Best case for Tab S7+? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

After months of wrangling with the IRS to get the 3rd stimulus payment that was owed to me, today i bought a Tab S7+ 512GB direct from Samsung. It's not due to arrive until the 4th of next month.
But since this is such an expensive beast, of course i'm already thinking about how to protect it from damage.
I prefer a hardshell case to prevent damage to the body. But protecting the screen is important too.
I'd like something that has the protection of a shell, but with something for the screen too, like a cover. I'm just not certain that a tempered glass protector will be enough to prevent scratches/cracks.
Unfortunately there isnt an Otterbox for the Tab S7+, only for the Tab S7. It's the 1st thing i looked for. Right now i'm considering the Spigen ToughArmor.
Either way, i'm looking for opinions. I've been wanting this tab for quite awhile now.
Thanks again!

I can say if you are looking for a super thin not get in the way case
then Samsung OEM case is absolutely top. I tried about 5 cases and nothing came close to comfort.
However it is really really thing

Well, what I'm really looking for is a hard shell case, but with a flip cover that closes over the screen. I would still have tempered glass on the screen, but i feel like a screen cover would provide additional protection. I'm not convinced that the official Samsung case will be tough enough.
I just picked up my Tab S7+ today. But I'm holding off on using it outside my apartment, until i at least have a case.

definitely agree on that. The Samsung case is not one for drops. It does function quite nice though
with an internal slot to hide the s-pen instead ofkeeping it in the outside

I just bought this hard outer shell case from Amazon:
TomToc EVA case
I was looking for something that would protect the screen when I'm not using it. With room for accessories like power brick, cables, bluetooth keyboard/earbuds. As soon as i saw it, i knew it was the one. There's another case like it on Amazon that's basically a clone, has nearly the same interior/exterior design, and costs less. However, some reviewers mentioned that it was lower quality, which explains the lower price.
This case is for 12.9" iPads, but the Tab S7+ was mentioned in the description. 1 person asked if it would work for our tab, answer was yes. And a reviewer said he was using it with our tab too. That was enough for me.
I wont really know how good this is until i get it, but i'm confident i made the right choice for my needs. I still plan to get an actual hardshell case for the tab itself, for when I'm using it outside this EVA case.
I have yet to buy a tempered glass screen protector, i need something that wont interfere with the fingerprint sensor.
Edit: i also just now bought the SupCase Unicorn Beetle Pro hardshell case. It was down to that, or the Spigen ToughArmor case. Amazon Prime says i should have it by the end of today. I'm going to try to make a quick trip to a shop this afternoon, to see if i can get a tempered glass screen protector installed. But i dont want it interfering with fingerprint sensor, and whatever i get must be compatible with a hard case.
I'm just really eager to get this beast fully protected, so i can use it away from home. I'll be using it foremost as a work device, but also for gaming.

So far best one I bought, but it is expensive.I have "tested " it on Adriatic Sea and it is quite durable. They said water proof but I didn't have courage to drawn it.But I forgot it on table outside while rain starts and nothing of water gets inside.Body is mixture of hard plastic and rubber all around also there is screen protector made in one piece with front. There are a 2 clamps which holds pen so impossible to detach it coincidently. It does have premium feel despite its robustness.Very solid and compact product

@tin2404: that's the case i bought. I already have it, but havent put it on the tab yet. It looks nice and durable though. I'd rather not put it on the tab just yet, it's best to put a screen protector on first.

I have glass protector on device and put it all together in that case without problem.

@tin2404: which screen protector do you use? Does the case interfere with it? Does your fingerprint sensor work when the protector is on? I cant even get it to work at all, despite multiple attempts. I can add a fingerprint, but cant use it to unlock. This is without a protector installed.

glass SP with this Unicorn Supcase, can it be done? did you remove the plastic SP that came with the case?

is it possible to remove the built in SP & put a glass SP instead? I'm worried the glass SP might come loose at the edges after installing the case

@adrian.jamit: Yes, you can use a glass protector with the SupCase. I haven't installed a glass protector yet, but i did remove the plastic protector that came with the case.

G1 Screen Protectors

There's plenty of time to have them handy for the arrival of your G1 -- they're not listed as being 'included' at the T-Mobile product page: http://www.boxwave.com/accessories/t-mo ... s_3283.htm
Anyone thats on ebay check out this link I've got some on the way from this seller will check back and let you know if any good. 3 screen protectors for 10.50 after shipping.

I have used Zagg (previously ShieldZone) screen protectors for a few years now, and i love them! Once applied they are on for as long as you want, and last forever. They do not scratch at all. Not sure how they will work with a touch-screen but I dont see it causing any issues.
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/t-mobile-g1-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I still have the original plastic on the screen that came with the device.
So glad that unlike other tmo phones it wasnt printed over with the #646# stuff.
For now, it'll work, bubbles and all.

Me too, and the bubbles flattened out overnight, so I forgot this morning whether I had removed that plastic protector or not. I ordered the Zagg invisible shield for my PSP to test it out, see if I like it. My two big concerns are if it will be too grippy (with a touchscreen I feel like my hand should slide more) and that it might distort the screen. I've had some cheap screen protectors and they totally draw attention to themselves, I have one on my psp right now that makes it look like the screen is oily or something.
BestSkinsEver is a good deal too:
http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-115/T-dsh-Mobile-G1-Skin/Detail
Worked well when I had it on my iphone.
I got the Invisible Shield from Zagg... it is a pain to put on... and I see small imperfections but they say it should go away after a few days. It came in many pieces. So I left the back one off as I don't see the point in protecting the pop off compartment.
Will tell you more later.

If you all decide to get the Zagg's, there is a banner (for me at least) on the top of the page... support your forums by clicking on it and purchasing that way. I am including the link here: http://pagead2.googlesyndication.co...ields.php&client=ca-pub-9796028472014192&nm=3
(not sure how the linking is set up so hope that works... perhaps a mod can clarify things.)

i'm using the original one it seems to work fine with no bubbles
I got the Zagg protector, like punkzanyj said, it's too grippy and there are imperfections that I don't think will go away.
I just ordered a different brand, I wouldn't recommend the Zagg product.
For those who don't want to go with InvisibleShield because it's full body or it requires a wet application, i'd recommend an Exim product. All their protectors are silicone static-cling rather than adhesive based, and the quality of the anti-scratch coating is pretty good. I've used the Exim protectors on three devices in the past (with no cases) and never had to replace them.
Webpage is here, but you can find the products easily with a search on eBay.
I couldn't put up with the bubbles so i bought a kit out the t-mobile shop which i had to cut to size...works nicely...
But now as i was going through the box found it comes with a free protector!!!
It's clear and might be hidden in the instruction book or something...remember it's see through so it's hard to find!! But trust me it's there...i've not used it though so dunno what the quality is like.
SPOC or SPUC?
Screen Cover separate than body or not?
I have noticed that several of the screen/body protectors for the G1 have either a screen protector as PART of the front body cover and some do not. I do feel a bit of a drop in elevation between the screen and the case around it does this make a difference? will the whole front cover style allow for a smoother transition from screen to edge? will the separate screen and body style have a catch at the connecting point?

Brando protector review
FYI, I ordered the anti-glare screen protector from Brando. It seems to be adhesive (not static), but is removable and re-applyable (and washable, which I've even verified).
It took a couple of attempts to get it on cleanly (it's easier when it's wet), but now that it's on it looks and works fine. Image quality is comparable with other anti-glare protectors I've seen. I got the anti-glare version mainly because I wanted a textured surface so my finger would move more smoothly across the screen, and it does make the screen a lot smoother to the touch.
It's not the cheapest one I've seen ($9, 1 per pack), but Brando has free shipping, so it does balance out a bit. (I also bought it at the same time as their 3-in-1 ExtUSB Headphone Adapter, which I do highly recommend)
PhantomSkinz Screen/Body Protector Review
I am not affiliated with PhantomSkinz in anyway, other than being a very satisfied customer.
I recently bought a T-Mobile G1 and started researching screen/body protection for it before receiving it. After reading many reviews and checking out other vendors of these products, I decided to go with PhantomSkinz after seeing pictures of a BlackBerry Storm they did.
They are located in Gilbert, AZ, so I was able to make an appointment and have it installed (for FREE!). If you are not local, you will get two sets of skins in case you damage one or mess up the install.
After 24 hours of drying, it looked absolutely perfect. There is absolutely no "orange peel" effect that people seem to get with vendors that use other films. The body coverage was suprisingly good, virtually every surface is covered (including media card door, USB port cover, etc.). I didn't expect individual pieces of film for the buttons, covers, etc.!
The only thing that bothers me a bit is that when the screen has large sections of light colors, you can barely see some lines in the film. I assume this is from the manufacturing process. At all other times, you cannot even tell the film has been applied.

Screen protectors Which one is best from these? (Which is like Hori)
Hey all, I know for handhelds, Hori screen protectors were the best, 100% no doubt. (Tho now you have to import em lol)
So which one would be like that for the G1? (Where it goes on super clean, easy and is high grade as Hori would be)
I saw:
Zagg

Definately this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458998. Mine arrived just before Christmas. Niiiice.

The Zaggs are nothing like Hori. They have a somewhat textured surface and also require liquid to apply. I think the closest to Horis (that have precut sizes for G1) are EXIMs. You can find their products resold on ebay.

[CASE] Platinum

I just bought a new case today and thought I would share it with everyone
Its called Platinum (Protetective Smartcase Holster)
It DOES NOT cover up the top mic, front facing side doesnt stick out like other cases (the number one thing i hate about my ballistics case from ATT) so when you need to touch the edge of the screen for what ever reason the case doesnt get in the way.
Its very nice to hold, and light, its thin and all around i think a good case, it no otterbox or ballistics case when it comes to protection, im fairly certain if i drop my phone in this case it can still incur damages, but if its a short fall it will hold up.
i think it makes it a little easier holding the phone with one hand as well.
but here are some pictures and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask
i bought it from bestbuy and its priced at $34.99 but i was lucky and got it for $24.99 because it was an "open item" so ask and see if they have one opened before buying full price

sorry for the picture quality i had to use an old ipod touch
Case
That doesn't look too bad. I bought some Rocketfish branded POS from Best Buy, and I had to take it back immediately because it fit so poorly. How solid are the materials on this case?
pretty good, it doesnt feel cheap when holding or looking at it. theres a felt lining to keep the phone from scratching and its two pieces so it wont stretch out after trying to fit your phone in and out of it. its a nice case, like i said its not an otterbox or other "elite" case but i love it
Bought this case today while I was in best buy based on the info here. I'm very picky about my cases. I want thin and light but decent protection. This case is perfect. My case search is over (I've tried about a dozen now). I don't like buying online because I like to see the case before I buy it. Highly recommend this case.

i havent had a problem with the beltclip, ive used it for a few days now and i have a physical job. ive brushed it up against things and nothing. maybe it was just defective or hit your case in just the right spot?
just bought case yesterday
i just bought this case yesterday from best buy and i love it so far. the ballistic case would have been cool if it had a holster to go with it. this case adds very little bulk to the phone and feels great. ive used a seidio case with my nexus s and i never had a problem with it. they sell u a combo deal with a zagg screen proctector on it for $45. you can register the zagg sheild and you phone online so if anything happens to your screen they replace or fix the phone. i wish i would have known about the open case i prob would have asked for one to get it cheaper.
Just so you know, this case is the Seidio Surface case (seidioonline.com) rebranded for Best(?) Buy.
They also have other color options and a two-layer case on their site.
I like the case, however there is a very small gap between where it joins where you can see the silver rim. On top of this, the bottom plate is slightly wider than the top one so there's a small snag whenever you glide your finger down the edge.
If you're not needing the holster, I recommend buying it online as you can save $10 or so (assuming you don't buy it directly from Seidio)

No it isn't, same type of case but not made my seido. The seido cases are a tad thinner and of higher quality. I have owned both and prefer the seido, however Best Buy has a fantastic warranty so if you have issues they will resolve it promptly.
Just got this case yesterday and I'm having a hard time removing it. Is there a special trick to get this case off? Or is it just me. I tried what the instructions said, but it won't come off.

Suggestions for Glass Screen protector

So I ordered the ones from XtremeGuard Spartan Tempered Glass
http://www.xtremeguard.com/LG-G3-Screen-Protectors-p/lg-g3-screen-protector.htm#.U8CjKOXD-3g
And used the discount code and got them for 6.00 a piece. Havent got them yet but people are reporting that they are aligned horribly and requesting refunds.
So now I need another brand. I've always used spigen for my regular screen protectors. Never tired a glass one.. But there's plenty of brands out there..
Anyone make any recommendations based on the g3 or previous phones models that they used an glass protector on?
Ones I've looked at are:

I am using the one in your first link.
The Spigen GLAS.tR NANO SLIM , a bit pricy but I've used them on my last couple phones and love them.
I think Spigen glass products is so pricy, but, it's worth it I think!
I just ordered the Spigen. I went with it because it was so thin with rounded corners, it completely covers the top, and because I could get it with prime (I want to slap it on before I touch the new screen to ensure no smudges). Most don't seem to cover the top and that leaves an area for a crack to start, and probably doesn't look as nice.
I had planned on ordering the second link one which seemed better while cheaper, but it's not available now.
I stopped using screen protectors on my last 2 phones (Nexus 4 and Nexus 5). However, my Nexus 5's screen developed a couple of pretty nasty scratches over the past month or two. In an effort to not subject my G3 to the same fate, I did some research and went with the recommended Spigen GLAS.tR NANO SLIM Tempered Glass protector. It was definitely pricey but had excellent reviews and I was hoping to keep the feel of the stock screen, which these glass protectors supposedly mimic.
My phone finally arrived today so I immediately installed the Spigen protector before I even turned the phone on. It was significantly easier than what I remember from standard screen protectors and came out absolutely flawlessly. I was never able to accomplish this with regular screen protectors so I was very happy that the ease of install lived up to the hype. Overall the screen protector feels like the bare screen and you'd never know it was there, especially once the TPU case was installed.
While it is pricey, I imagine it will last quite a while, so it's worth it to me. I'd definitely recommend it.
**Ignore the thing that looks like a bubble near the bottom left of the screen, it was a piece of dust that wiped right off.

Fits very nice and is thin, but it seems to pick up stubborn smudges rather easily. This is the first glass screen protector I bought so I don't know what to expect.
I just ordered this.

I went with some glass from eBay, it was a doodle to fit and cost £8. Infinitely better than the screen protector that came from spigen (not glass), that seemed to smudge and was took hard to fit (bubbles)
Go with #3. Its the best for the money hands down. Trust me, you will not be disappointed and probably buy an extra after you get it.
Beware.. if you buy any of them with a big cut out rather than a separate cut out for the camera and speaker you will get a lot of dust collecting there. At least my nillkin one does anyway, apart from that its great.
Got the Spigen, seems be be the thinnest at .23mm
Thinking about upgrading to a glass screen protector. Has anyone had problems with trapping a rogue dust/fibre whilst applying? With traditional PET screen protectors its ok to lift up and get a bit of sticky tape to remove the dust/fibre that was trapped.
Thanks!
Wow that glass is fancy. I've never had issues with my usual clear stick on $5 3-packs from any brand out there on Amazon. I just change them out after 6mo to a year for a fresh look.
Actually, I'm big fan of Spigen......So I bought the case and glass screen protector for my G3.
I didn't apply the screen protector on my phone yet because I didn't get my phone.
But. I'll upload new updated comment after applying that.
I can't wait for my G3.
I got the SGP Nano glass and it works great. Just don't be a dumbass like me and try to wipe the sticky side when you mess up.

Yes. The only cut out is the speaker. Everything else is covered. It is crystal clear and I have seen no difference in before and after pics using it. Hell, if I didn't put it on I'd be hard pressed to tell it's there. 100% satisfied.

It's $15 with Prime and has a lifetime warranty: The purchase of any Skinomi product including TechSkin and DesignSkin includes a lifetime replacement guarantee. Yes, you read it right! We are confident that Skinomi products are the toughest and the only film protector you'll ever need. If ever a properly installed TechSkin is scratched, torn, or damaged, we'll replace it free of charge.
The last glass one I purchased for my X ended up breaking from my keys and I had to replace it so I figure the warranty might come in handy. Not many reviews but they were both positive. Arrives Saturday and I I'll try to come back here and update with my thoughts.

Naked Edge

I was just wandering is there any people out there using your S6 Edge completely naked(without screen protectors and/or cases)? What kind of lifestyle do you have and how's the phone? I plan to use it completely naked.
Thanks.
I would also do..but ATM I use a very small plastic case for the back...nothing on front..no scratches..

Mine got scratch... in my porch with some coins.. my mistake let it together... my edge only 3 weeks used... feeling down rite now.. i think gorilla 4 is tough enough. ....

I hate phone cases normally but I find the edge really uncomfortable in the hand and far too slippery! Ended up getting a Spigen hybrid crystal and it's actually quite nice. It doesn't make the phone look too tacky and it's slightly rubberised - saved me from dropping it a few times already!
I just use the full body cover. I was using a case, but once you cover up the front and back and sides, the grip of this thing is more then enough. I hate cases and I like the feel of the phone without it. So, that's just how I roll. I'm glad I put the protector on though, cause I've already seen scratches on the protector and a few dings/dents. Woudl rather replace the film for $10, then replace the damn phone.
Almost naked but I use a Skin on the back. I travel with my phone and am always on the move.

I always use the phones fully naked, and they all get scratches. My S6 Edge already have some scratches on the back, i just don't mind. I rather have some little scratches than have to use a screen protector, i hate the feeling of it.
About my life style, i do a lot of sports and stuff and the phone goes to bags, pockets, gets water sprays, a little rain, dirt , dust .. for my iphone i do use sometimes a Lifeprof case for extreme sports, for android phones they usually go naked because i change the device a lot so i don't buy cases for them. I never cracked a screen thought .
I'm using it naked as well. Important to make sure you always have a dedicated pocket for it.
I'm an indoor engineer, so the phone doesn't have the risk of dropping (unless I have butter fingers, but i don't). In my lab if it's not in my pocket, I put it on a non-slip mat.
I also have a Spigen slim armor which I use when I'm out cycling, misc sports or with the kids. 4 weeks now. Flawless
Mines naked. I figure I'd just be careful instead of compromising and not experiencing the phone as intended.
I'm looking into cases anyway though because I'm getting scratches on the bottom of the back. It hasn't even been a month so I could only imagine what it'll be in two years.

Thank you all for your inputs. I decided to go with the Nilkin TPU case. It adds grip but looks like nothing is actually there. It is easy to remove when I like to use the phone naked. I have to wait for the Curved Crystal Screen Protector from Spigen to be available here until then I have to be careful. Sometimes I even put the plastic wrap from the box when I put it in a bag just to be sure. Lol.
No case, no front screen protector, just a back screen protector and a cotton pouch. I used this combo with my other glass phones an it worked out perfectly since I don't drop my phones

I got the S6 edge after shattering my totally naked Note 4. I was a bit crushed, especially since I got that 8 months ago after doing the same with the naked Note 3. So I vowed I would use protection this time. I bought the skinomi screen protector and the Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my S6E. I absolutely hated the skinomi. It made the screen feel and look disgusting. I'd rather break my screen and not have a phone than use that nasty thing. The Spigen case is ok, but it takes away from the beauty of the phone's curves. Also it seems to mainly protect the back of the phone, which is quite cheap ($30+ original oem). So I took that off too. I just need to be more careful *fingers crossed*.
Total naked for now. Got the Nillkin tempered glass back protector on the way and that's the only thing I will put on. It came with 2 protector for the camera lens as well. Need something on the back to prevent scratches from putting the phone on any surface.
Naked, I can't appreciate the phone all covered up.
Just want to ask now how is everyone doing with being naked especially on the front screen?
I will never use cases had a military drop tested case for my Nexus 5 and smash, maybe that one i had was a quality control issue ?
But i very much like Dbrand ?

Question Anyone tried the Spigen Tough Armour case?

Got my S23U today, I had bought the Spigen tough armour case for it.
I have found that this case seems pretty bad for use with screen protectors. I had put a glass screen protector on and when I pushed the phone into the case, it makes the sides of the screen protector lift a tiny bit as it shows a load of bubbles that weren't there at all prior to putting into the case.
I tried putting another screen protector on and tying again and this one done exactly the same.
After looking at it all, the case is very thick, so i am going to try to get a different one.
Has anyone else tried this case?
I bought one for my S22U but I only used it briefly. It wasn't a good ergonomic fit for me.
The dbrand grip case I'm using is and I highly recommend it. I have one on order for my S23U.
No screen protector compatibility issues with it either.

Spigen makes their own screen protectors that are meant to work with their cases. I have never used one though as the Tough Armor always extends far enough beyond the screen of the phones I've used it on that I've never managed to crack one.
i always been curious why people wear their phone with these gigantic extreme cases.
I'm definitely pro case, but phone are already quite tough, an a little layer of silicone (plus possibly a glass screen protector) would be enough to prevent damages in most of the circumstances

I have large hands. Big cases actually make it easier for me to type without cramping my fingers. In addition to making sure I don't break the glass on my expensive toy.
Keep in mind, I used to carry around this thing... Nothing these days compares to the thickness of this thing.

I'd suggest going with the Neo Hybrid and Spigen's screen protector
I've had the Spigen Tough Armor for probably 5 of my past phones and it is definitely a favorite of mine. I change cases every few days along with the Spigen Liquid Crystal, Samsung S-View, a leather wallet case, and the CaseBorne heavy-duty case. This year's S23U CaseBorne is a bit too big and tight for me, so it likely won't be in rotation very often. I don't use any screen protector.
My problem with spigen cases is that the power & volume buttons are open not fully sealed like samsung cases or other high end covers which get dust & particles into the cover & scratches the frame when trying to remove it
Perfect combo for me.
Of the 2 Spiegen cases that I use, the Liquid Crystal does have open button coverings, but the Tough Armor does not.
