Is there a hack from the wear os 2.0 side to make the watch be compatible with an iphone? There was a tweak for the jailbroken iphone back in 2015 but it was for Android wear. Is there some new way for Wear OS 2.0?

What I mean by full compatibility is the ability to respond to messages, emails, whatsapp, receive google maps directions on the watch and things of the kind. It looks like if you have an iphone, you are more restricted on the things you can do. Jailbreak on the iphone is the same as root on the Android phone.

No, with a simple iphone you cannot respond to messages, emails, WhatsApp nor receive google maps directions on the watch. I was redundant by asking if on a jailbroken iphone that is possible, expecting that there could be a way using some tweak on the iphone but on this forum, I should be asking for a hack/apk on the watch to improve/open the communication with the iphone.

Actually, there is a beta Skype for Android with video. I don'tshare your opinion that Microsoft will kill any enhancements for Skype. Incidentally, th y do have a Bing app that is quite good.
If nothing else, MS buying Skype will give Skype a lot of resurces that they did not have. The N900 has had Skype video for over a year and the ANdroid beta is pretty much based on that Maemo one.
The best thing about the MS/Skype is that you will see conferencing and othe rgoodies in Outlook, Office and many other products.
Ah well that's up to you, but it makes perfect business sense for MS to use it as a selling point for their own WP7 handsets, so i highly doubt it will ever see a full release on android. Yes you're right though, there was a beta out ages ago for it. Anyway... time will tell... we shall see.

The only video calling app under the sun that works for all of Android, iPhone, and Desktop right now is Yahoo Video Chat. That is it, all nada.
All other apps only work with some combination of 2 or 3 of the above, or are voice only.
Android has never been a priority for Skype, for god only knows what reason. They would rather develop for IOS even though it has fewer devices, even though they distribute their app for free.

This isn't entirely true. You can use Google Talk's Video Chat on all three, but on iOS devices and earlier Android versions (pre-GB) you have to use a third party app called Vtok. Not perfect, but it works. I should admit that I don't use video chat really ever, so I can't comment on the quality, etc

Google Talk's video chat does not work on the desktop unless the person you are trying to call just happens to magically be logged into GMail. This is because their desktop app for whatever crazy reason does not have video chat support, only GMail does.
Can you tell I am frustrated? The thing that gets my goat so much is that MSN Messenger is one of the most widely used video chat apps in the world, that is what everyone I know runs and uses - yet they have NEVER made an Android or iPhone video chat client in the past 4 years. Heck they don't even have one for Windows Mobile or Windows Phone 7! And people wonder why Microsoft is always lagging behind - they don't even know how to keep up with the mobile marketplace.
Again, from my experience the only widely used one that works on all 3 is yahoo chat. oooVoo has clients but I honestly have never tried it because trying to find others with an ooVoo account is like finding a needle in a haystack.

And in order to initiate video chat via Skype with someone on the desktop, you have to magically install a bloated Skype client application, open it, and hope that Skype isn't currently down.
I don't understand your complaint. Using Gmail as your primary client for instant messaging/voice chat/video chat on the desktop means you don't have to install any extra applications, and their service is way more reliable than Skype. And if you don't want to be stuck with having to manually log into Gmail every time you open your browser, you can set the browser to automatically open Gmail and log you in. It's no different from any other set of chat protocols, it's just been engineered to live inside the browser so that Google wouldn't have to write a separate application for each operating system. This is why Google abandoned further development on the official Google Talk client; it's just unnecessary when the browser is capable of the same thing.
You know what else makes Gmail better than anything else? As long as you're on a desktop computer, you get free outgoing calls to anywhere in the United States.

Typically, if a bunch of people you know like to be able to video call each-other, they will all have an application installed. If Skype is installed it sits in the tray, always. A contact can initiate a call with you any time.
With GTalk, they'd have to open a chat session, and get you to go to gmail, etc etc. It really is very sub-optimal. I don't know why Google has not added video to their desktop client, there have been bugs for it for YEARS now.
The browser is great for a lot of things, but one of the things it can't currently do properly is run background daemon-type applications that should be available 24/7, such as a messenger client.
You know what else makes Gmail better than anything else? As long as you're on a desktop computer, you get free outgoing calls to anywhere in the United States.

I do use GMail for this as well, but this is a total side conversation and really has nothing to do with the task at hand. As well, this is another feature that should be in the desktop client.
I've been googling this all day and I haven't found my answers. Does Windows Phone 7.5 Mango integrate tightly with Windows 7?

What kind of integration do you need?
WP7 uses Zune software to connect your desktop, it can autosync your photos, music, videos, install apps, Zune can give access to the internet to your phone while it connected via cable, also Zune can update firmware on phone. That all integration that I know.
IE9 has the ability to change view to desktop version. And it doesn't sync favs and passwords for me (maybe I don't know how to do that?).
I would say it doesn't integrate at all.
Everything goes through Zune. That is: the features Chipsaru described.
You can't even drag and drop files or sync documents and other files to it natively.
Not as a removable storage and not even through Zune.
You can however do some limited file transfers/syncs through Skydrive.
Syncing through Zune can be done via wireless connection as well. Change the settings in the Zune set up to Wireless Sync. Then plug your phone into power as if you were charging. Within 5-10 minutes it will sync.
And for file transfer there an app for that ! Try PC File Download from the MarketPlace.

Correct, still it doesn't integrate more because of those points.
Actually the app You suggest does require a server to work as i can understand...
There are workarounds and apps for most scenarios, but integration is close to zero for the moment.

Then Android is a much better choice for you. Lumia 800 (perhaps not Windows Phone, specifically) is as restrictive -- if not more so -- than iOS.
As for integration with a desktop OS, I think the trend is to move away from it. Over-the-air & cloud integration is the way to go.
Zune is crap, but it works. It is soon to be replaced...
Integration with Office is 100% and so is Facebook, Twitter etc.

Damn, that's pretty disappointing news. Any comment about Mobile IE9? How does it compare to Mobile Safari or even the new Chrome browser for Android?

Facebook Messenger isn't available for Windows Phone 7.5. The app is a bit like WhatsApp, but the advantage is that I can also add my location data to my messages. I don't think Facebook for WP7.5 can do that yet. Is it possible to add location data to the messages?

Facebook Messenger is not needed by Windows Phone 7.5 because Facebook Chat is built into the Messages app, and regular (offline) Facebook Messages can be accessed with the Facebook app.
If by adding location data to messages you mean geotagging status/timeline updates, I don't think that is yet possible natively by Windows phone 7.5, but you can use the built-in Check-in function to check in using Facebook Places.

If you've used IE9 on the desktop, its pretty comparable. While it may not be the best browser for everyone, IE9 is surprisingly good compared to previous versions (and while thats not saying much, its just a much better browser overall). Its fast, includes hardware acceleration for certain sites (hardware acceleration is also enabled for the mobile version of IE9). It is very identical to the desktop version of IE9, and it's pretty nice. No browser is perfect of course, but I haven't had any major issues with commonly used sites.

Just as an iPhone generally requires iTunes to do anything meaningful (Mac or PC), Windows Phone requires Zune (or if you are using a Mac, the Windows Phone Connector) in order to sync media back and forth. So they are largely the same in terms of how they connect to a computer. If by integration you mean among their own respective platforms, just as iOS has a host of services it hooks into (App Store, iBooks, iTunes, etc.), Windows Phone integrates very well with Microsoft services (Xbox Live, Zune, Windows Live, Office, SharePoint, Exchange, etc.). If you are living in an iOS world and can't give that up, then neither Windows Phone nor Android are probably good for you. Each platform caters to their own company's services, naturally. I do expect more OS-based integration coming with Windows 8 though, which will be really nice.
Mobile IE9 can force desktop version, you just have to go into the options and choose between Mobile or Desktop views.
iOS and Windows Phone are generally both very restrictive. There is a trade-off you are getting. iOS and Windows Phone are pretty stable and generally just works, and this is because of the restrictive nature of the operating system. If Apple and Microsoft control more of what goes on with the OS, there is less chance for things to go crazy. The opposite is for Android, you get almost complete freedom to do what you want, but with that, you introduce instability, possible malicious software through an unfiltered Market, and the oh-so-common force closes and poor performance. Microsoft is still slowly opening up Windows Phone, but its just as restrictive if not more (at least at the moment) than iOS. Customization is not a strong point for Windows Phone, but its the same as when iOS started out. As time goes on, more and more control will be given to both the end-user and developers to do great things with Windows Phone, but with Windows Phone still being rather young, you just aren't going to see that just yet.

Using that same logic, then I suppose FB Messenger isn't needed for iOS or Android because the original FB app have already have a messaging component inside the app.
The advantage of FB Messenger over the default FB app for both iOS and Android is that it can geotaq the messages. I will know where it was sent from. It sucks that WP7.5 cannot geotag the messages yet. That would be a nice feature to have.

You're wrong. I just loaded up the FB app for my iPhone 4 and there is no way to geotag the messages. The only way to do that is through FB Messenger.

Hmmm. I can geotag my status updates just fine on both my Android version of Facebook and the iOS version of Facebook.

I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version of FB for iOS. Can you show a screenshot of it? It's very easy to do with iOS.
It would make everything so much more easier! Instead of downloading apps, signing in, having everyone online in order to call/text/video call, it would be so much better if Hangouts was just integrated into the OS. On iOS all you do is sign in to your Apple ID when you first buy and turn on the phone. Same thing happens on android, so why not just integrate hangouts into this process so that if I text another android user, it automatically sends as a hangout message instead of text. This would make video calling so much easier and since hangouts is cross-platform, almost everyone would instantly be accessible for video calling/texting/VoIPing. Make the whole process transparent like on iOS and you have yourself a winning platform for doing your VoIP and video calling almost instantly.
Does anyone know of an app or any development to bring google now to the Gear S?
1. I want to be able to add reminders from the watch with my voice and them be in google reminders, not that crappy Samsung reminders.
2. add items to lists with my voice. Google now does this with Keep
3. being able to check things off of my lists from my watch would be nice too, although I think this would require a Keep companion in addition to the Google now companion
The only way I can figure to get the first 2 in one go, would be to have google now voice functionality on the watch. If anyone has some other ways or ideas how to accomplish these things, please let me know
OK here is what I have found so far:
1. I know I can receive notifications from google now on my Gear S. They are clunky at best, and it is not what I want
2. I know there is an ALPHA of android wear I can TRY to put on the Gear S. Not worth the trouble and I wouldn't get the standalone functionality of the watch.

No, the hub accesses the accounts directly, not the system.
Is like your mail program that accesses your mail account.
Look on Screenshot, it is Not the Gmail icon at the top.
I can't see a way to configure WhatsApp for example - surely it requires me to approve access or hook it up somehow?

Have auto-start set by default (without being one of the 5 custom auto-start apps), and therefore notifications will show, and be 'captured' by the Blackberry Hub. But for example, I just added Google Chat, which DOESN'T have auto-start set, and it doesn't show in Blackberry Hub, because there are no notifications...
I'm not sure I like the solution or workaround of yet another app to deal with notifications that should be a standard solution, aka OS and base UI API, from Google AndroidOS itself.
I'm fully aware of BlackBerry and its history, yet how up to date is this BlackBerry Hub and what's the official word from BlackBerry update future updates? If nothing official this would be a temporary solution.

CN ROM have limitations because Chinese app developers are garbage that stuffs apps full of offer notifications auto start and push for more monetization.. if u seen the china app market, it's 90% junk apps there that ask for every single permission possible to harvest ur data and sell openly to the big firms..
I tried this on my Find N2 (fold) no luck in getting other apps configured to receive notifications - the only one I could get to work was GMAIL..
Anyone else have any luck in getting other apps working using the Blackberry HUB such as Facebook etc?
