Question Navbar buttons remap ? - Sony Xperia 1 III

Does anyone knows at least one 100% working method for navbar buttons remap ? Without root, of course! Custom navigation bar is not working, unfortunately (((
Just, please, don't say to use gestures, it's extremely inconvenient!

Assistant button remapper module (magisk/xposed)
I've created a very simple Magisk module to allow Xposed Edge to properly remap the Google Assistant button. You'll need Magisk and a Magisk-based Xposed implementation (I use LSPosed) for this to work. Xposed Edge is the only remapping tool...

Multitasking is the only thing regular 3 button setup is better for. I held back for as long as I could, but I just went gestures and now can't go back. "Back" is more convenient using gestures and I use back more than I use multi tasking so...

pie controls and hardware button functions

Does anyone use pie controls with their GS4? I am going to try it, or remap some of the hardware buttons. I am thinking changing the menu button to the recent apps, and changing the long press home button to open google search. At least this way it would be kind of like a Nexus device. Does anyone else remap their hardware buttons?

First time I tried pie controls, I really didn't like them. But I flashed PAC last week, and I kind of like them now. I don't like the idea of nav buttons taking up screen real estate, and I want a one-click recents option. So I've been using them for about a week, and it's not bad. Finding a good trigger area is a bit tricky, though.

[Q] Swap Home/Back buttons

Anyone know if it is possible to swap the mapping of the home/back buttons? I use the back button more often than the home button and find the location of the home button easier to reach in general. I realize I can't change the actual hardware icon ... looking for a software fix.

You can try the "Xposed Additions" module that remaps hardware keys but not positive if it will work, never used it on this phone.

There are some options that can help with this in the ViperMAX ROM:
1. In tweaks you can set custom mappings for short press, double press, long press and swipe action for the home hardware key. The same can be done for the back key (except for the swipe action, if I'm not mistaken).
2. You can enable PIE, which basically allows you to slide your finger from the side of the screen to pop-up customizable software buttons on the screen. I use this for the same reason you describe (to make my most common actions easily accessible with my right thumb). In-fact I use PIE to pop-up software buttons to do things like "back", "pull down notifications" and "home"...
If you take advantage of those tweaks, it is easily enough to suite your needs and more.

Yes, it possible software wise. I'll pm how to. File explorer needed with root access.
It can be done with Sence or Aosp, stock or custom ROMs. I edit this ever device I have to suit my needs. I like running full screen, no status bar nor navigation bar. One reason I like my Max. Full 5.9 viewing area.

"Xposed Additions" will give you the ability to remap every key (even softkeys) as you like

Allways on Navigation Bar? Request!

Is there anyway I can have the navigation bar on all the time? Including fullscreen videos? I hate having to click back on the camera (and other apps) for the navbar to appear when I can just press home if the navbar was always on. Is there anyway to do this through Xposed orany other method?
The soft keys?
If you're talking about the soft keys then there are 2 ways for them to pop up on the screen.
1. Tap the screen (this only works on certain apps)
2. Swipe - if you're in landscape mode then swipe the right edge inwards the soft keys will appear.
If you're in Portrait then swipe up from the bottom edge and the soft keys will appear.
But if you're talking about the Navigation bar then you need to swipe Downward no matter if you're in Landscape or Portrait..

I know how to make them appear, I'm asking if there's a way to make them stay there all the time like physical keys. Off topic is there also a way to remove the delay response of holding the power button for the power options to appear?

Sorry I can't give you firm answers because my phone is with LG for repair, but I do recall seeing in settings options for when the buttons appear and disappear. It allowed you to set it on a per-app basis.
As for the delay response for the power button, your best bet would be to see if there is an Xposed plugin. To use Xposed you'll need to root the phone.
When I get my phone back I can give you more specifics, but LG has the worst warranty repair service and has yet to fix the issue after sending it to them four times.
You at JBLM? Thanks for your service!

Thanks for your reply  but I've looked at everything possibly related to power button delay or the navigation bar (soft keys) on Xposed before posting here and still nothing. I did find a screenshot delay remover in Xposed and works great. Finding the power button is not as important as the soft keys because I can just use Rom Toolbox's rebooter and power/reboot/recovery etc... The soft keys thing on the other hand I would like to have because I hate having to pull up for them to make them appear... Iv'e looked at the settings you mention for showing/not showing per app but every app is not listed, its just some of the apps on your phone (apps that I would like to have the soft keys always on are mostly video apps which are not listed on this settings.) I', almost used to it by now, I just rather have the keys always on or a phone with actual physical keys.
Yes I live in JBLM . I'm a dog handler in the Army.

[Request] Xposed module to enhance the navbar (CM 14.1 like)

Dear friends,
I was quite shocked to see how few navbar customization modules are out there.
Gravitybox adds an overflow button to it, that opens another bar with other buttons in it. I'd rather have just one bar with 4-5 buttons (I'm on a tablet), than two bars and one button to open the extra one every time.
The other couple modules dont really do much or dont even work.
Is it possible to get a port of the super awesome navbar customization found on CM 14.1 to an xposed module?
Thank you so much,
TD

Thanks for the tip itandy, sadly I did check that out already, but it doesn't do what I need (for example, adding completely custom buttons like volume + and volume -, etc).
