HDMI to R.G.B/R.C.A adapter, connect TF to your TV which hasn't a HDMI interface..

Well.. I haven't this one untill now. But i want to know if there are any body has the same idea with me.
A simple cable adaptor will not work, because for that to work, Asus has to specially support outputting a compatible composite analogue signal through their HDMI connector, which I don't think they will. However, they have announced a standard VGA adaptor, with that you can connect an analog TV with a VGA input. If you have an even older TV, then you'll have to use a HDMI to RCA converter box like this.
Like above, you'll need an active digital to analog converter cable (it either is a box or requires some batteries with a bulky part in the middle), since the Transformer only outputs digital signal (speculated). With the VGA adapter becoming available, you can go VGA Adapter -> VGA to RCA and it should work (I'm assuming the VGA adapter will also output sound with RCA or 3.5mm jack)
there must be a build in analog signal within the HDMI output, because the adapter is only a cable. and i dont think there isnt any converter in the HDMI VGA cable.
i think these two will perfect match for our problem:
VGA to HDMI cable (offical Asus cable)

HDMI only has digital signals for both video and audio. You will require an active HDMI to Composite video box. Search Amazon for "HDMI to Composite video".... can't post links yet

Yes, a standard HDMI output is purely digital, but I think Transformer's HDMI output is designed to be reconfigured to output an analog VGA signal as well (a port is just a set of pins, you can output just about anything as long as the underlying hardware supports it; like some phones can output a HD video signal through a USB port etc.. ). I say this because photos of the announced mini HDMI to VGA adaptor is too small to be an active converter.
I have a hdmi to component and VGA converter at home,
So can test this for you tomorrow when I get home,
There isn't any reason why a adapter won't work,
To get a analogue signal then the VGA adapter for the transformer connects to the data port at the bottom,

What do I need?

My wife needs to show a PowerPoint Presentation on our Prime. I have Smart Office 2 which shows the PP but what adapter/cable do I need for her to attach the Prime to a Projector to show this PP to a Group? I guess I need to find out what type of Attachment the Projector has for input.
Thanks
This might sound like a lot of adapters but this is what i do (if its uses dvi)
Micro hdmi male to hdmi female-> hdmi cable -> hdmi female to dvi male (you need to figure out what type dvi it is just google it)
Then for sound just a double sided male 3.5mm cable
On eBay you can get everything pretty cheap (around 7 bucks) if you dont mind waiting
Edit: i think asus sells something that converts micro hdmi to vga

Thanks for info. I had a HDMI to DVI cable so I Ordered a Micro HDMI to HDMI Cable and also a Female to Female HDMI adapter. If I am think correctly this would give me a way to Attach to Prime to a Projector if it has a HDMI or a DVI input. I might need to get VGA adapter but I am hoping this is a Newer Projector she will be using so it will have HDMI or DVI.
ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 - Micro HDMI to VGA Adapter @ Ebay
With a micro hdmi to hdmi cable, you will just need the female hdmi to dvi cable. Only need a standard hdmi cable if you're using a micro hdmi to hdmi adaptor.
Cullenmq1, you can go from 3 accessories to 2 by replacing your micro hdmi to hdmi adaptor with a micro hdmi to hdmi cable. Just saying....
I bought a 15ft micro hdmi to hdmi cable on ebay for $10. I already had a 6ft version of that cable left over from my Evo 4G (as my Evo 3D uses a MHL adaptor for hdmi output) but wanted one that was longer to use with Prime.

I knew the minute I hit Buy that I had screwed up. I received my Cable today I had indeed ordered a "Mini" not "Micro" HDMI to HDMI cable. I have ordered the Correct one now. I will just keep the other one because I only paid $3.99 for it and it cost me a few dollars to return it....

[Q] Video out, Micro HDMI to DIV-I Projector

Does ICS not support DIV-I/D out? When I ran a different tablet with HoneyComb, HDMI out to a DIV-D projector, it worked just fine.
I've been running an assortment of cables and adaptors with confusing results.
The base line was my original tablet (no longer available for testing) which had Honeycomb and a full HDMI out. I have an HDMI to DIV-D cable that ran to my BenQ W100 Projector and worked fine.
Introduce the Prime with it's Micro HDMI and I've tried the following...
Micro HDMI to Standard HDMI adapter - HDMI to DIV-D cable - *Fail*
Micro HDMI to DIV-D adapter - DIV-D to DIV-D cable *Fail*
Micro HDMI to VGA Adapter - VGA to VGA (to a different projector) *Works*
My W100 doesn't have VGA, but the work projector does (but no DIV-D connection).
I don't have a wide enough assortment (or consistent enough) to eliminate variables and pin down the exact point of failure.
I also spent a fair amount of time searching the forum and google, but not finding this exact issue.
Thoughts?
Nil success for me as well.
Tried micro hdmi to hdmi to hdmi coupler to hdmi to dvi; and,
Micro hdmi to hdmi to hdmi/dvi converter.

PS for ppl who want's to try adaptor's like hdmi to dvi : i tested one adaptor buyed with 4pounds from ebay, and it works fine

Huawei Mate 20 pro Desktop mode

Hi Guys,
I have Huawei Mate 20 pro and one of the reasons to buy this was the desktop mode.
I have an old HP monitor that has 3 ports (DVI, VGA and display port). So I bought 3 things. USB c to HDMI dock. HDMI Cable and HDMI to DVI Converter. I plugged all these in and my monitor is not picking any signals.
I think that the USB c to HDMI dock might be faulty so i ordered a new one but would it be better if i just get the USB c to DVI cable ? I wont be able to charge the phone but atleast it would work.
Can anyone advise ? I just want to use the Desktop mode on my old monitor with mouse, keyboard and charging.
I have a choetech usb-c to hdmi adapter that works perfectly for the mate 20 pro. I cannot advise how other bits will work.
Thanks for this message, I didn't even know that there was a desktop mode on my phone
I have a Startech adapter from USB-C to DVI, HDMI, VGA or miniDP and just tested out, everything works fine.
Maybe the resolution of your monitor is not supported?
