Question Android 12 App Switching is terrible - Google Pixel 6

App switching screen on Android 12 is pretty bad. So easy to make mistakes, always unintentionally swiping down or up. I haven't used Android 11, not sure if they are same . Came from iOS.

I came from an lg v20 with android 8 on it and i prefer how it was done on there but with the new app switcher screen I have to say I love the easy screenshot, url sharing, and text selection on screens that are otherwise not text selectable so I guess that makes up for it.
What i dont like is the screen isnt very responsive to touch with my tempered glass screen protector unless I force 90hz in developer options. Speakers sound like crap compared to my v20 , and of course no easily removable battery, no microsd slot, no headphone jack and no ir remote sucks too but as far as I know there isnt a single good flagship phone out there that still has all those.
I only bought a new phone because the v20 became unbearably slow and good new batteries are hard to come by anymore, I also need it for developing AR apps.

By default, they use a bunch of hideous gestures.
Go into System Settings --> Accessibility --> System controls, and change "System navigation" to "3-button navigation". That will give you three nice buttons on the bottom edge of the screen... back, home, and task switcher.

Checked this out too, but you get the ancient Android 7-or-8 like buttons. Much rather see the Pixel 3's buttons placed on the bottom.
Although the gestures are a bit finicky, it took me a while to get used to, but now I've got it under control.

Its not about "ancient", its about EFFECTIVE. The 3-button menu bar is the only option that has ever existed that doesn't involve indecypherable/inconvenient gestures.

I'm 99.99% positive that you replied to some kind of scammer. They created a profile to report this on a random forum? I reported the user, if there is any legitimacy, forum admin can sort that out and deal with it.

[HOW TO] Increase touch sensitivity and Double-Tap-To-Wake Functionality(Force Touch)

First of all, thanks to @xtermmin for pointing me in the right direction for this.
Steps to increase touch sensitivity and get DTTW functioning better:
Download Shortcut Master Lite
Hit the ellipsis at the top right and click App Explorer (Yes to the error)
Tap anywhere to get the loading circle to go away and find something called Force Touch
In the Force Touch menu, select ZteLCDPressureSettings and hit Launch
Here you will find some options.
Tap Pressure Sensitivity and move the red dot slider all the way to the left where the green "Light" is.
Back out of the menu and you are done.
There are some other things under features that may be of interest as well to some people.
Additionally, there are a couple other items in the Force Touch menu that could play a role in ROMs down the line. The "Press Image" option has a toggle within that item but it does not stick upon backing out and reentering the menu.
If you find anything else of interest, please let everyone know so we can make this the best phone we've ever owned.
Thanks!
Awesome, T2W works better now.... Thanks
P. S. Adding your thread to my all in one place guides.

This definitely helped! Kinda odd that there is a slight delay from when you double tap and when it actually wakes. I remember the LG G2 responding more quickly with this feature. Also miss the double tap to lock screen too that almost no other phone had (though with nova launcher and an app, you can do this). Regardless, I'm glad the functionality is there.
What's interesting about this little hack is that it clearly is using the force touch settings that will be found in the 6GB RAM model that has a force touch display. Funny how it remains in the ROM anyway, just tucked away since this model doesn't use force touch.
Can I remove the vibration when I use the double tap to wake?
This has made 0 difference for me. I've got a 64gb US variant. I've also noticed double tap to wake stops working when the phone is in Doze. Anyone else have this issue?
Same same with doze, but when my phone isn't deeply asleep this tip indeed increased touch sensitivity.

It's there by default on the US model, at least.
While this definitely improves DT2W functionality, it's still temperamental. I find that now it responds best to very light touches, but harder taps are ignored. If I tweak it to be less sensitive, it does exactly that: it requires a harder touch at all times. Why can't it just respond to a range of touches? My G3 worked just fine in this regard.

Totally agree with this. It's still very inconsistent, but mine does work if I slam it twice as well as tap it lightly twice. It doesnt always work and it's still delayed. This was sort of a bandaid for a bigger problem though. I hope CM, and ....probably nothing else? at this point...can address it further.

At EU version I don't see any option for vibration so far.
But totally agree I would like to be more response to a range of touch.
I remember when had LG flex 2 was better implementation than ZTE.
Hope future update improve that.

Quite honestly, the Axon 7's story is perpetually: "[insert company here] did a better job of implementing [insert feature here]". There is very little (if anything) that the Axon 7 does better than the big manufacturers, IMO. It does a passable (sometimes even decent) job of most things, though - and at an appreciable discount - which is why I still have mine. It's a budget flagship. It's high-trim Toyota versus a Lexus. Add to that the potential for improvements via software (which is the source of many of my complaints, really), and I think it's a solid buy with quirks I'm willing to live with for a little while as ZTE steps up and makes improvements.
Yep exactly from hardware point is very very capable device but from software although it's pretty good level but there's still staff for many improvements.
Axon 7 is my first Chinese smartphone from Chinese company until now and I'm quite pleased with the all package offering having it 5-6 days, but I would like to see from ZTE much more effort and listening the user base and bring as much improvement and tweaks to the software.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Known issues (EMUI 9)

So here are the issues I've found since last week that I've had the phone:
-Autobrightness even if autobrightness is off: The screen dims when opening certain apps. I remember this happening to my old Mate 10, and it hasn't been fixed yet, because Huawei considers this a feature, while it's something so annoying.
-Bluetooth audio not sync: The normal behaviour in any other phone is to control the volume of media with the Bluetooth headphones, but with the Mate 20 Pro it's independent, so you have to adjust 2 volumes.
-Unwanted notifications: You can't get rid of the "displaying over other apps" unless you have a third-party app running in the background, and probably causing you some other issues.
-Unwanted status bar icons: now, with the notch, there's so little space for app's icons, so it would be great if we could remove useless icons (they'll be useful or useless depending on which person) like the alarm clock icon, the silent mode icon... to give more space to other apps that can be more useful.
-No IA Video, no portrait lightning: some phones come with the 108 update, an OTA needs to come (it came yesterday for some phones), to enable all the functionality.
100%. Love the thread...good idea!
To those posting here...it'd be a GREAT help to other M20P users or prospective buyers if your CONFIRMED software issue has been patched or resolved after a manual reboot or software update.
As for anyone else who reads this and agrees. GO ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER + OTHER FORUMS FORUMS AND THEIR WEBSITE and demand they be fixed for the excessively priced premium flagship!
RoOSTA
I liked to add if you use YouTube Premium with gesture more enabled, you no longer have picture in picture.
Just background audio playing.

Want to add my two cents:
The Mate 20 phones introduces a new swiping navigation system that is very very similar to Xiaomis implementation.
After using iPhone X I do find traditional Android buttons outdated and waste of screen space so I like huaweis swiping alot.
BUT while swiping works great on stock emui, it doesn't work well with Nova launcher. Whenever I have Nova installed the swipe up to go home animation becomes jerky and unpleasant. So basically my dilemma has been to choose between huaweis awesome swipe gestures but put up with emui's tacky icons and outdated app tray and stupid iOS ripoff system wide search menu whenever I swipe down, or use Nova and be forced to go back to on screen buttons.

I've had the phone for 1hr, and I'm really disappointed. Not a fan of the vibration motor in this phone.
I agree, EMUI feels like IOS in some areas. I'm really not a fan of some aspects, like the notification area.
Also had the phone for just over an hour. Not impressed at all. Huawei phone clone didn't work, taking at least 5 minutes to update each app and still going, setting a picture as screen saver from Google photos can put it blurry. Coming from an HTC u12 I'm very disappointed so far. Haven't even got around to diving into anything else yet but the set up is a chore
Interesting, this process is really easy on the P20 Pro
I have problem with video camera function.
It seem the stand 1x zoom is very big. And if i zoom out to 0.6x the video image is very blurry.
Can someone check wheter they have the same problem.
I got mine today and I found a couple of issues.
First of all, there is no sound equaliser at all. This means having to download a third party one, which lowers the overall volume. By default, a flat EQ on this device rounds very tinny with muddy lows.
I got around this by downloading Equalizer Pro and playing with it for like an hour.
The other issue is much worse for me. If you set the display scaling in Developer options to anything higher than its default (423 I believe), the general device scaling is great (For example, I set it to 550 and the settings app looks lovely) however the notifications and screen popups become HUGE. To the point where they are physically overlapping off of the screen. Then when restarting the phone it resets again to 423. This also forces widgets in other launchers (such as Nova) to completely disappear, meaning you have to remove and re-add them.
I'm not very happy at the moment. Any ideas would be great. Unfortunately I don't want to root anything otherwise Ill end up losing my mobile banking apps etc (and the previous experience I've had with Magisk has been grotesque)...

got mine today from O2. On build 108 and I have th elack of AI video options.
No problems migrating from my other phone, just chose to restore from cloud backup via google account, didn't mess around wth Phone Clone.
Connects to a 5ghz wifi network (TalkTalk new style router which I think may be a Huawei as well) without any issues, getting around 43mb throughput on the downstream which given I only max at around 53 on a wired connection to my laptop is more than acceptable.
Havent bothered messing around with launchers, just chose a nicer theme which also skinned (most of) the icons.
Swipe gesture are put of Android Pie I believe rather than being EMUI specific (although there are some extra ones)

Single SIM, No Case.
TBH I don't know why Huawei (or other manufacturers bother with a Dual & Single SIM version of the same device.
Cant be that much difference in the cost price of the hardware and especially when like the Mate 20 Pro the SIM tray is either Single SIM + NM or Dual Sim with the option of using a NM card instead of a SIM in slot 2

Actually not so much of an issue but an observation (and it may be common to other devices with curved edges) and it may simply be that it's something new for me.
When using the keyboard its mildly annoying when some of the characters at the extreme edges disappear over the curve.
Again it may be just because I'm not used to it yet
You'll want to try and get .122 firmware on that as soon as possible. 108 was stable for me but was missing some functions (AI video, Google Pay, and a few other bits) that 122 (rumoured to be final fw) has. Enjoy!
My main problem is most 3rd party launchers don't work and there's still some bloat you can't uninstall/disable.

LED notification alternatives

I guess will be nice if we discuss how to achieve some kind of notification on our displays without draining the battery. Smartwatch is good way to deal with it, but let's keep to the phone itself. Most wanted feature is to have recurrent notifications. I invested some time in trying some apps and these are my "5 cents":
- Always On Edge- this is the program I prefer to use so far and will explain why. It lights up the edges and could be set to be recurrent. With many settings about almost everything. Just don't forget to save the settings after changing things. It works most of the time, but it's a bit tricky- don't let the system to control it (to stop it)- you can do it from battery management. And from my experience- use the power button to turn off the screen (or just leave it to turn off). Using some additional programs (like JButton and Fluid gestures) activate more secure mode (could be wrong) and prevent the notification blinking. The good is that it's relatively battery friendly.
- LED Blinker Notifications - always working, nice customization. Shows colored circles on the screen in Awlays On Display manner. Can set different color for different app and random position (to avoid burn-in). The bad- spends a lots of power and the battery is going down fast. And is way pricier. I bought it anyway to test it, but probably will stay unused.
- Glimpse Notifications- works (almost) always. The problem is that will either light up your screen (drains battery, because wakes up the CPU) or makes a vibration or a sound. This could be annoying for everyone.
- integrated Always On Screen feature in our phones- works fine, shows icons with the notifications. Nice solution, but spends about 1% battery per hour (on my phone). This is the whole consumption of the phone of course, but I think that this is 1.5-2 times more than regular consumption. It's good solution anyway.
I use the following combination:
- Always On Display with clock + notification icons
- Always On Edge (rainbow crashes around the edges + clock + notifications)
- phone is in DND
- Xiaomi Mi Band 3 vibrates

I don't want to hear anything from the phone. Just want to be notified in a visual (AOD + AOE) and haptic (Mi Band 3) way.
I assume screen or display is both fine
Hi
I'm also looking for a solution since I miss the LED so much. I'm currently with Always On Edge, but I'm not happy with it. It drains the battery quite a lot, even when I don't get a lot of notifications.
I had days where the stats do report 90 min cpu including 50 min in background. It's quite unrealistic that it had to blink that long during the whole day.
If somebody has a better alternative (also playing together with the fingerprint unlock), please let me know.
Better to check the mAh that are consumed, than the CPU and the screen time. It's located in Power Consumption Details -> Software and is not so bad. But probably depends on how much time you spend away from your phone. You can use AOD and put the phone with screen down, it will turn off screen until you flip it and see if notifications are available.

Hi there!
Is there a way to change how the vibration works? Sorry for the noob question.. cheers!
@kimirai1027 for some Apps e.g. WhatsApp you can specify vibration intensity:
Settings -> Notifications -> WhatsApp -> More Settings -> Vibration: Off/ Standard/ Short/ Long
@doemEINS Thank you buddy.. cheers!
I had tried to use ALWAYS ON EDGE (among a few other apps) but no matter what settings I tried, etc. I could not get it to work. That being said, I found another app on the Play Store called ALWAYS ON AMOLED and it works like a CHAMP.
It is super customizable and seems to be very similar to ALWAYS ON EDGE so if you are looking for something like this to use as a visual for notifications then I recommend this app. Just search for ALWAYS ON AMOLED on the Play Store...

I find it unbelievable in this day and age when manufacturers decide to remove a functional Led yet don't replace it with anything half decent for notifications.
You know when you plug in your charger, those green bubbles appear? A notification like that would have been nice.

That's the one thing I miss from my S10+, using good lock to have the notification light around the hole punch, most third party applications from the play store need ridiculous permissions or use a stupid amount of battery

Great thread guys..
Can someone please share thier AOE settings/configurations if it's working fully for them.
Its not working at all for me, and I'm usually a person who enjoys playing with settings until I get a satisfying result.
Would really appreciate it.

LG dual screen

1. Can you flip backward the screen when connected to dual screen? For vlogging using rear cameras & 2nd screen?
2. What happens when you use dual screen and mirroring your screen wirelessly or wired?
3. What happens when you connect other phones to the USB c port of dual screen?
4. Can you use double dongle connected to your phone port and dual screen port? So it's more flexible in terms of usability
5. Secondary screen support haptic feedback vibration?
6. Can you hide 2nd screen notch?
You'll have to take my answers with an understanding that a bit of it will be speculation. You see, I do not own an LG G8x Dual Screen. I do, however, own a Korean LG V50 Dual Screen, so I can provide some insight and provide you with some answers

This will not work. The Dual Screen can flip open to 360°, putting it behind the device, but two things are going to prevent you from using it like you've asked. The secondary screen, at least on the V50, shuts off when the case reaches this position. It actually stays on for most of the arc, only flicking off at about 350°, but it does render itself unusable on the back of the device. Even if this can be changed in the software of the G8x, the second problem is that in this position, the 360° opened Dual Screen, facing the rear of the device, will block the backside of the primary device, obscuring the cameras. The Dual Screen will only face the rear of the device in this 360° opened position, at which point the primary cameras will always be blocked.

It mirrors the primary display. I haven't tested what happens on any of the handful of dual screen "wide mode" compatible apps, but I would imagine it would still only show the right pane on your mirroring device. However, I do speculate that it could be possible to mirror the dual screen instead, if you could pick out which activity in the system is the begin mirroring command and then set a widget or Tasker profile to automatically initiate it. There are some system apps that do not allow you to move it over to the Dual Screen display, and the cast screen subsetting menu is one such app. However, I believe that it might be possible to cast the secondary screen instead if this were the active screen at the time that screencasting began. As far as casting both, I doubt this would every be possible. Most apps can only exist on one screen or the other at a time, per install. (There are ways to install multiple copies of an app, but they become entirely separate apps as far as the system can tell.) The screencasting service is one such app, which can, in theory, only exist on one display environment or the other. Maybe it could be possible to get two separate screencasting apps and run one on each display, but then you would need to cast to two different devices. I guess I'll go with a hard "maybe" on this one.

I will assume that nothing happens. You see, the supporting software to run the Dual Screen is preinstalled on the V50, on the primary device, and mI assume this will be the same on the G8x. The Dual Screen Settings subsetting menu is present in the system menu. The Dual Screen's Home Launcher is installed on the primary device. Connecting, say, a Galaxy s10 will likely cause nothing to happen, because the s10 would not have any software or drivers to interface with the Dual Screen Accessory.
That said, I am interested to see if my Dual Screen capable V50 will be able to interface with the G8x Dual Screen Accessory, and I will test this as soon as I get the chance.
Likewise, I'm interested to see if anyone can reverse engineer the drivers and allow the Dual Screen Accessory to be used with non-native, or non-LG devices. As soon as everyone realizes that the Dual Screen form factor is the future, and this silly foldable display hype bubble deflates, I think we'll end up with some competent developers working on the issues.

This is an interesting question. Do you mean just using a USB c female to USB c male cord, to plug the device into the dual screen, but at a distance? I don't see why not. To plug it into a splitter so that you can plug in another device? Probably unnecessary, as there is a port with some style of USB c passthrough on the case, but it might work, as long as the device isn't trying to draw a bunch of power from the device. The screen is powered through this port, and you could easily exceed the power output limits of this port.
And if you're asking about the possibility of using some kind of a splitter to try to Daisy Chain a couple of dual Screen Accessories to a single primary G8x device, that's crazy enough that it just might work, if you can figure out the power issue.

The Dual Screen Accessory does not have a Haiti motor of it's own, but the haptics work from the primary device when you are working on the dual display.

Hide, Probably, to some extent. The V50 insides
Includes the option to hide it in the LG apps and preinstalled apps, but it doesn't usually work on third party apps. I haven't sought a third party "notch hiding" app, because frankly, the notch doesn't bug me at all. And on the V50, it is much more pronounced. But there's no way to "turn it off" even in the Dual Screen, where it is entirely non-functional. The notch exists because of a lack of pixels being there at all. The Dies that they use for the manufacture of the screen are responsible for the notch, which LG Included "unnecessarily" in the G8x so that they could simply have their two screens come from the same supplier, same batch, so that they will have Identical specs and color science. There's no way to turn the pixels there back on or anything, but there might be something you can do about turning the whole top strip of the phone into a dark, notch hiding, fuax bezel or whatever. I dunno, if the notch is a problem for you, I don't know what to tell you. I'd guess that you've not had a device with a notch before. Because they really aren't a big deal. Especially not these little teardrops.
Of course, individual milage may vary. But if the notch is a turn off for you, don't let the fear of the notch dissuade to from your interest in this device. What LG is doing in the space is revolutionary. Be the first you know to try it, and you'll see exactly why I think Multi Display Tech is the future of smartphones.
Your answers are really fantastic!
1. Can you flip backward the screen when connected to dual screen? For vlogging using rear cameras & 2nd screen?
This question is for g8x reversible type c which is located at perfect middle bottom. I mean, like put it down lying backward, for vlogging purpose,
4. Can you use double dongle connected to your phone port and dual screen port? So it's more flexible in terms of usability
Imagine putting both dual screen closer, less gap, bezelless, same height level, to run as one big tablet mode. Using cables, which can be hidden underneath / inside the case
8. Have you got the latest update to run one app on both screen as a whole big continuing screen?
LG stock apps are quite flexible with dpi, they are adaptive and scale well with tablet mode UI
Can you force it via developer menu to make it work? Big tablet modes for all apps
9. Do you know some dedicated apps for dual screen? Other than naver whale browser and some 5g demo apps
It seems like LG uses different SDK & API compared to Asus twinview. So asphalt 9 & some dual screen games aren't compatible with LG dual screen
GCam+gphotos?
gdocs open documents + list?
Dual window chrome?
10. Can you find some system apps that could possibly refer to dual screen feature?
I would be very interested if V50 is compatible with the new G8X dual screen. I was able to get the V50 on the cheap in US and G8X will be released soon here in Europe.

This is only physical compatibility. I have found Korean video where one user tests exactly that and it doesn't work.
Does anybody have any idea about whether the dual screen would work with the regular G8? It looks like there's enough open space for the fingerprint scanner on the back. If it's a software issue, could the apps be sideloaded?

I don't have v50/v50s/g8x
But this mode is not available for all apps
Someone needs to try change 'enable force resizeable all apps' in developer option for that
I was able to do it in chrome. If you use chrome in portrait node and enable "wide view" mode, chrome splits across both screens and the keyboard is split in half with one half on each screen.

Which apps work in Split view mode? Or is it only Chrome?
And if you enable force resizeable all apps' in developer option (suggested by harysviewty), does that enable all apps to work in split view?

A worthy upgrade?

From my OnePlus 6t? I'm really just curious about how smooth the overall experience is. I already know, that the camera, battery life, and multitasking will be an upgrade. And the size of the phone doesn't bother me. But I'm a little hesitant just because I was hoping for a faster refresh rate (not a deal breaker), and because of LG's terrible reputation for updates and software fixes. So I gues my question is this.. How is the overall software performance in terms of smoothness, fluidity, and just overall performance?

I'll be honest there are some bugs that will be addressed with an update(when ever that is) but over all even without 90hz refresh rate this phone is a BEAST. I get 12 hours of screen on time with moderate use, quick charge 4.0 is quite good on this device even for its big battery, the screen is beautiful and the cameras are definitely awesome. The bugs aren't bad enough to take away from the overall experience but you'll notice some things such as phantom touches, wifi doesn't auto connect all the time, and the app drawer doesn't auto arrange apps but i'm happy. Also, audio quality is INSANE!

Thank you. This might seem like a ridiculous question but does the stock launcher have the ability to swipe down the notification shade from anywhere on the screen? Not a big deal, bit I've heard that it doesn't and that seems like such a stupid oversight for such a big phone. Also can I get rid of the app drawer icon, but still use the app drawer? In other words, remove that icon, and just swipe up to enter the app drawer? Neither is a deal breaker, but just things I've been curious about since I'm unable to go to a store and get a "hands on" with the device right now
swiping down anywhere brings down the content search, also yes you can choose to have swipe up or dock icon or just have apps on the home screen

I recently moved from the OnePlus 6t to this phone. Since both phones are 60 hz, I don't miss anything there. I love having the pen functionality and stereo speakers, and games are completely better with the dual screen even if I don't play much. I thought I always had great battery on the OnePlus, but it is even better with the V60. Last charge cycle I got about 10 hours screen on time, about 2-3 hours more than on my 6t. One of my main reasons for going back to LG (I previously owned LG V20 and V30) was the headphone jack and sound quality. I have extra dongles just to use my headphones. I constantly swipe down though when trying to open the notification shade, so I just wish that function were there. Got a security update today, actually ahead of my OnePlus phone at the moment, but I know software updates will be a major letdown. This hardware is fantastic though! You will surely enjoy this phone as an upgrade to the OnePlus 6t imo...

If you're not on Android 10, I believe it's not broken
I went from a rooted LG V30+ to an unrooted LG V60 (both with AT&T), and I absolutely love this phone so far.
I mean, yeah, the V30+ is pretty old, so there's no way this wasn't going to be an upgrade in just about every category, but I'm still very, very pleased with the phone.
On the V30+ (which at the time I was using it, was still stuck on Android 8), I replaced LG's crappy Home Launcher with Nova Launcher Prime and added Fluid Navigation Gestures (since there were no stock gestures on Android 8).
I'm happy to report that with a quick permission granted via ADB, Nova Launcher + FNG are working exactly as they did on the V30+, even without root. This includes hiding the Navigation Bar (which is what I accomplished via that ADB permissions thing). And of course, Nova lets you swipe down from anywhere to pull down the notifications shade, and swipe up to pull up your Apps panel. You can set up similar triggers with FNG, but I find that's unnecessary.
I'm completely ignoring Android 10's stock gestures, as I got so used to FNG and it's just so damn pretty besides. I'm also circumventing any conflicts that may exist with stock Android 10 gestures and third-party launchers. Hell, I was even able to backup my V30's Nova Launcher settings and screen/icon pack and layouts to Google Drive and restore that backup on the V60 without any issue whatsoever (once I reinstalled all the apps I wanted, of course).
I couldn't be happier. This will be the first Android phone ever I don't root, and frankly, I don't think I'll even miss it!
Oh, and for what its worth, the phone came from AT&T with the February 2020 Android security patch, and a few days ago, an April 2020 security patch came down the pipe.
Coming from the V30, I'm VERY well aware how awful LG's software update release schedule is, so consider me pleasantly surprised.

Yeah I've used nova off and on for years, it actually works fine without adb but I've noticed if try to open a "pop up window" it works, but then it breaks the recents menu and you have to reset it. Will using these adb commands fix that? I'm out of the loop on it because my 6t was rooted and running a custom ROM so I didn't have to deal with it

I have never used a pop-up window and honestly don't know what that is. I don't think that existed on my LG V30.
And I probably should have been more specific. I used ADB to grant Fluid Navigation Gestures an extra permission that allows it to hide the Navigation Bar without root access.
I don't think I needed to grant Nova any permissions via ADB. But I should run through Nova's settings and double-check.
My V30 was also rooted, though I stuck with the stock ROM. So I'm new to the whole "permissions via ADB" thing, but find that it's a viable work-around.
The important thing is that it persists through reboots, so it's a set-it-and-forget-it kind of thing.
I'll test the pop-up window thing and report back.
Edit - I just tried using Chrome and WhatsApp simultaneous via the pop-up windows functionality, dragged them around the screen, dismissed them, etc., and had absolutely no issues whatsoever triggering the Recents panel with Fluid Navigation Gestures. I even set up new pop-up windows and used FNG to pull up Recents and close the pop-ups with the Clear All button. Again, no issues. But I'm using FNG to power all of my navigation gestures minus the swipe down from anywhere for the Notifications Shade and swipe up for All Apps, which I let Nova handle.
And thanks for inadvertently teaching me something new! I may actually use these pop-up windows going forward!
Thanks for explaining that to me. I'm not using FNG just Nova. So maybe that's why it screws up the recents for me. It's not a big deal to me just something that I noticed. But I would like to be able to use a 3rd party launchers without bugs like this.
