Question NORD 2 - Over heating issue - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Is your device having this kind of issue over heating ?
20-30 minutes of normal usage, browsing in the internet. It makes my nord 2 overheat. Is it normal or faulty ?

It's not normal and I advise you to check what apps are using your battery

chrome and youtube are the only apps are running.
when i tried to reset my device.. after 5 minutes of configuration with data on.. it is overheating..

when playing games, 5g on..
temperature reach 39-41 degrees..
hows your phone ?

30 to 40 degrees isn't bad for playing games, but if you do have serious battery drain while just browsing, then a screenshot of battery usage is probably useful. I use Simple Battery Graph to check the drain and it looks fine for me

Post your battery temp and drain for reference please

I am a long time owner of the Galaxy S that has recently bought the S II.
Comparing to the previous model the S II heats up real bad with my usage and the battery drains incredibly fast. When running 10 min of flash video, my battery temp shoots up to over 50C and it drains over 20% of my battery. This is even with the May 11 ROM release.
So i would like to ask other owners to post their results with a flash video as reference (i used the video on watch futurama online S2E1 as my test if you could use the same one maby). Running full screen for 10 min at lowest brightness what is your battery temp and how much battery is drained (i use Smart Battery Monitor to get those values)?
Thank you.
I think it's Flash - it will always be a power hog.
720p YouTube video doesn't even run smoothly on my Macbook Pro, so it's going to be a challenge for the SGS2.
Its not just flash. Games, market and some other stuff also causes the same thing. As i said Galaxy S didnt have such problems with runnin flash or any other content... i want to hear from other users if they are expiriencing the same problems or if my cellphone is defective.
When it is on standby it is lik 1% -2% an hour. When I just touch it and play some games or browse the web, I just see the % go by fast.
Yesterday i downloaded some games, browsed the web and played the games. 26% lost in 45 minutes.
So its not just mine.. this sounds horrible. Anyone else confirm this? Also post the 10min test result with temp and drain?
I played a game for 20 minutes, lost 20%. And that's with almost all games.
General usage - 35c
Heavy usage - 40c
Idle - 29c
Charging with no usae - 41c
Charging with usage - 44c
And when i put my case in the temp increases about 4c on average... So now when i charge it i put it near my air con. Battery is good lasts me a day
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
So battery does drain that fast... what is heavy usage for you?
Can you please just run 10 min of the video i did on wifi and tell me what peak temp you get exactly with it and exactly how much it drained the battery... anyone just so i can compare my results, its just 10 minutes of your time.

Really??? Videos 1080p Youtube run smoothly on my GS2, no problem at all. After updated to the newest firmware (KE7), CPU temperature is noticeable lower when playing game for me, and battery life improves too
I noticed a decrease in temperature with latest firmware too, but how much exactly is your max temp now? Give me some numbers...?
I had max 41c after 15min of game and down to 32c after 3min
Thank you. After the last update from Kies i also had a max of 42C after 15 min of watching a flash video. Before the update the same flash video made it shot up to 58C.

[Q] Webbrowsing drains battery?

I noticed that with all I'm doing to save battery (GPS, Bluetooth, 3g off, brightness on the lowest setting in the browser and general) its not making much of a diference in my opinion. I even under clocked the cpu to 500mhz. All I want to do is webbrowse for an hour or so throughout the day and yet it seems to use more battery than I believe it needs to. I have about 35 minutes of display time and 10 minutes of web time and my phone has already lost 7%. This doesn't seem normal to me since I've lowered everything possible of the phone. Does web browsing use a lot of battery in general?
I typically use about 16-20% of battery for every 1 hour of screen time, so yeah your running about normal to a lower than normal drain level.
I try everything to save batterylife. Using the browser sadly is a good way to see your phone's battery life dissapear. Especially when browsing forums with white backgrounds.
I tend to agree with the other comments here. I usually see about 10% drain per hour of screen on when not doing anything data/processor intensive (i.e. reading an ebook) while my normal data is syncing in the background. I'd expect this to be improved if I turned data and radios off, but probably only by a percent or 2.
With more processor and data intensive stuff like browsing or watching movies, I would guess this would increase some. Extrapolating your data out would give you roughly 14% drain for an hour and 10 minutes of screen on with 20 minutes of browsing. Seems reasonable to me.

(Discussion And Feedback) POCO F1

Hi Everyone.
From Last 8-9 Days I'm Facing Heating ISSUE in My Poco F1 ROSSO RED 6+64 GB.
In Normal Usage Battery Temperature Gone To 40 Degrees And While Playing Games Like PUBG Battery Temperature Is 45-46 Degrees.
I Tried A Factory Reset Formated All My Data
Clean Flash.
Tried With Other Kernals Tried With Custom Rom But Same Problem Battery Heating issue.
Where is The Liquid Cooling.
Other Phones like OnePlus 6 You Can Play PUBG While Charging The Device But Never Face Heating ISSUE.
PoCo F1 Comes With Liquid Cooling.
But Heating ISSUE Is A Very Big Problem For Me.
I Saw On Mi Community. Users Also Facing Same Problem.
Is There Any Fix For This Problem.
Provide Your Feedback HERE.
maybe because of thermal profile of miui. i think thermal profile is the cause of this..

with Normal Usage Like YouTube WhatsApp Phone calls Battery Temperature is 40 Degree.
Snapdragon 845 Easily handle This.
Cpu temperature is Normal but battery temperature is high.
I flashed stock thermals but didn't work.
Liquid cooling was for the CPU, not for the battery.
(Look at the video of JerryRigsEverything's teardown video on Pocophone F1)
The normal working temps for the Lipo battery (Lithium Polymer Battery) which Pocophone F1 has, is -20°c to 60°c during discharge but when recharging, you should have temps around 0°c to 45°c so it is better to charge it IDLE, not charging it while gaming.
The effects when charging it while using it or like doing heavy task will sometimes discharging it while charging (thermal throttling) when above 45°c and disables the Quick Charge feature.
I've tested it myself. So you should not use your Phone while charging unless you use it for light usage while charging (Browsing FB, watching memes on 9Gag, etc.)
Conclusion:
Yes, 40°c in normal usage is normal and 45-46°c is good.
Just don't charge it while gaming.
I didn't charge the phone while Playing games.
Temperature Gone 45 Degrees.
But first when I got this poco F1 never facing heating issue.
I think it's related to vendor.
Remove back cover or any type of pouches then use

Already Tried not too much difference.
Now This Vendor 9.1.24 is Outdated.
I tried with 9.4.1 battery temperature 46 while playing games.
Always stay at 40 Degree.
Hope Xiaomi Will Fix This Very Irritating issue.
Edit-
I am using 9.4.12 miui EU with arter97 r4 kernel heating issue completely gone.
In latest update heating issue coming again.
45-46 while playing games.
Always stay on 40 degree.

Help: Battery Consumption

Hi. Been using my RN9S/Pro for the past 4 days and I feel that my battery consumption is too much. When I got the phone I have charged the device 4 times already with minimal use. I charge when it reaches below 15-20% till 80-90%. I did some test. 1 hour of playing a game called Dragon Raja. It runs on Unreal Engine 4. Medium Setting(no HFR mode). Brightness set to full. From 86% to 72%. Did another test. 3 hours of browsing(purely browsing-no social media app or video app opened) via chrome mostly online shopping with brightness set 10-15%. From 94% to 81%. After browsing went to sleep and left phone on idle not connected to wifi/mobile data no wake screen notification as well. From 81% to 74% idle consumption. Is that normal? I'm seeing reviews of overnight idle consumption with either mobile data or wifi ON around 1-3% and gaming for 3 hours consumed 20-30%(pubgm, codm, mobile legends).
Note: When I got the phone what I did is to master reset it. Installed the App I needed(fb, messenger, twitter, spotify, asphalt 9 and dragon raja). Disabled auto brightness and set it to 10-15%. Uninstall all other apps that phone will let me. Tests were done on separate days.
that is pretty normal , max i can get while gaming was 6 hours on pubg smooth hd + 60fps using gfx tools , I already switched to custom gsi rom and the battery here is a lot better than stock i can tell but still haven't try for gaming. And one more thing, game like dragon raja consume alot of batteries because the cpu and gpu basically run at full throttle. Used to play on oneplus 7t and i can tell that game consumed alot more battery on that device.
Thank you for the reply. How about the idle consumption? Is it normal? I did another idle test for 3 hours from 74% to 71%. Wifi and mobile data off no notifications as well. Seems kinda off coz the reviews ive seen is again 1-3% overnight with either wifi/mobile data ON. I did have it in dark mode to save battery and every app that has dark mode on as well. Not sure if something is wrong with the battery. Im worried coz the replacement date is almost due.
Overnight, with airplane mode and battery saver on,I'm getting 2% drain over about 8 hours
Slept for 7 hours. Phone not connected to wifi or mobile data. Battery saver off. Drained 6%. Is that even normal? Or am I just being paranoid? Or am I facing battery issues?

dark mode only makes a difference to amoled type panels. lcd ips etc wont make a difference in dark mode.

Question Battery life

Hello, I recently acquired the red magic 7 supernova, and I would like to know your experience regarding the battery issue, I obviously use it to play, and playing games such as genshin, 60 fps high graphics (not at its maximum) consumes almost 40% Battery in 30 min, that is ok? I do streams and I use only for games and daily use. I end up charging it about 3-4 times a day, would that be a problem or could something be wrong with my battery?
The smartphone consumes little both in Active and idle, this in normal use, during the game has high performance and three different power management settings, if you use balanced and 60hz it lasts you slightly longer. It is advisable to use charge separation to exploit it to its full potential for long gaming sessions.

You can always play on a charger with "charging separation " and you want lose battery
