Mi unlock tool not detecting device - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I am trying to unlock the bootloader on my poco f1. But when I boot it into fast boot and connect the phone it shows "Press any button to turn off" and the unlock tool does not detect the device either. I have enabled USB debugging and OEM unlocking on, I had successfully signed into the mi account and the unlock tool. I tried to check adb devices, it didn't show on fast boot but did show when the device was booted normally. I also tried disabling the driver enforcement on my pc. None of these worked. Can somebody please help me with this

Are you using AMD Ryzen system or Intel? If you are using AMD Ryzen, check and read carefully the AMD Ryzen Fastboot Fix Guide from my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides thread.

Cant unlock Bootloader Period.

I have just got my phone today and have spent 5 hours trying to get to the point where the mi unlock software tells me to wait 72 hours.
I put my phone in fastboot mode and as soon as I connect it to the computer it disappears. Tried 5000 different ways to do this and even
wiped my pc with a clean install of windows but no matter what my phone is not recognized in the unlock tool. Please steer me in the right direction.
I'm sure I'm not the first person with this issue.
If I remember correctly, the unlock tool has an installable driver in the settings option. That should make the phone detectable in fastboot

You see the problem is within windows 10. I boot phone in fastboot mode
and my phone goes to a black screen and phone becomes unrecognized in windows.
Try using another computer, windows 7 if possible. Otherwise try using another usb cable

no extra usb c cable I will install windows 7 on spare hard drive and try it again will post findings when done. thanks
I was facing the same issue, go to Device manager in Windows 10. In the View tab enable show hidden devices, then you should see Android Phone on the top. Click the right arrow and uninstall drivers under Android phone, connect your phone again and the drivers should be installed.
Windows 10 should detect your device in Fastboot mode now onwards.

unlocker said proper driver installed but install screen stays greyed out. What a pain the butt this is.
If I recall it right you just have to go to the mi unlock site and apply, the unlock is bouund to the mi account.
Have you tried a different usb port? Heard pocophone is finicky on usb 3.0, maybe use a usb 2.0 port.
Try another USB port. It solved for me.

If you are using AMD RYZEN, it won't recognise the phone. Use Intel or other AMD machines.

All my Xiaomi phones, including Poco F1, are recognized in Windows 10, and I've unlocked them all in Windows 10. So it shouldn't be Windows.
Why is your phone going to a black screen when you boot in fastboot mode ?
I don't know how to solve your problem though. I reboot my phone into fastboot while not connected to the PC, and it surely will show the fastboot animation screen. Then I plug in the cable to the PC, and the unlock tool will start its work.
Maybe redownload the MI unlocker tool ... or create a new MI account and re-bind that account under developer options ...
unlocking boot loader will wipe all the data right?
That is correct. You need to wait 3 days when unlocking the bootloader. That is Xiaomi's waiting period for the Pocophone.
Better than Samsung's 7 day wait, and better than LG's way of having to request an unlock key.

Are you putting the phone in bootloader mode, connect it to the PC and then opening the Mi Unlocker? The correct sequence is open the Unlocker, put your phone in bootloader mode and then connect it to the PC. Try it.
If still not working, open the adb command window on your PC, put your phone in bootloader mode and connect it to the PC. Now type "fastboot devices" (without the quotation marks). You should get a serial number with alphabets and numerals. If you get it, it is confirmation that your drivers for bootloader are working. Try this and let us know the result.
Lastly, try another PC.
Solved used windows 7 with usb 2.0 ports.

Phone exits fastboot after launching MI Unlock Tools

Hi guys, I just got myself a Poco F1 and I was thinking about flashing it.
So first I have to unlock the bootloader right? I had OEM unlocking and USB debugging enabled, installed the USB driver and unlock tools and
was ready to unlock.
Booted my phone into fastboot and i noticed that every time i launch the unlocking tools I get kicked out of fastboot, and when i boot into
fastboot again, the PC stopped recognising my phone.
Anyone knows why this happens and what can i do to unlock my phone? I followed the steps closely and tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0 slots.
Any help is appreciated.
its seems like driver issues, you must install
1. miflasher (latest) it comes with qualcom drifers , and it prompts you to install
2. miui pc suite (recomended)
3. i also installed TOOL_ALL_IN_ONe ( https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1899786940962603435) because windows (7) wasn't recognizing my poco / (install only drivers,) ( xda ref https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3358711 )
4. I am assuming that you have passed the 72hours of waiting time and your miui is sim verified and your miui account has unlocking rights granted , if all are YES then proceed opening the UNLOCKER app and signin to the same MIUI Account and connect devce in FB mode and proceed!

I have same situation with my personal laptop(Intel i7 based). After 2-3 reboots (from starting Mi Unlock), it will not stay in fastboot even for 5 seconds even if I don't use Mi Unflock / Mi Flash, no matter what port (USB 2 or 3) I use. I used my office PC, & connected to USB 3 port (to test) to my surprise I could unlock the phone using Mi Unlock & use Mi Flash to flash MIUI 11 from fastboot even though I connected to a USB 3.0 port.
I just had the same issue and realised both my Ryzen machines were refusing to work. then i plugged into an old sony i3 laptop and voila it unlocked instantly - i would suggest using another machine entirely. preferably an Intel since this seems to be repeating issue.
Or get a USB 2 hub, go thru that and see if it works.

I doubt it would, especially If it doesn't / didn't work with onboard USB 2.0. In my case I could unlock & flash fastboot ROM using USB 3.0 port on my office desktop (i3 & gigabyte mobo) while I couldn't get it to keep it in fastboot mode for couple of seconds using USB 2.0 port on my laptop (i7 based & even after a clean windows 10 install). Better for him to try another Desktop / Laptop.
I fixed it with this https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/howto_driver-zip.2480396/

Try to check if your Fastboot drivers are installed correctly or not. Go to Device Manager in Your PC Properties and check whether your device is showing there in Fastboot mode or not? Only then you can unlock your bootloader and after unlocking you'll be able to proceed to Install and flash TWRP and Custom ROM's
No it doesn't!!! That's why i am searching for another way,

Try Installing this.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
Tried it but it doesn't work
You need to connect your phone to usb 2.0 ports on your pc for the Mi Unlock / Flash tool to detect your phone in fastboot mode. If you don't have a usb 2.0 port, a usb 2.0 hub will also work.
Hope this helped.
Tried 2.0 also but no luck.

It is normal, it happens some time, there is no other way to install twrp.

Have you tried the settings icons on top right corner? You will see an option "Click to install the drive". Try that? I was having the same issue yesterday, I did that check, unplug my phone and plug it back and it worked.

Hi All, I am facing the same problem, I have 2 poco F1 phones. One gets detected in pc and the other one doesn't but it still recognises usb pen drives using otg cable. I have tried multiple cables. It cannot be driver issue as one phone is detected and both are on miui 12.0.3, do you think it is usb port of this phone that has issues and if it is then how come the usb otg is detected. This problem started when I did a backup of the phone to unlock it.The developer option is enabled and usb debugging is on. The service center tried replacing the usb port and still I have the same issue. They said the motherboard of the phone could have problem, but how come the phone works if motherboard has issues. Can someone please help me.

Tried installing fastboot drivers. It still doesn't detect the poco F1. I feel it is something to do with phone settings as it recognises the other poco F1 but not the one that I want to unlock, I can't figure out. I have made sure developer option is enabled and usb debugging is on.but still cannot get the phone detected.
