[Guide] LG Wing Demo Conversion - LG Wing Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi, everyone, I recently got an old demo Wing and decided to try seeing if I could remove the software restrictions (charge limit, etc). I originally intended to use it as a media device, but after successfully flashing retail firmware found that it could be used as an actual phone! I pieced this together using a bunch of posts and guides for various phones, but figured I'd share what worked for me here. I've only tested the unlocked Korean firmware on my unit, though others have supposedly used Verizon or T-Mobile firmware.
REQUIREMENTS:
Android Debug Bridge (ADB)
LG Mobile Driver (select universal)
LGUP terminal flash
Firmware - I used the Korean unlocked linked here, but in theory any KDZ for the Wing should work.
Before starting, uninstall the retail mode app and sign out of any google accounts on the device.
REMOVING DEMO MODE:
NOTE: This section should probably work on most recent LG demo devices. If it works for you, please let me know!
Step 1: Install the LG mobile driver on your computer.
Step 2: Extract the contents of the ADB .zip file.
Step 3: Power on the phone and enable developer mode. It's the same as any other phone (go to Settings > About > Software Info and tap on "Build Number" until it says "You are now a developer!), however you may be prompted for a password. The default password is L310MC570G.
Step 4: In the developer options, enable USB debugging.
Step 5: Connect the phone to your computer. Make sure that it’s set to “charge only” and not “media sync” or anything else in the notification. It should prompt you to allow your computer to access the phone for debugging when you connect it.
Step 6: On your computer, open a terminal in the ADB folder. Type ".\adb.exe devices" (no quotatations) and the phone should show up in there. If that works, type ".\adb.exe shell"
Step 7: Enter the command "am start -S com.android.settings/.Settings\$DeviceAdminSettingsActivity" to open the Device Administrators menu. Uncheck Retail Mode.
Step 8: Enter the command "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.lge.retailmode" to remove retail mode.
Step 9: Restart the phone and you should be good to go. This doesn't remove the charging limit or cellular restrictions, but it removes most of the annoying demo stuff.
FLASHING:
NOTE: This is for the LG Wing only. Some devices like the Velvet may work, but others (such as the V60) reportedly brick if you try to flash stock firmware. Attempt at your own risk.
Step 1: Install the LG mobile driver on your computer if you haven't already.
Step 2: Extract the LGUP flash utility and place it in your C:\ directory. Ensure the filepath is C:\LGUP-FLASH-Utility\[Contents of folder], otherwise it will not work.
Step 3: Copy your firmware (.kdz) file to the LGUP-FLASH-Utility folder.
Step 4: Put your phone into download mode. To do this, power off the phone and connect it to your computer while holding the volume up button.
Step 5: Run LGUP-FLASH-Utility.exe.
Step 6: Pick option 1. Find the COM port number the phone is using- the program and documentation should indicate which you need.
Step 7: After finding this, press enter to return to the menu and select option 2.
Step 8: Enter the port number again. Don't type "COM," just the port number itself.
Step 9: Follow the prompts to select the proper file. You'll need to type the full name.
Step 10: If all goes well, the program should start flashing the firmware. Leave it be until the program says it is complete, even if it appears to boot into Android. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes.
Step 11: If all goes well, you should now have a much more usable LG Wing. Disconnect and enjoy!
What works:
-SIM card/modem (data, call and text all work fine)
-Full battery capacity
-Unless it's in the other section, it's safe to assume it probably works!
What doesn't work:
-Fingerprint sensor
Other notes:
-The Korean firmware is what I flashed, and it works fine. However, this post seems to indicate that you can flash the stock Verizon firmware and then T-Mobile firmware. I haven't tested this.
-There's an error when starting the phone, but it doesn't affect its functionality.
-At times, I've had SMS/calling stop working, but toggling airplane mode on and off seems to fix it.
Edit: Changed firmware link to the exact file I used (F100N11b_00_COM_KR_OP_0119.kdz)
Edit 2: I've been using this phone for around 2 months now as my daily driver with no major issues since flashing the stock firmware

Ok but how can i uninstall the demo mode app at the first place? The guide is interesting but i guess you should include that as well

There's a bunch of guides online you can follow, but I've added how to do this to the post.

So i was successfully able to remove the demo mode, but when i try to flash using LGUP (after doing all the steps) it shows "Flash done" but nothing changes
Any idea what's wrong? I downloaded everything from this guide
Thanks in advance

Double check that your files are extracted in the proper place. The LGUP-FLASH-Utility folder should be in your C: directory and the files should be inside it. It should look something like this (I'm using Windows 11, but the folder layout should be the same).

Odd. Looks like you've done everything right otherwise. I'm not sure what could be causing the DLL error- try completely reinstalling everything (driver, redownload + install the flash utilty, etc), or even try it on a different computer. You might have to experiment a bit and change a few things to see what works.

There are three types of firmware for three korean cellular networks: KTF, SKT and LGT. Which one did you choose?

The exact firmware file name was F100N11b_00_COM_KR_OP_0119.kdz

Starting now the download but amazing post!

I don't have a Demo wing *yet* but there's a chance at getting some at work
If someone wants to try this, go for it, as this worked on a Google Pixel 6 Pro Android 12 that was MDM locked
If you can enable USB debugging, enable it, plug into your computer, use ADB to disable Google Play Services, go to user profiles and create a second profile, use that profile, enable Play Services and the device works with no MDM/Demo restrictions

Yo, thanks for putting this together man! This is huge! I was able to flash mine and get it working. I figured out you can get an IMEI in the service menu (for development purposes only) I'm on the Korean firmware that you listed in the guide, but I want to try and get it on the TMobile firmware since that's the carrier I have and I want to see if it will have wifi calling. I wasn't able to flash the TMobile file the other day but I will try a few other firmwares and see what I can do. I noticed on the Korean one, you can't update through settings and I'm not sure why. This thing will be totally legit if I can get it on the newest TMobile firmware with wifi calling and OTA updates for when the wing gets android 11. The last thing we need is to figure out how to get the fingerprint scanner working!

Let me know if you make any progress! I've also been trying to get T-Mobile on mine, but so far no luck.

I saw someone said something about resetting the finger print sensor to have it work. It turns on on mine but doesn't scan. I can't find the post now about "resetting it". Its like the discussion threads on this topic were deleted

I think you're referring to this post.
OP says that you can go to the hidden menu (#*462633*#100#) and go to SVC Menu > Fingerprint > Enable. The thing is, that doesn't exist on the Wing. The only thing I see in SVC Menu is Handprint > HandID Logging on/off. Because that setting only deals with logging, it obviously doesn't enable the optical fingerprint scanner. After poking around in the service menu some more, I haven't been able to find any other way of enabling it.
The only thing of some significance OP mentioned was a way to test the the fingerprint scanner. You can go to Device Test > SAAT > Service Menu - Manual Test > Optical FingerPrint Test and go through the test from there. Every time I run it, the test fails and I get the following results:
Exposure Time: PASS
Bad Block: FAIL
Finger Effect Area: FAIL
Signal: PASS
Noise: FAIL
M-Facotry: PASS
Data Save: FAIL
OP said that if it fails after enabling it that means it worked. That doesn't make much sense though.
Hopefully some day soon we'll be able to get this sensor working.

Its entirely possible we don't have the fingerprint scanner at all. Demo devices, they sometimes leave hardware out of them. Samsungs are usually missing modems
Other thing I'm confused by... My IMEI is 0. I've seen people say, including this post, that mobile data and such work after doing this

That is very true too. But based on the fact that the demo units have the functioning 5G modem and the full 256GB of storage, it would honestly surprise me if they didn’t have a functioning scanner.
As for the IMEI, I’m assuming those people have changed the default IMEI and generated a new one. Based on other discussion threads on XDA, it appears to be frowned upon / illegal in some countries to discuss how to change the IMEI. All I can say is that it is possible, just hidden. If you’ve gotten to the point that you’re modifying a demo device like this, you’re probably the type that’s willing to poke around menus you’re not supposed to be in, so it shouldn’t be too hard to figure it out.

Oh I've poked around lol but even this tutorial states "data worked after flashing" which mine didn't, which is why I asked
I know with normal LGUp Tool, you can do PDM and modify the IMEI, or you can do ChipErase via LGUp_CMD but I can't figure out how to do optional commands with lg cmd since it doesn't really tell you and no one online seems to have a tutorial for anymore than the basics of
Code:
lgup_cmd com DLL KDZ
options go at the end, but doesn't seem to matter what I put there

Hey, thanks so much for putting this together! I'm running into an issue where it says to do a ChipErase D/L. Any ideas?

This is due to the firmware you're flashing. For the demo conversion, you have to do the Korean firmware first, then to do something like Verizon, you need the LGUP 1.16 tool from my other post, use ChipErase in that tool and it'll flash just fine. You have to wipe the partition that checks variation, which is what chip erase is for

[GUIDE] [UNBRICK][ROOT] FLASH Any LG L9 Factory ROM (kdz) WITH OFFLINE FIX

Thanks to all developers and contributors: Bin4ry , adixtra , unknown_world. I thank to all the users of this thread who gave feedback and reported issues time to time, which helped "us" to make this guide better and perfect.
First thing first, this is not my original work, I have just tried to consolidate all the scattered things together for SAFE and EASY flashing and rooting of L9 variants. Written this guide as many pals were having issues with OFFLINE KDZ FLASHING and help was scattered in many pages creating more confusion.
Wow! After so much of followup with xda mods, finally we got Home (Sub-Forum) for LG L9 series.
PLEASE, USE INFO AT YOUR OWN RISK & INTELLIGENCE.
Flashing KDZ removes Root and CWM, so you will need to root again.
Flashing KDZ does not wipe your data, but if you get bootloops you need to hard-reset it, so please backup data first.
LG Update Tool works on all versions of windows (xp/w7/w8-32/64bit) for flashing any version of Android (GB/ICS/JB). If it does not work on your windows, something is missing on your system and if anyone here cannot help you then, you have find your own ways. Don't expect Spoon-feeding for everything.
DEVICES FLASHED WITH THIS GUIDE AND TESTED OK: LG Optimus 2x (P990) and LG Optimus L9 (P76?)

[GUIDE] FLASH L9 Factory ICS/JB ROM WITH OFFLINE FIX + UNBRICK
Works perfect on Win-XP/W7/W8 32bit/64bit. UNBRICKS ALL SOFT-BRICKED L9 (P760/765/P768/P769)
TRUST ME THIS IS NOT LENGTHY PROCESS, I JUST HAVE PUT THEM IN EASY STEPS FOR COMPLETE NOOB PERSON. EXPERTS PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM COMMENTING HARSH ON ME.
THIS METHOD IS ALWAYS FASTER THAN ONLINE WITH PC SUITE, WHICH DOWNLOADS HUGE FILE ONLINE AND YOU NEED TO WAIT UNTIL IT FINISHES DOWNLOADING IN THE MIDDLE OF FLASHING.
In first part of this Guide, we are creating a Local Web-Server for LG Support Tool and will try everything which will PREVENT the tool to connect to real LG server over internet. We have to create SMALL SERVER on our own system and redirect tool to this webpage.
FIRST DOWNLOAD YOUR OWN OFFICIAL KDZ (LG ROM) FILE FROM MY ROM COLLECTION PAGE or from anywhere and proceed...
0) Precautions:
___A) Select "Debugging Mode" as ON (Ticked) in Phone Settings (Developer Section)
___B) Select "Install from Unknown Sources" as ON (Ticked) in Phone Settings (Security Section)
___C) Indian version of L9 does not come with "Lookout Security Antivirus" already installed. But KDZ from other countries may have it already installed, FORCE CLOSE AND UNINSTALL it from app manager. If you cannot uninstall, at least DISABLE it. This program is known to be preventing connection and rooting of device.
___D) Remove all other USB devices (external hdd, backup drives, other phones, etc) and cables connected to PC to avoid issued due to voltage loss. (example)
___E) OFFLINE KDZ FLASHING DOES NOT LOOSE PHONE DATA, BUT YOU MUST BACKUP YOUR PHONE IN ANY CASE.
1) Find NOTEPAD program from StartMenu of Windows and Right Click on it and run it with "Run as Administrator" option. Remember use "Run as Administrator" while opening, otherwise you will not be able to save it after changes.
Now you need to open "HOSTS" file located in folder "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\" with following method.
Click File Menu >>> Open File >>> Now copy-paste following in "Open File" Box.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Click to collapse
Please note the opened file name is only "hosts" and does not have file-extension like txt or anything.
When file is opened, add following lines at bottom of "hosts" file, a file with no extension like txt/doc/xls.
127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com
Click to collapse
Now SAVE file and Close it.
Content of Hosts file looks like this sample file. Close this file , because we may not need it after this point.
AND RESTART PC NOW (check if lines are still there after Restart. They should be there.)
2) INSTALLING SMALL SERVER: Download "shttps.zip" (attached below) and Extract the Zipped folder "shttps" in root of C-drive of your computer.
Now Right click on "C:\shttps\http.exe" file and "Run As Administrator" and in Windows Compatibility Mode with "WindowsXP SP3" (must for Win7/8) , a server status window will open "MINIMIZE IT BUT DONT CLOSE IT" and you will also see a SMALL SERVER icon in TASKBAR, like mentioned below.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

If you don't see a GIRL, something is wrong. Start again.
COMING TO ACTUAL FLASH PROCESS.
3) Download (attached) and Extract "KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip" and save the folder on desktop or any suitable place on your hard-disk.
4) Optional if "MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser" is already installed before: Install it by finding and installing "msxml.msi" file in flash folder.
5A) Optional if "B2CAppClient" is already installed before: Internet Must be ON and Right-Click on B2CAppSetup.exe and Run As Administrator. If not installed before, it will download a setup file, will install it and open "LGMOBILE SUPPORT TOOL" box as shown below. Without doing anything just close this box because we will install latest LG Universal Android driver manually in next step.
5B) Optional if "LG Android USB Driver" is already installed before: Install latest "LG USB Driver (Download 4.0.4 here)" Remember your Phone is not connected yet.
NOW YOU ARE ALL SET AND READY TO FLASH
6) Never installed JellyBean before and with Locked Bootloader? Then Connect Phone in Software Upgrade Mode: Switch OFF the phone and Press VolumeUP button and insert USB cable into phone, Now phone should show SW Upgrade Mode.
Let windows load any drivers, wait until it finishes. TWO ENTRIES SHOULD APPEAR IN DEVICE MANAGER IF DRIVERS ARE PROPERLY INSTALLED, LIKE THIS SCREENSHOT or this screenshot. (ignore detected entries in following screenshot, they will be different every time)
Post-JB issue: If you have installed JellyBean before, Phone may not go in "Software Upgrade Mode" or Flashing stops at 14% in 11th step.
Then do this WORKAROUND: Keep the Phone POWERED ON with USB connected and on "LG Software" mode and do next step of flashing KDZ with Update tool and the phone will automatically go in software upgrade mode.

7) Execute "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe" with "Run As Administrator" option and in Windows Compatibility Mode with "WindowsXP SP3" (must for Win7/8) >> and Select your KDZ file. Select "3GQCT" in Type of Flash and select "EMERGENCY" for PhoneMode. Ignore all other options and press "NORMAL WEB UPGRADE TEST" at bottom. This button is very light and hard to see at first attempt.
IMPORTANT: Do not change names of the KDZ files from LG server or downloaded from my this and this page. (They should look like.... "V10G_00.kdz" or other version in same style.)
8) Now "Read Phone Information" box will open with blank information, Just press "Upgrade Start"
9) A small box at bottom-right side may appear like below, which you may "ignore" or "cancel"
10) Now "Select country and language" small box will open. Here select "Different Country" and "English" and press "OK".
11) Now actual flashing will start and PHONE UPDATE TOOL (shown below) will appear, and if your KDZ file is good flashing will end without any issue.
JUST RELAX!! SIT BACK WITH HANDS FOLDED BEHIND HEAD AND WATCH IT HAPPENING.
When it finishes full flashing and phone will start rebooting.
YOU CAN REMOVE CABLE AFTER 100%, AND FLASHING IS FINISHED!!! Close all programs.
FLASHING ERROR AT THIS POINT? If you have installed JB before then your flashing may stop at 4% to 14%. This may be due JB rom already installed before or due to driver not completely installed for "SW Upgrade Mode".
WORKAROUND: Cancel flashing by exiting LG Update Tool. Phone should be still in SW Upgrade Mode, Remove USB Cable, wait 10 seconds, Insert USB cable again and let all drivers install for this mode. The device manager should look LIKE THIS SCREENSHOT. START AGAIN FROM STEP 6 (Read about Post-JB Issue)

BOOTLOOPS? STUCK AT LG LOGO? : Dont worry!!! If you were on CM and flashed JB or vice versa or your data partition is not matching with new partitions, then your phone may get BOOTLOOPS on LG Logo.
HARD-RESET to solve it (Press VolDown, Home and Power all together) You will loose data, dont worry, before starting you took BACKUP and I am sure about it. Phone should start normally. (Click for correct method of HARDRESET)
You're done!!! Phone is FLASHED!!!
12) Remove lines we added from HOSTS file mentioned above. Do it now!!! Dont complaint later that LG KDZ download links are not working. LOLZ
IMP NOTE: This is also called OFFLINE FOTA and all your Phone Settings, DATA on internal card and external card and also the installed APPLICATIONS will remain as it is. Enjoy!!
TROUBLESHOOTING, IN CASE OF ANY ISSUES: Check following workarounds.
Uninstall LG Driver, RESTART PC and then REINSTALL DRIVER before connecting phone to pc.
Run B2CAppSetup.exe and let it download and install LG Support Tool. After it opens just close it because it will not be needed later.
After Adding lines in HOSTS file, confirm if file is saved or not and then RESTART PC to see the added lines are there or not. This is to be done after first step is done.
Sometimes the downloaded file could be corrupted too. Do fresh download when your internet connection is good.
"Microsoft Security Essential" (Antivirus+Firewall) falsely recognizes "C:\shttps\http.exe" as virus (false alarm) and blocks it. Either allow it to execute or Get RID of this Antivirus.
....and try again with next procedure.

Rooting ICS ON LG OPTIMUS L9 (OLD BIN4RY METHOD) Only for ICS.
Thanks to Bin4ry who gave us this FIRST Working L9 Rooting Method.
1) Download and Flash Rootable ICS KDZ: It is known that this Root works on V10A for all L9 Models. Root works on V10C on P765. Root works on V10E on P769 (No Rom available, V10E comes from factory). Root works on V10A of P768.
At the moment Rooting does not work on higher versions of Roms, hence you will need to downgrade by flashing Rootable KDZ. Find Download Links of Rootable KDZ in this thread and please read related information carefully. This tutorial was made after testing with Indian V10C KDZ for P765.
2) Download "RootBinary.zip" (attached) and Extract to D-drive on your pc. You will find a new Folder "D:\RootBinary" and some files inside it.
3) Precautions:
___A) Select "Debugging Mode" as ON (Ticked) in Phone Settings (Developer Section)
___B) Select "Install from Unknown Sources" as ON (Ticked) in Phone Settings (Security Section)
___C) Indian version of L9 does not come with "Lookout Security Antivirus" already installed. But KDZ from other countries may have it already installed, FORCE CLOSE AND UNINSTALL it from app manager. If you cannot uninstall, at least DISABLE it. This program is known to be preventing connection and rooting of device.
4) Install Drivers "LG USB Driver (Download 4.0.4 here)"
5) Connect Phone to PC with USB in "MTP" mode, let all drivers install for detected hardware items, then in "Charge Only" Mode, let all drivers install, then in "PTP" mode and let all drivers install, LASTLY connect in "LG SOFTWARE" Mode and let all drivers install. (confirmed by this user too)
(Installing drivers in MTP, PTP and Charge Only is necessary, it does not take too much time. Just do it. It may save your time, as your rooting process will not stop for any unknown reason at any point)
6) Keep phone in "LG SOFTWARE" Mode and wait until it is connected. Now at this moment Device Manager should show 3 entries like this. If not, flashing will not work.
7) Now Open "Command Prompt" on pc with "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" option. (Type cmd in startmenu and when "command prompt" appears, right click on it and run it as Administrator)
8) Type "D:" and Press Enter key. And then type "CD \RootBinary" at Command Prompt and enter in directory, to show "D:\RootBinary>" in command prompt where your root files are present.
9) This is optional but its good to check if your Phone is connected to PC or not. Always better to confirm it. Type following command in command prompt box "stuff\adb devices" (all lower case) and press enter. Now Command Prompt should show the line showing the Device ID of connected device. (see image)
10) Now type and enter main rooting command "RUNME" (executes RunMe.bat) and then Select 1 for Normal Mode Rooting. Now look at Phone you will be asked if you want to RESTORE DATA, press "RESTORE MY DATA" button on Phone.
11) The Phone will reboot twice automatically and that is normal, press key on computer when prompted
12) YOU WILL SEE A LINE SAYING YOUR PHONE IS ROOTED. Go and check in phone app list, if icon of "SuperSU" is present or not. If yes you are ROOTED (Now install CWM in next step).
SIMPLE TEST: When you install and open (run) AdAway, then SuperSU will stop you and ask for permission to open. VOILA!!! Thats the sign of rooted android. Its done! Enjoy
13) IMPORTANT: Above only plain rooting and does not install CWM (ClockWorkMod). Now you need to install CWM Recovery Installer by Artas182x to use CWM.
ALL SCREENSHOTS ADDED.... Please check all carefully.
PROBLEM? If Bin4ry's rooting file is not working then, you can try same by replacing with Zanakorus33's Batch file, instead of "RunMe.bat" file by Bin4ry. Thanks to Zanakorus33 and Mingkee.

Workaround A) You may think, you have just killed it, but HEY, Wait, Relax. Even I got this issue when I flashed Prada Apk for CWM and then reflashed.
FORCE SWITCH OFF: First press Power Button for 10 seconds, phone will turn off, like laptops turn off with same trick. Then restart phone and see if it starts normally. If no then you need to do hard reset as mentioned below.
HARD RESET: Remove the Battery and insert it after few seconds. And now do the 3 button HARD RESET. First press VOLUMEDOWN and HOMEbutton. Then Press Power button only for 3 seconds and release power button but dont release VolDown and Home button and KEEP BOTH PRESSING until you see a Bigger Green Standing Android and circulating Molecular structure above it. DONE! Your Android should boot now and will be back in action. ALL DATA AND APPS WILL BE WIPED, BUT HEY IT GETS ITS LIFE BACK and LIFE'S GOOD.
Workaround B) You might have issue with bootloader or CWM installation error, JUST FLASH KDZ AFRESH and you will again see above screen after finishing, Just Repeat Workaround A, hard-reset it immediately. (I had to do this at least thrice, and everytime it came back ) Thats why they call it, LG DEVICES ARE UNBRICKABLE. A completely ignored feature which wins above all.
-------------------------------------------
Q) What is KDZ? Sorry I am first time on XDA with new LG Phone.
A) Welcome to XDA, Like we install Windows XP or 7 on pc, every phone needs Operating System too to function. Phones also need this OS and its Drivers to be installed and functioning. The OS files here are generally called "FIRMWARE" or "ROM" files. The company LG bundles whole OS, Drivers and other supporting files and applications, into one single huge file and they gave it a file-extension name as "KDZ". The regular updates of OS are also released by manufacturers either via download or directly in device via 3G or WiFi which is also called FOTA (Firmware Over The Air). Here in this thread we are talking about flashing (clean install) of the KDZ on phone, which should actually be done by LG Service Centres only and not us. But well these days everyone is doing that with the help of helpful tips and apps given by experts on XDA. Hope some things are clear here.
Size of KDZ file: Generally KDZ files for LG L9 are around 480+MB to 600MB for ICS version. For Optimus 2x the KDZ file is around 300MB (GB) to 600MB (ICS). Hope this helps too.
-------------------------------------------
Q) Well, I could successfully Root my phone, but how to install CWM?
A) Working CWM 6.x by Artas182x is here. Read instructions carefully.
-------------------------------------------
Q) After installing CWM by Artas182x, how to go Recovery Mode (in CWM menu)? Could not go by pressing Power button while pressing VolumeDown. (Why LEDS on phone blink rapidly while rebooting phone?)
A) That method is wrong for CWM. The correct method is Switch On phone with single power button and release it. When LG logo appears in a moment LEDS start blinking, quickly press and release VolDown button, you will be now in CWM menu.
-------------------------------------------
Q) After Rooting on V10C, can I update to latest ROM, keeping device ROOTed?
A) Not directly by upgrading via OTA (Air). BUT YES at some extent you can do it for some models. There is a thread by me with Collection of Rooted CWM Backups for various models. Read thread carefully for details. While writing this (on 24-Feb) I am on Rooted P765V10G due to the CWM Backup sent by another user DarkFable.
-------------------------------------------
Q) How to start L9 phone in SW Upgrade Mode and connect to PC?
A) Connect USB cable to PC but do not connect to Phone. If phone is on, Switch it OFF. While Pressing VolumeUP button and insert USB cable into phone and keep pressing the button, let windows load any drivers (if required), wait until it finishes. Phone will show SW Upgrade Mode screen (SEE IMAGE) and you can release the button.
-------------------------------------------
Q) I am not able to Root my P765/P768/P769/P760? What could be wrong?
A) Everything to ROOT L9 is available in this thread, read carefully and do as instructed.
This tutorial was made after successful and easy flashing of India V10C Rom and Rooting P765 on it. You can find download link from second post above for matching V10A for your variant. You can download and flash roms released for other countries too, as most of them will have English (US) as a common language.
A user could Root P760V10A and using Voodoo, updated to [V10E on OTA] and Restored Root with V10E. Will not work with offline flash method.
-------------------------------------------
Q) Can we OverClock L9?
A) I have not tried but yes, someone already did OVERCLOCKED L9 to 1.3GHz here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34192656
-------------------------------------------
Q) Where can I find official KDZ ROM for flashing for my device?
A) You can visit my OFFICIAL ROM LINKER page , enter your IMEI and find your own latest ROM available to Download. Works for any LG Android SmartPhone. Or you can visit this page for old Official KDZ for any device any country.
-------------------------------------------
Q) What if I HARDBRICK my phone and it never recover back?
A) According to this post, one of our L9 expert artas182x who says, "For now our L9 is unbrickable, because we haven't got access to recovery.img and boot.img and we can try many methods to port CM9 or CM10 without hard brick." And that is fact, so lets relax at the moment.
-------------------------------------------
Q) How to extract bootloader (boot.img) and recovery (recovery.img )_from any phone or KDZ?
A) There is very good procedure explained here by AngryWolf80. Please read and click THANKS button for him.
EDIT: Worked perfect on PC with ADB SHELL. (Hint: Give "su" command first)
-------------------------------------------
Q) How to Run As Administrator? Where we find this command?
A) Please Google it. (trust me someone asked me this recently, well good news, not on xda )
-------------------------------------------
Q) How to start Service Menu (Hidden Menu) on L9?
A) To use Service Menu or Hidden Menu type 3845#*760# and call you will get Service Menu. This example is for 760, but you can enter 765 for P765 and so on. Dont actually mess with options as these are serious commands used by qualified service center engineers. Some options are easy to understand but most are not. So be careful and don't say I did not warn you if you lose network permanently.
-------------------------------------------
Q) How to use DLNA of L9? (How to use L9 as Media Storage Device)?
A) I created one more Tutorial for DLNA connection of L9, here.
-------------------------------------------
Hope this helps.

May be its stopping saying "Permission Denied Are you root?" I am not sure. But please also see step 4 (newly added).
Firstly, as we both have P765, it should work with INDIA V10c link. But as you say its not working, I may help if you clearly mention where it fails with what message? and with what circumstances? May be you are missing some link or driver issue or small server issue. We will come to know only if you give clear picture, may be with screenshot.
I will also recommend you to try ROOTing on V10b and V10a of INDONESIA/INDIA, if possible. Well at the moment we all are still at experiment level. So Good Luck.
please help!
have an lg p769, 10e. was rooted, tried the recovery image/ cyanomod apk posted in the other thread. (for the prada?)
**SECURITY ERROR**
phone will not get past first splash screen (LG, SECURITY ERROR)
cmahendra,
followed all your steps in this guide (GREAT job, by the way!) but when kdz is supposed to say: 'check your internet line' 'continue' or 'cancel' it only says: 'check your internet line' 'restart' or 'cancel'
selecting cancel stops the process. selecting restart only shows the message again.
windows selector is on. small http is installed and adjusted (9002). edit hosts short cut is edited. kdz and shttp in root directory. s/w upgrade screen able to show on phone. lg s/w upgrade tool able to recognize phone and current software installed on it (when shttp is off).
please please please help! i really love this phone's potential and REALLY don't want to pay to get a new one.

ok one thing that was missing after all the hassle was the automatic offline procedure which you must run with command prompt after setting the hosts up and turing on the server as well you must start the windows enabler as a administrator attached is the missing file just rename it without the .txt to use it in command prompt

alright, alienn, refresh my memory real quick... how do i rename the txt file? F2/menu rename/properties all just keep it as .txt. 'save as...' doesn't seem to do it, either. dragging it into cmd just gives up a 'will not work, blah blah' result.
and is this anything like the other automatic offline post I saw?
thanks either way, though

The vbs file does whole process automatically, but some people had issues with path and other things. This guide is complete manual and transparent process with no chance of mistakes.
PS: please delete my whole huge OP you have quoted in your post, which was not necessary. I see no point in repeating whole thing when your point is easily understandable.

This is not automated offline fix via visual basic script. This is pure and transparent manual step by step guide. Hope u could use it.
Once you did it and understood, next time you only need to run http.exe and start flashing. No other step required.

WOW L9 Friends.
Expect some good news in next few days. I somehow managed to get Admins to pay attention for L9 subforum through a moderator we know from O2X forums in PM. Posting in that subforum request thread did not help us.
But now hopefully very soon L9 subforum will start. I may not be sure but I am positive about it.

If your LG phone have IMEI (lolz ), you can try my ROM LINKER PAGE and no matter whatever country it was sold, you will get exact latest UnRooted Official Rom. To clean all the previous workaround or leftover signature, you should do HARD RESET either before or after flashing.

Send your imei in PM , it's strange why you don't get your Rom with that. And yes it's not mandatory that you should flash Rom.from your country only. You are from USA then you can flash almost any Rom as US English is common in all.

The definite guide to rooting Samsung Galaxy J3(2016) SM-J320FN & FRP Locked Bootloop

The definite guide to rooting Samsung Galaxy J3(2016) SM-J320FN & FRP Locked Bootloop
As first I have to say, I had to create a thread in Q&A because of the low rank, but I am sure this can be moved to the J3 section as there are many questions on how to gain root access to this device. This guide can work on the SM-J320F model as well, but it hasn't been tested on other models, so don't try it !
Lets start :
Dont forget to Backup all your data before the process !!!
1. Tick USB Debugging and OEM Unlock in Developer Mode (OEM has to be ticked to unlock the bootloader)
2. Connect to PC with USB Cable and open Odin
3. Power off and reboot into Download Mode (VOL.DOWN+HOME+POWER)
4. Add twrp.zip to AP tab
5. Untick Auto-Reboot and Start
6. Wait to finish
7. When it's finished hold (VOL.DOWN+VOL.UP+HOME+POWER) to Power Off
8. Load into TWRP Mode (VOL.UP+HOME+POWER)
9. In TWRP first go to the Wipe Tab, check Cache and Data and click Wipe
10. Copy SuperSU into internal memory from your PC
11. Go back to TWRP and select Install, select the SuperSU from the internal memory and click install without ticking anything, then reboot
12. Wait for the phone to reboot, it may boot-loop a few times, and it boots slowly but dont interrupt the process !
13. From there on, check the root status by downloading Root Checker from PlayStore
KEEP OEM-UNLOCK ON ALL THE TIME, IF YOU DONT WANNA END UP WITH A BRICKED DEVICE(CUSTOM BINARY WAS BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK)!!!
If that happens, here is an official guide from the Samsung Kies Support Page :
IMPORTANT: You may need your device model name, S/N number, or IMEI number in order to proceed. This information can be found on the label underneath your device battery.
WARNING: This process permanently deletes all personal information from the device. The information will not be recoverable if you proceed with this process.
1. Open Kies 3 and click Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Initialization.
2. Enter your device Model name and click OK.
3. Enter the device S / N number and click OK.
4. Kies 3 will verify that the feature is available for your device. If the feature is available, click OK to continue.
5. The firmware version is displayed along with a note that the information on your device will be permanently deleted during this process. Click OK to continue.
6. Follow the steps to prepare your device for emergency recovery. Mark the checkbox next to I have read all of the above information. Select whether you agree to share this update with Samsung. Connect your device to Kies when you have activated the download mode. When your device is in download mode and connected to Kies 3, the Start upgrade button is available. Click Start upgrade to reinstall the firmware.
7. Touch Create backup to create a copy of selected items before proceeding. Touch Skip backup to proceed without backing up any items.
8. Kies 3 will download and prepare your system to update the firmware. This process can take some time. The time will vary based on your network and computer capabilities.
9. Respond to any security warnings about installing software.
10. The progress screen is shown during the upgrade process. The process will take several minutes to complete. Do not disconnect your device, turn the device off, or turn off your computer during this process.
11. Click OK when the upgrade is finished.

How to root SM-J320FN.rar
Works like a charm on J320FN.
I signed up just to say, after hours of trying different guides, accidentally factory resetting once or twice, and getting my phone stuck in a boot loop, this method worked. BUT it did factory reset my phone, but that's fine I've everything backed up and it wont take long to get it back. Maybe I pressed something I shouldn't have.
Some info on my phone in case it helps anyone in a similar position to how I was:
At one point I installed stock firmware from to get my phone out of the boot loop, I can't link it but if you google "J320FNXXU0APB4_J320FNO2C0APC1_O2C" (WITH quotes) you should find the page.
After doing that:
Android version: 5.1.1
Model number: SM-J320FN
Kernel version: 3.10.65-7225942 (Sun Feb 14 2016)
Build no: LMY47V.J320FNXXU0APB4
Baseband version: J320FNXXU0APB5
I hope I typed all that right. Thank you so much!!

Hey, why this guide doesn't mention that I have to download something. It's definitely NOT definitive! What is twrp.zip? Where do I take it from? What is AP tab? Where exactly do I copy SuperSU? What will happen in the download mode?
Problems in Root J320AZ
My name is Dario Lobos. I am working as a gardener and I am making a little application in my phone. I don't have computer so I did it in Java n-ide. I started with a Samsung core prime but the screen was broken and I did change it and the technicians broke it and gave me an Samsung s320. Android 6 (api23) and after that the java n-ide don't compiles the permits that I am requesting in the manifest so I can't grant permissions to my apk. Parallel of it the phone always show a notice unauthorized actions have been made please restart the phone to undo the unauthorized actions. And the lookout said message root access detected. I wrote Samsung without any positive answer. No technical assistance at all. But the roots checkers says that I have no root in my phone. Now I am trying to do a root. But I don't know if someone have a hidden root access in my phone. A page suggest Framaroot and you suggest kingroot. I don't want to store all my phone in their server to root it. Does any program that don't access to all the data to root the phone?. I am writing you since you have more experience to request you if it is in your possibilities. Also to ask you about prompt root commands. Where I can find info about that. A suggestion to solve my problem. My simple all is here

....github.com/tranleduy2000/javaide/issues/163
....1drv.ms/u/s!Asr3Ewn45KOLtGOqDkoMq20A-hbc?e=24Wwx3
The system don't let me put url since I am new add please http...
Well thank you in advance and any help is wellcome
Regards,
Dario Lobos
Adding more information to what I did to try to find a an answer. I tried to root with Frama root 1.9.3 and the installation only request me access to the camera and after installed the programs showed a banner that said can't root your device.
Today I downloaded from firmware.mobi some zip and img files but I already I couldn't learn how to use them properly.
I am trying to avoid the exploids system because maybe is a hacker in the middle. Always I am trying to root w/o SIM card and with Wi-Fi off. So I think that kingroot and kingoroot are not useful for my.
I am trying to buy an old desktop computer as an alternative.
Well any suggestion is usefull and wellcome.
Before of all of that I did two factory reset in recovery mode.
Then I installed an apk Dev Tools (trinea) and one menu request me developer permit in accesibility setting. The phone started to change the color of the screen and the outside padding start to flashing red. Then was open a setting menu and the language was changed suddenly to Japanese or Korean while the screen was lighting like receiving knoks. I turned of the phone and restarted and hopefully I remembered the position in settings to change the language.
After that I had to use an apk repair system and fix Android and the screen get better but the padding outside still flashing in red ones in a while.
Also where added plenty sha certificates (settings user certificates) like system certificates
Go daddy
VeriSign
Some governments (Turkish, Spain, Japan, Germany, Holland, and more)
The Catholic religion with 6 certificates called
Quo Basis
And much more.
So I did another factory reset recovery mode. And the screen problem disappeared and the certificates that I turned off manually firt too (All) but the root alert in the look out and the security notice didn't disappeared.
Today I wanted to print your forum page and the phone put error. Only put error in your forum page.
Other thing that I had to to just after the unpackage the restored Android is disable the setup and transfer. Because I think that is this apk that were using to access and modify my files and grants permissions.
I installed the TWRP application but said the phone have no root.
Today I opened the developer option in settings and turned to on the OEM option to unlock the boot loader but instead of put a banner saying that all data will be erased put a banner saying that the device protection will be not work and didn't do the reboot or nothing more that put this dialog.
Dario Lobos
great, unlocken/rooten worked here. But after that, the mobile became unusable. All google apps complain no connection is available. I cannot update google play store, cannot update other google apps like youtube, or install any app now.
And perhaps it does not have anything to do with the mentioned process, but before I started the process, I made sure all nessacary file were on the sd card. But now I have finished wiping the data / cache from the recovery and all files on the sd card are gone.
I cannot login to google photos to see if the apps are backupped because every google app complains no internet connection is available.
So yes, rooting/unlocking worked, but that's the only thing that worked here. I now got a useless Samsung J3 2016...
I need assistant trying to root my J320FN, which I mistakenly wipe some backed up recovery file now, I can not get through with the rooting and I can get back to forma phone setting am locked up , samsung phone not coming up again please what can I do ?

I need some Help Rooting this Cricket Alcatel Verso

Seeing how this phone just recently came out in January I haven't really found too much info out there so maybe this can be a start.
I've tried to unlock the bootloader but couldn't get fastboot to work and I tried kingroot and that failed. iIt has 12 requests for this phone so far.
So I'm pretty stuck right now on what to do I'm kinda a noob so maybe y'all can help me out a lil on what to do if anymore info is needed please let me know.
Thanks in advance
Greetings, I am noob too, but I am learning. I cannot answer your question about unlocking the bootloader, however, someone gave me an Alcatel Verso that had frp lock screen. Got limited access and installed an app called quickshortcutmaker. This allows running all the activities. There is a system app on mine called engineer mode. This reveals the actual file system as well as other info.
It appears there is not a reboot bootloader mode, it does have reboot recovery, but also I do not think it has fastmode. There is another mode called download mode, but I have not successfully used this for anything. Also, connecting usb abd in recovery mode yields device unauthorized.
If you are interested, I'll explain how I got frp partially bypassed. Added emergency contact, added an email, a prompt came up asking me which service to use, there were like four options like google, etc. I chose one I had not heard of that had the word executive, because it sounded official. When I chose it, another prompt came up saying that in order to use this service I had to set up a lock screen, make sure func is enabled. When I then turned the screen off and back on, I had a google search option from the lock screen. Pressed it and said "open settings", enabled install of unknown sources, used google search and said "open chrome". Used chrome to download quickshortcutmaker. Used google search and said "open file manager". Used file manager to install quickshortcutmaker. At this point I could have just used the phone from there, however... I added quickshortcutmaker to the func lock screen list by using google search to open settings. Then from the lock screen, I could launch quickshortcutmaker (or use google search). I then used quickshortcutmaker to run 'joy launcher' and voila, in. However, only the back button worked, and if I tried to log into google, it would bring up the frp lock screen. So, using the quickshortcutmaker, I ran every activity on the phone, and using the engineermode system app (I am pretty sure it was that one) I toggled an option called 'demo mode'. Upon exiting this system app and pressing the square button next to the home and back button, I saw an option to accept user agreement, or something like that. I scrolled down and checked the box, and voila, frp lock totally gone, and now I can log into google.
Now I am trying to root, but first I must unlock the bootloader.

HIT THANKS IF FOUND USEFUL
No, it does not work. I am having several issues. First, I cannot get adb windows drivers to recognize this device, I have installed every qualcomm driver I could find, also tried the universal adb drivers and even the drivers that come with the phone. Nothing works.
However, I have a rooted tablet with an otc cable that does connect via adb. However, adb reboot bootloader simply reboots the phone. There is a download mode, but I do not have fastboot installed on the tablet, so I cannot check if download mode = fastboot.
I am able to adb push files to /data/local/tmp and running adb shell chmod 755, I have succesfully unstalled busybox and can execute commands such as vi. The user is still not root, but I feel I am close.
I tried to download the emmc internal memory using backup qualcomm tool, but I seem to not have the correct drivers for my phone. My plan was to edit ro.debuggable to 1 and reflash, so I can adb root and remount as rw.
Best I can do so far
So far cracking it is still undone...but I can offer up some advice...download 3c, advanced tools and dev tools. A notepad++ would help too so you can re-create rom commands to make your own. Use advanced tools to look for vendor. Once there you should see a few files that make you question Google's business practices. Go into them to make alterations using dev toolds. The rest of the files can be re-made from scratch using notepad and 3c's rom manager.
This phone is complete garbage, I ended up giving it away because the touch screen would go to random spots on the phone randomly. It appears to be a cheap phone I do not like. Got an LG that as far superior.
I may have a Root method for the 5044R and the 5044C, I need someone with the 5044R and 5044C to get in contact with me. Best way to do that is Telegram. Here is the Link: https://t.me/Android_General_Chat
I'm currently Testing Root on the 5044C

UPDATE: TWRP Ported and WORKING. Now somebody make some custom Roms.
I'll have a Custom Stock Rom out for this soonishly if anyone is interested
Alcatel Verso Root Solution
I have an Alcatel Verso (Yes, the Qualcomm 5044c) and the solution from PizzaG works well. The bootloader is unlocked and the phone is rooted. It works better now than when it was new. Thank you, PizzaG!
-
Tip: carefully follow the instructions, try different USB ports and unplug any other USB cables / devices. You will need MS Windows, the .mbn file and Sugar_QCT (from PizzaG).
Where is the root method?
I am just curious of the method used, I do not have this phone.

Of course it works, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it along with modified boot and TWRP. Unsure if I released the modified stock rom or not?
@PizzaG Could you describe the method briefly, or post a link to the method, I am not seeing it.

I use the Alcatel Internal flashing software. It grabs the firmware files from their servers. I then swap their boot image for my modified image and then use the software to flash the device. It's then rooted and you can install TWRP or swap recovery files in the Flasher software and it will flash for you. Device must be bootloader unlocked from the factory but they disabled fastboot.
Thank you, do you have a link for instructions on how you modified the boot files, and which ones?

Once the program downloads the firmware, I was able to get some good info from the flashing logs that told me what every file is. So I just grabbed the B file which is boot and ran it through magisk manager to patch it. Pretty easy peasy. TWRP I just ported from another msm8909 device. The TWRP for 5044C also woks for 5044R models as well as the whole rooting procedure. I would build some more recoveries for it from source but I don't have the device so I can't be bothered with that unless someone wants to donate towards the cause.
Verso Unlocking
This is basically how I unlocked the phone. First, I went into developer options and allowed "OEM Unlocking* and "USB Debugging." Then I opened Windows and downloaded the Actatel drivers. I also installed SugarQCT and the *.mbn file from PizzaG's website. Once Windows and ABD recognize the phone., I launch SugarQCT. I used the version from PizzaG, but said no to any update requests. (It crashed after it updated itself.). In SugarQCT, I started the phone firmware flash process and pasted the *. mbn file into the "5044c" folder that the program creates during flashing. It is important to overwrite the existing *.mbn while SugarQCT is downloading the firmware files so that the newly pasted version is flashed to the phone. Once it is done, SugarQCT deletes the entire temporary folder. When the "flashing completed" or "success" message pops up, just reboot the phone and set it up as usual. I used Flashify to flash Magisk to the recovery since PizzaG's ".mbn installs SuperSu.

oh, did I really do it with SuperSU? My bad on that. Seems weird I'd use that. But yep, nice job of explaining the procedure. You should be nice and post your magisk patched version of boot.img or pass it to me to further modify it and i'll post it on here. I'd like to make it selinux permissive and remove the line of code that reflashes stock recovery on reboot. If you used my original SuperSu patched image and then repatched it with Magisk, then it wouldn't need to be repatched for selinux and such.
Flashing Files
Actually, I didn't patch the boot image or modify any files. I used the 5044C_TWRP.img and BVT4H1H0CL10.mbn that you posted. I have an Alcatel rom from Needrom, but I didn't use that either. I flashed Magjsk.zip with flashify, but I could have flashed it via adb. SuperSu was already installed..

Help with my passcode locked Tracfone LG Rebel 4 - LML212VL - Download Mode

I have a passcode locked LG Rebel 4 - LML212VL and cant get into download mode.. Ideas?
I need to recover a clients data and the only way for me to do this is through LGLAF or with a box that can remove the pattern lock.. However all ive managed to get to is recovery and that is it.. No download mode.. Being a Tracfone i know fastboot is disabled but download mode should not be. Now seeing that it is passcode locked is there a chance a security feature is blocking me from getting to Download mode??
Any help is much appreciated.
@noidodroid
If device is accesable in ADB mode, why don't pull out the data in question?
Code:
adb devices
adb pull <remote data location> <local location>

The LG tools like LGUP will change the mode when necessary.
They do it by sending an AT command... AT%DLOAD
What next then? The data is still encrypted...
:fingers-crossed:
@noidodroid or whoever might need this.
Here is how to use AT...
First check in Device Manager (devmgmt. msc) what COM port LG is using - under the Modems.
Then use Putty terminal or similar program to give the command(s).
Or "blindly" by using dos prompt. (You don't see the answers. )
First get the port to use and then echo the command.
Code:
[B]reg query HKLM\hardware\devicemap\SERIALCOMM[/B]
\Device\LGANDNET[B]MDM0[/B] REG_SZ [B]COM##[/B] <--use this
\Device\LGANDNETDIAG1 REG_SZ COM$$
[B]echo AT%DLOAD>\\.\COM##[/B]

Right on man! These are definitely helpful. I was using some AT tools and a script to run all commands in a database i have to see which were compatible with certain LG phones but I never got to finish the project. Now my only problem with this phone. here is i get no modem / com ports. I think it is possibly a security feature? I could see LG locking out people from download mode when phone is passcode locked unless they goto recovery and wipe it...
I need to find another way to do this or a way using FWUL, MAID etc (once modem recognized) unless someone knows how to get the modem to work.
Thanks for the wonderful information bro i will definitely save it and make use of it. Love toying around with AT commands, always have.

Tried with my LG10 2017 m250n. Even with secure startup the com ports work, adb doesn't though.... Also recovery shows some COM ports. It's shows it as LG device, but there is no driver installed. Maybe reinstalling the driver package would help, IDK..
edit:
Those recovery COM ports show only if you enter recovery from laf download mode and quite shortly too.

Also noticed that both LGANDNETMDM# or LGANDNETDIAG# device will do... goes to DLOAD mode..

Yeah I have never had an issue getting those ports until this clients passcode locked tracfone. I think tracfone locks down everything.
I know there are some methods of getting LG's into certain modes on zero % battery but haven't tried this yet.
Unfortunately and i guess fortunately lol this phone went back to the client. They are having to go back through notes to find possible entries. Good luck to them.
Thanks for the help everyone!

At what point is recovery showing the com ports? And are you just checking Device Manager or? And how to get into laf download mode to enter recovery from? LAF download is this the normal old download mode? If so i have never been able to switch over to recovery unless it is using some AT command that works (i have tried a handful and none work in download mode so far - LG Phoenix 4)
Also thank you 1000% again for the AT commands. I already found what i need and client is bringing phone back to me so i will give it a whirl and see what happens. Already locking up various LG phones here just to try it out.. IF you have any confirmed working AT commands and such lmk privately if you want and when done i can swap with you what all I have found to work the most. I was reading on security forums about how repairing imei, unlocking and other such actions are taken out using serial port for the most part and can be done in terminal (well it is one way) but not a lick of more information have i found on the topics yet. Just 3 white hat security forums. heh
Right when recovery starts for maybe minute or two. Doing something in recovery which prevents continuing to the normal boot doesn't help. Shows in device manager.
In MTK devices one can run multi_init in laf mode and as it fails it will go to the recovery. In Snapdragons is there such? IDK, but you might be able mount a sdcard formatted as ext4 and try to run it from there. I have run some programs that way - I believe, but cannot really remember much. What I did I tested if I could modify multi_init to boot into bootloader. It run but just normal boot happened. But maybe it could be modified to boot into edl?? Renaming it to something that can be run maybe needed...
Interesting to see what you've found out about AT commands, if you're willing to share.
PM if so, LG is watching me already...
(happened to found the LGUP v1.17 and shared here, it's package was removed next day - plus some others...)
Very cool. I never thought of doing any of that. I especially like the EDL idea. I might run some of that by eliwiggy a previous admin and wiz with Samsung devices to see what he says also.
I had a break through in FRP removal using AT commands recently. I found a way to get out from some locked LG devices using SVC stuff and AT commands. Nobody is doing this AFAIK... As for screen locks no success yet on newer devices. I will get in touch with you and we can chat.
Hmm so you can't get into download mode. Why don't you reset the phone first then connect to the internet when it asks and then find a way to open up a browser. If you can open up the browser you can download and install apk's and what not. That's how I FRP unlocked my Aristo 2.
I have done this already. No way into browser on the device i tried it on. Weird device too.. MS210.. I have been able to bypass this device no problem before until someone updated the firmware i think.. Mindboggling..
Anywho here is how i bypassed it and so far i think this method should work on all similar. I couldn't get security patch level as i had to give device back to the client. :-/

Credits also to @CXZa as if it weren't for him i probably would not have looked deeper into AT commands.

I wonder if anyone has found a way to carrier unlock these LG Velvet devices yet.. From what i hear nobody has. But there is always someone or some team.
If you just reset it and once you get to the wifi select screen, just click the button to turn wifi off and the next in bottom right at same time. It will continue setup offline and let you choose pin to get in.

Possible Firehose Need Tester

I spent some time picking through the local upgrade utility Verizon packages with the phone, and discovered that directly before attempting the reflash the phone from download mode, the installer drops the following file, which by comparison to others I have found, appears to be a firehose. Additionally, the certificate inside the file matches Alcatel/TCL and seems to be for this platform.
I have tried on my own device with no success. However, I'm beginning to draw the conclusion that my phone may have been factory defective, since I cannot reset it successfully, and others do not seem to have the same problems with their devices as I do.
Nonetheless, it may be worth it for someone to try using the file in the common Qualcomm utilities like EFS Explorer and QPST to see if its possible to pull ( and hopefully push ) files to and from these devices - like the full bootloader partition.
I'm going to give it a go and see what happens

Any go?
Honestly it's been a min I was trying to figure it out but I can't get my phone to detect on QPST I remember when I originally had gotten the phone I was able to get it to pull up like diagnostic mode and then it would pull up under EFS and stuff I'm not no pro or anything when it comes on stuff like that I was just looking through the files and what not trying to figure it out but anyway I have updated my phone knowingly I shouldn't have and I just can't seem to get it back recognizing on my computer at least under that mode so I'm not sure hopefully this makes sense
