Disable sync and notifications at night (Android 11)? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am trying to find a way to disable sync and notifications at night. The phone is a Japanese Sharp Aquos R3, running Android 11.
I've tried 'Battery' > 'Battery Saver' > 'Set a schedule' but I only see two options there: 'No schedule' and 'Based on percentage'. I've seen screenshots from other brands, they have an extra option 'Based on your routine' but it's not there on my phone, and I'm not even sure it can help.
The other thing I've tried is 'Apps and notifications' > 'Advanced' > 'Notifications' > 'Advanced' > 'Do Not Disturb' > 'Schedules' > 'Sleeping'. Under its settings, I've set 'Start time' to 00:01 and 'End time' to 7:57. Then, under 'Do Not Disturb behaviour', I used the 'Create custom settings for this schedule' where I've only enabled 'Alarms'. Under 'Messages' I've selected 'None'.
This doesn't seem to do what I need. The phone still checks for emails (Gmail app) and blinks the notification light at night; there is no sound, luckily.
What I'm trying to achieve was fairly easy on all my old phones: Sharp Aquos 005SH (2010), Aquos SH-01D (2012), Sharp Aquos SH-01G (2015), Aquos SH-01H (2016). All of these had a manufacturer app called Energy Saving which allowed me to set up a night-time schedule. But not this one.
I also tried extracting Sharp's Eco Mode app from an older phone but it won't install ('App not installed').
If what I need cannot be accomplished using Android's default options, please recommend an app that can do this. I tried Tasker but couldn't really get it to work, creating a profile was a too confusing for me.

[Q] Q : "Slim Bean 4.3 Stable" and sound only profile

Hello,
I want to create a "sound only profile" (only sound for calls and sms, NO vibration) in the "System Settings / General / Profiles" section, but it seems I can't set the correct values to do that
I have played with the "Ring Mode", "Applications Groups", "Vibrate Mode", ... parameters with no luck. Can any1 help me out here?

I'm also on Slim 4.3. I don't actually use the profiles, but having a quick play around with it just now, what happens when you:
1. Pick the settings of a profile (I randomly chose 'Home')
2. Scroll to the bottom of the profile settings
3. Click 'Phone'
4. Turn vibrate off, and sound on.
5. Repeat 3&4 for SMS.
If you also want to disable all vibration in all apps other than the ones specifically listed, then what about repeating steps 3&4 for the 'Other' listing? Ie, two listings above SMS? I would think that would disable all the vibration but make all apps able to play notification sounds, that is for all the apps which aren't specifically listed there. I guess you'd have to configure those individually using steps 3&4.

[Q] Shortcut to Settings > Accessibility > Negative colors?

Note: This might be a Samsung specific setting, I dunno.
I'm new to Android, so making a custom shortcut or script to do something like that is currently out of reach. According to a little research, there is a command (requires root) to toggle "Negative colors". I have tested it and it does work (even though it blocks the regular method from changing that setting until the device is restarted).
echo 1 > /sys/class/mdnie/mdnie/negative
What would be the most user-friendly application to make a shortcut to do that?
Or is there some other way to more quickly and easily toggle Settings > Accessibility > Negative colors?
Thanks.

Accessibility, notification and developer options not keeping checked

Hello,
I recently discovered that some options deselect/uncheck themselves randomly in my stock non updated rooted Honor 7.
The options that are problemantic are:
USB debugging from developer options.
Some apps selected in accessibility options.
Some apps selected in notification handlers.
Does somebody have the same problem?
I tried to create a tasker+SecureSettings profiles to reactivate problematic options "every time" the screen is turned on, but is very energy consuming and not ideal. Besides, many times, the options get unchecked/deactivated anyway (Tasker or SecureSettings fail to apply the change, although the trigger conditions are met.
Has somebody found proper/better solution?
Thanks in advance,
Xavi
i too have same problem,But not able to solve it!!!!(PLK-UL00)
To stop accessibility turning off the app has to be protected. This has to be done through the phone manager app.I had the problem of it turning off in Greenify, now that the app is protected it works fine.

Honor 9 Notification Management - How To Not Use My Phone, pls hlp

Hi folks,
As part of a project to minimise my phone use, I'm wading deep into the murky waters of Honor 9 notification management. Bear with me.
Phone: STF-L09
EMUI: 8.0.0
Android: 8.0.0
Launcher: Nova Prime
2 x Google accounts, personal and work
GMAIL
I don't want to see any notifications from my work e-mail at all, but for my personal email, I'd like to see a status bar icon when I've unlocked the phone and have new messages - no lock screen notifications though! I'm tweaking settings via Gmail App > Settings > {choose account} > Manage Notifications, which takes me into the Huawei 'Notifications management' settings menu for the specified account.
For the work e-mail, I've just toggled 'Allow notifications' to 'off', and job done
For the personal, I've toggled the following settings;
- Allow Notifications - Yes
- Display in the Status Bar - Yes
- Banners - Yes
- Lock Screen Notifications - Never
- Priority Display - Off
- Ringtone - Yes
- Vibrate - Yes
If I go via the phone settings to Settings > Apps and notifications > Apps > Gmail > Notifications, It reflects these settings, with notifications allowed, but then 2 different entries under 'email' reflecting the above.
Despite this, I'm never notified of new emails to my personal account at all. What have I done wrong?
GOOGLE CALENDAR
I want to see lock screen notifications for both of my calendars, but I'd like to hide the content of events in my personal calendar. The settings don't seem to have the same granularity provided to the Gmail app - am I missing something, or is this just a Google oversight/quirk?
Probably more to come as I continue to tweak my set-up

General How to optimize battery consumption on Realme GT2 PRO.

Hello everyone, I put a little tutorial to maximize the battery life of our Realme GT2 Pro.
As I describe, I have my drive configured. If you want, you can inform in the thread what results your phone now shows you with this configuration.
Greetings.
1.- DEACTIVATE AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
In this way we will avoid that the mobile is constantly looking for updates and therefore consuming battery.
1.1- We go to the Play Store and in Settings / Network Preferences / Update applications automatically, we mark not update applications automatically.
1.2- Once this is done, we go to Settings. We follow the path Settings / About Device, click on 3 of Realme UI, now click on the three dots at the top right, in the window that appears click Auto update and then mark the option "Do not allow", so we disable download automatically.
2.- DEACTIVATE THE WIFI ASSISTANT.
This option allows the mobile to automatically change the network, without us having to be aware of it, but it uses the battery unnecessarily. We are going to configure it to do it manually.
We follow the route Settings / Wifi / Wi-Fi Assistant, enter and deactivate the option "Auto connect to the best Wi-Fi".
3.-DEACTIVATE THE PRINTING SERVICES.
We have these services to connect to printers active all the time and the phone will be constantly looking for printers so that we can connect.
We go to Settings and at the top of the search bar we will write print. Click on the only option that comes out, "Default Print Service", once inside we deactivate it and avoid having it in a continuous search.
4.- DEACTIVATE EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM.
We follow the route Settings / About Device / Experience improvement programs and inside we deactivate the two options.
5.- ACTIVATE “OPTIMIZED STANDBY” OPTION.
We follow the path Settings / Battery / Advanced Settings / Optimized Standby, once inside we mark the Balanced Mode option. In this way we minimize energy consumption when the phone is not in use, but without causing delays in receiving messages.
6.- ACTIVATE SMART 5G.
We follow the path Settings / Mobile Network / Advanced Settings, once inside we mark the smart 5G option. We will get it to automatically switch between 5G and 4G reducing battery consumption.
However, in places where there is no good 5G network, it is convenient not to activate it and follow the path Settings / Mobile Network / SIM 1 or 2 / Preferred Network Type and press 4G/3G/2G.
7.- APP QUICK FREEZE
We follow the path Settings / Battery / Advanced Settings / App Quick Freeze.
There we select the apps that we want to restrict their activity in the background.
With this we will restrict the background activity of the selected applications, reducing their activity will also lead to lower battery consumption.
In addition to the above configuration, I also have the following:
Dark mode, manual brightness at 70-80%, Screen Refresh Rate I take it in "High", Screen resolution in FHD +, touch sounds, screen lock sounds, capture sounds, keyboard sounds, all off, vibration off.
In Developer Options:
"Logger buffer sizes", I have it set to 1Mb.
Window animation Scale / Transition animation Scale / Animator duration Scale. All three are by default at 1x, I lowered all three to 0.5x.
Good points ,thanks .
Might also want to include setting screen refresh rate to auto Select
Great guide but I have a question, do you have a smart 5g option? Just got mine today and I'm on the latest version and there is no such toggle.
Disabeling the gaming app also makes a difference for me.
Never used game app. Just disabled ...
If you disable the Google Feed, you also reduce consumption, it will not be active in the background.

That option is no longer there, with the last update it has disappeared
I think the last update also improved battery life
Laat update did indeed update the battery life. I went from 5 to 7 hours on screen time! Very pleased with this.
Glad to hear that. Hopefully more good fixes are coming.
How are you doing with the battery life?
Spoiler: Battery SOT
