Question Smart Lock fingerprint unlock 'feature' - Google Pixel 6

I have Smart Lock enabled using my Bluetooth watch.
By design, I think Smart Lock times out after 4(?) hrs, right?
At that point it seems I have to use PIN unlock, and the phone will not offer fingerprint unlock. Is that right/a bug/a "feature". Annoying, anyway.

I thought it was random but I believe you are correct and it will force you to use a PIN and not the FP scanner. I have this as well but didn't think much of it until you made the connection here.
cheers

I thought this was silly too, but then I read that fingerprints are actually considered less secure than pins:

Thanks! I just installed it and am liking it a lot! One thing that could be better would be more/custom gestures; I really like swiping in from the right, but it can hinder simple touch presses on the right-side of the screen

try this, i use it on my phone all the time. it doesnt work off of a fling, but it lets you adjust several different grids in several locations, i put mine on top left, i RARELY trigger it with a simple tap

+1 for Weather Flow. Love it on my 920.
how do I enable the lockscreen weather? don't get it.
When you install it, and run it, it will pop up that question.
All you have to say is "Yes".
and then you will be man & wife.
if it only did not have that accuweather.com on top...
Nice app, works well, but...no matter what I do, it still gives me severe storm alerts. I guess the storm alert slider isn't functional.

[Q] Which type of lock do you prefer and why?

There are various ways to lock phone or apps.
Given all kinds of locks are available in your smartphone, which one will you use most frequently?
And why?
Password
Pattern
FingerPrint
FaceLock
Voice Lock
Fake Cover
others?
Note: Fake Cove is a tricky way of showing your phone/apps being locked.
If some intruders try to access your phone, he/she will be confused and give up intruding.
Fake Cover is better for sake of less awkward situation.
Here are some examples:

}
PS: I am just explaining what is Fake Cover, not trying to tell you the strong points of it.
Do not let my explanation affect your choice.
I need more anticipants for this poll~~~
When you choose `Other`, could you please tell me what is it exactly?
None. With how easy they are to bypass and the fact that no one touches my devices there is no need for one for me.

I think locks are not only for against intruders, but also for thieves.
If your phone got lost by accident, locks can secures your data, since we all have so many valuable data stored in cellphone.

Best wake and sleep flip cover

Any idea for a good wake and sleep flip case?
I have a MOFI wake and sleep case, but want a better one, i seached nearly whole Aliexpress, Amazon and Ebay, without any luck [emoji848]
You mean a cover that support the smart cover option? I'm also looking for that. I found this one: https://www.giztop.com/accessories/...ther-stand-case-for-huawei-honor-note-10.html
Smart sleep, wake up function. Just open your device, it will wake up, shut down the case, your device will re-enter sleep.

But don't know if it realy works with Honor smart cover option. Mostly you must download an apk and that app must be in the background everytime and i don't want that.

Honor had very nice original smart view flip cases for Note 8, but i did not find one for the Honor Note 10

Got this case today: https://www.giztop.com/accessories/...ther-stand-case-for-huawei-honor-note-10.html
And it works with Huawei smart wake function, so no need to download a apk app.

lock screen flashlight shortcut toggled by tap

This is too specific for googling,
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If you go into settings > lock screen > shortcuts
and then place flashlight as one of the shortcuts (which I recommend by the way), and lets say, place camera on the other side..
For some reason, the flashlight is (also) toggled by tap rather then swipe like the other widgets.
(same thing for the Do Not Distrub mode)
This causing a lot of accident toggles from edge palm holding and I find my flashlight on by accident multiple times..
I couldn't find any way to change the way the flashlight is toggled, swipe is perfectly fast enough for me and secure enough to avoid accidental toggles.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thanks!
I had the same issue and after the last update, it went back to swipe.
