[GUIDE][NO ROOT][STOCK] Fix some FPS/Hz issues in games for POCO X3 NFC - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello, I've had the bright idea to try this when searching for the battery management thingy that breaks all the fps in games. It's not perfect, but at least i have a mostly constant framerate (around 35-45 fps in Genshin Impact)
I did this on 12.0.8 Global, stock with no root or unlocked bootloader.
What do you need:
SetEdit app from Play Store
Internet connection
Patience to fiddle with all of this (optional if you want to test more things out)
How to do it:
Go to Settings > Battery & performance > App battery saver > Find the game and choose "no restrictions"
Open SetEdit and edit the values of "peak_refresh_rate" and "user_refresh_rate" to 90 (you can try other values as long as it's not exactly 60 or 120 to trigger the battery management setting)
Optional: Enable "Force 4x MSAA" from the Developer Options.
And you're pretty much done from here.
If you wanna see the refresh rate you can go to Developer options and enable "Show refresh rate" or in "Power monitor" press start on the first square.
This did the trick for me and i stopped getting constant fps drops from 30 to 12fps or so. If you find any better solution feel free to comment it here.

is it safe to enable Force 4x MSAA in developer options?

[SEMI-SOLVED] F5121 FPS locked to 48 everywhere!

I need some help. My device can only display a maximum of 48-49 fps, at least I think so. I noticed that the device was a little slow on scrolling, and downloaded an app called Gamebench. I captured the Settings app, YouTube videos in 60 fps, 2D games and more but everything is locked to 48 fps! I don't know if it is the apps fault or something else. Please test your own device and report back!
Edit: found the solution. Some apps just do something on boot related to STAMINA that causes the lock. Just disabled those apps in BootManager, rebooted and the device runs at 60 fps! Thank you venomxob for pointing out STAMINA as a culprit to this problem.
Edit 2: this is NOT caused by apps. Disabling every single app in BootManager doesn't help. But the temporary fix is still to toggle STAMINA on and off.
Have you tried switching off STAMINA mode?

STAMINA is off. I actually just got the phone for Christmas and I have never turned STAMINA on.
If I would do a test on a fresh wipe, then I'll wait out until the Oreo update comes. I am running stock OS.
Recording the screen with GravityBox yielded footage at an even lower framerate of 37. Viewing 60p footage on my phone and computer side by side I can see the difference in smoothness so it's not Gamebench's fault for this. Turning off developer options does not help either.
I think i found a solution. I turned STAMINA-mode on and off and noticed a frames boost. I measured the Settings app scrolling and read 60 fps! I didn't turn it on and off after reading the first reply because I didnt think it was the cause of the problem. So I think it is fixed! Thank you so much venomxob!

Guide to making the LG G6 faster in gaming! (No root).

Good morning, afternoon or evening, this will depend on the moment you are reading this.
About two months ago I get a LG G6 H870i and my previous device was a Zuk Z2, I really was disappointed with the LG G6 in performance, my Zuk was a monster in that and he looks like an ant ...
So, looking for solutions, I tried a lot of things and after a long study, I created this guide on how to increase LG G6 performance in games, I'll put the steps here and now, I hope you guys can enjoy a nice gaming experience after this guide. Note: This was tested in the mobile game PUBG and worked.
Step 1: Enable developer options.
(For this, go to> Phone> Software Information> Assembly Number. Click this at least 5 times quickly, this will enable developer access.)
Step 2: In the developer options, go to> Restrict background processes and select three processes.
Step 3: Select the option> Increase 4x MSAA.
Step 4: Select the option> Force GPU rendering.
Step 5: Go to the "Smallest Width" option and enter 444.
Step 6: Scale during animation 0.5x
Step 7: Animation transition scale 0.5x
Step 8: Window animation scale> Off.
This is the end of this guide, some of these settings I used to gain more fluidity and greater battery savings, they are good for games too eventually.
I can not forget to say that when your handset is turned off or unplugged and you turn it back on, the background process option will return to the factory default, so you should re-enable it when you play or want better device performance.
This is 100% safe and all the options in this guide can be returned to your default. I hope this helps you and had fun playing.
Editing: I am providing a video link with a game test with the settings in this guide.

well, limit background apps is the thing here...
adjust the dpi to 444 is like make you eyes cry almost for so small things will be, and this didnt improve nothing - belive me. i have mine set to 369 and its best dpi you can set for this device.
and, since you disable window animation, why dont disable all other scale animations and animation transitions?! its all good to be disabled and this will improve overall speed when navigate all around menus and things.
other than that Force GPU rendering and increase 4X MSAA is ok to turn on for gaming, but better disable Force GPU when you want better battery life since this will push GPU clock at max.

Well I like DPI 444, but this should work on other DPI numbers, I provide this number in my guidebook, because I did not want anyone trying, had different experiences from me, so I put everything exactly the way I use it.
The window animations are a bit strange if you disable them all, I'd rather leave at least, although it's just visual, I prefer them that way.
I got 7h of screen and 9h even with the GPU configured so, so I do not think consumption is all this...
But thanks for your comment!
I'm uploading a test video to YouTube with these settings in this guide.
Thanks for posting this. I have tried different settings myself. I did find that the device performs much better when the display width is close to screen DPI, with small to large font size.
Do check the boot animations and it's fluidity when you change the DPI of the screen and update if you can.
Cheers.
Step 3: Select the option> Increase 4x MSAA.
Why would this improve performance?
If anything it should do the opposite because it's supersampling

well, i must say i hae pretty much same SoT as you, with all animations off and MSAA disable/unchecked and Force GPU disabled too, must say Melina Kernel and a pretty good debloat (for people who are rooted) make this phone a huge deal.
Having mine since May last year and my first's SoT are around 6 and half to 8 hours, now with little changes here and there (debloat, build.prop changes, edit some xml to enable google services going doze too and melina kernel) well, have almost everyday 7 to 8.
well, i dont gaming, i just play Rendo 3D, but even with 50% brightness all time i can go like 3h Rendo, 2h Youtube and 2 hours of browse web and some 30/40 video call on whatsapp.
dont forgot to charge the phone when you have 20 to 30% and let it go out of battery once or twice per month, this will increase the life span of it.

Unfortunately,we don't read as much as we should these days. You could simply read that [email protected] and [email protected] is 2922x1439 (way higher than FHD).
Fake? I don't know what you're talking about. This app has a lot of features and all of them are fake?
Thanks for your review, you wasted my time as well.
Then why you didn't stop at reading the description
Rather than calling my app fake you could've report a bug and tell me your S20 version..that's what ignorance is.

Added trial APK.
Opensourced.
Source code of the free version is available on Github!
Link in OP.
I'm excited to announce a pretty big update coming these days.Stay tuned!
Achieved between 0.0% and 0.29% battery discharge while screen off, using the new "Ultra Power Saving Mode" feature that will be available soon.Useful for long journeys without charger or power (or any other event that needs huge battery life).

Is there a command for that? I managed to set "refresh_rate_mode 1" but it just changes the name in settings, doesn't change at all the screen refresh rate
I tried every way I could think on but it seems impossible, isn't that hardware limited?

We're having hard times with Samsung
Hi! I love this app, even tho I think the price should be around 1.50€/$ and not almost 3. But anyways, I have two issues to report:
1. If you select WQHD and a high refresh rate, It works but stops after reboot (OneUI 3.0)
2. The adaptive refresh rate is displayed as "Adaptive" in the settings app when you activate it but when you enable the HZ display counter thing idk in the developer options it stays at 120hz the whole time (Also only OneUI 3.0)
Also can you merge the S20AdvancedLockscreen app and this one? Or at least adding the Advanced Lockscreen feature to the menu?

Hey,thanks for the feedback.
Google keeps about 30% of the total price, sometimes even more and that's why the price is so much but thanks to you I will think about it.
1.Ok,good to know.
2.GPUWatch only shows FPS (I think?) and I cannot control Samsung's software,I can only enable the feature.
We can keep in touch,if you want?

Question Any way to actually "force peak refresh rate"

Just checking in on the status of forcing 90hz. Was disappointed to find there was no way to do it when I purchased the phone.
Is there any way to actually force 90hz at this point? I find that it goes to 60hz about 30-40% of the time depending on type of use despite enabling "force peak refresh rate" in developer options, it's quite annoying.
Thanks
Try this one
Cheers

Not sure if other reply was an error but forcing 90Hz all the time is simple.
In Developer Options, scroll down to "Force peak refresh rate" & switch it on.
Probably good idea to also go to Settings|Display and turn off "Smooth display".

It still drops to 60hz in Maps and any app that uses the Camera. I don't think having smooth display disabled makes a difference when you use the developer option.
Not sure but you can try to set using
adb shell settings put system peak_refresh_rate 90.0
adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 90.0

That's why I linked to the Optimization topic. The command you mentioned is written there, except use 120.0 (Pixel 6 Pro). On the Pixel 6 it will change to 90Hz or replace the 120.0 with 90.0
But the OP didn't even gave a feedback.
Cheers

I have tried that. That is what I did with my OP7T but it doesn't work on the P6.
This issue is directly related to the Camera being used and Google Maps. I can't believe I am the only one talking about this. It drives me mad. I will literally pay someone to come up with a solution to this problem.
EDIT: I FIGURED IT OUT!!
adb shell settings put system peak_refresh_rate 24.0
adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 24.0

Question XQ-BC52 - Some issues

Hi All
I got the below Xperia 1 MK iii XQ-BC52 2nd hand
Os version: 12
Build: 61.1.A.11.88
Have few problems with it hope that you can help out:
1. Low battery life.
2. How to set the resolution to be always 1080p?
3. Green tint - any fix for this?
4. Low volume notifications although all Maxed out when selecting the notification tone, it sounds ok
but while getting notifications the sound is much much lower.
5. Charging speed is very slow although i disabled the adaptive charging.
6. How to enable VOLTE without rooting the phone - I'm in Israel and PCS (Pelephone Communication) saying that volte is enabled for my account on their end and that might be my phone's issue.
1. Seems to be an issue on stock since last update.
2. You're on 12 so it is always running in 1080p.
3. Turn off 120hz mode.
4. Dunno
5. Probably for the best.
6. VOLTE is supported only in few cases on 1 III. Or on custom roms.
I am on the XQ-BC62 Build 61.1.A.2.211 so some options may differ.
1. Low batter is going to differ from device to device. How apps use the device, wifi , 5G, ect. It's like having two identical cars with two different owners. One going to get more miles to the gallon. You can see what apps are running in the background by going to 'Developer Options' and look at "Running services' or use 'System Tracing' for finding apps that are problematic.
2. Shefczenko default is 1080, On my device I have the option, Settings , Display , Display size. I keep it at default, never messed with it.
3.High refresh rate is in Settings, Display, High refresh rate. Turning this on will increase battery consumption. You can go to Developer Options and click on 'Show refresh rate'. A overlay on screen will show rate.
Developer Options, Graphics driver preferences, set apps to use system or default.
