I havent been on here in years but is this correct? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is this the true list of permissions for firefox 's latest version in your guys playstore? I just need to confirm before downloaded. Just needed to check with my old friends as I come back to android. Thanks boys! And girl !

Yes, that is correct. That is the permissions it may request. You still need to grant them. It does not give the app those privileges automatically when you download the app, if that is what you're wondering.

I am very glad you mentioned that. I did not know I had to individually grant them as the requests pop up. Thank you very much! You have been a huge help

[ROOT] Root Access without unlocking bootloader! [V1 02/08/12]

Hello!
I'm here to present the first way of gaining root access through ADB, WITHOUT unlocking your bootloader and voiding warranty.
METHOD
Download Pokoby's Root Pack
Download the .564 firmware
Download Flashtool for the Xperia NXT line
Step 1: Flash the stock .564 firmware on your phone (Other guides available. Essentially, install Flashtool drivers, unplug phone from USB then hold Volume Down whilst inserting the USB)
Step 2: Open up Pokoby's Root Pack, and extract all the files inside. Make sure it has adb, it should be included in the zip.
Step 3: Run the ROOT.BAT file inside .../Pokoby's Root Pack. Your phone will reboot once, then another CMD window should appear. If not, start it manually by running ROOT2.bat, also located inside the folder.
Step 4: When the CMD window asks whether you'd like to install Superuser.apk, press Y or Enter to proceed. If not, you can install it later from Google Play.
Step 5: Your phone will reboot once more. Congratulations! You should succesfully have Superuser as an app on your phone. To test for root access, download Terminal Emulator from the Google Play store, and type in 'su' (without the apostrophes). A Superuser request should appear. Select 'Allow'. The $ in Terminal Emulator should then turn to a # sign. That means you've rooted!
You're rooted!
QUESTIONS
Q: What is root?
A: I suggest you read up on Wikipedia, but if you aren't aware of what rooting is, it's highly unlikely you'll want or need to do it.
Q: Something went wrong, and my phone isn't rooted.
A: PM me, and I will always respond A.S.A.P. Also, remember to include details about where exactly the process stops.
Q: I love you! You're my hero! Where can I donate?
A: I will soon set up a donation link. All funds will go to a charity of my choice, but I'm currently undecided. And, that's if anyone does want to donate.
Q: Do you have a Github?
A: I am currently in the process of creating one, and setting up sources there.

Its possible for SXP?
Does this also work with stock 6.0.B.3.184 Firmware or is .564 definitely necessary? And is updating to .184 possible after rooting using your method?

Forgive me first off if this post exists somewhere else in this forum. I have looked with very little result. I recently rooted my device Cm-10.1 all went well. What I am missing or was not included was the My Net app from the tablet. A lot of people said you could find it on the ASUS site .. ummm NO unless I missed it. Could someone attach that APP to this post please.

I am wondering how you got it to install. I am using CM 10.1 night 2013-0101-Nightly. I have tried it on several other versions as well and it will not install is this by chance a permissions issues ?
How are yoiu installing it? You will need to push to system/app manually and change permissions yourself I would imagine.

I just realized I never answered your question. I am pushing it to the download section and then just clicking on it to install it there I will pushing it over to the system/app section and doing it from there

Doubt that will work.
Here I have made an installer for you - try flashing this. I suspect it won't work on anything but a stock based rom due to some reliance on Asus framework files.
Let me know how you get on.

[GUIDE] How to get a logcat with an app

A developer is asking you for a logcat? Read this:
A logcat is an excerpt of the system logs. Devs will need it to fix errors. They will not know why your error happens without one.
How to do it:
1) Download the app aLogcat.
2) If the problem (e.g. a crash) appears again, open the app afterwards. (Do not wait too long.)
3) Hit the menu button and select "Save".
4) Upload the textfile to XDA.
You see that it is easy. So help your favorite devs by providing logcats. :good:

Welcome i was looking for this logcat and wondering how to get one, and your guide saved the day :victory: i'm new with this stuff
I don't know if there already is android 4.x available for the device section this thread is in but if it is, aLogcat needs permission to read the logs nowadays (with root):
Code:
su
pm grant org.jtb.alogcat.donate android.permission.READ_LOGS
pm grant org.jtb.alogcat android.permission.READ_LOGS

My Ace is running on 4.2.2.
However, aLogcat did that automatically for me.

Help with Shizuku Manager

I recently got App Ops and Shizuku Manager to help with my battery and device in general
Link ~ https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tips-battery-life-multitasking-t3712660
I was wondering if anyone knows of any other apps besides App Ops that Shizuku Manager can give root permissions to ( I know technically it's a framework work-around, not really root permissions)
