Question Pixel 6 no data help! - Google Pixel 6

HI guys I bought an unlocked pixel 6 from google store and I cant get mobile data when I'm using my MetroPcs sim (USA)
but when I'm putting my sim in my previous Oneplus 6 its working just fine!
what should I do?
Tnx.
BTW i performed a Data reset on the pixel already.

Use the Metro App to change the sim card over to the new phone. Metro needs the IMEI from the phone for service to work. Using the app is free, calling can cost you $20.

Are there different sim cards/imei's for different phones?

Got a lot of conflicting info on this.
1.Are different sims given for smart vs dumbphones? 3G vs 4G? Etc
Ie: will a smartphone not access 4g on a GoPhone sim?
2.Can a Rep on the phone identify your phone by the imei?
Thank you for any enlightening!
I may be wrong but I think the gophone sim works differently than a regular sim, there are att sims that say 3g but they work just the same as the new sim cards att is using, as far as the rep being able to tell ur phone make and model by the imei that's a yes for sure, they can detect what phone you have without you giving them that info and slap the $25 2gb data plan on your account.

To put it simply- if the network system knows that X phone has X IMEI or even model code it shows when it connects (I777 vs say I9100) and its endorsed by them, then they'll know what it is.
Do you want to know this to avoid paying ridiculous data fees? If so, get an international unlocked/unbranded phone that your carrier never had/in their system. I've been milking dumbell data rates on my Nokia E series phones for years now and not because I use the balls out of the data, but to have that unlimited/cheap peace of mind.
When I upgraded from my Captivate to the SGS2, the AT&T clerk said I needed the 4G sim card and installed one.

I received the same treatment. With my last five phones, I've only been able to swap out the SIM cards twice — once because I bought a phone on Craigslist.
Really? I'm still on my, what is it, 4-5 year old 3G sim and no problems whatsoever.

I was on my old 3g Sim card as well but when i got the sgsii it wouldn't connect to the "phone" APN, i had to use the old "wap.cingular" APN. The old 3g Sims aren't provisioned on AT&T's network to access hspa.
Before getting a new Sim card, i would never get over 3Mbps down. Now i average 5 and on good days it'll peak to 7-10.
to answer the question about different Sim cards for smart phones or dumb phones; pretty sure they use the same card because when i went the other day to get a new Sim, the rep just grabbed one from a stack and activated it, there was only one stack. Also it would cost more and bee more confusing for them as company to do that.
And at&t can identify a phone over the network only if that phone is familiar to them. So if you bought an AT&T sgsii off craigslist/ebay/friend and plug in your Sim card, they'll be able to tell.
If you buy a phone that isn't sold/recognized by AT&T, most of the time they can't tell what the device.
A good check is after you put the Sim in your phone, wait a couple hours then log onto your account online and if it shows a picture of the phone your using, they can detect it.

I have this as a gophone. They gave me a normal sim card not the go phone sim card. It has hspa + also.

Well sim doesn't really determine what your plan allows you to do, so sims are dime a dozen. I may consider upgrading my sim if they'll be able to put my current number on a newer sim, else I'm not really concerned too much. (and, for your laughs, I'm still only using Edge to avoid having gutter battery).

this is only partly true. IF you have a att phone they can detect what type of phone you have by your IMEI #. that number is cataloged in their systems however if you have a European phone or a unlocked phone from another carrier then no they cannot tell what phone you have.
as for sims there are 2 different types of sims (go phones I dont know) there is the regular sized sims and the micro sims. Micro's for att are used for iphone 4 and up and I believe they are the only phone for att that uses the micro sim. As for functionality of the sims no the old sims (3G) work with thier HSPA+ just the same.....

Same thing when I upgraded. But my sim was a few years old and pretty scratched up from being put in different phones so I figured even if it would work it was time to be replaced anyway.
When I bought the sgs2 the clerk was surprised I still had my Cingular Sim card and suggested I get the new one. I got to keep my Cingular relic.

The only problem I've run into is my mms stopped working a few days after using the phone and I'm on a gophone account. My inspire works fine. Not sure if they ran an imei sweep and the sgii doesnt play nice with gophone accounts. They still had my imei as an old nokia flip phone. You don't have to have data on a gophone, but if you want internet you'll need to buy a gophone data package.
You mean you need an unlimited $50 type GoPhone account right? No one needs a data account above and beyond that.
I bought a cheap GoPhone $50 plan today...using that sim in my Note AI get tomorrow.

[Q] No reception on particular netowrk

Hi there Im new here so Ill explain to the best I can.
I have an xperia Z2 got it over a month ago from a friend not a store so I wouldn't be able to use warranty on it
One day the phone lost signal Im on 3 UK btw.
I always have full reception in my house and sometimes 4g too
Ive tried my T mobile sim on the phone and it works perfectly.
What I have tried:
1. Testing my sim on another phone and it works (HTC One m8)
2. Putting another 3 sim in the phone (my brothers) no signal
3. Changed settings to only use 4g/3g/ and both still no help
4. Trying in another location
5. Ive tried re downloading the network settings
After trying all these I still dont get reception on 3
Right now I am using my HTC One M8 which I dont like that much.
Thanks in advance.

Put your simcard in
Go to settings
Go to more
Go to mobile networks
Wait for it to search
Select 3 if it shows up
Working?
No?
Try backing up your data
Repair via Sony PC Companion> support zone
If it still does it
Try contacting sony Service centre as this then is a device defect, you should be able to get a free replacement or repair as Z2 comes with a 2 year warrenty from sony

Is it really registered to 3 network? Maybe your 3 simcard can be faulty one/broken? It happened to my mom's SIM card too, she suddenly lost all connection to network and I checked settings and inserted my sim card and it worked, I reccomend her to take sim card to shop and assistant confirmed that there sim card is faulty, and replaced it without any fee! Yeah it happens sometime.

Faulty SIM card most probably. (Considering that another SIM card works without any problems on the same phone.)

OnePlus 2 and AT&T LTE Fix

After getting my Oneplus 2, I went to the store to get my nano SIM as I still had my micro SIM from my OPO. When I went to the store to get my SIM the CSR scanned my OP2 IMEI. Since this is not recognized by AT&T as a known device, you will be unable to get LTE. If you simply swap the IMEI back to a supported device (can be just a demo phone on the floor) and LTE will be restored. Hope this is helpful to some!

So if I just go ask for a Nano Sim and don't let them scan my lmei my lte will work? Which version do you have?
They don't need your IMEI. Just tell them you need a new nano sim.
Then do this: Go to Settings and under Wireless & networks select "More". Then go to Cellular Networks->Access Point Names and change your APN to "ATT LTE / pta". Press the back button on the top left, reboot and walla.
How about if you currently get LTE on your OPO with AT&T, when you receive your OPT shouldn't it be as easy as cutting your sims to a nano size and putting it in the OPT and receive an LTE signal?
Yup, just make sure you have the correct APN selected.
I'm on AT&T and got LTE with no issues. It just took like 15 mins after first installing sim card.
I got LTE just fine as well when I got my OPT. The APN it's currently set on is "ATT Phone".
I got LTE no problems removing my sim from my nexus 6 to the OP2.

I had the same issue coming from the OPO to the OPT. I just went up to the AT&T store and the guy immediately recognized my OPT and got me set up with a new nano sim in less than 5 minutes. He didn't need to look at my phone or old sim. They have everything they need in the system to activate your new nano sim. After installing the new sim it only took about a minute to get an LTE signal and start making calls. Hope this helps!
I'm on Cricket, which is owned by ATT. I got a new Nano, called up Cricket to activate it and I've had LTE since. They did require the IMEI for the OPT however. I did a speed test and managed to get around 6-7MPBS which is normal since Cricket is throttled to 8MPBS on ATT's network.
Out of curiosity, are you guys not getting the LTE icon? Or just not getting LTE speeds?
what band is AT&T ?

I just popped in my SIM Card and was up and running immediately with ATT/LTE. No edits to the APN required.

I strolled into the AT&T store, told them I go back and forth from OnePlus to Note 4 (for work) and that I needed a new Nano Sim. They don't say a word, NOR CAN THEY, so tell them to walk off a bridge if they do.
I got LTE immediately, but I also am trying out the ATT LTE and PTA APNS if anyone has any experience with either let me know which they think works better.
I just cut down and sanded my micro sim from my OPO, then I did the same with my AT&T Hotspot from work. Now I use my sim for voice and the 2nd sim for data since it's on a 100 GB pool that's hardly used.
Got my OPT last week and needed a new AT&T sim card, as my previous phone's was too large. They did scan my IMEI at the store to enable the device on their network. I have been unable to get LTE and I just wasted an hour on the phone with AT&T with a guy that kept putting me on hold to speak with his supervisor. At the end he told me that unlocked devices are not compatible with the AT&T LTE network.
I am waiting for a call back from a supervisor now.
Any suggestions as to what I should ask AT&T to do to enable my LTE at this point?

That's crazy. I bet your outcome would be different if you call back and talk to a different rep. I walked in and had them give me two nano sim cards without any hesitation. The guy did say he thought this phone was China only, but that's it. Took about 5 minutes.

I have metro pcs and when I inserted my Sim card in got nothing, is there another step I need to take? Anyone's have this problem or a possible solution ?
Have you guys tried the T-mobile apn settings? I'm currently running on walmart Family plan with T-mobile apn. But I've had my on metro. Also with the T-mobile apn settings.
I just called metro gave them the imei number put the sim card in the phone and and it worked
Works just fine for me on Ghettro PCS
Call metro with imei
With metro pcs you have to call them and give them the imei number, that's the only way it will work,no matter if it's a metro phone or unlock phone you ever got to take it to the store so they can activate it or call them and give them the imei.if you put the sim in with out doing one of the 2 nothing will happen..but yes the Verizon s6 edge plus do work on Metro, using metro on one now..all Verizon phones or tablets come unlock and will work on any network...
Took my SM-G20v to metro store twice .... first time the young woman who helped my wife swap out device clearly had no idea what she was doing lol because the phone could only make calls and receive txt msgs upon sim swap out. Took phone back a few days later and Reworked the APN settings from Verizon.Internet to metro.fast and now am fully functioning on Verizon s6
Update fix , clear cache ,clear storage , needed your ,first I do this no no else help me . Please don't lie to me . Needed your assistance today ,if aren't busy

Honor 8 behaving like it's locked?

I've a problem with my new Honor 8. I have a Vodafone contract SIM in slot 1 and when I went abroad to St Lucia I bought a local SIM (flow) for slot 2 and switched over to activate that in the settings. A Simple process i have not done before on this phone but have on my previous Motorola Moto G4. The problem is the only network the phone could see was the other carrier on the island (Digicel) who Vodafone use if I used world traveler plus at £6 a day. The SIM worked fine in my friends Samsung J4 so the SIM was OK. I tried the Flow SIM in SIM1 and it still didn't work.? again it detected the Digicel network but not flow? I tried auto search and manual search?. Actuated roaming and mobile data. Re-started the phone countless times. It's like the phone is behaving as if it's locked for Vodafone only (which is what the guys in the flow shop said?) but I bought the phone from Huawei direct through Amazon as unlocked?
It should be simple and straightforward?. I've checked and re-checked the settings many times
Any ideas?
