Can't upload files on apps - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Since some weeks, something happened on my phone, and I'm unable to upload files to apps. For example, if I want to upload a file on Chrome, or any other app like on Prisma, I press the upload button, it ask me to choose the file, I choose the file to be uploaded, and nothing happens... Like I've never chosen any file.
I've realised that, the new apps that I install, let me upload the files normally, just the old apps that I've installed before this strange think happened that doesn't let me upload nothing.
I've already tried to uninstall and reinstall those apps, but no chance. Is any way to fix this problem?
Thank you

Dowloaded/Attached files problem
Good morning everyone, I'm going crazy with a problem on my Mi 10. When I download a file from a browser, an app or a mail and I click on the notification (of ended dowload) it doesn't open the menu for selecting the app i want to open with but...

[Q] Problem with Dropbox app

When I try to download something off my public folder, I get a message saying: Sorry, can't connect to the network, please try again later.
However, when I upload something from my phone to Dropbox, it works just fine. I can see the image on my dropbox folder on my PC. I have tried deleting the dropbox folder from my SD card and reinstalling the app. No luck.
I'm currently running WW4.6, but this has been an issue with every ROM I have tried. Anyone else?
Is this you ?
http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=23081&replies=1#post-145275
If not, I'd follow that thread... I'm able to use Dropbox without any issues, so I can't help much. If it was happening just today, I'd say it was a glitch, but that's not the case for you.

Timescape.apk?

I foolishly deleted the timescape.apk from my phone as i dont use it and wanted to free up some memory. I believe some part of the OS is trying to open it still as I get an error message that it cant be found each time I reboot. I tried downloading a .apk from the web but it wouldnt install, so I assume there are different versions. Could someone please post the Timescape.apks (there are three related ones IIRC) so that I can reinstall please?
Maybe the widget is still on one of your home screens? I deleted mine and I have no issues.
No, I have never used it. Thats why I am a bit confused to be honest. It comes up every time I reboot, says something along the lines of "Timescape service failed to start".
Timescape
Someone in the forum said that you should leave the timescape provider service to not get that error message, and that helped me.
Hello,
You must also remove :
uWlopProvider.apk
SnsContactImageCacheProvider.apk
TimescapePluginManager.apk
TimescapeProvider.apkto completely uninstall Timescape.

That is ture and u confirm that by opening the astro file manger and go to the system app folder and u will see the sign for the timescape next to each APK responsable for the timescape
Thanks! All sorted now.

Att address book problem aab initializing lg phoenix

well i have seem many of threads talking about this problem so i have done many of the fixes but not result so i have and at&t lg phoenix lg p505 ther is and apk to solve this issue or reinstalling the stock OS if is reintalling pls tell me how to or the apk for this lg p505
I am unfamiliar with this issue, but I will try to understand and help the best I can. I currently am useing a Phoenix also.
First are you stock unrooted? If so I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling. This can be done thru settings, applications, management. Find app click on it, then should be an option to uninstall, then find app in market and reinstall.
If that doesn't work try factory reset. This will revert phone to the day you got it.
Let me know if you've done this already or if this helped.
Also let me know if your rooted or not, and stock rom or not?
If this helped please hit the thanks button.
first of all i am rooted and stock rom and the app tha came whit the phoenix is from at&t it calls at&t address book and i dont think that app can be found in android market and it isnt in the list of app in application-manage applications well the real thing is tha i unnistalled it couse firt i didnt know that app will affect the contct list sync couse it came from at&t i thought that was one of the paid at&t app lke the others it came and i unnintalled and nothing happens but this one affect the contacts list in other to show then went i open the contacts icon it said aab initializing and do nothing i am using another contact viewer like Contacts i guees if you are using a phoenix pls post the apk of your at&t address book perhaps that can solve the problem i dont know pls help whit that and thank for the rapid replay
Well bad news. All I have is a titanium backup of the app, no apk. Sorry.
I can try posting it. You would need to download titanium. No other contacts app you like? Cuz that would be the easiest way to go. The only other suggestion would be to flash roms, but that wont get att address book back.
soryy for the late bu can you pls post the apk in order to try it and thanks for all
Ill see what I can do. May take a bit.
welll i guess if your is the same Lg Phoenix than mine y guess y you post the app of at&t adressd book it will works on mine i guess the are to file the apk and other i think i about something framework i guesss
http://www.mediafire.com/?0n04gaj2tl7ow8l
here is the link to the files. there in one zip file. so extract to get three files.
dont do anything else.
download and install titanium backup on your phone.
open titanium and go to schedule(top right)
"edit" will let you choose what type of files to backup.
choose "backup all user apps + system data".
now the tricky part. i think this will be the easiest.
plug phone into comp and open window to view sdcard
you should see a folder named titanium back.
open it and scroll down and see if you have any file names like the ones bellow
com.smlds-431476af48a66e090084592d1457061b.apk
com.smlds-20111007-090024.properties
com.smlds-20111007-090024.tar
not sure if the numbers will be the same, but i hope you get the point.
cut and past these files from sdcard/titaniumbackup to comp. dont get them mixed up with the ones i gave you.
if you dont have these files in the backup folder on sdcard i dont think it should be a problem. just do next step
now cut and past the ones i gave you to sdcard/titaniumbackup
unplug from comp.
open titanium backup
click on backup/restore
scroll down and see if ATT ADDRESS BOOK is there.
if so tap it and then choose restore, then choose app and data.
hope this works, if you speek a differnent laguage i hope this translates ok.
let me know how it goes or if you need any more assistance.
well hello savagephoenix first of all sorry for the tipping my language is spanish but i perfectly read your post ..............
ok well i did all what you mentioned but it stay frezze in restoring in titanium backup i can see the at&t addresses app i clicked the restore bottom all what you mentioned but it stay in restoring window of the titanium app what can be doing? any idea?
yes, in titanium press menu button, preferences, scroll down till you see App processing mode, press that then change to" AUTO, Indirect(if you have problems)". then try restoring the app
nothing i download the titanium backup 4.7.1 for web and i pachted i did all what you said but still freeze in restoring app i clicked on restore the app+data and also restore app only and both gave the same issue
Try rebooting
try the last option in app processing mode.
Maybe go back to original setting.
I'm running out of ideas.lol
well sorry for the late respond thanks for all man but it still getting in the restoring app windows i had to use a titaniumback up app tha i downloaded from a web couse the one of the market is not the pro and the por i the one tha has App processing mode available any other idea? by the way do you know how to get the star battalion game for the phoenix?
One of the files was an apk. Don't know if it will work, but if you have a file explorer you could get to it and see if it installs. Don't know about the game.

[Q] Reinstall stock Google Calendar so I can sync again!

I had used the app System App Remover to remove some of the crapware that Sprint and Samsung bog down your phone with. In particular I use Google Calendar for my main calendar and I use it through Thunderbird too as well as Google's web app for calendar. I love that I can easily create events and wham they are right there on my phone too.
Now I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung puts it's own calendar app there and when you go into that calendar it wants you to set up a Samsung account, etc. I don't want a Samsung account and I'm quite happy staying with Google Calendar. So I tried to remove the Samsung portions of Calendar but leave the Google Calendar, etc. It is hard to tell which is which because they both simply use the name "Calendar". In any event I screwed up my Google Calendar on my Note 3.
Now this System app remover says it's safe or relatively safe and that it backs up any system app you remove in a "recycle bin" so you can reinstall it. So I go to the recycle bin and attempt to reinstall the Google calendar app I removed and it failed! I've talked to the developer and he's just perplexed and I'm out of a calendar on my phone!!!
I've tried reinstalling the Google Calendar app from the play store and while that succeeds I see no calendars being displayed. Here's some of the odd behavior I see:
When it starts it presents a month view with no events
Selecting Calendars to Display shows nothing
Selecting Calendars to Sync shows a blank page with Cancel and OK buttons but it says Loading forever!
Even though I have already signed into a Google account, if I try to add a Google account and supply my username and password it says that it had trouble contacting the Google Servers and to try again later. Of course later it does the same thing
If I go into my Settings and look at my Google account and what syncs I see no entry for Sync Calendar
If I try to make a new event I get a similar black screen saying Loading..., Cancel and Done buttons but it goes nowhere
It seems like the sync portion of Google Calendar/Account is broken or something is not signed properly. I've tried to find the appropriate CalendarSync.apk file and found a few, installed a few but the behavior described above remains the same.
HELP!
Is there a way to fix this without having to flash a rom? I used to play with installing rom's but now a days I try to just keep it stock - well I get additional apps but I try not to flash rom's and get unsupported. I have used towelroot to gain access to root. I use it because I also use Tasker and Secure Settings to try to automate some things and for some odd reason you cannot toggle GPS on and off until you get Secure Setting and root your phone! Stupid. And because I'm rooted System Update doesn't want to update me. I'm not sure if there's an OTA update for Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.2 but I would have thought that if there was say 4.4.3 available that update would fix my problem.
If I can't fix that problem could I flash a stock Sprint rom (where?) and then have all my apps come back from backup/restore (I recently did a factory reset and even this didn't fix it! And while many apps came back courtesy of Google, a number didn't and what is worse is that I lost a number of settings and configurations. I wouldn't want to have to do that again.
I'm almost at the point of saying screw it and getting back into custom ROMs. Sprint rarely updates us, Google doesn't update us so what's the point of staying stock kernel? Sprint tech droid are incompetent.
In any event if somebody can help that'd be cool (why such apps as Calendar and the like need to be backed into the ROM instead of just downloadable and installable like every other app is beyond me!)

Ok, chances are the Bloatware removal script removed more than just the GoogleCalendarSnycAdapter.apk. It probably removed most or all your Google Apps. First I would try and reinstall the calendar app from the recycle bin again, this time copy and paste it with some type of root manager app like Root Explorer. Make sure you put it in system/app and not system/priv-app. Check the permissions they should be rw-r--r-- after your have pasted the app. Then with the root manger app go to Delvik-Cache and delete it, now power down the device completely and reboot. It will take a minute as it rebuilds the Delvik-Cache.
Now in the event that the removal script took all the Google apps, here is a link for stock KK 4.4.2 NC5 .tar http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712205 ( Thanks micmars ) just follow the steps listed on his thread. Here is a link for Odin v 1.85 and Samsung drivers http://www.downloadodin.info/download-odin-1-85 version 1.85 always works the best for me.

Note that all other Google apps (at least the apps I use) work fine. Hangouts, Chrome, Chromeccast, GMail, Music, etc.
OK, I see two GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk files - one in /sdcard/Download that is 490.33 KB and one that is already in /system/app that is -rw-r--r-- but 618.06 KB. More is better right? I use ES File Explorer as a file manager and I am root. I could not find anything on my system with *delvik* in the name. Might it be something with *art* instead? Isn't Kit Katt on art now and not delvik? Wait I found it under /data. When you say "delete it" what is "it"? I ask because I see things like:
[email protected]@[email protected]
[email protected]@[email protected]
[email protected]@[email protected]
[email protected]@GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter(1)[email protected]
[email protected]@[email protected]
I think #4 was created when I accidentally downloaded GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk twice into /system/app. I've copied these 5 files to save them then removed #3 and #4, powered down and back up. Nothing different.
Next I copied all of /data/delvik to the sdcard and removed all of the files under /data/delvik, powered down and back up.This took considerably longer as the cache was rebuilt at startup. In fact it said Android is upgrading... After that it started apps and I was back up. But the calendar still exhibits the exact same behavior.
I think what needs to be reinstalled is probably the Calendar Storage because it seems to me whenever I try to add an event or a calendar it fails.
As for your links, why am I flashing my entire phone with a new rom and what will be happening to all of the apps and settings I currently have installed? I'm sorry but I really only want my Calendar app to come back. Everything else works. Last time when I did a factory reset in attempting to fix this many apps came back, but many didn't and lots of them had missing settings, etc. I really, really don't want to go through that again!
BTW why didn't I get an email when you responded...

First sorry for the slow response, was out of town helping my daughter move. Now the correct size for the GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk is 618.06KB. Here are copies of the files off my device which is a note 3 stock rooted 4.4.2 NC5.
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk https://mega.co.nz/#!tNxxxI5T!5xftzTM9ajyF45MeMR-qDS61ftYIhUIT3p2-hsBdN0w
SecCalendarProvider.apk https://mega.co.nz/#!0FIE0JgI!ENASoyihE3CLhECDDvBbRec1ROU5FxkAERQID7q7FPU
SecCalendarProvider.odex https://mega.co.nz/#!8MICFZSY!z23JLhKGgI9K5-1Lpe_GYszMlXmJyVaKsfaKd2vyCm8
Download to PC desktop, copy and paste to your sd card, then with your ES File manger copy the original files to a ext sd card or PC desktop. Now copy and paste the downloaded files, the adapter goes in system/app and the provider goes in system/priv-app. Once installed, check permissions rw-r--r-- then go to data/delvik-cache and delete the delvik-cache file, then go to cache/recovery and delete the last install and last log files. Then completely power down the device and reboot, delvik-cache will rebuild, then the new apks to will install.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Looks like I'm back up! No problem on the wait, I just wanted to keep the issue alive here.
Detailing what I did for the benefit of the next person I first downloaded your files and used PushBullet to push them to my phone. If you haven't heard of PushBullet then you should check it out! It's a nice way of pushing files, links, directions between your cell phone and your browser. I then:
. Put these files into /sdcard/Downloads/Calendar
. Moved /system/app/GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk -> /sdcard/Downloads/save
. Moved /system/priv-app/SecCalendarProvider.apk -> /sccard/Downloads/save
. I could not find a SecCalendarProvider.odex file under /system/priv-app! Perhaps that was the root of my problem.
. I copied /sdcard/Downloads/Calendar/GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk -> /system/app
. I copied /sdcard/Downloads/Calendar/SecCalendarProvider.apk -> /system/priv-app
. I copied /sdcard/Downloads/Calendar/SecCalendarProvider.odex -> /system/priv-app
. I looked at the perm bits of these files and when they were in /sdcard/Download/Calendar I could only see one of the 3 bit setting. It was set to 6 or rw-. However once I copied them to /system/app I could see the full set of perms and I changed them to 644.
. As for /data/delvik-cache, I didn't know exactly which file to delete but played it save and only deleted [email protected]@[email protected]. I figured if that was not the right think I could do it again but move all of the delvik-cache off of the phone like I did before. Turns out I didn't need to.
. I didn't bother (actually didn't see) the part about deleting the log files in the cache/recovery. Apparently I didn't need to.
Powered down the phone and then back up. Briefly saw a thing about updating and then I boot in. Started the Calendar and it didn't look good - it looked like it did before. But I went to the "Calendars to Display" and to my amazement it displayed many of my calendars! I went back and events were filling in as the background sync was taking place. I'M BACK!!!!
Thanks.

Hi, all. I followed all the instructions in this thread twice because I'm having the same issue and no luck. The "Calendars to Sync" is still spinning endless on the "Loading..." screen. I'm on stock Note 3 and have root. I even deleted all the files from /data/dalvik-cache. Any other suggestions? My issue is just the calendar sync as well. All the apk and other files mentioned here have been placed from the downloads that were provided. I'm totally dependent on my multiple calendars and dead in the water here.

I also was unable to follow this procedure with any success. I'm trying to get Google Calendar working again on my Sprint Galaxy S4 running 5.0.1 rooted stock. When I put seccalendarprovider in the app folder I get a crashy Calendar Storage (unusable). When I put it in a subfolder of priv-app it just says that Calendar Storage is disabled. When I just dump it straight into priv-app it's also crashy and unusable.

Unable to save contacts / sync contacts

Hey,
i am owner of an Cube iPlay10
It comes with stock Android 6.
No Contacts app pre Installed.
Tried to Install Google Contacts App (and other) but i cannot save any contact.
Eventough i have poeple added in my google account, its not syncing them to the tablet.
I have no system application called "contact storage" installed. Either there is no way to install it as an apk afterwards, or i need root!?!
And that will be another problem i guess...
Can you guys help me out?
I have done a video of it on YT for better understanding...
https://youtu.be/7z8CVLxNVBw
Sorry for bad english, i am not a native speaker.
Regards
Did you ever solve the issue? I also have an Iplay10 and I am facing the same problem...
Nope! Wanet to root it to store contacts storage.apk to /app and bricked it i guess!
You bricked it? During the rooting or afterwards when you moved contacts to the system app folder? Mind explaining more how it happened?
I rooted mine by using Magisk, it works fine but I'd really like to get contacts working...
I bricked it while using flash tool. Now its not responding. Only when pluged to the Computer, the PC recognizes a device. Thats all.
Try to find a apk called contacts storage in marshmallow version 6.0 and lut it in system/app folder. Reboot and it should install this apk. This app is missing in system apps so iplay cannot save your contacts.
If it still responds when plugged to computer, you should probably be able to reflash official rom and root it. I followed exactly the steps in that video to root mine:

The video creator has links for all the files, and even the official rom.
Would you happen to have a link to that contacts storage app? Did you hear this from someone else who has an Iplay10 and solved the issue?
i did it with help of this exact video.
smtg went wrong i guess
i have complete rom, preloader all the stuff with scatter file and everything checked in sp flash tool, but when i connect the phone, only a bing appears. SP Flash tool is showing no response. when i unplug the tablet, then sp brings the usual error.
i will oen up a new thread i guess.
try oneof these and tell me if it worked out for you.

(lookout for marshmallow 6)
i have heard it from german android forum, and wanted to do just like that, but then bricked!
I found 2 in that list that were marked as Marshmallow compatible, but both failed upon install. They seem to be signed by specific manufacturers like samsung, etc... and given that they gave an error message upon normal install, I was reluctant to stick them into the system app folder. I don't have a pc handy to reflash or recover so I'm a little paranoid about bootloops/bricks...
Please let me know if you recover your tablet from that brick.
