LG K61 (mt6765) root? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I'm looking root options for this device.
Phone's bootloader is probably locked, since there is no fastboot mode.
I have patched boot.img made by magisk manager for A slot(don't know if need for B slot too?)And probably i need patched vbmeta which I don't have it.
I see there is in firmware kdz Efuse image too,I'm wonder if I format this partition in with special transsion tool, could it unlock bootloader?
Thanks forwardly for answers.

I'm pretty sure Fastboot works if you installl the matching Android USB Driver provided by LG on computer.

LOL. No fastboot, that is, no device in the device manager - means no fastboot mode ...
LG is a different kind of beast...

No, those drivers would help if there would be a fastboot mode.
But it just isn't available. It just boots to normal mode what ever you try, eh?
That is normal for most of the LG phones...

I'm looking for days on how to unlock bootloader on this phone, but the big problem is there is NO fastboot mode installed.
Is there anyway to workaround to unlock or to enable fastboot mode?
Is there any hidden method with buttons or something to enable bootloader?
This model chipset is mt6765 and what I have tried is I patched both boot.img from A and B slot and flashes back with Transsion program but aftet first start it triggers dm-verity.
I also tried formated Efuse,LAf_a and Laf_b and VBMeta partitions, flashed two boot.img patched and after that it is again trigger dm-verity,but HOW???

I'm having the same problem, i have an LG K51S, when i run
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
its reboots to the normal state, idk what to do, if you have any information please contact me.
Thanks

just subscribing to the thread, I need to root as well. No info yet found. I need root

Adb reboot fastboot and you'll be in fastbootd which removes oem commands but I've been working with the stylo6 and K51 which I have the ability to unlock the bootloaders and flash magisk patched boot.img successfully to gain root access.

I've got a k61 now, I've unlocked bootloader and rooted it, the unlock is done in the seccfg partition, I'm days away from sharing a working method to unlock without a paid tool

Hi, I have a LG K52 and they have the same chipset as LG K61,
I'm having trouble now trying to root and unlock it, can you please explain how you did ?
The only thing I've been able to so far is to get into fastboot and it's in a very very very dirty way, since adb reboot bootloader won't do the trick I had to type adb sideload radomimage.img to get into recovery menu and finally reach Fastboot, but nothing happens when I try fastboot oem unlock or fastboot flashing unlock or anything else

First the adb command is adb reboot fastboot and you can't unlock the bootloader in fastboot, the tool mtkclient from github will do that, i have a group that I sent you the link to in a message, there are instructions and support in there with now almost 200 members. We are helping unlock nearly every newer LG model and many others.

How to check bootloader unlock?

Dear all,
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year
I am new to oneplus x.
I rooted using this method i. e. Without PC.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/guide-root-oneplus-x-twrp-pc-t3251027
Then I use flashify (app from appstore) to flash TWRP.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ify&pcampaignid=APPU_1_7mN_VrODMMivmAXCwJnoDg
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-touch-recovery-t3252840
Then i flash blu_a Kernel.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/orig-development/kernel-t3250995
How can i check if my bootloader is unlocked? For other phones, my understanding is that as long as u can flash twrp, bootloader is unlocked.
I think you can only check that with the adb tools on your computer.

I thought the bootloader needed to be unlocked first before flashing a custom recovery??
At OP, when you flash TWRP via flasify, did you run into any problems??
Just curious really.

I have issues with drivers for my windows. Have Samsung s2, Asus Zenfone 2 all installed so i use the root without pc method. I suspect my bootloader is unlocked as i can flash twrp.
Any master has any idea?
Gosh... Seems like no one has the answer. Need to check via PC.
You have to go to setting / about phone / 7 times on build number to unlock dev options/
Then settings / dev options
5th line is OEM unlock.
How is yours?

I manually did that before all the process in my 1st post.
I think this is to allow u to unlock, not unlocking the bootloader per se.
with adb/PC ? isn't it ?
check status of bootloader
first go to fastboot mode
first power off the device than Hold Volume Up while Power on the phone
than in adb type: fastboot oem device-info
there it should be flagged as true
My opx was unlocked, installed twrp, now.... Back to stock ROM and bootloader now is locked and i cannot unlocked,
What can i do?
Thx

Based on my understanding, once unlocked, its difficult to lock back. If its lock now, i doubt you are unlocked at 1st place. Pleaae correct me if i am wrong.
Yes. You are wrong.
I have twrp, so i unlocked, but now, i do not know how is locked, because i didnt, and when i try fastboot oem unlock.... No errors but nothing happend.
When i flashed twrp and try cm 13 i flashed, from twrp, the stock zip, 2.1.3.x
And now say that is locked, and.... Never unlocked
PD. never rooted, but when i flashed yesterday CM 12.1, when i restarted my opx to system from recovery do not ask for root from twrp ¿?, when i flashed stock zip, asked me to root from twrp when i restart to system ¿?

[PLK-L01] Stuck on Honor screen

Pretty inexperienced with Andriod after taking the leap from IOS.
Rooted my honor 7 using Kingoroot everything worked fine then I let me phones battery die whilst at work came home to charge it up and now it's stuck in a boot loop/honor screen.
So far I have tried to let it automatically download the ROM using the EMUI recovery that fails completely.
I tried using HiSuite to recover that gets to 90% then gets stuck.
Finally I have tried every single honor 7 ROM i can find in an attempt to install via SD card every time I have it tells me version check fail.
Only had the phone couple of months anything I can do to recover it/repair?
Many thanks
Markus
did you unlock bootloader before rooting? you could use adb to flash stock rom....
next time dont follow youtube guides titled "how to root any android phone", on android theres way bigger change to bootloop or brick your device while messing with root, custom recovery and custom roms than on iOS. in this thread you will have all info beginner needs about honor 7 rooting, fixing and customizing: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/guide-beginners-how-to-root-update-fix-t3255452

Thanks for the reply and no I did not as I wasn't aware it needed to be done however in fastboot it says Phone Unlocked and the fastboot oem get-bootinfo also says (bootloader) unlocked.
Yet I am still unable to to flash as Command not allowed is appearing when I try.
I have tried following the guide to aquire my unlock password from the huawei site how ever it tells me my details i.e serial number and imei are incorrect.
Really appreciate the help , thank you

i think rooting app unlocked it wrong(caused bootloop) and messed something up....
Get the B380 update from Honor site and do a forced update ( if you've already been on B380).
It should work after that.

Tried that get a version check fail.
btw did you install xposed? it doesnt work on emui... just bootloops
What version are you current on? B380?
I assume that this KingoRoot thing messed up your SYSTEM Partition and thats why it bootloops. To fix this do this:
If you're on B380, go and get the B380 full update from the official Honor site and extract it so that you can see the UPDATE.APP file.
Then get the Huawei Update extractor from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Open it and extract the SYSTEM.img and the BOOT.img
If you are familiar with adb do this: (if not, ask what to do)
copy SYSTEM.img to your adb folder. Connect your phone in fastboot mode, and enter in cmd: "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
and after its done:
"fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img" (everything without quotation marks obviously)
It will take some time, be patient. If it's done just write: fastboot reboot
and lets hope it works for you !

Are you using phone with working sim, or without? Why I ask about sim? If not working sim card, then a lot phones will not give OEM unlock option, once it was for me with Sony phone, after I inserted sim needet to wait weak and only then OEM unlock option was accessable.
What are your phone full model ? Like, ane-lx1c432b166

ok, didnt give full ph0ne model, dont need, can go and find all you need yourself : from this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...om-official-emui-8-0-huawei-p20-lite-t3773999
7. dload package
In this site you can search for firmware by Huawei P20 Lite or directly by your device oem name (ANNE-L01, ANNE-L03, ANNE-L21, ANNE-L22, ANNE-L23, etc...
http://androidhost.ru/search.html
Download the firmware that match with your device and unzip.
Under folder Software you will found the folder dload, copy this folder to sdcard.
Under folder ReleaseDoc you will find a Software Upgrade Guideline.docx, read it.
User data will be wiped.
Update is done with stock recovery
If your Bootloader is currently unlocked at the end it will be changed to lock state.
i gues you have your bootloader code, you can even use older package, adn reset your phone using this dload method!!

Hallo again,
Ok so for the stock recovery you can download it on the thread by ciubi93, on this link https://mega.nz/#!SR9RzKST!dhXS0yC-p_SvWu-SYYLaop1aRFzSulLVrnSXCVVJiGI after you download this, download the fastboot adb tools - here's a link of the xda for that https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/ after you did that guide from xda, copy the stock recovery into that folder and then press shift+right click of your mouse on the folder and select "open powershell window here (in case of windows 10) or in case of windows 7 (open command prompt window here)" , if you have a power shell window then power off your device then press power ON + volume down and type on the window ".\fastboot flash recovery recovery_ramdisk.img ", after this you have your stock recovery successfully reset and you can now flash the official dload package, try it via power ON + Volume down + Volume up at the same time until the huawei logo disappears and then you release.
I really hope this helps cause I tried this a lot on mine.

Hi there
Yeah I forgot you have FRP locked....My bad....Anyway, can you tell me the current build you have and the one you want to install? Example: C17 8.0.0.140
Because if you try to install a different firmware which is not from your country you need to change your oem info first.

Also if you had it unlocked I assume you have the unlock code with you, in that case try this first:
Relock the bootloader using fastboot command "fastboot oem relock *codehere* " this will erase all DATA, it will do an hard reset, be sure to backup first!
After that, you can unlock the bootloader again via fastboot command "fastboot oem unlock *codehere*" and then it will unlock both bootloader and FRP

Hm, if I'm correct, you can't unlock bootloader, if frp are locked, frp will be unlocked, when you allow OEM unlock under developer options.
Only thing there can do, connect with mofuz ROM developer to help return to stock, otherwise our suggestions will not work, because all I know is for stock emui.
But yeah, with right phone build number he shulda be able to return to stock with no problem, so, does he know what was stock emui build he had before started to play with phone..??!!
And, can download all dload packages and try them all, no harm if it fails, but maybe some will reflash system as it should be

You can't unlock FRP when you have the booloader unlocked yes I know, but what I said is for him to relock first and then unlock it again Once he unlocks again the FRP will become unlocked, I looked into this thread for that and they also confirmed it works here's the proof if you have doughts quoting @clsA "FRP Lock occurs when the phone has a firmware mismatch and or oem unlocking is not on in developer options":

I locked and relocked the bootloader, now i can only access to the recovery or to the fastboot. I accidentally relocked the phone by using the hstool method of flashing a full firmware.
it does relock the phone and required me to unlock it again using the fastboot oem unlock code

That's interesting. So all your data was wiped when you used the hstool?
Someone else said flashing firmware via dload method also relocks the bootloader.
hmm i'm not sure.
I'll explain the whole situation.
I had just unlocked the bootloader and installed magisk.
after installing magisk, I installed a few modules, one of which made my phone bootloop.
I managed to get back into fastboot mode, use hstool to select my firmware (224) along with the patched hisuite from funkyhuawei.
after my phone recovered, it seems to have been completely reset and locked.
*edit*
I guess I should also add, I've never installed TWRP on this phone, only patched the recovery_ramdis.img for Magisk

Yes
ok just an update, while mucking around I accidentally softbricked my phone.
I used the external usb method (where you update using the code *#*#2846579#*#*) and it 100% relock the phone.
*edit*
and yes, the same code works to unlock it again. KEEP THE CODE SAFE!

You need an external usb-c drive with some firmware on it.
I initially used v187 from this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/how-to/firmware-update-187-brings-oem-unlock-t3897301
Since then I downloaded a v206 which works over USB but I cannot recall where I got it from.
Note that you will loose all user data since the phone will be fully wiped.
Also this method requires a phone that is working, as in able to boot and access the dialer and menus.
If I find out where I got the v206 I will post it here as well.
I should also add, maybe it might work with a memory card as well... But this method requires an external source for the firmware since it formats the entire phone
@ xeroxide Thx for your help.
I Try this at the weekend.
If you need to relock your bootloader, this is the process:
Using eRecovery, restore your phone to stock
Once done, boot into recovery and RESET your phone (if you dont, it will not allow you to lock the bootloader)
Boot into fastboot mode (Holding Vol-DOWN, plug in usb cable) , and run the command
fastboot oem relock < bootloader unlock code>
the phone should now ask you that it will wipe your device, confirm,
Enjoy locked phone!

Moto e7 bootloader & rooting difficulties

Hey everybody I recently bought a Moto e7. Went onto the official Motorola website and apparently you can't get the unlock code for the bootloader
On Google it says I can unlock the bootloader simply by doing "fastboot oem get_unlock_data" but it says
FAILED (remote : unknown command)
Other people are saying you don't need to unlock the bootloader to root using magisk. Tried and it says I need to unlock the bootloader.
So I tried doing "fastboot oem unlock" and several others. It just doesn't work.
Yes OEM unlocking is turned on and usb debugging is on. So can anyone help me?
I dont have experience with this phone or issue, but are other commands working? does ADB recognise the phone and can restart it into the bootloader? I know with my G8 power lite, ADB recognises it but once I go into fastboot it doesn't recognise it. Does fastboot recognise your device?
Please someone help to unlock bootloader Moto E7.
all commands are working except "fastboot oem get_unlock_data"
Did you make sure all the drivers are installed and updated?
Do not forget to have the programs and files necessary for the execution of commands.
try unlocking the bootloader with https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient

Do not try everything. I was an idiot and completely formatted my Moto E7 Power XT2097-6 device. That means I lost my certificate and IMEI number. I have my phone hard brick but I was able to fix it. Now I have a new stock firmware with Lenovo's "Rescue and Smart Assistant" tool and I can't make phone calls or connect to the internet because my certificate and IMEI are deleted! Everyone says that if you root you will lose your guarantee, but no one says that you will not be able to make phone calls or use the internet because the Imei number will be deleted. The exaggerated security of the new hardware in Smartphones was completely new to me because my last smartphone was a Samsung GT-S5360, which could be rooted without any problems. Pls accept the official factory moto stock rom and wait. Do not flash with the smartphone if no solution are available. Now i have a useless phone with a permanetly text print "carrier invalid" as GUI on the left corner.

Quick msg: Some people like me were able to successfully unlock the bootloader. The flashing of partitions was completed using userspace fastboot (fastbootd), accessible from stock recovery.

ok, ok, I'll try to detail how I got it:
I flashed the device stock ROM (using SP Flash Tool)
After flashing the stock ROM successfully, I used mtkclient to unlock the bootloader.
For some strange reason, I couldn't unlock it without rewriting the stock ROM first.

WARNING: For some strange reason, I lost my IMEI when I unlocked the bootloader.
