrive. Linux also works. I hear MAC users are gonna have a bad time, as it does something different with FAT32 making it go unnoticed.
Then place the flashdrive in the TOP USB port, completely turn off the TV. (unplugging TV helps)
Then point the remote on the TV and press buttons: SETTINGS, VOL +, VOL-, CH-, CH +, POWER. Pressing slowly, hold each button for 1-2 sec.
the TV should turn on in recovery mode and begin flashing the bin file. This take a while be patient.
You'll notice the TV comes on in chinese. If you need english use the google translate app and camera to convert chinese to english.
Get to home screen, press settings button, go to bottom System Settings, another menu will slide out, then General (3rd option down),
Next go to Time and settings (second option down), Go to right pane and 3rd/bottom option will be language. Select English.
Step 2) upgrade to 6.5 via offline update zip. DO NOT USE THE ROOTED BIN FILE YET, you'll have to start over if you do.
Download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rbov4oeMUh49rSF2hvUPvoTqRXGbThYS/view and place it on the FAT32 flashdrive.
After skipping through the tutorials and jazz, go to the apps pane (press right button a few times) and go to system update -> offline update -> choose 6.5 zip file.
Step 3) Flash 6.5 rooted bin file https://mega.nz/#!GIYCxQLB!V2jBnfH0K5-DzUUWy6_RegDlnhglxpWJhVa8yd5NVKE
Basically repeating step 1, but now with the 6.5 rooted bin file. Congrats, you're rooted.
Step 4) Download the GApps install tool. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DHViq0yJ_-RlV3LQ_BuQsxIKEk2ip7ZB
Be warned, this requires windows and isn't as straight forward as you'd hope. The app doesn't work until USB Debugging is enabled.
Also, you won't be doing this over USB. It'll be connecting ADB over Network. To do this you need to:
Go back to system setting where you changed language, but go down to saftey and enable "Application of Unknown Origin".
Now we need to sideload apps.
download https://apkpure.com/usb-debugging/com.bluedragonfly.developeroptions to the flash drive, and use the file manager to locate/install it.
download also https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687590[/url] ADBD.apk to the flash drive and use the file manager to locate/install it
Open the first app and enable USB Debugging. Then open the second app to enable insecure ADB.
Now the janky GApps batch script should work. You'll want to perform actions 1, 2, and 3.
Sadly, this will factory reset your TV once again, and you'll have to go through the setup, but its no big deal.
Now if you want extra packages I suggest sideloading the PUREApk app from https://apkpure.com/. this will help you install the Netflix mobile app.

on the system/lib64/hw . Then turn off the receiver. Restart the TV... You'll need to know how to use adb to push the file.

I have done the US din and update after i accidentally moved my internal memory to a 3.1 drive. After doing the updates and google play store and services does its updates my screen flickers and a grey screen comes up with a black strip ontop. I have to press back on my remote until it comes up again. Many times back to back. I have to wipe my tv to get it to stop but after updates the same thing happens. Do you think you can help?

You don't have to unplug the tv, hold the power button down for like 4 seconds to fully power the tv down, that works for me.

No, doesn'r. Flash runs normally but when you turn on your phone and are at that point, where you try to activate your device by connecting to your Wifi, it just turns off. Result, you can't pass that point.

you mean during initial setup? device reboot itself or just Wi-Fi doesn't work?

No, but that's normal. At the very beginning I always have to connect to Wifi, then activate decice, then type in my Sim-Pin and then Data work as usual

2.1) See If Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Seem To Work And Try The Other Version If Not
3) Open The Update App And Choose Select, Choose Reboot To Recovery.zip & Chose Update & Update Again
4) You Will Be Inside Recovery Now, Choose Update From EXT, And Choose (USB/SD Depending What You Use)
5) Choose TWRP 3.3.1 .zip, This Will Boot Into TWRP, Slide The Screen To Accept (Mouse Needed) & Choose Install
6) Flash My Custom Mi Box Update Zip File By WiFi Chip If Possible, If You Don't Have One Of These Chips You Will Have To Try The Versions & See Or Use Ethernet
7) You Will Be Rebooted Automatically After Installation And Put Into The Stock Android Recovery
8) Choose "Wipe/Factory Data Reset" Option Here, And Then Once Done Choose Reboot
9) Wait Up To 5 Mins For Firmware To Boot For First Time & Proceed Through Initial Set Up
10) Open Settings & Navigate To "Apps", Then Choose "See All Apps" Then "Show System Apps" Find The App "Chromecast Android Shell" And DISABLE It (Wont Work Without Widevine Level1 & slows device down)
11 Disable "Movie Player" & Any Other Apps You Want To Hide

No Wifi as it stands as mine uses the AP6630 chip, I picked your 6212 variant hoping it might work but no dice.
Remote doesn't work either but that's to be expected. (MiBox works with BT Remote whereas the original Nexbox A95X with an IR one)
I own a Mi Box S as well, and the experience is very comparable.
Let me know if you need anything tested, I'll check LAN later in the day as well

Awesome Glad its Close To Stock, The Feel I'm Going For, To Try & Get Wi-Fi Working You Can Try Take Drivers From A Working 9.0 ROM (8.0 will probably work too as both use newer kernel 4.19), Look For Relevant Files in Vendor/Etc & Vendor/Lib, The Base Rom Has Root Already So You Can Edit Vendor Then Flash "Wi-Fi Works Already, This Should Leave Vendor Changes Intact And Just Flash The System, My IR Remote Works, You Could Use HDMI CEC & USB, I Tend To Use Ethernet myself. Use Powerline Ethernet Adapters
Great rom Aidan. It installed on my box, very cool user interface. WiFi didn't work though but I used my Tplink portable router to connect through Lan port. My WiFi chip type is realtek rtl8188f sort of. I hope you add it to your next release. The remote didn't work either I copied and pasted my remote.conf file on to vendor/etc folder still no luck. Do I need to change my remote.conf file to remote.tab file format? Or what should I do to make it work? I brought out all remote I have in my house and was testing them one by one funny enough I got one that can increase volume up and down, another button scroll up and another scroll down, power off and on and what was to be menu button worked as Google assistance button. I'm using that remote for now. Thanks for this great job. Ah! why should I forgot; I want to commend you the rom is Google certified by default. My Dstvnow app works.

Yhea Wi-Fi May Be An Issue For Alot Of people, Good News dstv wroks now, Some Wi-Fi Chips Don't Have Drivers For The New Amlogic Kernel On Android 8.0 & Newer, Some Wifi chips will probably never work, yhea with the remote is remote tab files & .kl files, for more info see this post https://forum.freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-support/amlogic-based-tv-players/s905x2/779350-x96max-4-64-adding-keys-to-the-remote-tab-files

I dont think so, android 4.4 indicates a chip older than s905x

I had a peep inside the box and can confirm that the wifi chip is as you say the AP6212a.

Unfortunatley not but the only change in v2 is the install method, everything else is pretty much the same as v1 so there is no major reason to upgrade from v1 (I assume you have v1 installed and not my older ATV v7.4)

Ahh tha is its Good to know it runs well on 1gb ram devices, I notaced on the qca version the file manager wouldn't launch (I use the ap6212a) I ended up disabling file manager & video player among others and downloaded a file browser from the play store, the one of my usb stick that worked in my android 7 wasnt recognised and needed the system to format to use, others formatted my my PC seem ok
FYI I am using the AP6212 and maybe more rom. Did install Kodi Leia (18.9) succesfully but had to install through google Play...
Also succeeded in flashing this snappy rom to my A95X Nexbox. A95X-B7N Not connected yet will update here later..
So even the Nexbox started up! .. But...
The original remote from the Nexbox did not work (The remote from the other box MXq did work though..pfff)
The Wifi does not work. Does not see any network. Switches itself off, will try the non 6212 rom.
Update: Tried the QCA rom on the Nexbox, wifi sees more networks but cannot connect... returns with message network xx not found.. I think these boxes have the realtek 8189 Wifi...
On the MXq installed another file explorer that works but it still does not see the USB.

hey progress, still limited with Wi-Fi fixes currently still learning hope to make more improvements in future versions, basically currently advice is try the 3 versions hopefully one works as i cant say that the changes made to get one chip to work didn't make another one work too (Should Probably Rename All 3 To XXXXX & Maybe Others) can then get a list started with information on version & Chip compatibility
as for the nexbox, on android 7 most firmware's would have no remote, and had a bug where the device wouldn't wake from standby mode and needed power cycled, i can suggest trying other android 9 roms and let me know if any fix any of the issues (Standby Bug, remote & wifi) be helpful in figuring out android 9 changes needed
