Question Wells Fargo / banking apps - Google Pixel 6

Tried to login to the Wells Fargo app after setting up my phone. It will not accept my username/password combination to log into the app but accepts it in the web browser and in the app on my Pixel 5 which has an unlocked bootloader. I have location services off and allowed it rough location when logging in. Is it a problem that the phone is too new or is it related to location.

Damn. had the same problem today!

I would guess that it's a Android 12 issue?
Some apps aren't updated to work on 12, so maybe that's the case for WF app.

Wells fargo is now having issues with android 12 they need to fix their app asap

Cannot access Market :: Google Hosted Apps Email account

Finally google has kicked in, now it doesnt allow people without gmail email address to access the market place. Probably this is due to updates that it brought arround to provide paid apps.
Why should one need to be google binded to use free andorid apps available on market place? For me as of now I cannot access the market place. It says i need to have gmail account. Where as I am using google hosted domain app services and using primary email as [email protected]
Any work arround?
Use gmail as secondary account....
Its googles market and google makes the terms. If you cant accept them, dont use it then. there is plenty of other ways to get apps
Sent from my rooted X10 mini PRO using XDA App
Could you kindly suggest "plenty of other methods", I am dead stuck with dead market, no updates
Just Google it...
Irony as its best

All Google apps accounts are being "upgraded" so that you can use them for things like Reader, Blogger, Youtube and of course Market.
If you are the apps administrator then you will have been sent am email by Google offering you the option of an early upgrade unless you have opted out of mailings!
If not, then sit tight and it will be with you soon. Failing that, just set up a secondary Google account for Market.
I am applied for transition, i hope this solves the issue.

[Q] New 10.1 Tab. Market Question

I got a 10.1 tab last night and it's great. I have one issue maybe you can help me with regarding the market and apps. My wife and I both have android phones and we are sharing the tablet. When I set it up and put in our email addys I went into the market and it was downloading all of the app we have on our phones. Cool feature if I'm replacing my phone, but not for a shared device that I don't need to be identical to our phones. Is there a way to not make it do this? The thought I have is to create a dummy account for both of us but then it seems like it will be weird to use gmail app and stuff like that.
Thanks!
wait what?
Are both you using the same Google Account?
No shared accounts. I put in both of our gmails under, settings then accounts. Now we can switch between the 2 accounts in the gmail app but I hate that the market downloaded each of our phone apps.
It's because there is a setting when you first ran the market or setup your gmail on the tablet. It's the option where you allow Google to download previously purchased apps off the market and because your phone uses the same account, Google assumes you want the same apps, if the app is compatible with tablet. Remember purchase can be paid or free apps. It won't sync again like that after the first time unless you decide to reformat and you don't uncheck that box again.

[Q] Google Play Store granted permission to receive SMS?

Hi,
I just bought my first Android - Samsung Galaxy Note. The only other mobile I have ever owned was a blackberry curve and I never installed a single app on it.
My Question: What reason does Google Play Store 3.5.16 have to require the following permissions?
Your Messages - Receive SMS
Your accounts - Act as account authenticator, manage the accounts list, use the authentication credentials of an account
Phone Calls - Read phone status and ID
The other permissions that it requests I can somewhat understand, but why on earth does it need access to my SMS? My accounts and my phone calls?
Sincerely,
dustfingr
For example, if you browse Google Play on your PC, the process of installing an app onto you phone is simplified by sending the app link to your phone. That's why Google Play requires Receive SMS permissions.
Also I don't know exactly, but maybe it's required for bying apps using SMS and phone calls.

It needs the 2nd permission so that it can use your Google account to access the market. The rest of the things it can do with that permission are just tied into the permission itself and not necessarily used.
The 3rd permission is in order to identify the phone type so that it can link your device to your account and only be able to install apps that are meant to work on it.
As for the SMS permission, I have no idea about that one but it's nothing to do with remote installation or being able to install other apps that require that permission.
Did you try Googling for this info? I'd imagine Google would have more information on this than anyone else.

[Q] YouTube app broken - "There was a problem with the network [500]"

After one of the recent updates to the youtube app, I haven't been able to watch any videos. No matter what I do in the app, I always get the error "There was a problem with the network [500]" and the loading icon just spins forever. This happens on launch, when searching, and when being linked in from outside the app.
I've gotten this error before on older versions of the app, but it never prevented me from using the app. I have a feeling it has to do with my youtube account/email associated with my google account being suspended (happened years ago for uploading clips from a concert I went to, which is BS since youtube is full of them now).
Anyways, does anyone know what I can do to make the app work again? Is there a way to add an alternate youtube account? The "sign in" option does not allow me to specify an email.
I'm using a Nexus 7 on 4.2 and a Razr Maxx on 4.1.2 and Youtube app version 4.2.16
Figured out how to associate the app with a different account. Add another google account to your device, then clear data for the youtube app (or un/reinstall if it's not a system app). Launch the app and it will let you select which account to use.
Works perfectly

Adding non-google accounts

I would like to switch to Chrome OS for "industrial" use by installing android apks on Chrome instead of Android and benefiting from a better remote management and OS version control/updates.
However one apk to be installed requires, for licensing, that a specific account be registered on the system.
On Android, you go to "accounts" and then add it - it is a simple mail account, though that could be a Gmail/Google account - but the same account will have to be deployed on the fleet of devices, so many devices on one account.
Do we have the same possibility on Chrome OS?
Thanks,
Nicolas
Ask Dev. For volume licensing?

Are you asking if you can set up accounts on ChromeOS' Android subsystem? If so, the answer is yes- via the Android Settings. Works exactly the same as within Android itself.
If you're trying to set up an email account specifically-- you can use Gmail accounts with the Gmail Android app (which would use Account Settings as described above). You can use the web app via mail.google.com. Or if you want to go outside google, you can use something like K-9 mail (which you can get via the Play Store or via F-Droid or even build and deply yourself) and set that up just like any other Android app.
Hope this answers the question.
