POCO F1 pixel exp update from Android 9 - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi Team, I was living under a rock and have been on android 9 for last 2 years now wanted to upgrade to Android 11.
Is it possible to skip android 10?
I have update the TWRP to latest version any other things to mind, I would still wanna remain with pixel exp +
Thanks for the help.

Hi, it depends on which device you have. As you know Android does not support updates very long for certain devices. So, first check if your device still can receive updates from Android and if not, see if you can update to Android 10, which is much better than 9. Kind regards kuzibri

I am using Poco F1. No official updates and I dont like miui. Please advise if I can flash android 11 on top of android 9? Same rom pixel exp

I think yes, you can flash directly the latest PE. See HERE and HERE. Clean flash, with formatting (not only wiping) several partitions is a must.

Am I safe installing the Android Q beta 3 GSI on my MI 8 Lite? Will the Camera work?

Hey everyone!
I really love the new android q beta and i was wondering if it is possible to install it on my mi 8 lite?
On android developers it says, that it's necesarry for the phone to be launched with android p (mi 8 lite wasn't):
https://developer.android.com/preview/gsi-release-notes
Is it okay if I have my phone updated to android p or that is not the same?
If I install this GSI, will my camera work (it is quite important for me)?
I am not really good in this tipic nor do I know much about it, but I have installed many roms before.
Thanks

It wouldn't have the miui camera since it's not a miui release so you might have to install gcam. But the only way to answer your question is do a backup and flash it and see .
The linked images are for ab devices and ours (mi8lite) is an a device. AB devices basically have 2 system partitions and A devices only have one. So it won't work for us.

This link for download to Android Q GSI, for A/B partition or only A partition:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/
So is. Android Q is a long time ago for A.
The only one that starts the beta 2 of the Q in the mi 8 lite.
Sorry for the sincerity, but the such project treble A beautiful piece of crap has left. So far I do not know where they got the idea that this would be useful ... Even for devices with A / B participation there is no stable work, all bugged.

Android 10 for Mi 8 Lite

Do you think Xiaomi updated the Mi 8 Lite to the recently released version of Android 10?
Will someone give development to customs roms of Android 10 for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite?
Hold your jets pal. We dont even have a rock solid Pixel Experience on Pie.
My advice. Go test the latest builds, use the phone, report back and then maybe we will have Android 10.
Eventhough not officially announced, it's almost guaranteed at this point Xiaomi will update it to Android 10. Usually it's 2 years of version updates and 3 years of security updates. The estimated release date is somewhere between Q4/2019 (Mi 8) and Q1/2020 (Redmi Note 7).
That beeing said, don't hold your breath on it. Kernel sources usually get available at a much later date. Until we have high quality, rock stable custom Android 10 ROMs, most likely another year will pass.
I'm optimistic about this. @nysadev even made a guide on how to install Android 10 GSIs on platina, so i think soon we'll have (not stable) custom roms
there will be an android 10 miui for mix 2s. miui 11 will come first as android 9 later it will update to android 10.

Apparently no one has new issues about what will happen with Android 10 in the Mi 8 Lite, in the same way my cell phone was stolen and I'm not interested much because It makes no sense to remain interested in something that I no longer have :/

Mi Pad 4 is NOT getting MIUI 11

So, Xiaomi just released their plan of updating their Chinese devices on MIUI 11. You can find the plan on their homepage here (scroll to the bottom)
As you can clearly tell, Mi Pad 4 is not on the list (neither is Mi Pad 4 Plus), so unless they change their mind, we're stuck with what we already have.
Thats utterly incredible incompetence...
If it would stick with 8.1 Android ok... but at least MIUI 11
Will it be possible to develop unofficial MIUI 11 or Android 9 and 10 roms if they release sources?

Mi 8 Lite/Youth is getting MIUI11 in the first batch, it also uses Snapdragon 660.
As well as Redmi Note 7, Mi 6X,...
I am really courious what devs maybe can do with it.
We should waiting on Friday. I think we'll got MIUI 11.
Some times in the past Xiaomi didn't mention MI Pad 4 in the releases, I hope we will see MIUI 11 next Friday.
It seems that we're getting MIUI 11 from xiaomi.eu

But there are no rom for MI Pad 4 on xiaomi.eu right now.
If no MIUI 11, goodbye for me to MIUI. But which rom should I choose? @amkirk94, are you working on a new build of Pixel Experience?

Pixel Experience Plus on Android 9 will keep getting monthly security updates and a few new features at least until the end of the year.
Meanwhile, our friend @rcstar6696 is working hard to get us some Android 10.

I agree with gaja22.
I'm seriusly thinking about to switch to Pixel Experience Rom for many months. I have 2 questions:
1. What are the difference between Pixel Experience and Pixel Experience Plus roms? I'd like to use a stock rom without developers personalizations.
2. Are OTA updates available or I have to install manually every new update?
Thanks in advance for tour support.

1. The difference between Pixel Experience and Pixel Experience Plus is that the Plus version has a few extra features, while maintaining overall the Pixel feel. Some of the features on the Plus include Navigation Button Invert Layout. integrated Screen and Sound Recorder, Status Bar Customization and many more.
Currently the 2 variants are maintained by 2 different developers.
2. OTA Updates are currently not available for neither Pixel Experience, nor for the Pixel Experience Plus.

Pie MIUI 11 seems pretty nice and stable so far. But why stop here..
Edit: Tablet mode enabled screens, and yes. It's very smooth. Even manual camera settings work.
It's a port for MI Pad 4?

I'll upload it only when I'll get Android 10 MIUI 11 to work and most/all bugs will be fixed. Official Pie vendor from Xiaomi would help a lot, but seems like Xiaomi doesn't care at all about their tablets.
Right now I have to stabilise Pie vendor, then I'll try different bases to see which one will work best, and after that I'll try to upgrade Pie vendor to Android 10. It's a ton of work but in the end we hopefully will have mostly working MIUI 11 Android 10.
I've been using Pie MIUI 11 for a day now and it's really amazing. But we all want Android 10
I'll post pics as soon as Android 10 MIUI 11 boots. (Might take a while as I just realised Q needs System as root)

It is just on EOL status for chinese weekly builds, not for stable releases. On MIUI 11 Stable release list its not listed with EOL as of now (https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-11-0-stable-release.52628/). I dont have too many expectations, but one can dream...

[Xiaomi MI9][Problem with MIUI 12 update]

Dear Developers,
I am having an issue with updating my MI9 to MIUI 12. The thing is, I still don't have the update option in the updates. It says "No updates available at the moment". My current version of MIUI is 11.0.6.0. I am asking about this because two of my friends, already updated their MI9s like 3-4 weeks ago. The difference is, my phone was bought on Gearbest, and theirs in the local stores. Could this be the issue?
Thanks in advace.
Greg

This is UPGRADING and not updating: updating means patching an existing Android OS version.
FYI: MIUI9 is based on Android 9 ( Pie ) whereas MIUI12 is based on Android 11 ( RVC ).

Thank you but your answer here is useless. Do how do I force them to upgrade my MIUI 11 to MIUI 12 then? I guess with upgrading my Android as well.

AFAIK OEMs/Carriers NEVER UPGRADE a phone, but only update it if indicated to do so. You cannot force them.

Nope. Huawei has not included the View 10 in the list of devices that will receive Android 11, and as you can see other ROMs have remained in Android 9 because it is not possible to unlock the bootloader.
EMUI 10 on Honor V10 is Android 10.
disable animations and debloat it and.... it's good enough
GSI ROM is now available
https://www.xda-developers.com/developer-boots-android-11-22-older-devices-project-treble-gsi/
Hello all.
So, I hope this device is not completely dead.
Anyone here got the recent GSI roms running on this device and mind post the ready image and flash instructions along with known bugs for this device?
Though I understand why the community left this device... and brand altogether. It will be my last as well. Cheers
I'm not sure if this is the right place. But, what are the requirements to create Android 11 Custom rom for this View 10 device?
