Sim unlocking Sprint LG wing - LG Wing Guides, News, & Discussion

So i have found a glitch or work around to sim unlocking a Sprint LG Wing using a T-Mobile sim card....Use at your own discretion!!!!!!!!
I am in no way responsible if your device messes up!
First, you need to have a sprint account and you need to be using a T-Mobile sim!
Instructions:
-Login to your sprint account
-Go to your devices
-Go to edit nickname
-Change the nickname (i changed mine to my name)
-Save nickname and is should say something like " it may take a few minutes for the changes to show"
-Now go to you phone and go to Settings>Network&Internet>Mobile Networks>Network Unlock>Permanent Unlock
-Success!
Disclaimer: This will mess up your sim card! you will need to go to a T-Mobile store and get a new sim! But after that it is still unlocked!

[Q] Question on unlcoking with code

From my understanding, once you get the code to a phone.
If my phone is a T-Mobile based phone do I,
Put the SIM card of the carrier that I plan on using the phone with -in my case it's WindMobile.
...and then enter the unlock code?
Or do I put an entirely different SIM (not TMobiles, not WindMobile) card in the phone from a 3rd carrier and enter the code and once entered turn the phone off, put MY carrier's SIM card in and power the phone on?
Anyone?
I just got my codes, kinda, sorta (not really, but I am) anxious to get my Vibrant going here.
Thanks.
Thanks.
So, doing it through the dialer, I got "Not registered on network" .
Will move to Vibrant specific fora...they'll help you
lol thanks Mod
Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?
The T-Mobile code given is giving us a "network unlock unsuccessful" prompt after we enter the code they gave us.
The IMEI is right, so... dunno...

Unlock Instructions with Carrier Provided Code

MetroPCS emailed me the unlock codes finally but they did not give me any instruction. When I google instructions I get a lot of spam sites trying to sell me code, Hope someone here could help.
easiest method:
pull out your SIM card and put in an non supported SIM card... if you are locked to metroPCS than anything else like T-Mobile, AT&T etc, doesnt need to be working in service card even..
a box will pop out informing you that a non-supported SIM has been inserted and to enter a code if you want to unlock the phone.
put i the code they send you in the field and press "OK"
this is just a one time thing, once you do that, your phone will remain unlocked even of you factory reset it or update the firmware/OS or you install a diferend ROM.

sim unlock code prompt on every reboot and no svc

Been trying to get this sorted for my kid, any help is appreciated as it was a bday gift and its been early 3 weeks
used tmob G530-T
rooted
RR ROM / Nougat [ROM][7.1.2_r17]Resurrection Remix-N 5.8.3 For Grand Prime[OFFICIAL][G530H-W-T-T1-FZ]
unlocked via doctorSIM (accepts code)
testing w my ATT sim
2 issues.
1. on every reboot prompts for sim unlock code via generic dialog box
2. no cellular service - via chat ATT activated the existing SIM w IMEI of new phone and existing sim. Went to APN area in settings and tried to manually enter ATT settings but after save said 'customization not available for this user'. Have not tried the Wifi first trick but I can enter a new APN but settings does not stick.
Assume the sim setting would be auto configured. using the select network provider it cannot activate on ATT (my ATT sim on a work account)
try a different rom or the unlock code is bad?
TIA
anyone?

How to get to "Enter Unlock Code" screen, when running Lollipop 5.1?

Hi all,
I have a Huawei Mate 2 from Freedom (Wind) Mobile. I have updated it to Lollipop 5.1 by unlocking the bootloader. In fact I made a guide for it a while back.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-mate2/general/guide-step-step-wind-mobile-canada-t3387490
Recently in Canada the cellular service providers are forced by law to give us an unlock code for free. After unlocking the phone would work with any service provider. This phone has a pretty big battery and would be ideal for a travel or backup phone.
I successfully got an unlock code from Freedom (which was pretty easy). I then put in sim cards from another provider (Koodo, Fido, etc). However the screen for me to enter the unlock code never popped up. It just say "no service".
I tried to manually set it up, by clicking the notification. "No Service: Selected network (Telus 3G) unavailable". However it won't register. Neither did the unlock code entering screen ever pop up.
And under data settings it say no SIM card. However the phone works perfectly when I insert my Freedom SIM card. But when a foreign SIM card was inserted it just say no SIM.
My question is has anyone been able to unlock this phone under Lollipop 5.1? How did you get to the "Enter Unlock Code" screen?
I also wonder if anyone has any luck unlocking with the original Android 4.3. If someone did, maybe I should flash the phone back to its original OS.
Thanks in advance!

LG-H932 unlocked with device unlock will not carrier unlock - Help

I have a tmobile lg v30 that was unlocked with device unlock tool... used it for a year on att. Then I went to xfinity mobile with an Iphone. Put the v30 away for a month.
Was gonna give to my friend to use on tmobile. When you put a tmobile sim card in it will not connect to any network. Will not work with att sim now either. Tmobile says its carrier locked and they
cannot unlock it now. ????? Says I have to get the original carrier to unlock it... They are the original carrier. Device unlock "when you try Permanent unlock says" Unlock Failed Unlock Approved : Mobile device is permanently unlocked.
When you try Temp unlock it says Unlock Failed Unlock Approved : Mobile device is temporarily unlocked until 02-Aug-2019.
When you put tmobile sim in the apn is there but you cannot edit or add apn.
When your put any other sim in the apn is empty and you cannot add apn.
Phone is on Android version 7.1.2

If it's a T-Mobile H932 and you want to use it on T-Mobile, why does it need to be carrier unlocked?
If it won't work on T-Mobile, have T-Mobile repair it
It's not a carrier unlocking issue, at least if you want to use it on T-Mobile..
Because it’s not on an account now and T-Mobile says it needs to be network unlocked. Before they can add it back to their network.

T-Mobile H832 does NOT need to be carrier unlocked to work on T-Mobile, since it's a T-Mobile device.
If they are telling you that they're lying or they don't understand what you're asking. Maybe you confused them with unnecessary details about your attempt to carrier unlock it in the past.
Stop mentioning that to them and focus on it's T-Mobile device that needs to work on T-Mobile, period. And they need to replace it or repair it if it doesn't.
If some incompetent support person doesn't understand that, then go to another store or make another phone call.

Just to be crystal clear here,
are you sure about that? Is there something you're not telling us?
We ARE talking about T-Mobile H932 and not Puerto Rico H932, right? You BOUGHT it from T-Mobile, right?
If the answer is yes, it's T-Mobile H932, then this statement stands:
T-Mobile H832 does NOT need to be carrier unlocked to work on T-Mobile, since it's a T-Mobile device.
You need to find competent support person and do NOT mention anything about carrier unlocking to them... until the phone is working on T-Mobile with no problem.
THEN, you can ask them about carrier unlocking it to work on other carriers.
