T-Mobile phone on AT&T Network

I am currently on AT&T and using a Galaxy Note II.
If I buy an LG V10 phone from T-Mobile, can I use it on AT&T or do I have to switch to T-Mobile?
It is possible to unlock it, but I have read that it is a bit of a hassle.

Need some advise on international phone

Okay so I plan on switching to T-Mobile Within a week from now and I want to get a new phone when I switch. I want to get the international version of the S9 Plus but I'm not sure how compatible it is with the T-Mobile network. Will the international version of the S9 Plus work with the T-Mobile network? And also I want it to be able to root the phone because I know the Snapdragon version of the S9 Plus has a locked bootloader. Any advice?

all USA model Galaxy phones with snapdragon processors have locked bootloaders. The F variant is what you want and yes, they work just fine on t-mobile. at&t too.
