Background menu is not the same as wallpaper - Sony Xperia 1 Questions & Answers

Hii, i need some help here i just bought sony xperia 1 , and i noticed when i changed my wallpaper, when i swipe up the menu, the background is black ( I'm using dark mode). I have another android phone, when i open up the menu, the background is similar to the current wallpaper or a bit vivid. Thankyou.

go to app settings
on the upper left click 3 dots to show the system apps.
Under apps search wallpaper.
there are 4/5 apps named wallpaper cropper, wallpaper, wallpaper xxx etc.
clear data of these apps and restart.
Default wallpaper will be applied.

I think it's because I'm using the dark theme, but still, when i turned off the dark theme, the menu background is white

[Q] [SOLVED] Gaps in App Drawer

My girlfriend has the X10 mini and when she removes an app from the phone, the icon is removed from the app drawer as expected but it leaves a space where the icon used to be which is never reused whn a new app is installed
she has several of these gaps now, has anybody else had this problem or know how to fix it or refresh the list maybe?
example screenshots

You should get a launcher like ADW. It has a much better drawer. There's no comparison between it and Sony's one.
The x10 mini's launcher tray is different from the trays of other launchers that just list the apps in alphabetical order - you can reorder them yourself - press the menu button, then select "Arrange icons" and you can drag the icons into a new order (so you can drag other apps to fill your spaces, or organise the apps by type, etc)

I think LauncherPro only works on Android version 2 and up.
Yeh i found the gaps that were left behind a bit annoying... but i also found scrolling through each page at a time and remembering where each app was annoying as well as i started to rack up quite a few pages and the app drawer always loads at the page u were last on.
But now i use helix launcher which puts it all in alphabetical order which i did found annoying at first as i wasnt used to it but getting familiar with what apps u have and what they're called as well as being able to see more apps on the screen and scrolling down to the bottom with 1 swipe makes it a winner!
If your gf doesnt regularly download lots of apps and uninstall them i'd suggest to just rearrange/shift the apps into the gaps for her or get her to herself.

Dark settings menus

I've looked quite long for this mod, finally!! Maybe im just slow
A theme with simple dark background in settings menu
And it is possible, and it's looking okay. except for the status/nav bar color
(but that can be sorted with translucent effect with another app, but i didn't bother)
I just wanted to share.
1. rooted device with supersu
2. xposed framework installed (http://dl-xda.xposed.info/modules/de.robv.android.xposed.installer_v33_36570c.apk)
3. download Holo Themer module from inside framework
4. select 'settings' from the list and choose dark and save
it's possible with other apps too

Wow, I always had black themes on my phones and this is one is good as well. Well, have to wait for a new root method.
I do believe root isn't necessary for something like this, I for example use the Material Orange L, and it works for everything on my phone.
There are a few themes on the Play Store e.g. Theme eXperiance™ - Space. I am a bit new to android but I did program in java a few years ago.
I will eventually get to tempering around with the themes and making a black orange one as it is my dream theme
(unless someone makes one before me).
Please do this. I tried it and did not succeed. I never figured out how to change the font color in settings. The background is quite easy but the font color is a different story. I have to change it to white so that it is readable on a black background.
Send me the apk/source pls

I use the following theme: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.maksmayer.themes.abstractlime&hl=en
I only changes the semc_bg_light_tile.png into the dark version. The Problem now is that I need to change the font color to white or something bright so that you can read the text on the dark background.
Please keep in mind that the theme has to work without root, so I can't use XPOSED.
I attached the modified version of the theme to use the dark background.
It would be great if you could tell me what file I have to edit to change the font color.
Thanks.

Settings > Display > Home Screen is unavailable??

When I first got my Tab S3, I adjust some of the settings on the home screen, such as the grid size and if the icons are shown with the frame behind them or not. (I chose no frame) I went back later to change the settings again and found that both the Home Screen and Icon Frames menu items are grayed out. (See screenshot)

Tapping on them highlights them, but otherwise does nothing.
I contacted Samsung and not only do they not have a solution, but they are not aware of anyone else having the same problem.
Can you access these settings on your tablet? If not, provide your tablet build number.

Grayed out for me as well. But I've changed my default launcher to apex and got rid of some samsung bloat ware so i don't know if that is causing this.

Change default launcher to SHome and those grayed out options should be back.
I should have mentioned in my original post that I have not installed any alternate launchers on this device.

Try this , install a third party launcher , set it as default. Reboot , and go to settings -->Applications --> default applications and set SHome as default and see if you can see the settings.

Question Material You - Android 12 / Realme UI 3.0

Hello! Anyone know why Material You doesn't work in this device (I'm not sure if it doesn't work in general or this is the problem with my device)? The color accent of Google apps (Gboard, Calendar, Messages, Gmail) is always blue/turquoise no matter which wallpaper is setup. Material You worked like a charm in my previous device (GT Neo 2 updated to Android 12 / Realme UI 3.0) so the color accent changed every time when new wallpaper was chosen. Any ideas, what's wrong?
Same problem here.
For me the most Apps are Brown
So this update is garbage. All Google apps have weird colors. Google drive in piggy pink.
This is just rubbish and unfortunately not changeable.

Interesting, so it seems that your colour accent is default than mine. Is the color of the Google apps changing with wallpaper? Could you post a screenshot here?

@Meteorman so it's totally different than mine. Look at the screenshots, mine is kinda blue, and the colour is consistent between all Google apps

Could you change the wallpaper, remove Chrome from recent apps and then open it again (to reload app) and check if the accent has changed?

I close Chrome and the other Apps and change the wallpaper. When I change the wallpaper to a blueish picture it is normal this is my wallpaper I have before. When the Apps are a little Brown
I've just received an update to RMX3301_11_A.15 and it works as desired. I believe that we can close the thread.
Excellent news. Glad the update worked to resolve the issue.
For me the Apps are still Brown

Question Weird colors on Google search widget.

For some reason my colors changed on my Google search widget and I have no idea why or how to get it back to normal.
I have tried to reset it in the settings. I have changed it to different colors etc but nothing works. Not even deleting it and putting it back works.
The even stranger thing is that when I change the text from a "G" to "Google" that part shows the correct colors.
Anyone have similar problem and know how to fix it?

Could it be that setting that changes system colors to match your wallpaper? If you check your settings, wallpaper I think.. Maybe when there's just a G it gets applied the system coloring?

What you mean? You mean One UI 5.1 ?
If you do not know what it means, and you set the device up, then it is stock. Try removing the widget, clearing googles cache, and re-adding.
Additionally, try turning on material you, saving, and then turning off.
Neither worked.
The funny thing is when i restart the phone it shows the correct colors but only for a second then it goes back to the "wrong" colors.
It's definitely something that happens with Googles latest update.
I reverted the google app back to it's standard version and it works without problem. As soon as i update the app to it's latest version the problem arrives.
Im not sure thou how to get rid of the problem with the latest version.
It's like the phone applies another color scheme for the widget (and only the widget) even thou i don't have anything set to do so.

Do you want it to be just black or white? You can go into the Google app and under settings there is a sub menu for the Google widget settings.

I've got the same issue. All Google widgets shifted from "Classic Dark theme" to some red-ish Dark... Did you find a solution ?
