Question BT not pairing with Bose Mini - Sony Xperia 1 III

My Xperia 1 III doesn't pair with my Bose Mini II Soundlink.
It shows it in discovered devices list but tapping on it doesnt do anything. No error, No nothing. Other phones pair with it with no issues. Adding to my confusion the Xperia pairs with 2 headsets flawlessly.
Tried resetting the Box & rebooting the phone, no changes.
Anyone else having the same issue or any suggestions?

Not the same device but my Xperia 1 III connects no problem to my Bose Revolve Soundlink speaker and Bose QC headphones so may be an issue with the speaker was opposed to phone?

Rsetting all Network Settings did the trick for me.
Settings -> System -> Reset -> Reset Network
Afterwards pairing worked again. It seemed to be a hiccup during pairing which left this specific device in void.

[Q] Xperia Z Ultra Issues: Bluetooth

I'm not sure what's wrong but I've been having bluetooth connectivity issue last few days. I paired the Z Ultra with Sony Smartwatch and I noticed that the Smartwatch would loose connectivity every once in a while, even though the phone is in my pants pocket or just 30cm away from.
I did all the usual troubleshooting, restarting both devices and re-pair it.
Anybody experiencing similar issue?
I have actually experienced a problem with the bluetooth when pairing to my Jabra headset. I have only had the phone for a 2 days and just recently updated to build number 14.1.b.0.471. Since then, i havent tested out the bluetooth yet. However, i have seen some bug fixes.
Have you updated to the latest firmware yet?

Yes, the phone is up to date.
I'm having Bluetooth issues with various headsets and this phone. Some of them disconnect, some hang, some randomly will have one way voice in the middle of the call.
Running the latest firmware. Something is up with the BT drivers on this phone.

i had similar issues with bluetooth and linking to my car. at first it worked fine, but if i would change input on car stereo and come back, to the bluetooth, the mb bluetooth would auto start google play music. the solution for me was to remove all device from bluetooth option from phone and car and it worked perfectly.
That sounds worrying cos I ordered the SBH52
Hope they fixed this. Haven't tested my blue tooth yet cos I don't have a BT device.

The thing is, I only paired one bluetooth device to the phone. As mentioned above, I unpaired, restart and re-pair the Smartwatch again and the issue persist.
I find it weird because it worked fine when I first paired the Smartwatch with the phone. The problem only occurred recently
I've had nothing but trouble using SBH50 (same with both firmwares 1.0.A.4.0 and 1.1.A.0.7) with Z Ultra (14.1.B.0.475). First time connection (NFC) went smoothly. Followed by lots of trouble within minutes. Frequent lost connections (even when they were just a few inches apart) followed by requests for pairing. Random loss of media or phone audio without any warning sign.
Connection was stable only after uninstalling the SBH50 android application (and all the smart extras), disabling Sony Smart Connector and execution of manual pairing. No more event reminders, but at least it is now usable for music and phone calls. Hopefully Sony will update firmware/software to address the connectivity problems.
[Edited 30 August 2013: Happy to report that the connectivity problems were resolved in firmware 14.1.B.1.510]

I have the SBH20 and never had any problem... connected the first time via NFL, just turned on bluetooth on both the phone and the headset since.
Everything runs smooth, and I'm still at. 510.

broken bluetooth
hi guys, ive been looking for a fix to my bluetooth. i just bought SW2 but i still unable to use it because apparently the bluetooth on my phone could not detect the watch. I have tried reset, fixing it via companion apps in windows but problems still persist. i have tried using my galaxy with SW2 and no problem there. basically it was my bluetooth inside the ZU that are causing all the problems. Im on the latest build .257 and are not rooted. Bootloader is locked and everything else is stock. When i tried to connect via the 1-touch NFC there's dialogue showing up on my phone that the watch is connected but nothing happen afterwards. the SW2 is still in its pairing mode and there are no instruction to ask me for download or anything as shown by Sony in their youtube channel. Im growing frustrated with this phone. Having to live without root and now wasted $200 on a watcg that i cant even use. argghhhhhhhh....any help is much appreciated guys!
I have the same problem with the Sony SmartWatch 2 when I talk in my BT headset the phone keeps losing connection with my watch.
edit: system restore did the trick
Im also facing unresolved issue with my xperia zultra and bluetooth connectivit.
My phone is unable to recognize any bluetooth hardwares and its becoming quite annoyiing.
Has there been any remedy to this issue?
Thanks

Z2 bluetooth problem pairing with headset

Hi all,
I recently got the xperia z2 and have been having trouble getting the z2 to identify my sony ericsson mw600 via bluetooth. I know i can pair the phone with my laptop and other devices so i dont think its a internal problem. I also know my mw600 headset works with my old phone. Any idea why the z2 might not be seeing my mw600 on the bluetooth screen?

Im not familiar with the headset but some times devices can only be synced with 1 device at a time, does it need to maybe be unlinked then linked with a new device?

I am quite sure the sony ericsson mw600 allows you to pair multiple devices, and besides i broke my other phone so wouldn't be able to unpair it.
the must go into pairing mode first, then use the z2 to scan via bluetooth and connect it.
bluetooth handfree device doesn't require to unpair just pair with another device to overwrite it.

just to clarify -
is the headset in paring mode?
Thank you for someone to notice it and I have the same issue with my DR-BTN200. It shows connected and music plays from external speakers and if it successfully connected then every single notification you get the phone keeps disconnecting it from the headset and plays music from external speakers and then connect it back to bluetooth headset.
HUGE BUG

Don't know if this helps but i have the smart wireless headset pro - mw1 and that works fantastically well. Had some trouble before with my Xperia V but they are all gone now with the Xperia Z2. Just put the headset in paringmode, made the phone visible, erased my old Xperia V from the MW1 and all was good.
Hi all,
Thanks for the input! I managed to solve it. My samsung s3 never needed the mw600 to actually go into pairing so i had no clue the mw600 even had a pairing mode! After some checking I found out i had to hold the power button for 5 seconds for it to go into pairing. After that my z2 picked it up fine and works just like before.
Thanks again to everyone that replied!

All bt devices need to go in pairing mode before they can be discovered. For your S3, I am guessing it is the first phone you paired with the headset brand new? Cause most devices will go straight into the pairing mode when turned on for the first time, hence that's why you didn't know or need to activate it.
had pairing issues too, was not able to pair some devices, but after disabling NFC i had no problems.

[Q] Bluetooth pairing with specific headphone causes infinite bootloop

I have Samsung Galaxy SII (Sprint) running Android 4.0.4. This is stock rom.
I recently got a Bluetooth headset (Taotronics TT-BH06). I paired it with the phone and it worked fine. However, the next time I turned on Bluetooth the phone went into an bootloop. The only way I could stop it was to to into Bluetooth settings and unpair the headset. I have tried pairing several times and get the same problem each time. Also, when I originally pair, the device has the manufacturer's name, but when I later go to unpair, it has the name "00:23:01:23:32:B1".
I sent a support query to the vendor, and they sent me a replacement. However, I get the same problem with the replacment! I have used other BT devices with my Galaxy S2 and had no problems. Furthermore, I have used this Taotronics headset with another Android device, without any problems. Has anyone heard of this kind of problem? Is there any way to fix this problem with the phone?

Lollipop 5.1.1 Bluetooth headset control

Sorry if this is not the right category, I have been looking to find one better suited to post this subject but couldn't find one.
As stated above, I'm having issues with controlling music from my Bluetooth headset. I've already done some troubleshooting but am currently at a loss and hope to find some help here.
Let me first describe the problem first:
When I connect my Bluetooth headset (Philips SHB7150) to my Xperia Z3 tablet compact I can not control my music. If I start playing music from the app, it plays fine through the headset but I don't have control. This used to work before, unfortunately I can't pinpoint when the issue started but it's possible it happened after upgrading from Lollipop 5.0.2 to 5.1.1.
Now on to my troubleshooting results:
- When I turn off the BT headset and turn it back on, it connects to the tablet without hassle but I have no music controls.
- When I turn off the tablet and turn it back on, it connects to the BT headset without hassle but I have no music controls.
- When I pair the headset again using NFC, it connects to the tablet and I have music control :good:
- When I turn off BT on the tablet and turn it back on it connects to the BT headset and I have music control :good:
- When I connect the BT headset to the tablet and go into BT settings, open the settings for the BT headset + uncheck 'media' + confirm + check 'media' + confirm and I have music control :good:
- When the tablet connects to BT in my car, it starts playing after the play command from the receiver. :good:
- In these last 4 cases, the solution is only good until next time the BT headset is turned off and connects again. Then there is no music control until I repeat one of those 4 steps.
Things I have tried:
- Use another application to play my music (stock Xperia music app, Google music, Rocket Player, Shuttle+, ... are all experiencing the same issue. So I don't think it is due to the music playing software
- Tried an application (headset button controller) to try and change the button behaviour but it does not receive the command from the headset (no beep)
- Connect my BT headset to another device (Sony Xperia S, MacBook Air) and it works fine (both after pairing and after turning BT headset off and on again)
- Factory reset my tablet using Sony Bridge for Mac -included wipe of internal data-, still the same issue.
- I tried to find some ADB command to reset everything BT, but all I could accomplish was using the command to start BT (due to lack of knowledge on ADB commands)
- I deleted all app data and cache for 'Bluetooth sharing' in application manager + restarted and connected again (no success)
- I re-paired the headset once more but this time without adding it as a smart-lock unlocking device but had no luck controlling music when I connected it again
To conclude:
The headset is working fine with other devices, I can't pinpoint if this is a software/hardware issue because it appears to be only for this BT headset/laptop combination and with all music software AND continues after factory reset...
Other BT devices (=car stereo, I don't have another BT headset to test with) are working fine to control music on my tablet
Restarting BT on the tablet or re-autoring the use of media in BT settings on the tablet permanently resolves the issue until the next time the headset is connected.
So it looks like either something hijacks my device as soon as it connects to the tablet OR the media-authorization gets revoked in the BT settings for that device. Perhaps I'm saying stupid things, but I'm really hoping that you, the more knowledgeable Android developer/enthousiast/... would be able to make more sense and to give me a hand in order to fix this issue.
I currently am dependent on my tablet for playing music during my daily train commutes since my beloved Xperia Z1 Compact is in for warranty repairs
ANY help would be appreciated !

problem with Parrot car kit anyone?

So all my other phones work fine with the Parrot MKi9200. Except the ROG.
I'm going to try describing my experience as best I can. Wanting to see if anyone is having the same issues (with other asus phones even) and has found a solution.
First time I tried connecting, the bluetooth code popped up, I entered the default code and attempted pairing but the Parrot has too many paired devices so it was rejecting the ROG
so i cancelled the pairing and went into the Parrot to delete old devices
Tried pairing again but this time, it no longer asks for the code
The pairing appears to be successful on the Parrot, the phone says it's connected but when I try playing anything, there is no sound at all
I've tried forgetting the connection on the phone and then pairing again. and strangely enough, it no longer asks for the code, which is abnormal
The Parrot has no record of the ROG as a paired device so there is nothing I can do from that end
On the phone I then tried clearing bluetooth cache
setting org.coreaudio something bluetooth to not be optimised for battery
tried pairing a random headphone with the phone and it works just fine
