Looking for a way to ROOT the realme 7 5g. - Realme 7 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
I recently got the Realme 7 5G and I'm looking for a way to root or unlock the bootloader. I've tried the post here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/realme-7-5g-eu-version-guide-for-unlock-bootloader.4272495/
But it doesn't work now.
Phone info:
Realme 7 5g
Realme UI 2.0
Android 11
800U 8GB ram
Model: RMX2111
AUSTRALIAN VARIANT
If there is a way please let me know, im sure tons of people will appreciate it aswell!

Maybe if you would tell us what you mean by "it doesn't work" we can be more helpful.
How far did you get in the process? What error messages do you get?

I was doing the steps to get the unlocker working, changing mac, running the oppo tool and i tried to change the region but the code just didnt work
. Also is it impossible to get fastboot on the realme 7 5g? I tried 'adb reboot bootloader' and it just didnt work.

How old is the guide? Pretty sure I read somewhere that OPPO did some patching that stopped a certain tool from working.

I guess they did, I just don't get why realme restricts the unlock tool to india.

There is a way around it. I'm a bit busy at the moment, but I'll try and scrape around my history tomorrow to try and find what I'm talking about. Feel free to do some digging of your own, of course. No guarantees that it'll fix the issue, however, so be wary of that.

If you do have a method, this will undoubtedly help a lot of people (including me)!

I did it few weeks ago on Android 10 Realme 7 5G and it worked smoothly.
After I got the OK in the right window of Sec5 tool the code worked for me. If I wanted to run the code again though, I had to use Sec5 again.
Maybe retry the Sec5? Are you running Android 10 or 11 on your Realme?
'adb reboot bootloader' doesn't work, the idea of the whole process is to be able to boot into the bootloader (which is enabled by "in-depth testing app") where you can unlock the bootloader and subsequently boot into bootloader any time you want to.

Oh, I'm running Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11). Maybe they patched it in the update?
Also, I've run Sec5 multiple times, it says 'ok' and when I put the code in, it just won't do it. Really frustrating how realme locked the in-depth test to India phones only.

Can any developer please please help me out quickly? i'm out of time seriously I need help but quick.
I'm trying to unlock my device Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon varient. All the other commands like
* adb devices
* adb reboot edl
* fastboot devices
* fastboot oem device-info
everyone of it is working fine but when I write
* fastboot oem unlock-go
I get the above mentioned error.
Does anybody know the solution to it? Before answering please consider that other commands are working except this one, I didn't found any proper solution that's why posted the problem here and I already did revoke USB debugging permissions and turned it on again but that didn't helped.
So please give me a working solution as quick as possible or else any help is appreciable.

That fastboot oem unlock-go command won't work.
OK, follow these steps:-
a) Reboot to Fastboot mode by pressing Power and Vol down buttons for 10 seconds.
b) Download the MiUnlock tool and enter your credentials first. It will check whether your Mi account has permission to unlock (you must have permission from Xiaomi to unlock).
c) It will detect your phone as Mi Phone and proceed to unlock.
d) It will verify whether the Mi account in your phone and the credentials of the Mi account you entered on the PC are the same.
e) It will unlock your device for sure!
If it says some sort of verification error aka. the famous stuck at 50%, wait for some days like for a week and try again, it may work even in 2 days! Keep trying!
Good Luck!:good::highfive:
Thank you!

Thanks for the help but I don't even want to try that method first it's very problematic, it takes a lot of time and it's not even sure if it works. So if you can help me with the problem I'm having that would very very very appreciable :good:.
And why the command will not work, can you please tell me? Also this command gives the same error "fastboot OEM unlock bootloader". Hope you can help .

It's not that problematic, actually it is the easiest way to unlock bootloader!
Unofficial bootloader is the very "problematic" method.
Anyhow, Are you looking for unofficial bootloader unlock? Then go here and follow the steps correctly, dont skip any step.
And for your second question, Xiaomi has complicated the bootloader unlock process by heavy encryption. That's why you couldn't unlock Redmi Note 3 as any Moto device!

OK that's why I'm having so much problem to unlock it. I just want to ask do you know any other way to fix the problem I'm having with this error. Cause the post you gave me tells how to unlock the RN3 temporary :crying: but the thread I followed helps to unlock it permanently :good: (how I know cause I used similar commands on my Canvas A1) and I followed almost every step properly.
I don't understand why companies emerged as custom ROMs stops supporting customisation, at least don't make it hard. I just wanted to flash my RN3 with a Custom ROM like CM13 cause MIUI is not supporting 4G networks properly of multiple operators that's why, for which I needed a custom recovery and for which I needed unlocked bootloader.
I just don't understand , all this so that no one could copy their ROM or I don't know for what . It's just makes things difficult for normal people and no one else. Locks can't keep a thief away. If anyone wants to break into their system than one will, if he/she uses right tools properly. Why make normal people lives' difficult?
ALSO I WANT TO ASK MORE THING, if in first case, I get into fastboot mode just after the ROM flash & before very first ROM boot and run this command and if in second case, the room gets booted and then I go into fastboot mode & run the command, DOES IT CREATES ANY CHANCE OF NON-OCCURRENCE OF THAT ERROR IN FIRST CASE?.

The thread I gave you was not temporary, it is permanent and it is temporary till you get the official unlock permission. Actually it's a permanent 'safe' solution.
Xiaomi did it for security of data, not to stop customising. If it had to stop users from customising, xiaomi wouldn't have given you warranty even if you root or it may not even have given you an option to unlock bootloader!

Thanks for all the support and help you gave me.
I got this error too but i forgot how to fix it.
Something about the 'disable driver signature' or the modified rom that you flash before you trying to unlock.

By your name, I think you are an Indian, so which Sim you are using? You need to do a 4G pack recharge first to use LTE, VoLTE won't work in custom ROMs right now.
Edit: you could see this thread but this is a bit complicated: http://en.miui.com/thread-335643-1-1.html

I appreciate your help but the post you gave me is for non-asian countries so it will not work for me. As you already know I'm an Indian so that's why. Are you an Indian, only asking cause in that way you may already faced the problems i'm having.
I'm only familiar with only 2 4G networks for now. One is Airtel 4G, what they say have FDD LTE network, I don't what that is, but that's why it's not working on my phone, I contacted them and they said that my phone doesn't support it, I don't know why cause it support much more LTE Bands other than any smartphone in that price range. Second is Jio 4G, my sim gets detected, shows network in manual selection but doesn't get registered on them. I see only the message of 'No Service' or 'Emergency calls only' when I insert it.

Running MI8 Chinese Rom want to switch to international rom

Hello fellow Mi8 owners.
I just got my MI8 via aliexpress. The phone came with the chinese rom. Thankfully English could be used as the default language and I was able to get around the phone that way.
However, Google play and services are obviously missing. Is there a way to get a global rom?
I tried to unlock the bootloader for 3h yesterday, however, there was no way to get it to work.
Things I did:
0) Login with Xiaomi account.
1) enabled developer options.
2) Enable USB debugging.
3) Enable the OEM Unlock toggle.
4) Request Unlock via the phone (where you can check if the bootloader is locker or not).
On the PC:
- I downloaded the MI Unlocker software (latest version). Checked for version update to be sure.
- Downloaded mi PC suite (I keep reading that it's deprecated so not sure if it's useful or not). Updated to latest version.
- connected and let drivers update. Initially it showed as a generic android phone in device manager. After some uninstall of drivers and trying to install Xiaomi Drivers, it shows up as LePhone or something like that. It does show the Mi8 under it though.
Issue:
- When I tried to unoock bootloader via the Mi Unlocker, it checked if I have permission, then it went to the screen where it asks me to connect phone, there is no way for me to make it visible int the app. I can see it in ADB (shows phone ID and sideload). But the Mi unlocker does not identify the device/cannot unlock it.
- Mi PC Suite also can't identify the phone.
Any ideas on what I'm missing? I keep seeing that some 10-12 days need to be waited since you get the phone and connect it to Xiaomi, but it's not clear why that is, nor where I can see this wait period.
This is my first Xiaomi phone/experience. Ideally I don't want to do anything too dangerous that could brick the phone. Just want a clean global version of MiUi (with OTA updates) and Google Play/Services.
Any clear guides are much appreciated.
Thank you.

Just to give you a brief , 360 hours is needed to unlock bootloader , globalrom is not available yet only xiaomi.eu ROM is . Also if you want to get Google services in Chinese ROM then inside MI app store application search for Google . Thank you very much for the response.
Do you know what the difference between Xiaomi.eu rom and global rom is? For the most part I want a stable rom that isn't bloated. Any other "extras" I would either do via Root and Magisk if I need to. Skins and various modifications don't really interest me.
I'll also check the sidebar on Reddit for more info.
LE: Is there any way to know how much I have left from those 360h of being locked? Or any way to see that this period is over once the time passes? I was a bit dumbfounded that I didn't get any error stating that I must wait 360 hours. I just read about it in various posts.
Hi,
I have the same problem with windows 10.. I tried all but the mi unlock do not verify the mi8.
After different days(of test) I try with windows 7 and all work well the first time ?
I hope this help you

Wow, that's good to know. Never thought it might be from the Windows version + driver compatibility.
I might just use Win 7 to test it out. I'll wait for the 360h to pass first.
How did you test with Win7? Fresh install or some Virtual Machine?

Oppo Reno shows fastboot window only for a second!

Hi all!
Today my Oppo Reno 5G 10x Zoom arrived. As my previous phones I would like to root my new phone too to use e.g. Titanium Backup.
I have currently installed Color OS V7.1, Android 10, Model CPH1921, Build CPH1921EX_11_C.35.
I did the following:
Enable the Developer Options on your device. To do this, go to Settings>>About Phone>>tap on the Build Number 7 times till you see a toast message “You are now a developer”.
Under the Developer Options, you need to enable the OEM Unlock option as well. To do that again head to the Settings>>Developer Options>>enable OEM Unlock.
Download and set-up the ADB and Fastboot tools on our PC.
Now, head to the Platform-tools folder and open the CMD or command prompt.
Now, in the command prompt, enter the below command and press the Enter button on your keyboard;
adb devices
You will get a pop-up on your smartphone with a message “Always allow from this computer”. You need to press OK
Type the below command to enter the bootloader mode, and press Enter;
adb reboot bootloader
After rebooting the fastboot window (this window) appears for about 1s an the phone immediatelly reboots.
So I am unable to finnish the steps from this guide.
What am I doing wrong or what is the problem causing this?
Thanks for any help in advance!
Try to see if your device supports bootloader unlock.
You'll need an app (deep testing) to apply for permission before you can unlock it.
I'm also looking for a way to unlock my bootloader... Same model cph1921. Mine unfortunately says it's a carrier phone so I can't go ahead with the unlock. I'll tinker around to change region and unlock if that be possible.
Let me know how you get along @htcdesire-hd

Hi,
thanks for the suggestion with this app, that might be useful for me in the future!
That the Oppo Reno was not unlockable (or at least I did not find a way) was a dealbreaker for me! So I sent it back to the retailer a few days after writing the post above.
That means I am not able to test the app you suggested with the Oppo Reno 5G anymore.
Now I have a Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro 256GB and I am very happy with my device. Unlocking and rooting was even supported by the manufacturer (after 1 week mandatory waiting time) and the Hardware is also very good. So I am glad I sent back the Oppo Reno...

I hadn't have an oppo before so was unaware they are so strict with the bootloader. I ordered a OnePlus as well but still have the oppo. I'll try sometime and let you know.
For me, not having ad free experience and unable to change dpi is a deal breaker

Yes same for me, I also thought that Oppo is not that restricted! Ok, thanks, I will look forward to that.
Everyone has their own preferences. For me the adds in the system apps are barely annoying and I don't have any reason to change my DPI (battery performance is enough at my point of view). At most not having a 10x zoom is a little bit annoying but there are versions of my phone which have a 10x zoom instead of a macro camera.
I wonder if it would be possible to install the "update" with the modified Magisk boot.img to gain root access. Unpacking boot.img is hassle-free, but despite the "codecs" for 7zip, I can't repack the archive with the modified file. There is also the issue of bricking the oppo .. Has anyone tried something? Any other ideas?
Did anyone come to a solution for this , its such a great phone

How to root Oneplus Nord 10 5g?

Hello group I interested in rooting my Oneplus n 10. Now I've been doing research for the past week and a half but it's very confusing. First off my oem is greyed out in developers my mode, and second I don't own a computer. I did DL LADB app but for some reason I can't find the code to do so. Need PC
What @VovaHouse said... I know of no way without a PC.
If you have the global model (e.g. carrier indifferent) the phone still needs to connect to the Google Spyware server once before the OEM switch is ungreyed out. There is another thread where it is claimed this can be bypassed, but it was never worth it for me to do.
If you have a carrier model, you need to get it unlocked, which, like the rooting, requires a PC AFAIK. Maybe buy a cheap used one or something? Once you are freed, it is no longer required.

Question 3rd Attempt and my OnePlus Nord N20 5G has updated itself a 2nd time.

Seriously how can I lock this thing down to keep it from sneaking updates? I was on a July Version Day 1.
Day 3 it Patched to an August Version.
Day 7 it's patched itself to 2022-09-05 Android 11 and I'm considering throwing it back to best buy lol.
Every time I have disabled automatic updates and it still sneaks this in. I'm thinking it's OTA updates.
I really need to cripple this phone before it takes me past the point of no return to mod it.
is your bootl;oader unlocked?
Yes, according to this. Am I misunderstanding this? Should it not be unlocked?
Also, here is where I am tonight. I started off being trapped with Android 11 2022-09-05.
Then I got DSU Sideloader from here.
Then I installed it.
Then I downloaded this on pc and dumped it into a folder on my phone.
Then I ran the installation with DSU Sideloader leaving Userdata and Image Size as default.
Now I am here. I think this is where I open ADB because I am not rooted yet and issue commands?
Actually I think thats exactly it. The next page even gives the complete copy paste based on my storage path.
Ok going to run this command now from adb on pc.
adb shell ' sh "/storage/emulated/0/Mod ****/DSU Application Storage Folder/workspace_dsuhelper/install" '
Phone is connected to usb c cable.
Dang it.
It cried about service not running but now it looks like its up. When I type adb devices I see my device just fine.
What have I done wrong?
The only method to disable automatic updates on oneplus phones is not allowing google play services to access internet.
If you use any google services, then practically there is no way to disable automatic ota updates.
Flash a custom rom if it exists or buy a new phone from a different manufacturer.
Hey man.. you require a lengthy response so I'm writing this as a prelude but as a sign of good things to come.. do you have telegram or any particular messaging service we could talk on so we can communicate quicker than just days in between at a time.

I think all he has done is toggle the oem unlock in developer options.. from wha the's described, he hasn't made it to that point.. or maybe he has? but i don't think he has so i'm glad you mentioned that, actually.
Yeah all I have done is toggle the oem unlock in developer options. I've done similar things like this but on older phones and android versions. (Android 8.1 and before) And a little bit of Android 9 but that was one a Note 9 and Samsung always makes everything more annoying these days so it was mixed success.
