Question Google Assistant button remap? - Sony Xperia 1 III

Already have my mk3 rooted and all.
Now looking for solution to custom that extra button to my liking.
So far, I tried this app, but it did not offer me option to modify that GA button.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

international ROM. You can assign any software on the button in other ROMs than the Chinese.

This app only detected remap the Google Assistant button if your Mobile phone is Xperia 1 II/ 5 II.
You can try download the source code file, then use android studio to add xperia 1III model in shouko-0.5.0/app/src/main/java/xyz/ivaniskandar/shouko/util/DeviceModel.kt and pack it back to apk
Or waiting the developer to update the app

try xposed edge pro

I hope sony will add this possibility to remap this button officially.
Such a waste to use it only for google. Btw I am not using this google assistant function at all so the button is wasted when I could use it for something else.

[ROM][4.2.2] MIUI Asnet v5 3.8.16 - Multiwindow

Hi! I'm writing about the Asnet ROM, with MIUI, because I can't explain myself how activate the multiwindows on my galaxy S2.
In "settings" I have already activate that option, it's the first in the menu of display settings. But there isn't any voice where I can discover which button of touch-panel I have to push for activate the function. I've already tried the classic "back" but nothing.
Can someone help me ?

it has to be on settings -> display settings and the 2nd 3rd option was it i think, why dont you ask in asnet thread for it ? they would know it better then us ... but in my opinion it has to be on settings

For first, thank you for your answer. I can't ask in the thread of asnet because I'm a new user, so I've tried to write in it but I don't have permission.
About the problem: it isn't the authorization of multiwindows, that, as you say, it's in display settings, but in its activation. For the Custom Firmware of Galaxy S3, for example, I have to push "back" for some seconds and then will be open the menu of multiwindows. So also in other rom. But for this, evidently, it's different.

[XPOSDE MODULE] 3dot menu mod

*** This mod is designed for device / rom that didn't have a onscreen navbar (i.e.: samsung rom) ***
If your rom already have a navbar, you should already have 3dot menu enabled and enabling this mod will only hide your navbar!
This mod will enable 3dot menu button in all application (using a 0 height navbar), enjoy!
Side effects:
Samsung use fixed layout for their apps, and when a navbar is enabled we got unexpected results, can't do nothing about this... (see screenshot)
after enebling the mod screenshot combination change to AOSP style: Power+MenuDown
Read here for more info about 3dot menus: http://android-developers.blogspot.it/2012/01/say-goodbye-to-menu-button.html
Special thanks to Tungstwenty for this

So will this overlap applications and sit on top of them?
No, it's a guideline suggested since android 3.0 honeycomb, so the app had to support it.

Your package will not install from the xposed installer...claims: Package name is incorrect. Downloaded it.tnx.xposednavbarmod Expected it.tnx.xposednavAbarmod
Really wanted to use this, but when I enable it and reboot, I repeatedly get the error message "Unfortunately, SystemUI has stopped". The taskbar does not load and my phone is extremely slow.
I'm running stock rooted VZW SGS4.

Major issue with Samsung rom (s3).
Recent apps menu does not show ( long press menu). Also the contacts (phone app) are overlapped by the menu button, cannot see the first contact.
Canot take screenshots either...
Otherwise, great idea and app.

Would it be practical to include a 'blacklist' feature which could be used to exclude apps like the Samsung ones which cause a problem with the screen layout?
Apart from this issue this is a great module!

Would it be possible for you to make an xposed mod that removes the 3 dot for devices such as Nexus 4 with softkeys. On my nexus 4 I use a menu button in my softkeys so I want to get rid of the 3 dots
I love it.... thanks for this great hack
Have same long press issues as well for recent apps. Have tried several ROMs for the T-Mobile S3 T999, all running 4.1.x Touchwiz base (need WiFi calling).
Long press opens Google voice search or s-voice depending on install

Kitkat-Extracting Off Screen Gestures application

Hi,
I have 2 factory samples from manufacturers running Android Kitkat.
One of them has an option of using offscreen gestures like wake up on double tap, draw "C" to launch camera etc.
I am trying to identify which application enables this functionality so that I can extract the same and enable it on my second device.
I have tried looking for apps inside /system/framework and /system/apps but could not locate the same.
Can someone help me out with this?
Regards,
Rohit

I am not the best person to guide you, i am at the same place at you. never done it.
But i this should start by looking at kernel code and how display works, drivers and that stuff. i think all of that is in C that's why i never continue the research. i dont know c.

Samsung i9505 Google search icon issue

Good day, all! I did not find any suggestion on my issue via search, unfortunately.
I just rooted my phone (i9505) some days ago, then I bought Greenify app. After that I noticed that Google search icon in recent applications menu (long press on Home Button) was replaced with big magnifier icon which does not affect usability, but affects the appearance much.
Do anyone have a decision on how could I fix this issue?
Thank you in advance.
PS.
Forum forbids me to post any link in my message, so screenshot could be found in my profile Issues album.

Highly unlikely Greenify had anything to do with changes you are seeing. Need to broaden your search to general Google updates and those specific to your device. Failing that you may want to looking into Xposed Framework and modules like gravitybox that permit broad customization of functionality and eye candy.

Thanks for your answer! I noticed that Greenify really add itself to this menu in the role of search application ( S Voice and Google Now also could be found there). As soon as I appointed Google Now as default search app everything returned to their places.

Wow, thanks for detailing your findings. I never considered that angle which provides a clear explanation. Hadn't viewed Greenify as a generic search tool outside the app itself. Something to watch for.

I just want to add that it does not provide any search functions, it just introduce itself to system as generic search tool to add own Hybernation+ icon to this menu.
What @Kitocat means to say is that the Greenify shortcut for hibernation appears as one of the options on long pressing the home button. This can be eliminated from within the Greenify App if necessary. No search function though.

I'm sorry, what are "LABS"??
Galaxy labs is a new feature of s7 ans s7 edge.
*.Show all apps on home screen:This is an option that’s not really going to offer something special but it quickly shows all your applications on the home screen following which there’s no App Drawer. We had earlier heard rumors that the Android N may not feature the App Drawer & this option is somewhat close to what was rumoured. Once you enable this all the applications would move to the home screen in the order of how they were installed and there’s no other customization offered. If you disable this option a message would appear stating “A separate Apps screen will be created so that you can easily find your most important apps via the Apps icon on the home screen. Any customizations you have previously made to the home screen will be discarded.
*.Quick Dial:This is an option that allows you to simple make a call with long press of the home key and a name. Once enabled it will be used instead of the Google App when you press and hold the Home Key. We gave this feature a try, and looks like its powered with the Samsung’s own proprietaryS-Voice functionand it could not call the person weintended to, following which threwan error on the screen as shown below.
Why would you want to disable your apps draw?
The whole point of it is to remove clutter and rarely used apps from your homescreen, and allow you to customise your homescreen without stupid amounts of icons all over the place making it look ugly like iOS

Because we can. If you will start using iOS and continue using it through 2 years or so, you will understand the idea behind this feature.
